Since Tiatros staging is halted now because of
Corona Virus but UTube Channels are flourishing where you get lot of beautiful
songs and Films, one such Channel is of Olga where powerful political
songs are seen rendered by the only female Tiatrist known everywhere as the
Queen of Political songs, Olga Vaz. In the history of Tiatros, her name will be
kept written in the gold and the bold
capital letters as the first and till now the only female political singer. As
my “Ghanv-bhoinn” I salute her excellence not only in singing songs but songs of very
high political calibre that requires guts and daringness to face those whose
names are explicitly and openly indicated by her in her political songs. It is not an easy job to sing such powerful
political songs but you can do this from the Stage only if you have Kid
Boxerian politically talented courage. Olga is making herself and her village very
proud as did earlier by Young Menezes and Alexinho da Candolim. In fact Alexinho de Candolim made the name of
his village Candolim immortal and for this reason I bow my head to him. While
doing this, I ask all those Candoikars who are running the affairs of the
village should come out openly and felicitate her for her yeomen service
towards the Tiatro cause.
During those colonial days nobody could criticize the Government on any
ground but in India beyond the borders of Goa democracy was functioning where
anyone could criticize the Government for erring in running the State
administration. But to my regret and
surprise, trampling under their feet, the Indian administrators destroyed
beyond recognition the Constitutionally accepted
right to criticize the wrongs of the
Government and by doing this that such a
mighty Government of India arrested such a tiny Goan named as Kid Boxer for
singing a song criticising its biased and revengeful policy towards Goa. The small man of small size thru one of
his songs Tiatrist Kid Boxer put the
Indian Government into confusion till he
was arrested and imprisoned and deported to Goa which was then under Portugal.
This is the power of Tiatrist from Goa.
Recently Olga Vaz in her Channel rendnercd her most politically
powerful song on the subject of transferring of newly appointed Goa Governor
from Goa. This Governor was known to be
impartial and upright not tolerating any nonsense of Goa Government. Hence he became unwanted for the BJP
Government in Goa and thus he was transferred.
His transfer was unwarranted and as such it was a big loss for Goa.
In this song Olga openly asked “Governorak Konne danvddailo” and goes
further by saying: ani khuimchea chorak to
naka zalo? Tanne Papuk dhuvun kaddlo. Oh Goykara nidlai tor atam tori
utt. GMC hantun vochpak lokh bieta.
Portugalak borem magat tanni amkam apli Passport dili mhonn Goykar aiz
bhailea deshan vochon duddu kelo. Portuez Goyam aslet mhonn amkam zaitem borem
zalem zorui tanchi zulummshai amkam mandonkna.
And she said ‘VIVA PORTUGAL” for doing so much good for Goans.
I feel nobody should miss this song, it was in praise of Goa, Goan life
and also in praise of Portuguese Passports for Goans but not in support of
“zulumashaii” of Portugal. It is full of
Patriotic feeling for Goans. It was
very well composed and informative.
From this song one can easily deduce that Olga Vaz like her Tiatrist
husband Anil is well matured having vast knowledge of Goan affairs and Goan
politics.
