This is to convey our deep gratitude to the President, members of the Kuwait Konkani Kendra at Kuwait and your kind self for remembering "Pai Tiatrist" on his 61st death anniversary. on 29th July,2008 as per the information received by us.

We are also grateful to the President , members of the Kendra, and your kindself for sharing our concern in maintaining the house of Pai Tiatrist and would welcome any gesture from tiatrists and other well meaning people in supporting our endeavours.

Sir you are aware that the Ravindra Bhavan indoor auditorium at Fatorda has been named "Pai Tiatrist" Joao Agostinho Fernandes indoor Auditorium by the Government of Goa, on 20th July, 2008 and ever since that day several persons have visited our home and encourgaged us to maintain his home and personal effects manuscript for posterity.

The house is in a pitiable state and hence we have requested the Chief Minister of Goa to provide us financial assistance for repairs and maintainence of the same. We look forward to a positive response from him.

Kindly share our sentiments to all and we welcome the members of the Goan communityi worlwide and specially from the Kuwait Konkani Kendra Kuwait to visit our home and support our endeavours. This will be a moral encouragement to us in .

We also convey our thanks to the tiatrists and all those who have made this possible 61 years after his death, as a befitting tribute to his memory.

It is my request to all Tiatrists who are staging their Tiatros at Ravindra Bhavan, henceforth while making announcements of their Tiatros, to indicate only the Hall Name as "Pai Tiatrist"
and nothing else. The name "Ravindra Bhavan" is not essential since Pai Tiatrist is the only hall in Margao. People will understand the location when the name Pai Tiatrists is indicated. In this way, the image of Pai Tiatrist and the Tiatro Hall will be bright.

Secondly, after my last article on The House of Pai Tiatrist, I was expecting somebody to initiate a project plan for the renovation of the House of Pai Tiatrist and put it in front of the Government or public and lovers of Tiatro for the necessary action thru proper channel. But, up to now, nothing has been done. Somebody interested should apply his mind on this.

Lino Dourado's 'Aitaracheo Katkutleo' released

Utorda, Goa: 'Aitaracheo Katkutleo' a book of humorous essays in Roman script Konknni was released at an impressive function in Utorda by Damodar Mauzo, noted Konknni writer and Sahitya Akademi Award winner in the distinguished presence of Premanand Lotlikar, President, Dalgado Konknni Akademi (DKA) and Fr. Britto Fernandes, Parish Priest of Our Lady of Lourdes, Utorda. The function was organized by United Club of Utorda on 8.9.2008, at the parish hall.

Addressing the large gathering comprising of writers, dramatists, Konkani lovers, villagers of Utorda, and students, Damodar Mauzo congratulated the Kuwait-based writer Lino B. Dourado for organizing the book release ceremony in the village where he spent his growing years and reminded the audience of the special bond that exists between us and "our mother, mother-tongue and mother-earth".

He also exhorted those present on the occasion to make it a practice to speak and write in Konknni, so that the language is enrichened and sustained for posterity. There is nothing wrong in learning English he said, but, one should not forget or neglect one's mother tongue.

Premanand Lotlikar briefly narrated the objectives of Dalgado Konknni Akademi and appealed to everyone to promote Konknni in Roman script, and assured all necessary encouragement for writers in Roman script Konknni language, from DKA.

Jose Salvador Fernandes, well known Konknni writer, Konknni lecturer, and Secretary of DKA, spoke on the book . As the name suggests, the essays in 'Aitaracheo Katkutleo', he said, not only tickle the reader but reveal the wisdom, wit and sarcasm of Lino B. Dourado as well. He complimented the writer for his keen sense of observation and for his tact in putting it in prose form. The book has been dedicated by the writer to his late parents Martinho Filipe Dourado and Antonetta Dourado. The book has been published under the Goa Konknni Akademi's 'Poilo Chonvor' Scheme, meant for new writers.

Konknni writer and poet Walter Menezes, Thomas C. Fernandes, Vincy Quadros, Editor of konknni magazine 'Jivit', Winner of Martyr Floriano Vaz Award 2007 for his book 'Koslich Malis Nastana' author Daniel F. de Souza, Romi Lipi Action Front Convenor, Wilmix Wilson Mazarello, Rev Fr. Martinho Dourado, Parish Priest Our Lady of Amparo Church, Mandur, Michael Gracias, and Tarkeshwar Naik, were present at the book release function.

Earlier, Mr. Wency Pereira, President of United Club of Utorda welcomed and Mrs. Connie Dourado delivered the vote of thanks. Lino Dourado and Fr. Britto Fernandes also spoke on the occasion.
