GOAN SUPPORT FOR KUWAIT'S CAUSE.

Yesterday, 26th February, Kuwait celebrated 19th anniversary of its liberation from the 7 months of brutal invasion by Saddam Hussein’s Iraq. Kuwait was invaded by Saddam Hussein’s Iraq on 2nd August 1990. During its invasion period, lot of political activities took place all around the globe to highlight the plight of Kuwait and to demand liberation for Kuwait; in India, Goa is one place were lot of campaigning was done in condemnation of Iraq and in support of the liberation of Kuwait. This campaign was done by Kuwait Goan Evacuees under Goa-Kuwait Solidarity Center by organising public rallies on the streets of Panaji, the capital city of Goa and also public meetings in Panaji. Some of these rallies were also attended and addressed by Kuwaitis, one of them a ranking officer from Kuwait Ministry of Interior.

After the liberation of Kuwait, again Kuwait Goans under Goa-Kuwait Solidarity Center organized a strong campaign in support of the freedom of Kuwait’s Prisoners of War who were captured by the Iraqis during its invasion period of Kuwait. This campaign was conducted by organising public meetings under G-KSC at Hotel Plaza Ballroom, Kuwait City, these meeting were organised from 1992 till the fall of Saddam Hussein on every 26th of February and they were attended and addressed by the top Kuwaitis, Diplomats and other people from different nationalities including representatives of Kuwait Catholic Church.

To create more awareness and campaign on this subject of POW’s, the Convenor of Goa-Kuwait Solidarity Center, Mr. A. Veronica Fernandes on his own, in January 1995 especially flew to New Delhi and handed over Memoranda to top world leaders stationed in India to seek their intervention with Saddam Hussein to release Kuwait’s POW’s; Mr. Veronica Fernandes took the help of Mr. K. H. Khan the Chairman of Indo-Arab Friendship Society, Mr. Khan was also a Member of Parliament (Upper House).

UNITED GOANS CUP FINAL IN KUWAIT.

Seen in the picture above are the winners UFC.

United Goans Center, on Friday, 19th of this month at 9.00 AM, held the final of the 34th edition of their soccer tournament at Ministry of Health Ground, Shuwaikh, Kuwait. The final was played between the winners United Friends Club and the runners-up CRC Chinchinnim, the winners clinched the victory by one goal without reply, the all important goal was scored by UFC’s Rosario Fernandes from the spot kick in the first half. UGC organized this tournament under the auspices of Kuwait Indian Football Federation and co-sponsored by Gulf Bank, Kuwait. The Fair Play Team award in the name of former UGC President, the late Joe Fernandes, was presented to KGA.

United Goans Center is the oldest surviving soccer Club of Indians in Kuwait. It was established in 1976 and it started its first competitive soccer tournament for Indians in general and Goans in particular at the then famous Sour Ground in 1979. To initiate the first ever soccer tournament in 1979, UGC’s the then stalwarts namely Diogo Gomes from Bastora, Custodio Crasto from Navelim, Joe F.X. D’Souza from Assagao, Moses Menezes from Candolim, Tony Gonsalves from Divar, Joe Fernandes from Colva, Antonio Lawrence Fernades from Siolim and others gave their best not only to initiate but to keep it going. Some of the above named stalwarts are no more in Kuwait now, some are dead while some retired from Kuwait while Tony Gonsalves is still going strong and doing a wonderful job for the club and soccer with the help of the new comers, including Pascoal Afonso their current president. Because of the initiative of UGC then, soccer for us Goans and other Indians is still surviving and going strong. It is become a very good link for very many to get many positive benefits. The small and the first step initially taken by UGC then proved to be a momentous and gigantic, its titanic effects are still creating ripples amongst us in Kuwait.

Because of our football activities many boys got many benefits from their clubs, many unknown persons became known in society otherwise they would remain as non entities inspite of having position, power, status and money. For many of them, it was our soccer that made them famous. All of them should be grateful to UGC not only to create history but also to keep the history alive.

Since its inception, many great Goan players played soccer in our tournaments, some of them not only donning the colours of great Goan teams in Goa but many of them donning the colours of Goa and India. For this reason those days the standard of our soccer in Kuwait was high compared to what it is now. Many of those days players were seasoned and matured while coming to Kuwait itself and not the freshers as many are now who learnt to kick the football in Kuwait. Besides, during those days there was no dirty and unChristian politics going on as it is now for the destruction of our soccer and unity. Those who are involved in creating disorder and splits in the smooth functioning of our soccer have never played any role in the initial stages to promote our soccer in Kuwait, they never have experienced any hardship as UGC. Besides, UGC has sacrificed a lot not only to start but also to keep the momentum of our soccer going.

Seen in the picture below is Cajetan Godinho receiving a Memento (Donated by Mr. & Mrs. Joseph D'Souza) from UGC President Pascoal Afonso.

Seen in the picture above is Assumption Aguiar giving a Memento (Donated by Albano Pinto) to Miss Abigail Corte, the promising athlete from Indian community School, Salmiya.

Among all the current and yesteryears footballers, Cajetan Godinho from Majorda carries unique distinction to last for such a long period as a player. He played in the first ever league cum knock tournament initiated by UGC at Sour ground and from then till now for the last 30 years he is playing, though at slower pace now. In the beginning he represented now defunct but then mighty team Goan Sporting and the first and the inaugural match of the first ever tourney he played was against Salmiya Youth of Peter D’Souza(Bosch) which was captained by me. Cajetan Godinho was that time like a hero of the field controlling and orchestrating the midfielf majestically well though they lost to our team by two goals to nil but finally went on winning the final, played at Ahmadi KOC Ground defeating UGC, thanks to Cajetan Godinho’s super display of constructive soccer. Playing against him I know how difficult it was to fathom his moves. He was always clean and decent on the field never receiving any Card, neither Red nor Yellow, not even verbal caution from the the Umpires. During one final of Sheikh Agnelo's tournament at Sour Ground in mid eighties, the Brazilian Coach of Kuwait National Team, Carlos Lopes in his capacity as a Chief Guest selected Cajetan Godinho as the best player of the final and while delivering his speech in Portuguese showered abundant praises on Cajetan Godinho's socker skills. And when I spoke to him, Lopes remarked in Portuguese "Godinho!! Grande Jogador". As a mark of appreciation he was presented by the organizers with a Memento after the final on 19th.

One of the great Goan athletes of yesteryears who made his great mark on the Athletics Field of Goa and made his presence felt on that day for the final as a guest was Assumption Aguiar from Divar. During his school days at Monte de Guirim in mid sixties as a boarder, he was the fastest runner of Goa excelling in 100, 200 and 400 metres and with these three important items he won the individual Championship at All Goa Athletics Meet held at Dom Bosco Ground, Panjim in 1965-66. In that meet he even defeated the mighty Sardarjis from Cops of Signal (Millitary) stationed at Ponda and Bambolim. Special Sardarjis and other competent Millitary athletes were brought by the Goa based Indian military from other parts of India only to defeat our Goan Assumption Aguiar but our Aguiar made them mosquitoes. In that Meet in 1965-66, Aguiar was winning individual championship in senior division and I was winning individual championship in junior division also coming out first in 100, 200 and 400 metres, flying the flag of Lions of Arpora high, of course to the thunderous applauding of many of the ex Arporites who gathered to greet Arpora School athletes in that great Meet.

Seen in the picture below is Brigidio Fernandes giving the Man of the Trophy Award (Donated by Leo Coutinho).

Seen in the picture above is UGC stalwart Tony Gonsalves delivering his welcome speech. To his right is Mrs. Pascoal Afonso and to the extreme left wearing Sun Glasses is Mrs. Aguiar, next to her husband seated.

Brigido Fernandes was yet another guest whom I spotted during the final. Brigidio hailing from Siolim was studying at Arpora with me, though he was senior to me, he was an ace footballer of Goa playing for Sesa Goa with me. A sharp shooter and accurate goal scorer, he also played for the then might Calangute in the first division. His skilfull soccer was even applauded by the sporting genius of Goa, the late Fr. Mendonca the then principal of Arpora School. Like me, he had to cut short his soccer career due to injury which he suffered in Bombay while in practice session when he and me clashed each other when we went to play for Rovers Cup. He was a solid muscular boy using both his legs with equal ease.

After the final, in his speech the president of KIFF Fidelis Fernades praised the organizers for organising this tournament successfully. The president of UGC Pascoal Afonso proposed the vote of thanks while Tony Gonsalves welcomed the teams, guests and spectators.

Bird Watching: Mitra Birding at Carambolim - Goa

Bird watching: Mitra Birding at Carambolim, Goa
By Tallulah D'Silva - Panjim, Goa.

Goa has in recent times seen a number of budding small groups enthused with promoting nature treks and birding. Based at Ponda, one named MITRA has in recent times made a foray into eco activities and with a huge fan following too.

MITRA in Sanskrit means Sun, the source of all life on Earth.

MITRA comprises of young students/individuals that have been popularizing eco sensitivity and awareness about local flora and fauna through many of its treks and activities. The credit of initiating an interest in and a love for nature goes to their teacher and mentor, Ajay Dongre who got them together as part of a Nature Club way back in school. Only a few of them stuck to their passion later on and although pursuing further studies in different streams founded MITRA and thus began an interesting journey of discovering the greens around Ponda.

MITRA's focus is primarily on building awareness about Goa's rich bio heritage and its conservation. Although having organized treks initially in the Mollem area, they have now set sights on other interesting birding sites as well. The recent one on 7th February 2010 was at Carambolim Lake, a known hotspot for migratory birds during winter.

MITRA also conduct related activities like nature orientation camps, lectures by field experts, discussions on environmental issues and even have an animal rescue cell at Ponda. Having been on most of their treks what attracts keen participants is the tact with which they divide all the participants into smaller groups, recommend on observing a trekking etiquette, anti littering and disperse them separately with team leaders so that each can enjoy the experience more intimately with nature.

When in large groups, many a time, this experience turns sour when participants lack certain sensitivity amidst nature and are oft associated with our urban culture, one that is rife with boisterousness, blaring cell phone music, unnecessary flamboyance and a lack of civic sense.

MITRA boasts of members like Omkar Dharwadkar, Rohan Naik, Saish Khandeparkar, Kaustaub Naik, Aniket Amshekar, Mandar Gaude and Utkarsh Tilve, who are not only committed but also resourceful in their knowledge of local plant, insect and bird species. The recent birding at Carambolim had the highest turnout of roughly 65 participants both young and old, keen to learn and excited to be outdoors. With a brief introduction by Ajay Dongre, an avid birder and wildlife enthusiast himself, all were quickly divided into groups of 8 to10 and sent off in different directions.

The trail began at the bridge next to the Station, continued along the railway tracks, along the edge of the lake and a walk into the adjacent fields.

Although quick to assume at first sight that there were very few species, most participants who were birding for the first time were treated to a delightful session of spotting a good variety of waders, dabblers and other species typical to ponds, pond edges and agricultural habitats. Some were excited to spot the little Grebe (or Dabchick, a small water bird) in all its rufous finery making a quick dip in pursuit of fish. Others were thrilled to see groups of Lesser Whistling Teals well camouflaged in the lake vegetation and as easily making themselves visible with an audible whistling as they flapped around. Cotton Pygmy Goose and Garganeys too. The Darter or Snake Bird made a classic entry as it flew low and dipped gracefully. The little Cormorant did its bit of drying its water laden wings after a long dive for food.
A trail along lush green fields
Walking along a canal
Small pratincoles
Bronze winged jacana
Pond herons
Kingfisher

Other waders that could be spotted easily were the commonly seen Pond Herons, a Purple Heron, Cattle Egrets, Little Egret, Intermediate Egret, Bronze winged Jacana, Pheasant Tailed Jacana, Red Wattled Lapwing, Common Green Shank, Wood Sandpiper and Common Moorhen.

The highlight of the trip was the large flock of Small Pratincoles that sat on grassy mounds and pathways all along the green fields and a couple of Asian Openbill Storks that soared around us in a wonderful black and white display.

As small groups walked along trails across the agricultural patches some spotted Black Drongos, Small Blue Kingfisher, White Breasted Kingfisher, a pair of Eurasian Marsh Harriers, Ibises, Paddy Field Pipits, Common Stonechats, White rumped Munias and Wagtails while others discovered a large group of Purple Swamp hens in a low lying swamp.

After a rather long walk back all were treated to some delicious samosas and an exchange of pleasantries amongst new participants. It all ended well with a brief interactive session with Paresh Porob, Range Forest Officer, Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary, recently back from a training stint at the Wildlife Institute of India at Dehradhun.

Kudos to the young team from MITRA for having pulled off such an interesting Birding session at the Carambolim Lake.

KONKANI CD "DOGUI BODMAS"

KONKANI CD "DOGUI BODMAS", PRODUCED BY CALVERT GONSALVES.
Cover page of the CD "Dogui Bodmas"

Releasing the CD "DOGUI BODMAS"

Displaying of the CD "DOGUI BODMAS" after the release.
Most talked and most listened Konkani Album ever produced by anybody in Konkani world, is the recently released CD “Dogui Bodmas” produced by Colva villager and village Panch Mr. Calvert Gonsalves. Musical score was beautifully provided by music director Joaozinho D”souza and the instruments used are: Violin and Mandolin by Victor Da Costa; Drums by Jack Rebello & Aurvile Rodrigues; Rhythm & Lead Guitar by Chris Correia; Bass Guitar by Sergei Godinho; Keyboard by Rohan; Flute by Joaquim D’Souza and Trombone by Sammy Braganza.
Lyrics by: Calvert Gonsalves.
Retail Price: Rs. 150/-

This CD consists of 12 songs and they are all worth listening. No doubt they are all hard hitting on a Colva Church Priest and a Goa Minister supposed to be Mickey Pacheco exposing their corrupt way of life yet musical part of this CD is better than songs though they are excellently rendered and beautifully composed. One feels like not only listening minutely to the excellent lyrics but also the excellent musical part of it. Calvert Gonsalves who took one and a half year to complete this CD has done his job wonderfully well even though he was new to this trade and not a known tiatrist himself. According to my information gathered from here and there, over 50 thousand copies of this CD are already in circulation. Nobody in the past among the Goan tiatrists and singers managed to put into circulation such a colossal number. Some of the copies are voluntarily circulated by the interested persons to spread the gospel rendered in this CD.
The controversy generated into this CD is well known and because of this controversy, the importance and fame of this CD touched to the peak. When its sale was banned thru court order, (this ban has already been lifted by the superior court on 17.02.10), people’s curiosity aroused in this CD because “forbidden fruit is always tasty”. There are more songs in this CD touching the moral and corrupt life a Goa Government Minister. He is not only exposed on his misdeeds such as rapes, forcing sex on a 14 year girl, concubinage and sexual perversion but also disgraced beyond imagination. That he has not so far committed a suicide itself is a big mystery. But our Montris are always shameless. Listeners are more applauding the disgracing of the minister than scandalizing the priest. It is a lesson for all corrupt and sexually perverted priests, Ministers and MLA’s to be careful in future because the moment the politicians acquire the ministerial berth and political power, and priests their priestly robes, their first choice is illicit sex. There are many priests, MLA’s and Ministers doing this type of nonsense in Goa and Calvert Gonsalves is a good lesson for their misdeeds. In this respect Dogui Bodmas CD is very educative and informative for ignorant people to get lot of knowledge on the misdeeds of the people whom we wrongly revere.

The exposure of a priest in this CD is less than that of a Minister but what Calvert said in this CD of a Priest has so far nobody denied, so far nobody said the contents are false, not even the big boss at Altinho Panjim denied. The sanctity of the Church and credibility of the priests have been totally disgraced in this CD by highlighting the sexual life of a priest. That this Goa Bishop like a small “Potto” supporting such priests itself is a mystery. It is nicely disclosed how the priest got involved in sex scandal against his priestly vow of celibacy. It is not only this particular priest involved in such a scandal but there are innumerable priests involved in sex scandals in Goa, many of them made their concubines as their slaves. Adoring and respecting such priests knowing their dirty habits is a great injustice on Catholic faith, faithful should reject such priests otherwise their wrong doings will receive recognition from the faithfuls thereby allowing them to go scot free and finally disgrace Catholics. Non Catholic denominations are mushrooming in Goa only because of such Catholic priests who do not care for their respect nor for the religion they practice. This type of corruption among priests going on in Goa only because our “kalcho porcho potto” Bishop is inefficient like his predecessor. This “potto” will destroy Catholicsm in Goa if there is no control on him.

Last week, I had an opportunity to meet with Calvert Gonsalves along with his troupe including singers Osvi Viegas and Rosario de Benaulim, at Hotel Mandovi, Panaji where I discussed with him and his troupe the controversy surrounding this CD.

Calvert Gonsalves is from Colva and politically very conscious and looks very matured, he is the Panch from Colva Panchayat, this is his third term. That means he got very good following in his locality. He is an educated young man having done his schooling at an elite institute, at Mount Abu and graduating from Bombay University. He spent a few years in the Gulf doing business at Sharjah in UAE. It is thru his educational background he said that he learnt to fight against injustice to bring about positive changes in society, hence the production of CD Dogui Bodmas. To one of my queries he said he is an upright man and not cheated anyone. When I pointed out to him that some Colvakars in Kuwait are talking ill of him, he said some of them were the beneficiary of his assistance and still he said he will assist them in case they approach him for any help. On another question, he said there was no support of any sort from Churchill Alemao for him to produce CD Dogui Bodmas though he added that he maintained good rapport with Churchill. To another query, he said he was expecting some opposition to this CD but surely not the way it happened. Then he added, the people who came to destroy his house were Ghanttis hired by the minister who was scandalized in this CD.

It seems every hired Ghantti and every person who came to create rowdism at his house when his aged parents were inside was paid around 500 rupees by the minister. It looks to me with the excuse of the priest’s scandal, the minister got his revenge. Good that Calvert was not at home during that time otherwise they might have even killed him because Police were supporting the goondas hired by the Minister. For my further question, he said he accepted this confrontation as a challenge and he will fulfill this challenge by releasing shortly his Video CD showing the trouble created at his house by the hired goons of the Minister. Calvert said his forthcoming VCD will be very interesting, he is working on it now. In all probability, he may release it in the Gulf.
On those who vowed to boycott the singers participated in CD Dogui Bodmas, Calvert said they are all peanuts suffering from the same type of sins as that of Colva Priest and the minister. By boycotting my singers they are shielding themselves from the illicit sexual sins they are committing with their female artiste mistresses from their own troupes by cheating their wives. Then Osvi interrupted and vowed to expose them from the stage; for one tiatrist by exposing his illicit affairs of flirting with his female artiste concubine by cheating his innocent wife, this female artiste is acting like the owner of the troupe for this reason she expels whichever other female artistes she does not like, one such victim is in Kuwait. For Comedian “Pozddo”, Osvi said he will expose his sexually abusive actions of taking female artistes to a flat in Margao with the excuse of writing the drama. Respectable parents, husbands and brothers must stop their daughters, wives and sisters from associating with this once shepherd boy and the current Pozddo Comedian with full of filth in his tongue, he is a disgrace on the decency of Konkani stage. The other two according to Osvi are worst than Minister scandalized in the CD Dogui Bodmas. One of these two was guilty in Muscat for duping innumerable Goans of their hard earned money, for this reason he is not going to Muscat out of fear for his life. The fourth is also guilty of the sin of Fr. Diogo by keeping one of his female artistes as his concubine who was later on expelled by his wife. Those tiatrists who keep concubines by cheating their wives are real “Rostad Tiatrists”. And those who commit the sins of “Jose Rod” of boycotting their tiatrist colleagues are double “Rostad”.

When Kid Boxer in Bombay was arrested for singing anti-National song, the tiatrists fraternity in Bombay stood behind their colleague Kid Boxer while in Goa some tiatrists vowed to boycot those singers participated in Dogui Bodmas. This is a nice way to apply “Mosko” to Goa Church and Padris to market their shows thru Padris. God knows those tiatrists having their concubines must be supplying them to the priests and ministers to get material benefits. Those who vowed to boycot other tiatrists are intellectually bankrupt.

It was a grand finale to the tournament with participating teams in attendance at the ceremonial function to sing their National Anthem.

The teams were drawn into 3 groups for a round robin league with the top two and best two third placed teams playing in quarterfinals.

India took an early lead in the fast paced final off a corner kick taken by Americo Fernandes.  However, the physically strong Nigerians drew level within minutes through a goal by striker Duke.

The rest of the game was a see-saw battle between the sides with Nigeria playing more of the offensive trying to force their way for a winner while India played a measured, swift passing game occasionally attacking from the wings. WELCOME TO CAPUCHINS IN KUWAIT.

Greetings!!

“They came, they preached and touched the hearts of the faithful.”

While conveying our heartiest congratulations to Rev. Fr. Gaspar Fernandes - OFM Cap and Rev. Fr. Andrew Francis - OFM Cap on their installation as Parish priests of Holy Family Cathedral Kuwait City, and Our Lady of Arabia Church Ahmadi respectively on 22nd January 2010, we would like to thank our Bishop, His Lordship Camillo Ballin, mccj for giving to us the faithful in Kuwait, the New Year’s gift of the Capuchin Friars. This is a welcome move and I am confident that the faithful in Kuwait will spiritually benefit tremendously from this change.

It is now a perfect balance of the clergy in Kuwait, with the Salesians of Don Bosco looking after the Salmiya parish and the Capuchin Friars Kuwait City and the Ahmadi parish.

The Capuchin Friars served at Our Lady of Rosary Church, Doha – Qatar and have done excellent contribution to the Parish. According to my family members and friends in Qatar they are dearly missed by the parishioners. They say that the loss of Qatar is a gain for Kuwait.

Incidentally this auspicious installation day 22nd January coincides with events in San Padre Pio’s life where on the 22nd January 1903 San Padre Pio of Pietrelcina took the Franciscan Habit and the name Brother Pio and a year later on 22nd January 1904, Bro. Pio knelt before the altar and made his first profession of the Evangelical Counsels of Poverty, Chastity and Obedience. Pray Mother Mary and San Padre Pio intercede to God Almighty to bless our Bishop and Capuchin Friars with good health and wisdom to serve the faithful in the Vine Yard of Christ.

With our prayerful best wishes,

Mario Rebello and family,

On Colva Church Bells disgraced.

SUB: "COLVA CHURCH BELLS DISGRACED.":
Veronica,
Was anxiously waiting for some type of write ups on the CD as it was a Long Wait which finally came on print. I am also surprised that none of the readers have any comments on the subject other than few, not that I expect all to do so but my Gut feeling is that their BODY is HEARTLESS.

In regards to your article on COLVA CHURCH BELLS DISGRACED, I would like to just make few points in that regards and also what I m hearing from my sources. I think Mr.Vaz will have to answer that.

Your 1st para is rightly worded. People using the Church Bells for wrong reasons should be condemed. I do not understand why the artistes of the CD have to hide, WHY ??? can anyone explain? I see no reason if you call Spade a Spade unless u call Spade a Heart. Cowards comments! I am some how very curious as to know my guts feeling about the Bishop. He must be asking himself why should I be responding to Veronica on the subject and who is Veronica to ask me so u keep that on Wait.

I listened the CD and liked it don't know how far the truth is but I have noted that there are more songs on Micky Pacheco than the priest. My big Q is why people are only harping on the priest songs? There are so many things in the Songs which are in reference to Micky which i cannot digest, one is " 14 Years Old GIRL going to College????? RARE CASE OR ACE STUDENT WITH DOUBLE PROMOTIONS???? some one should shed more lights.

In regards to your 3rd para , I agree with you that there have to be some type of CHECK on the priest and I will say even the Bishop have to be in that category in one word" AUDITORS" ???. Just a suggestion but who will listen to me on the issue? It will be on the deaf EARS. My happiness is that I opened it up.

In regards to Thiatrists coming up with CD's connected to the priests, is it the right way of solving the issue?? We Catholics Need some type of thinking before its too late.

Your last para says that you spoke to few priests on the subject and internally they support the CD then I say these priests are disgrace to the Church if they cannot say a Spade is a Spade, all those priests hide under the BED you all have to Guts" ANSWER TO GOD as we al have to ". Can you'll challenge the Bishop if you'll know that there are wrong doings in the Catholic Church?BULSHIT NO WAY YOU CAN'T.

We have never heard of the other Christian Sects in Goa before as it is now and who is to be blamed ???I say the ALTHINO HOUSE.

Regarding Calvert as a person, I believe that that he was one of the main Micky's man before, so what changed now? Rumours are that Senior Alemao played a big part in this game ( percentage of INRS 1000 CORE commision of the Sewage project initiated by Mr. Alemao ? ) as so in John Fernandes Rape case. People from Salcette open your EYES. Election on its way and everyone is looking for safe HEAVENS.

I heard that Calvert was a person who used to take APTA from the Lammanis in Colva and those are the Lammanis who STONED his house and not the Ghantis who it was disclosed that Micky paid money and brought them to Colva. It is also news that Calvert was accused of some misbehaviour or misconduct with some Lamanis females and when the issue was raised with complaint he was hidden by a priest in Goa to avoid the arrest. I hope his spokesperson who 1000% agree with Calvert for al is said and done in CD, Mr.Vaz will shed the truth in this matter.

My other source also tells me that Mr. Osvi was also involved in illicit affairs in Dubai with a married female in Dubai.

So I will say " DON'T THROW STONE ON A GLASS HOUSE WHEN YOU ALSO LIVE IN GLASS HOUSE".
Let the truth prevail.
Long Live Catholic Faith.

COLVA CHURCH BELLS DISGRACED.

As I said earlier, during “not normal time” Church Bells are rung to indicate some troubles in the Church or to show happiness over the election of a new Pope. Again on 4th of this month Colva Church bells were rung when Calvert Gonsalves came officially to attend the Panchayat meeting as a Panch member. Calvert Gonsalves was not hiding anywhere in Colva, he and Osvi Viegas are roaming all over Goa freely. Last week I met both of them at Margao Longinhas. Till such time as per the stories making rounds, I was also under the impression that Calvert and Osvi were roaming with masks on their faces. When I met them I realized how wrong I was by listening to the wrong persons.

Colva Church and its occupants are hunting for Calvert. For what reason? To kill him by calling all the parishioners? By ringing Church Bells for nonsensical purpose Colva Church authorities are misusing the purpose of the Church Bells. Bishop Filipe Neri keeping this Colva Church arrogance going on is something to be condemned. Calvert Gonsalves’ CD “Dogui Bodmas” is well received by the people in Kuwait and so far not only in Kuwait but even in Goa nobody said anything bad of the contents of the CD. I did not hear anybody saying the contents or lyrics are wrong or false. I found best of music and best of lyrics, well worded and very well composed. So far nobody denied the contents. Congratulations to the lyricists, singers and musicians for making this Album a great success. Congratulations to the producer Calvert Gonsalves for producing such an excellent CD as never produced before by anyone.

The time is come now for the Goa Church to right the wrong priests who are all out to demolish the sanctity of the Church in Goa. Many of the priests in Goa are become corrupt and worldly. If they are unable to fulfill the vows they are taking then they should surrender their priesthood or better still they should not join the Seminary. The sanctity of our Church is spoiled more by the corrupt priests and who they are, the Bishop of Goa knows very well. During the regime of previous Bishop Raul Gonsalves, the crime of Sex captured the minds and hearts of the priests and under the current Bishop’s regime sex again with corruption have captured the hearts and minds of the priests.
In the absence of timely action against the erring priests by the Church leaders the character of many of the priests got spoiled. If Goa Bishop Rebello was prompt in taking action against Pe. Alvito Vaz at Candolim, for his indiscipline then, things would not have gone out of the hands and independent Church of Cuncolim would not have come into existence. But how the Church leaders will initiate disciplinary actions against those corrupt and sexually perverted priests when Church leaders themselves are suffering from the same malady? How a blind will lead another blind? Our priests are become corrupt because our Bishops are become corrupt and because of this corruption has engulfed our Church and spoiled the character of the priests.

The corruption in the Goa Church has reached to such a depth that best of goondas, best of pimps and best of prostitutes and concubines are in the hands of priests. Many of the priests in Goa are become worldly, they want their photos appear in the newspaper to make propaganda of their worldly and not Godly work. They want to show how much charitable and holy they are. They forget that they must not make known to their left hands what their right hands are doing. Pompousness is become their routine. I think people in Goa must judge them well and deal with them accordingly.
Meantime, following in the footsteps of Calvert Gonsalves, according to my information, one more Calvert is emerging who is going to release his new CD “MOJEM MAFALDINA” similar to “DOGUI BODMAS” referring to another priest guilty of the sins committed by Colva Priest and shielded by Bishop of Goa.

When I spoke to some priests on CD Dogui Bodmas, I got an impression that they internally support Calvert for releasing such a powerful CD that directly hits the wrong doings of the priest and more of a Minister. They said very good awakening is done thru this CD.
Finally, I strongly condemn the ringing of the Colva Church Bells by the Church people and Colvakars for ulterior purpose. It is not only a sin but a sacrilege to ring Church bells for nonsensical purpose. Goa Bishop Neri must not sleep over this serious issue, he must act fast to take corrective steps otherwise he will be held responsible for any damage done to the credibility and sanctity of Goa Church.
