Well done Lawry Travasso. Your Tiatro Baulelim Fulam is excellent which
I saw today at 10.30 AM at Kala Academy Hall, Panjim. Since it was a house full much in advance, it
started in time. Musical score was beautifully provided by Norman Cardoso and
his troupe.
I know Lawry Travasso as a good
composer and singer but this is the first time I observed him as a good writer
and director also. Earlier by
interacting with him from close angle since on two occasions he stayed at my place
in Kuwait when we brought him to Kuwait to participate in the Shows of the late
Rosary Ferns, I noticed in him a lot of liking for intellectual and philosophical
subjects. Based on this liking he penned
down this Tiatro the title of which is figurative in sense in which the children
must reward their parents with good treatment and not with bad as Baulelim
Fulam. It is a must see for all the sons
to know how to treat their parents and thus avoid the devine punishment.
A small role in the ending part
of the Tiatro played by Lawry Tavasso was superb befitting the director’s
status and it is worth admiring. Mario Menezes role as a priest was good. Rosy Alvares played a nice role of a mother
while Chari excelled in the role of an ungrateful son. Others played their
roles well.
Comedy was very well performed by
John D’Silva, Sally and Richard who showed lot of enthusiasm. Given more opportunities he will be a good
asset for Konkani Stage.
In the Side Sow songs, some songs
were in line with the Holy season while others on different topics including
politics. Francis de Tuem rendered his
songs well so also Xavier Gomes, Marcus Vaz, Lawry Travasso and a duet by Tony
de Ribandar & Antonette de Maina. Rosy Alvares rendered her solo very well and
her sorrowful canto in one scene was very beautiful, by rendering beautifully
she gave an extra colour to it.
This Tiatro is again to be staged
at the same venue on 21st of this month at 7.45 pm.
Well enacted Tiatro by Lawry
Travasso and his troupe.
