ON 16th of
this month at 5.30 PM after celebrating the Mass in the Nossa Senhora de
Piedade Chapel at Dando in Candolim, the Bishop of Goa, His Grace Most Rev. Filipe Neri Ferrao
inaugurated the beautifull Hall which is attached and annexed to the Chapel, in the presence of the local MLA/Minister for
Ports, RDA, Science & Technology & Waste Management who as per the open
declaration by the hosts was instrumental in getting all support, financial,
governmental and otherwise to the committee of the Chapel to go ahead in constructing this massive
edifice of one + one. The ground floor
looks very massive and it can easily accommodate around 800 Chairs for
Tiatros.

The Chapel of Nossa Senhora de Piedade
In fact there was a big
void in having big Halls in our locality as this and its utility will be done
by the Tiatros, Weddings and other such functions. The other VIP’s were Tomazinho Cardoso and
Asst.Parish Priest from Candolim Chuch. According to the committee members of
this Chapel Tomazinho Cardodo has guided them from the inception time and as a
token of gratitude they invited him as VIP guest.

While speaking during
the function, Tomazinho Cardoso being the son of this village realized the
importance of such a Hall and since he found this is the correct time, he put
his weight on going ahead with the nice Hall that is already surfaced in the
same compound as that for the Chapel.
