FELIX DIAS ON DEMANDING JUSTICE FOR CIPRIANO.
Veronicabab, reading your write up on Cipriano's tortured death, a layman's blood must be boiling over as it does mine. I for sure knows that there will be no justice in this case given to his departed or robbed or police tortured soul. I only pray that his soul may rest in peace and god give courage to his family to bear the loss.
Veronicabab, till last week there was a big hue and cry on this death, but now it is slowly forgotten or forgetting? We Goans have a habit of barking like dogs when we only see the shadow but when reality comes in picture we run away like cowards and on top of it we call ourselves as brave Goykars. Shame on our bravery.
Last I heard in press releases that ex tourism minister will initiate Morchas or dharnas unless the cops involved in this murder are arrested. Where are you now Mr Pacheco the Rattol? I had high hope on you that you will take this fight as a true son of Goan soil but I am dissapointed with your attitude towards this case. Where are the oppositions sleeping? Where is BJP now, cant they do something for this guy's case or are they backing off because he was a Christian?
Think people before you elect your future represantatives in your village or cities. Do we have any charismatic leaders now as we used to have in 70's ? Are there any leaders equivalent to Dr. Jack Sequeira and Rock Santan Fernandes ? I guess no and leaders like them come once in a lifetime. Veronicabab, you think there will be justice done in this case ? No, no way as long as the Dukpnkar Pilot is Home Minister and Digu Pig is the CM of GOA.
I happened to view a clip of Digu Pig on YOu Tube with the Margoa Sword Case accused along with his wife were in one of the accused house or did he go there to supply his wife as last time he said Womens place is in the house ( whose house husbands house or terrorist house ? ) This time I hope he is defeated in the coming election and everyone should vote him out. As long as he is the CM, Goa wil go to dogs.
Veronica, we want leaders like you in Goa because you are above the tainted leaders, you will call spade a spade but in case you do decide to take on the might of the Mafia ministers in Goa would they allow you to succede that is upto you to decide.
Last but not least my only hope is that Goa does not become like Palestine and Israel because of Politicians selling our motherland Goa to outsiders.
FREDDY ON "SLAVES OF SPONSORHIPS ..."
Dear Francis,
Thanks for your kind comments, you may not be aware, I have been targeting Goans in Dubai for promoting our corrupt politicians so much so, that I and a number of my friends have boycotted all functions where these imbeciles are invited, last San Joao in Dubai, I and my friends joined the celebrations on condition that The PWD minister was not invited but as it turned out he came in and was booed of by our group. The bootlickers are everywhere, not just in Kuwait or in Dubai, or else Goa would not have been in the dire state that it is now, I may break but never bend to our corrupt politicians and never back down from calling a spade, a spade and with people like your good self, together we can save Goa.

REJECTED BY HERALD - KRANTI WELCOMES
SLUMS CREATED IN NAVELIM FOR VOTES BANK.
This not all, There came a newly created Slum Ward of more than 800+ Votes for sure either for Mr. Digu-bab of Margao or Navelim MLA situated at backyard of Colmorod, back of Navelim Church and opposite District Library named after Dr. Francisco Luis Gomes which come under Margao Municipal jurisdiction and very close to Konkan Railway Station, Margao. If these migrants are brought through his Agents by Digu and planted at backyard of Colmorod, Navelim, then surely Digu will be more stronger now to say "HE DO NOT NEED VOTES OF GOANS ANYMORE".
As regards Freedom fighter, Flaviano Dias fighting to change the Portuguese names for Roads etc in Panjim and perhaps at other cities in Goa, he must be doing it to justify his pension so far and/or to get more jelebies in future from Govt. And Govt welcome such issues as such kind of noises give further breathing time to corrupt Government because the anger of People of Goa on failures of Government is being diverted on such unimportant noises and issues so that people remain busy while the Govt get his time passed easily.

Subject: Evolution of Slums.
Evolution of Slums? It's a matter of great concern that our present Chief Minister is taking great interest in the development of?his vote bank at?Monti dongor in Margao than niz goemkars as a whole.Few years back there was nothing at Monti Dongor,it all started with zonpoddpatti's?and than the legalisation of the same with the great help of Dighu bab? Now?one can witness?similar zonpoddpatti's at the?Margao district hospital construction site near KTC and as assembly?elections are?fast approaching Digambar Kamat will not mind legalizing them too.Such?slums are always been considered very important by our present Chief minister and soon they will be given the VIP treatment?to get their voter's cards done at the earliest.Long live such goan ministers who are known for?selling our rights to the Migrants?in Goa!?The great freedon fighter Flaviano?Dias and his?600 workers are more interested to get the Portuguese names canceled?in Goa rather than taking interest in fighting against the issues like above.Flaviano Dias should first get his own?name canceled? and then think about cancelling other Portuguese names in Goa as his own name is a? To,
Hon. Chief Minister,
Govt. of Goa.
Sub: Building complex passed without proper access road at Telaulim, Navelim
Sir,
We wish to bring to your kind notice, a similar issue of a building complex being issued construction license by the Town & Country Planning Dept. and the Village Panchayat of Telaulim, Navelim without proper access road leading to the project site. The complex is coming up in property under survey no 68/0 in Telaulim Village and Construction License No. VPT/2008.2009/10/149 is issued in the name of Vidya Vikas Co-op. Housing Society and NOC from the Town and Country Planning Dept., Margao, ref.: TPM/CONST/Sub-div/Tel/68/0/07/4364 dt. 7/12/07.
The only existing approach road leading to the site is very narrow (less then 3mts in width) and starts from Rosary College, Navelim under Survey No. 86/0 and passing through 87/0, 69/0 till 68/0 of Buticas and 2nd Dando, Navelim, Salcete. It passes through thickly populated areas with a lot of sharp turns including a 90° turn. As per the approved plan, the width of the approach road to the project is shown as 15 mts. as against the existing width of 3 mts. The property where the project is coming up, is also not touching the internal road. Therefore we fail to understand how this project was passed in the 1st place. We are sure there was no site inspection done to verify the site and the project was passed by the authorities namely the TCP Dept. sitting in their office.
There are about 35 local houses in that area as against the proposed 75 dwellings consisting of 56 flats and 19 row houses in this project. There will be more than 200 % increase in the population of that small ward. Once the project is ready and people start staying, the existing road of less than 3 mts. will not be enough for the movement of these new 75 families who will be using the road daily. Also parking place for these 75 new families will another issue.
The local people of that ward filed numerous complaints with the TCP, the local Panchayat, local MLA, ect. They visited the office of the Town Planner many, many times. They passed resolutions at the Gram Sabha, but nothing happened. The TCP Dept. passed the buck on the local Panchayat and Panchayat gave the excuse, “we do not have technical persons to verify the details”. Many of the activist (unfortunately for the rest of us fighting here) work abroad in the Gulf or on shipping lines. They got fed-up of the situation and left for their jobs disgusted. The women folk who continued the fight were threatened by the thugs of the builder and therefore withdrew in fear for the safety of their families. And time passed by and slowly the project is coming up now with a road of less than 3 mts.
Therefore Mr. Chief Minister, can the people get justice in your “KINGDOM”? Justice as they say should not only be done, but should be shown to be done. Thank you.

DEMANDING JUSTICE FOR CIPRIANO FERNANDES TORTURED TO DEATH BY GOA POLICE.
In Goa last month one Christian Goan Cipriano by name on suspicion of minor offence was tortured to death in Panjim Police Prison by the Non-Christian Goa based policemen. The offence on which Cipriano was arrested did not warrant such a torturing. Even during the Portuguese regime in Goa worst of offenders were not treated the way Cipriano was treated. This is the curse of forced Jai Hnd on Goans. Though it was proved beyond any doubt that Cipriano’s death was due to the torturing by the Policemen yet Goa Government, Goa Police Department and Home Minister Ravi Naik still trying to escape from owning responsibility. It is surprising that Ravi Naik as the Home Minster of Goa is still sticking to his portfolio and not submitting his resignation as it was done in Kuwait by the Kuwait’s Interior Minister exactly in the similar incident. Since its independence from British Protectorate 50 years back Kuwaiti rulers, administrators and Government made Kuwait as excellent place for the locals to live while during the last 49 years after Portuguese exit from Goa, our Government, Ghantti Administrators and Ghantti anti-Goan police peronnel made Goa the worst place for Goans to live. And shamelessly we still say we are the best and our State is the best in India.
Our Goa State is the worst administered State in India. Our Goa State is robbed and plundered by the Goan Ministers, MLA’s and their children and we as Goans shamelessly feel proud of our politicians. The ruling party politicians especially the Ministers are so backwards and idiots that we came to know during the last televised Assembly session that lasted for a week. Overwhelming Goans are ignorant of running a democratic set of Government. Indian democracy was imposed on Goans by the rascal Nehru and his Congress Party 49 years back. Still we are not ready to practice genuine democracy for this reason we elect rogues, plunderers, criminals, goons, rapists and law breakers as our representatives.
Coming back to our Christian Goan Cipriano who was tortured to death by the Non-Christian Policemen from Panjim Police Station, justice has not been done to him. This justice we will never get from the current corrupt Goa Government headed by the corrupt Chief Minister and double corrupt Home Minister Ravi Naik who still is acting as shameless. In order to get justice for Cipriano, all those Goans desiring to make Goa as corruption – free, must raise their voices in unison by coming out on to the streets of Goa making bigger noise on this topic. While doing this demonstrations justice seeker Goas must make their voice heard to Panjim Police Station by demonstrating in front of Panjim Police Station. More than that the justice seeker Goans must take a Morcha to the residential places of the Police Personnel responsible to torture Cipriano. The Goan youth seeking justice must join together and gherao the Policemen who killed Cipriano wherever these criminal policemen go. Even their family members should be gheraoed and their children should be put into shame. This will be one peaceful method to seek justice for Cipriano and prevent in future such crimes by our Policmen.
If we do not act now then in near future there will be innumerable Ciprianos dying in Goan Police Stations under the torture of criminal policemen. In Goa we don’t hace humane and decent policemen, many of them are barbarians treating under trial prisoners as cows and goats, these policemen are worst than the burchers. The one department in Goa that needs correction is the Police Department. Common people in Goa must act now on their own instead of relying on Goa Government and Goan politicians. Goa Government has failed us; our elected representatives have failed us. It is time for us the common men to do what our elected representatives cannot do. Otherwise it can be as it is said in one Konkani proverb "AIZ MAKAM - FALEAM TUKAM".

ONE MORE ON "SLAVES OF SPONORHIPS FROM GOAN POLITICIANS"
Dear, Freddy,
Nice one!!
I would like to add more to your write up..........
You are correct to say that football is in Goans blood. Who is the winner in organizing memorial tournaments in Kuwait by offering money to the Chamchas of Goan politicians? My guess is " the organizers", so who cares about the name? No one as it's money making racket. The politician who sponsor memorial soccer do not sell out their hard earned money from their own pockets but the money is from the BRIBES they get by demanding from the peopl, it is like sucking the blood of the people. In this money there is "XIRAP" and this XIRAP will go not only against the ministers and other politicians and their family members but also on those who receive this money as gifts and doles to organise soccer tournaments. Our Goa is going to DOGS because of these politicians and ministers and our Chamchas like Dogs obliging them. I feel one day people will start killing them all ONE BY ONE for looting Goa and that time is not far away.
I was always under the impresion that Kuwait Goans are upright people because of the upright image and upright influence crated by Veronica but now I came to know that there are more Goan Chamchas in Kuwait than elsewhere. It is surprising how the land of upright Goans like Dr. Francis Luis Gomes and Cardinal Gracias is creating Chamchas in Kuwait. Kuwait Goans are supposed to be the role models for other Gulf Goans from their past records but they are alo become like our Goan politicians. It looks they want to contest Goa election from Kuwait.
Dear Freddy, I am aware that you are in Dubai unless you are not now so just curious to know why hit Kuwait in regards to Politicians Sponsoring Soccer? The latest buzz going around in Thiatro circle is that the PWD Minister is sponsoring a Thiatro on 3rd Mar-2011 in Dubai, it is a complete sponsorship as the actors I understand are going to be flown from Goa by the Minister and so the hall and stage are all paid for by him only. The contractor is none other than the person who was involved in romoving the Gold from the Alvenaz murder site on that fatefull day.
The question now on peoples mind is " WILL THE CONTRACTOR SELL TICKETS OR ALLOW PEOPLE TO WATCH IT FREE" as the Thiatro is fully sponsored? This is not the 1st time Thiatro are sponsored in Dubai by the Big Wrestler, so tells my reliable source, so Sponsorship is in Thiatros and not only in Soccer tournaments. In my memory I remember the 1st Memorial Tournament was of late Dayanand Bandodkar and that was organized by GFA a governing body and not by some money making organizations like the ones do now as the money they get in sponsorship must be going in their pockets.
Coming back to the next month Thiatro in Dubai sponsored by the Big Wrestler there must be some fishy things going on and the questions comes in my mind are (a) Why sponsor the Thiatro in Dubai? (b)Is Dubai a haven for the Minister and his clan to do OIL CHANGE? ( c ) who knows how much Money is taken to Dubai illegally by the troupe and the clan ? Indian Customs and EXCISE KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN WHEN THE MINISTER GO ON OVERSEAS TRIP.
Sponsorship trend will not die down as long as there are people to give money and Chamcha peole to organize the events so we might as well be the spectators.
Regards............Francis Dias.

Sponsorships From Corrupt Politicians In Exchange For Memorials
We Goans do love our football so much so, that even our ladies attend matches in large numbers, I feel proud when I hear a lot of outsiders say that football runs in the blood of Goans. I have been even told of a groom who had his nuptial in the afternoon, left his new wife at his home, played an inter-village football game and then went back for his reception; love for football among Goans is amazing.
Today on goanet I read that there is a football tournament in Kuwait sponsored by none other than Churchill Brothers in memory of their late brother Alvarnaz Alemao. I have all the respect for my Kuwaiti Goan brethren, but is this not the same Alvarnaz that was killed in smuggling raid by the Goa Customs lead by Costa, the brave son of the soil, who was later posted in North India for his personal safety from the Alemao clan ?
I am shocked that we Goans for the sake of sponsorships and other benefits today laud criminals and corrupt politicians and go to the extent of honouring them with memorial football tournaments, and chief guests, it is a disgrace to Goa and Goans that we treat Goan criminals as if they are Bhagat Singh’s and Subash Chandra Bose’s of Goa. Do we not have any ethics ?
It’s indeed sad, that along with out ethics we have lost our dignity as well, Kuwaiti Goans brothers keep the Goan flag flying high !

A. Veronica Fernandes from Kuwait comments:
This tournament is going to be organised by Navelim Youth Centre, Kuwait. NYC is the representative of village Navelim only and not of Navelim constituency nor of Kuwait Goan community in Kuwait.
As I said earlier, if NYC had to organise any memorial tournament it should be first of their own villager the late CUSTODIO CRASTO who was instrumntal in working very hard while he was in Kuwait to start our competitive soccer in Kuwait not only for Navelkars and other Goans but also for all the Indians residing in Kuwait. His contritbution and inititiative to start our competitive soccer in Kuwait in 1979 is unique as a member of United Goans Footbal Centre, Kuwait. If it was not for his unselfih dedicated efforts along with other UGC members, today our soccer would not have been flourished reaching where it reached now. May his soul rest in peace. He was also during his younger days an ace footbaler in Goa. Befittingly his memory should be kept alive. But who wil do this? It looks as we say in Konkani "Moddlolea Khursak khuim resped na".

ARE WE WORTHY TO CELEBRATE KUWAIT'S LIBERATION DAY??
In a special way I congratulate all our Kuwaiti friends who in appreciation of our movement in Goa for the sake of their country are still in touch with us thru me and they still say they are grateful to Goans for supporting Kuwait. Because of this movement I came in contact with them even members of the ruling family and when it was necessary they stood by me in Kuwait to help and to support me when I needed their support to carry forward my activities in Kuwait against injustice. Because of our movement under G-KSC the rating of Goans in Kuwait enhanced in the eyes of Kuwaitis.
Seen in the photo is Azad Maidan Panjim - Goa.Many among us including Eduardo Faleiro thought that once it was invaded Kuwait will not be liberated and as such what is the use of shouting slogans on the streets of Panjim in Goa in support of Kuwait and against Saddam Hussein’s Iraq? With this view in mind overwhelming majority of Kuwait Goan evacuees abstained from supporting our movement in Goa, many of them even mocked at us from their homes and from Tavernas and Bars but we never paid attention to their anti-Kuwait opinions. Incidentally most of them were greater beneficiaries of their employment in Kuwait and most of them were too much involved in the Church and religious activities. They had everything with them but lacked only one thing that is GRATITUDE to the country from where they earned their sustenance. It was Kuwait that made them something in life otherwise nobody would care them in Goa because they have no human qualities in them.
Inspite of all this criticism we with the backing of our genuine Goan supporters from Kuwait evacuees and colleagues moved forward by organising public meetings and rallies in Panjim condemning Iraq and supporting the liberation movement of Kuwait. Within short time our voice in support of Kuwait’s liberation movement became audible not only in Goa and in India but all over the World thru national and international media. Seeing this Saddam Hussein became furious because he was telling the world that India was with him. But we Goans proved him wrong. Indian Government became alert of our movement and accordingly changed its stand in support of Kuwait. Chandrashekar Government in Delhi lent full support to all the decisions taken from international platform for the liberation of Kuwait. It was victory for our movement. From Goa we forced Indian Government machinery in Delhi to toe our line.
Some Goans in Kuwait have lost their sanity. Recently one of them heading one Goan association was seeking my assistance to start a Seven - A - Side memorial soccer tournament in memory of a DOG of one Goan minister, recently died in Goa accidentally under the wheels of Kadamba Bus in Salcette. I laughed at his ignorance and servility towards Goan Ministers and politicians. Ministers are in Goa and their ‘LEMBDDE’ slaves in Kuwait want to decorate them during the liberation day of Kuwait. The value of Kuwait’s liberation is too big for our Kuwait Goan ‘Chamchas’ of Goan Ministers and other politicians. Organising functions by these anti-Kuwait Goans with the presence of visiting Goan politicians whose contribution in the movement of Goans in support of Kuwait’s liberation is an insult to Kuwait and all who tirelessly worked for the success of our movement in Goa.
In this photo at the dais NO Goan Minister or plitician seen because they refrained from supporting Kuwait's liberation? It looks like. Finally, is 7-A-Side one day soccer tournament promotes soccer among us or it is just a joke? As for me it is just a joke and we Kuwait Goans are smart in promoting this type of jokes because we have nothing better to do.

Kuwait pays Tribute to Rosary Ferns
By Gasper Crasto; Photographs: Rivon Gomes - http://www.goa-world.com/ Kuwait: Few people leave a lasting impression on others, and even fewer have the chance to truly impact people.
Rosary Ferns, who died an untimely death on 12th January 2011 while on holidays in Goa, left a permanent legacy and will be remembered for a long, long time to come for his contribution towards drama and art in the form of VCDs, CDs and cassettes. Konkan people who were fortunate enough to see Rosary Ferns on stage will perhaps never ever see another star of his calibre – a great playwright, philosophical composer and singer.
Kuwait Konkani Kendr (KKK) organized a condolence assembly on Wednesday 17th February 2011 at Village Inn, Kuwait City to pay homage to the star who spent much of his life in Kuwait.
Well-known Goan writer and social activist Veronica Fernandes conducted the meeting which was attended by invited guests from the Goan and Mangalorean communities.
Prominent Konkani stage artistes Mendes Brothers namely Felix – Xavier – Derek, who acted in the shows directed by Rosary Ferns and who always admired Rosary for his Tiatro skills, were among the crowd along with other significant personalities. Luis Cardoso, Vice President and one of the pillars of KKK, a great lover of Konkani and Goa was also present.
KKK Gen. Secretary Mario Rebello, a leader of Konkani movement in Kuwait contributing immensely for the cause of Konkani, commenced the gathering with a short prayer.
In his emotional speech, Veronica Fernandes, one of the living encyclopedias on tiatr, enlightened the audience on the greatness of Rosary Ferns with numerous quotes. “We have lost a great Goan personality, famous for his remarkable dramas, a ‘wisdomatic’ composer, and a singer of immense talent,” stated Veronica.
It should be noted Rosary’s last drama ‘Kuwait Soddun Vetana’ (Whilst Leaving Kuwait) was staged both by the Goan and Mangalorean Community.
Veronica described his close association with Rosary Ferns and sang a heartrending ‘Motet’ accompanied by musician Aggie D’Silva on the clarinet, which welled the eyes of many bringing recollections of this conventional composition usually sung during the lent season. As per Veronica, this was the best item of his repertoire liked by Rosary.

Veronica later declared that “Rosary’s loss was not just for Goans, but for the entire Konkan community.”
Gulf Goans E-Newsletters moderator Gasper Almeida summarized his observations about Rosary Ferns over the last two decades stressing that one should not forget the journalistic objectivity, while reporting or getting the issues focused. “I must admit that I’am in awe of Rosary Ferns. He was a man with unlimited energy and a generosity of spirit able to withstand all kind of attacks, criticisms and prejudices with a smile and an open mind. He had no comments, no ill feelings, no rhymes nor lyrics on anyone. I have had the pleasure of meeting Rosary Ferns and interacting with him on many occasions.”
“We have lost him, but his songs and works on the Konkani stage will last forever,” he concluded whilst announcing a message by goa-world.com founder Ulysses Menezes dedicating a Glorious Singers’ Section on the online www.goa-world.com radio station in remembrance of Rosary’s contribution towards Goa and the Konkani language in general.
Fidelis Fernandes, brother of Rosary, spoke on the life of the beloved icon terming Rosary’s birth into this world as a miraculous phenomenon and his life a ‘pride to the family’. “Rosary was born with stagecraft in his blood. His birth was rather miraculous. Doctors had informed my father that due to pregnancy complications, there was little or no chance of his survival, but the power of prayers overcame medical limitations and my mother delivered a healthy baby boy on 16th August 1962, whom they named Rosary Menino in gratitude of the intercession of Mother Mary and Menino Jesus at the time of delivery,” disclosed Fidelis in a voice choked with emotions.
He further added, “Tiatro to Rosary was in the blood. Rosary started acting, writing tiatros, one act plays, composing and singing songs at the age of 12.”
Peter Fernandes, other brother of Rosary was also present.
A close admirer of Rosary Ferns, Fr. Melvin D’Cunha, former Vicar of Holy Family Cathedral and on a visit to Kuwait, said, “Rosary’s life was a lesson for all to disclose god-given talents to the world.”
Lawry Pinto highlighted the significance of Rosary Ferns among the Mangalorean community. He said, “Rosary was the bridge between Mangaloreans and Goans which helped to bring the two Konkan communities together in friendship.”
Ms Ida D’Silva underlined Rosary’s contribution to the Konkani world adding “Rosary’s works will remain forever immortal.”
Raymond D’Sa, a special guest on the occasion expressed his condolences to Rosary’s family, and revealed his appreciation towards KKK for organizing the event to pay homage to the celebrated artiste.
Tony Gonsalves, Salvador Dias, Gasper Crasto, etc, were the others who spoke on the occasion.
An audio and video presentation of Rosary’s songs was played to the gathering which brought fond memories of the much-loved star.
Veronica Fernandes concluded the function acknowledging everyone’s presence and praying Eternal Rest to the departed soul.
A well-known Konkani star, Rosary Ferns hailing from Colva, Salcete, Goa came to Kuwait in 1985 and since then he worked for Kuwait Danish Dairy Company.
As a person, Rosary was a thorough gentleman, decent and upright in his behavior maintaining all the high attributes he learnt in his family. He leaves behind his beloved wife Cassilda, two sons Cynan and Cullen, his dearly-loved mother, three sisters and two brothers.
Rosary has been, in his own way, instrumental in improving the overall standard of tiatr and took the Konkani art to new heights. His death is definitely a big loss to Goans and will leave a vacuum in the field of tiatr that will be hard to fill for a long, long time to come.
Rosary was one of the best tiatro writers and directors and during his 25 years in Kuwait, he staged 12 tiatros some of them for the cause of charity. Many associations in Kuwait staged his tiatros. One of the tiatro was staged by Colva United Centre and the entire profit was utilized to build the Colva church hall back home in Goa.
In all, Rosary wrote and directed 21 full-fledged Konkani Tiatros. Some of his masterpieces include ‘Mhojem Dusrem Ghor’ (My second home), ‘Tumkam Lagon Jielom’ (I lived for you), ‘Sukh Khuim Asa’ (Where is Happiness), ‘Bhurgim Mai Paichem Sukh’ (Children, a joy of parents), ‘Devachea Marak Avaz Nam’ (Justice of the Almighty reigns Silent) ‘Ghor Bandlem Ghorabo Moddlo’ (Built a house, broke a home), etc.
Rosary was gifted in writing tragic stories and his forte lied in composing tragic 'cantos'. Among the expatriate tiatrists Rosary Ferns was the only person who was known to be a great composer of traditional 'Mandos'. Some of his golden, original Mandos feature in his Audio albums.
The eminent artiste had his first professional break in his fellow villager’s drama. Goan stage great C.D Silva on seeing the immense singing potential of Rosary booked him for his show ‘Kalliz’. Rosary was in the 7th standard at that time studying at Infant Jesus High School, Colva.
Rosary was later enrolled in St. Anthony’s High School, Majorda, and stayed at his sister’s place at Velsao. Though uprooted from his tiatrical friends and surroundings, he built a ‘tiatrical’ community wherever he went, Velsao was no exception. Here too, he staged a tiatr. This tiatr created a record of sorts as it turned out to be the first ‘All Ladies Show’. The Tiatr was staged all over Goa in 1980.
Rosary created history yet again when his Konkani Drama "Kuwait Soddun Vetana" was staged in Kuwait by the Mangalorean Konkani community in a Mangalorean dialect in the year 2009. The original drama was in Goan Roman Konkani which was well received by the Goan audience as one of the classic masterpieces of the great writer.
A very humble and soft spoken person, Rosary Ferns strived through Konkani stage and cultural programs to bring about fusion of all the Konkani speaking people in Kuwait, Mangalorean and Goans in particular. In the past, he wrote and directed Songit Sanz under Kuwait Konknni Kendr.
Rosary also encouraged and promoted young and budding artistes and developed them into full fledged artistes.
Rosary Ferns is on record to have staged more Tiatros in Kuwait than any other artiste and all of his tiatros have been well attended and appreciated by the audience. In fact in Kuwait, he created a special and very precious niche for himself among the audience. For this reason his tiatros were handsomely attended not just by Goans but also Mangaloreans and other Konkani speaking people.
In August 2005, for his enormous contribution in the promotion of Konkani Songit Kala, Rosary Ferns was honored by the Mangalorean Association Konkani Kulvar, Kuwait. He was also felicitated by Kala Mogui Kuwait (KMK) in 2010 at the hands of the Indian Ambassador to Kuwait.
Besides tiatrs, Rosary wrote a number of One Act Plays, Operettas, Mandos & Dulpods and countless songs. As a matter of interest Rosary was the first person in the history of Goan-Konkani world to produce the first CD of songs which was made in Kuwait. In all, Rosary has produced 13 Konkani Albums in the form of Audio Cassettes & CDs. ‘Kuwaitche Dinar’ (Dinars of Kuwait), ‘Raag’ (Anger), etc, were some of his famous CDs.
He was known for his powerful solos with a message of good morals, upholding religious doctrines and beliefs.
Rosary’s last Album 'Dinaracho Valor' (The value of Dinar) was his last Audio CD. Additionally, he produced 2 VCDs 'Kanvllo Roddlo Lozen' (The Crow cried in Shame) and 'Mogan Tujea Lasota' (Burning in your Love).
Incidentally, at the time he breathed his last, Rosary was working on a video album entitled ‘Thank You Kuwait”.

IS CHURCHILL ALEMAO 15% COMMISSION?
In Pakistan when his wife Benazir Bhutto was premier, Asif Zardari the current President of Pakistan was demanding 10% commission for him after every contract officially signed. Because of this Zardari was named as Mr. 10% commission. If Damu Naik proved his allegations against Churchill Alemao of getting 15% commission, will Churchill Alemao be called as Mr. 15% commission?? Public figures are into the hands of public who can judge and comment on them as they deem fit. And even if they are wrong, who can stop public from commenting on public figures publicly? One thing is certain; Churchill Alemao has lost much of his former shine when he was accused by Damu Naik. Churchill Alemao must be thinking to dislodge Damu Naik from Fatorda constituency in the coming election but thru this debate shown live on TV Damu Naik’s ratings enhanced immensely not only in his constituency but also all over Goa making people to think that by all means Damu Naik like his boss Parrikar is required in the Goa Legislative Assembly and as such he should be re-elected.
Churchill Alemao according to information has vowed to dislodge Damu Naik from Fatorda Constituency by using all his available powers but there is a fear that while concentrating on Damu Naik, Churchill Alemao may lose his own Seat to Luizinho Faleiro in Navelim. Indications are there that Luizinho Faleiro is getting election ticket from Congress High Command to re-contest election from Navelim constituency. As it is many Navelkars in Kuwait are a strong support of Luizinho. Will Kuwait Navelkars in the forthcoming election change the tide in favour of Luizinho Faleiro who as Parrikar said in the Assembly last time that Luizinho will surely going to win in Navelim, as told by Luizinho to Parriakr. As it is from unconfirmed reports, next in line to visit Kuwait after next week’s visits of Reginaldo and Mickey will be of Luizinho Faleiro to canvass support from his Navelkar brothers and sisters working in Kuwait.
Churchill Alemao will find it very difficult to challenge everyone together. Challenging Luizin Faleiro, Damu Naik, Congress Low Command and Congress High Command will destroy Churchill only. And by the way, Alemaos in Goa are not Kennedys in USA nor Nehrus-Gandhis in Delhi nor Thakurs in North India. Alemaos are having few pockets as their own supporters but not the whole Goa. Churchill Alemao must stop challenging the force of nature which will surely overpower him.

FAKE MIGHT OF GOAN MINISTERS EXPOSED.
Churchill Alemao is a very gigantic man having gigantic physique and gigantic financial power but lacking in intellectual power. His power was converted into Nothing by his opponent in the Goa Legislative Assembly by the small stature BJP MLA Damu Naik from Fatorda Constituency who showed his intellectual smartness much better than that of Churchill Alemao. Mr. Naik was ably supported by his leader Monhohar Parrikar who proved to be the best legislator in the current Legislative Assembly. He was like the late Enio Pimenta of UG in the first Goa Legislative Assembly. Parrikar’s need in the Assembly as a Legislator is a must and those who are interested in justice they must support his re-election even though his BJP Party is anti-Christian in Goa and anti Minorities in India.
My request to Parrikar and also a suggestion to him: Please change your party policies from anti-Christian and anti-Minorities to Pro-Minorities and friendly to Christians in Goa. Congress is cashing on anti-Minorities policy of BJP otherwise no sensible Goan wants Congress rogues in Goa. Majority of Goan Christians in Goa are not pro-Congress but they are supporting Congress only because BJP is anti-minorities and anti-Christian in Goa under Parrikar. Under the present policy of BJP, survival of Christians under BJP rule is in danger. Hence, if Parrikar brings this change and shows friendly attitudes to Chrsitians and Muslims in Goa, I am sure Congress will get a royal kick in Goa. Secondly in India no party can rule for long by harassing minorities. The core of India is secular and secularism alone will survive in India. Hence, BJP must change its stand.
Coming back to Churchill Alemao and Damu Naik furious debate, Damu Naik addressing to the Speaker Prataph Singh said 'PWD is looting Goa and using public money for the personal gains of the minister'. Churchill challenged Damu to prove his wrong doings. Damu said 'Free Water Tanks supplied by Churchill to his constituents were without proper legal authorisation'. Churchill became furious on Damu and answered saying 'I have given the Water Tanks free of charge to the poor people'. For this Parrikar got up and like a genius parliamentarian asked Churchill 'there are so many poor people elsewhere in Goa including Porvorim where the shortage of Water is felt more, why not Water Tanks distributed to them free of charge?' Then Damu Naik furiously and bluntly like a teacher told Churchill 'you just sit down, I am telling Speaker Sir, you just keep quiet'. And Churchill like a kindergarten boy sat down when Speaker also commanded him to do so.
Another giant of Alemao family in the Assembly, Joaquim Alemao also a Minister like his brother was reprimanded ferociously by Mauwin Godinho saying 'dont show me your dadagiri, I am not afraid' and addressing to the Spaker Godinho said 'Speaker Sir, tell him to control him'
During this Assembly session those who are known for using their brute power outside the Assembly Hall were made mosquitoes inside the Assembly Hall with the impression saying 'dadagiri kortat mae laguim na tor tumcheam naikinnim laguim'.
Narvenkar clamouring for the blood of Jr. Rane even got up from his Chair supported by BJP members and rushed to the Well shouting at Speaker. He did his homework very well against the menace of non-Goan colonies developed at Carassvado in Mapusa. It was very interesting debate he conducted. Even his reprimanding Jr. Rane for converting new Asilo Hospital at Mapusa into a private enterprise was excellent. Narvenkar’s challenge, eloquence and logic were very well measured. But can one rely on Narvenkar that he will support these causes sincerely? I am sure all these debates he does because he was stripped of his portfolio by Digambar Kamat. In case he is again inducted into the Cabinet, I am sure Narvenkar will forget everything and embrace all the wrong decisions of Goa Government.
According to experts in Goan Legislative history, this time was the best debate held in Goa as Opposition played its role very well by giving facts and figures very meticulously squeezing the marbles of Ministers well and thereby keeping the Government Ministers on toes constantly.
The problem of Goa and Goans is that we do not have sincere people in the Assembly because our voters are not sincere to Goa and Goans. Are Goans real Goans or they are illegitimates for supporting and electing anti-Goan representatives?
