THE NAVELIM ORGANISED SOCCER FEST. ON 15 & 22 OF THIS MONTH, IN KUWAIT.

The NAVELIM SOCCER FEST 7-a-side football tournament will get underway at Surra Stadium this weekend. A total of 18 teams are expected to take part in the tournament to be played on 15th and 22nd October 2009. Indian Strikers (Kerala), DHL, Skynet, G.O.A. Maroons, CRC Chinchinim, Kuwait Goans, AVC, Santos United, US Stars, Veterans Club, etc, are some of the prominent Kuwait teams among Indians that have confirmed their participation.

Matches will begin from 6.30 pm onwards and wind up by 10 pm. The tournament is sponsored by Gulf Custody Company, leading Fund Custody and Administration service providers in the Middle-East. The SOCCER FEST promises a festivity of soccer for players and spectators as it is going to be played as indicated by one of the members of the organising committee, on International standard 7-a-side ground i.e half the size of the normal playing field, floodlights and grass grounds.

“We wish to promote friendship among Indian players, clubs and communities, expose football talent through the game, and entertain football lovers,” stated Gasper Crasto, former Salgaocar player and chief coordinator of the Navelim Soccer Fest.

Now Gasper Crasto is on the forefront to organise this tournament along with his other colleagues while earlier it was Custodio Crasto from the same village of Gasper Crasto along with others to be on forefront to initiate our competitive soccer at Sour Grounds in 1979. Gasper Crasto played for Salgaocar and Goa after the exit of Portuguese from Goa while Custodio Crasto also played for Salgaocar and Goa during the Portuguese regime in Goa. Both Gasper Crasto and Custodio Crasto have brought name and fame for Navelim, Goa and Kuwait Goans thru the medium of soccer which can create strong friendship among us in Kuwait. As it is, soccer is become a great unifying factor of human beings. Let this NAVELIM ORGANISED 7-A-SIDE SOCCER FEST UNITE US ALL.

Thanks Anthony Veronica.
You must do something about the banks that are supporting financially Vedanta minng company (Sesa Goa). Amongst those banks include National bank of Kuwait and First Gulf Bank.

Click below for the complete list: http://mandgoa.blogspot.com/2009/10/banks-that-finance-vedanta.html. We are thinking on this in Goa.

Warmly,
Seby.

This is why they are called Goans and not malyalees, mangaloreans or Tamilians. "Ap-apnank ani Dev somestank". Goan mentality will never improve. Do what you can and leave the rest. The same mentality has now put Goa in the hands of the 'ghattis'.
