VOTING IS A SACRED DUTY.

VOTING IS A SACRED DUTY.

RIGHT TO VOTE IS A SACRED DUTY which one must perform without fail. If you fail to vote then you are failing in your duty and then you are allowing somebody who is not your choice to come and rule over you during the next five years. And when he rules the way he wants like a dictator, you curse him when you have no right to curse him because you have failed in performing in your duty. Rights and duties go together, they are like two side of the same coin. One cannot be detached from the other, both are attached to each other. Hence, it is imperative that all our people in Goa especially those who love clean Government, upright MLAs, real lovers of Goa and Romi Konkani must vote this time without fail. The importance of voting was nicely described in his article written by the well – known Goan journalist Valmiki Faleiro in Herald dated 27th of this month.

Sonia Gandhi came and addressed meetings in Goa, exhorted Goans to vote for the Congress Party back to power in order to give stable and strong Government. Yes, strong and stable Government. For what? To degoanise Goa by doling out free land to non-Goans in the name of Housing Board colonies? To vote Congress Party to permit Congress MLAS and Ministers to loot Goa? To allow the Congress MLAs and Ministers to put Government jobs on sale like “Bangdde”? Sonia Gandhi is a dictator. She was the member of the Indira Gandhi family when dictatorial Emergency rule was introduced by her mother in law whence Sonia Gandhi was silently accepting everything worst in India. All the Congressmen in Goa are dictators worst than Salazar because they don’t care for the sentiments of the public. Most of the public agitations in Goa occurred during the rule of Congress Party especially under the Chief Ministership of Prataph Rane.

About 18 months back I was in Panjim taking part in the agitation against Town and Country Planning Bill by Babush Monsurate. We were shouting slogans near the Customs House. Suddenly Goa’s Chief Minister Rane in his car passed by us but never even bothered to look at us why we are gathered there. He was busy on his mobile talking as if he was talking to Manmohan Singh. Now, let me ask this: Is it right for a leader of Goa to just pass by us ignoring us like that? What sort of this leader is who does not take care for his people? Somewhere in 1959 due to some problems, some Taxi drivers gathered together and went in a rally, shouting slogans, to the Palace of the then Portuguese Governador. From distance Governador saw them coming in a morcha and shouting slogans. Immediately Governador sent his secretary to meet the taxi drivers and asked one representative of theirs to meet him. The representative came, met with Governador and Governador in turn assured him all the help to redress their grievances with a word of advice: “Next time if you have any problem, do not come on to the streets in a show of demonstration. I will solve your problems peacefully and nicely. I am sent from Portugal to Goa to solve your problems and not to see you coming on to the streets in a manner not befitting Goan culture and moreover I don’t want to debase your decent Goan culture by provoking you to come on to the street”. Compare this attitude of Portuguese Governador with that of Rane. Who is better? Who took more care of the needs of Goans? Portuguese or Congressmen from Goa and India?

Will Congress support Romi Konkani and bring it on par with Nagri Konkani? Never. Even the recognition for Konkani earlier given during the time of Congress rule was not a “bakxis” by the Congress but it was a hard fought battle with the Congress Government by the Konknnivadis mainly the Romivadis. In this bloody battle so many precious martyrs sacrificed their Konkani blood. Congress Party has not done a favour on us by granting official status to Konkani. We fought for it and snatched from the Congress party.

Congress party is the party of “Chors”, “Bamttes” and rapists who are plundering Goa. They neither have love for Konkani nor for Romi Konkani. Up to now they have not spoken a single word in support of Romi Konkani. Loutolim Congress candidate Aleixo Sequeira when questioned said nothing on Romi Konkani. Luizin and Sardinha are still dumb. Mauwin is not making any positive statement, he is making all efforts to get elected and then he will show his “Konko” to Romi Konkani. A master crook, he knows how to play his game in a purely Congress style. Mickey Pacheco in Benaulim and Babush Monsurate in Taleigao are not speaking their minds on the issue of Romi Konkani. Margareth Alva is totally keeping her mouth shut.

Romi Konkani Front and other activitsts must immediately meet her and ask her opinion and accordingly give a call to the Romi Konkani voters. No delay should be done to implement our plans. Romi Konkani activists looks very silent. What is wrong with them? Other Congressmen are equally dumb. What they deserve now from the supporters of Romi Konkani especially from Salcette? Nothing but a Royal Kick. Tiatrists Wilmix the convenor of Romi front and his colleagues must start now a “zuz”. If the tiatrists are really supporters of Romi Konkani then they will not become the purchasable commodities from the hands of Ministers, MLA’s and Candidates belonging to Congress, BJP, MGP and all others who are not supporting Romi Konkani issue. I see some of the politicians especially from Congress Party sponsoring Tiatro advertisements. Is it to gain cheap publicity at the cost of Tiatros and Tiatrists which is a prt of Romi Konkani?
