KUWAIT KONKNNI KENDR CONGRATULATES MANDD SOBHANN.
On Sunday 27th January 2008, at 10 pm, a new Guinness World Record for the Longest Singing Marathon by Multiple Singers was achieved by the Mandd Sobhann Cultural Organisation, in Managalore, India. This great world record was achieved in 40 hours without any rest breaks by a continuous stream of 44 different groups consisting of 1,711 singers including from Goa belting out 645 songs in the Konkani language.
KUWAIT KONKNNI KENDR fully appreciates what Mandd Sobhann has achieved for the cause of Konkani.
KKK, Eric Ozario and Mandd Sobhann always maintained a very good rapport. During his first ever visit to Kuwait about 10 years back, KKK hosted Eric Ozario and his troupe's "Bosnni" which was attended by many Goans in Kuwait. It was hosted at Abbasiya where Eric Ozario and his troupe consisting of his wife, son and two musicians entertained the Konkani audience. It consisted of discourse on Konkani language and Konkani culture by Eric Ozario and songs in Konkani and on Konkani. The whole programme of around 1.00 hour was beautifully rendered.
Later on when fund raising campaign was initiated for the establishment of Mandd Sobhann, Kuwait Konknni Kendr contributed its mite in the form of donation of Indian Rupees Ten Thousand Only.
Once again KKK congratulates Mandd Sobhann for raising Konkani to the pedestal thru this world record. KKK takes pride in this great achievement of Mand Sobhann.
