POLITICS OF MOLESTATION IN CANDOLIM.

It is now over a week that this news has been buzzing all over Candolim and other parts in  Calangute constituency.  As per the information I gathered, a lady panch member of Candolim Panchayat complained to the Calangute Police station saying that she was molested by two persons from Candolim.   Earlier the same lady similarly complained to the Calangute Police Station saying that she was molested by another man from Candolim only.   It looks ridiculous to know that these cases are happening to the same lady twice. As for me I find it difficult to believe this news because I know both these men including the first one too thoroughly well and as such they will never commit such a scandalous act. I can easily vouch for their integrity that they will never do this act.

Incidentally, all the three accused men are prominent public figures and well known  activists in Candolim.  There is a move in my  constituency to liquidate those who oppose ODP while all the three activists are the strong opponents of PDA and ODP which according to them will do more harm than good.  It is rubbish to accept the statement that “if the ODP plan is approved there will be lot of  development in the Calangute constituency”.  But this development will come at what cost?   At the cost of our houses, fields and other properties which will go into the hands of builders who by being in close association with the big man of the constituency will definitely destroy the natural beauty of Calangute constituency and also the livelihood of the locals.

To molest any lady is not that simple especially when there are so many people around the lady. By filing false cases it looks this lady is trying to finish the activists from Candolim and get her and her mentor benefits thru builders who will not only molest but rape our land which is so important for us.  I strongly feel that she must be sent to the psychiatrist for measuring her mental capacity. Otherwise, she will again come up with more such cases against the innocent locals.

We are in the Lent season and as said in the Bible “we must not give the false testimony against anybody”.  I feel now the Church leaders of Candolim Church must interfere in this matter and question that lady why she does this type of anti-Christian acts of filing false cases. The local Pe.Vigar as the fatherly figure and being the head of Catholicism in Candolim, should use his prerogative to put an end to this type of cheap politics to quench the thirst of revenge by the elected representatives. Many of the  ills of our society will get eradicated only if our Church is active in correcting the wrong doers. The statement of the Church leaders namely Pe. Viars and Pe.Curs saying "MAKAM KITEAK PODDLAM" will not help us in anyway.  It should be like this "hem makam poddlam" and since this is the case I must interfere in this matter since both the parties are Catholics.

GOONDDA SARPANCH.

Over a month ago, a delegation of some residents from one Vaddo below my nose went to meet the village Sarpanch in his office to discuss one particular topic.   In the course of their discussion, the Sarpanch used the life threatening language against the leader of the delegation saying “I can liquidate you easily by using my manpower meaning “goondas”.  This he said in front of others.  One of the elderly members of the delegation asked the Sarpanch not to speak like this because you being a Sarpanch it is not good for you to talk like this.  This is the goonda language spoken by goondas and the said Sarpanch is one perfect goonda enjoying full support from the 2 gangs of the local Ghantti residents residing as full fledged citizens of their locality and Goa as well. By the way, these Ghanttis who are settled in our villages, have anyone noticed whether their names from the voters list in the localities they come from are cancelled?  Is it not the job of our local Panchayat before issuing them the voting cards?   

                                                                                                                         

Since this is the case, it is imperative now for every activist in that locality to inform the authorities concerned about the use of muscle power by the Sarpanch.  If any local activist is physically attacked directly or thru remote control by using the Ghantti goondas or any other goondas, the first person to be blamed will be the said Sarpanch.  It is very disturbing that this Sarpanch a regular Church goer and recipient of Holy Cmmunion and above all having a priest in the family, has  reached to such a barbaric level. This goonda Sarpanch when he first time came to Goa, he was like a refugee but when he entered into the local politics, he became lakhpoti or may be crorepoti by looting the Panchayat.  Issuing of every construction License fetches the Panchayat Lakhs of rupees which goes into the pockets of Panchayat members.  Membership as Panches of the Panchayat is the big money making business.  The rascals who were fit to be the Pimps selling even their wives and sisters, by demanding bribe for Panchayati work made lakhs and crores. For this reason they don’t retire easily unless they are kicked out.  These Pimps are so shameless that even if you strip them of their clothes they will say nothIng.            

My point here is this, is it fair to use threatening language by the said Sarpanch who himself is the non-Goan Ghantti from Karnataka? People from that locality must think carefully whether this man is fit to be their Sarpanch when their village is historically known as the most prominent village in whole of Goa giving birth to the most prominent sons of Goa.  This Sarpanch is the  perpetual  defector changing political parties like changing his Undewear.

Please note that all the authorities concerned that the life for the activists in our localities is going to be difficult because of the hurdles put in front of the activists to prevent them from raising their voices against the Salazarism and Hitlerism of such disgraceful village based leaders whose only motto in life is to accumulate wealth by hook or by crook.  These village based leaders coming from Ghanttar are a curse on our villages in particular and Goa in general.  The leadership of our villages are given to them not by the voters directly but by the elected Panchas who are interested only in their quota of bribe.  Otherwise, they are nothing and they are not capable of doing anything.  They are not visionary because they lack vision.  That they are useless one can make out from the zero level development they did in their respective Wards.  The only best job that they do is to harass their enemies to indicate their personal anger and revenge. Who are these politicians who take their personal revenge by using the public platform?  They are all big ‘Bastards” and because they are Bastards they Bastardise their power and position in the Panchayat. People  got them elected not to take their revenge against their personal enemies but people got them elected to do something good and not take their personal revenge.

CANDOLIM DELEGATION MET WITH DIRECTOR OF PANCHAYAT.

On Thursday, 22^nd of this month, a six member delegation of Candolim Senior Citizens Association headed by its newly crowned President, Mr. A.Veronica Fernandes, met with Mr. Azit Panchwadkar, the Director of Panchayat and discussed with him some points with respect to the functioning of Candolim Panchayat under the current Sarpanch who has got lot of deficiencies which require urgent action. To run the affairs of the village like Candolim is not a joke where some of the villagers during the Grahm Sabah meetings make the life of the Sarpanch miserable. It is one of the Panchayats in Goa were alertness of the citizens is high because they are knowledgeable. Precisely because of this alertness that during the last Grahm Sabah  Meet, Candolim citizens as a mark of strong protest WALKED out of that Graham Sabah.

If you observe their actions carefully, like any other Panchayat body, Candolim also gone into the hands of wrong  and proud members.  The way some of them show their pride it looks to me that they are coming from heaven.  Ironically, some of them are  so poor intellectually and they dont even accept that they are there only temporarily.  Once they are out from the Panchayat, they are just like KOCHRO” exactly like the previous ones who are now like Fish out of water. In fact most of them are the scum of our human society. They are not visionary; they have no capacity to think what is good for our society.   They lack educational background to know many things. Very many of these Panchayat members are looters because they are looting the Panchayats and filling their own pockets.  The looting activities of some Panchayats are so big that in one Panchayat due to the lure of the bribe money they collect in their Panchayat that one person, an employee  of the Panchayat resigned  from his job and  contested the last election and won it. 

     

Candolim Panchayat has got history created by a few Sarpanches who were the real sons of this village and not the settlers coming from the neighbouring areas.  The first Sarpanch in our village Candolim Mr. Pandu Bott was moving in the whole village not on Motorbike and four Wheelers but on foot. He did not receive bribe for issuing licenses for the construction of Bunglows, Builings, Hotels etc.  Precisely because of this he did not build for himself a bungalow or an Hotel or a Restaurant.  He did not flood in Ghanttianchi Araddy in Cndolim the unwanted Ghanttis.  Neither he boast of the Gangs under his possession to act swiftly against anyone.

LATHI CHARGED IN PANJIM BY GOA POLICE FORCE.

I was not present there in Panjim but seeing the pictures in the TV, it looked to me that hell was opened  there for the Goa Police to do what they want without any compassion for the innocent persons just standing there,  I cannot understand why Police resorted to the Lathi Charge even against those few who were not involved in any confrontation.

During the Janata Party rule, there was a morcha organized by the opposition instigated by the architect of the emergency rule, i.e. Indira Ghandi who was out of power then.  Morarji Desai in capacity as premier of India gave an instruction to the Police “not to raise and use your Lathis against the demonstrators unless they confront you physically” and stressing more upon the Police force to take maximum care to avoid the use of lathis.  And if you see, the demonstration went on smoothly because the Police force ignored even the major provocation.  I feel if the Government had to instruct the Goa Police force to be more careful then things would not have reached to this miserable end. The rage of Police force was so brutal to beat the people mostly those who were not involved in confronting the Police that it looked these Policemen are come from the jungle and they not civilized but like barberians.  

Once it happened in the occupied Jerusalem in Palestine when unarmed Palestinians were assaulted by the Israeli Jewish Police.  Within 48 hours some Palestinians who were assaulted earlier by the Jewish Police, caught 5 Jewish Policemen who 48 hours before involved in beating the Palestinians, in civilian clothes after their duty hours without weapons in their hands and took them to some lonely place and assaulted them so much that their mutilated bodies were seen floating in the sea after a week.  Just because they got the order for using Lathis the policemen cannot act like wild animals. First they are human beings and for that matter they are civilized human beings and then they are Policemen and for that matter they are not wild animals and not barbarians. Such a barbarity was not even committed by the Portuguese.  Precisely because of this Jayprakash Narain called upon Indian Police force not to blindly follow the instruction of Indira Gandhi and act brute.

Secondly, the Chief Minister cum Home Minister of Goa Parricar is sleeping on his sick bed in America and Goa like an orphan is neglected. At moment orphans are better looked after by their guardians but Goa is totally neglected leading to total chaos. It is surprising why Parricar is reluctant to hand over his power to somebody in his Cabinet.  Or is he afraid of any mischief on the part of his follower?  May be because he knows all those who supported him from outside in the formation of his government are first class crooks and traitors. And because they are so genuinely, they abandoned their earlier promises.  Why meantime Parricar is suffering?  Is it the punishment for him from God for harassing the minority community like Christians who are a very peace loving community in India?

This incident occurred somewhere in 1957 when some Taxi drivers joined together and shouting slogans marched towards Governor’s residence.  From distant the Governor saw them and sent his Secretary to talk to them and the reason for their marching to him.  When the Governor got their message, he immediately sent them back with his one SENTENCE saying “I will solve your problem of giving you suitable parking place for your cars within 48 hours”.  And as a matter of fact he fulfilled his promise. 

In India in general and in Goa in particular there is no commitment for our leaders, these leaders of ours are kiddy and as such they don’t want to solve the people’s problem leading the people to come on to the street.  It is a pity that unless we come on to the street none of our problems are solved  This is because or leaders are not fit to be the leaders but they are fit only to rob the people by extracting money from them by selling public services.

ILLEGALLY ACQUIRED LAND IN CANDOLIM.

ILLEGAL STRUCTURES IN CANDOLIM.

In my village too much of illegal structures are coming up from the migrants and the village Panchayat under the current Sarpanch looks like ignoring this development. While entering the Araddy road from the main road, there is one BUND which was the traditional way for the people to walk. The owner of this Bund has rented this Bund for one migrant who converted it into  a workshop and built small - small settlement there like ZOPOTTPOTTIS. It is now two years that locals in the Gram Sabas raising this issue but the answer of the Sarpanch is  “we are going to dismantle it or demolishing it”.  Even the local MLA assured that he will arrange to dismantle it but up to now nothing is happening and on top of it the migrant occupying those huts already got water and electricity connections.  These connections are not possible without the help of the local Panchayat. People are talking that the migrant must have paid heavy bribe to the Panchayat to get him both the vital connections. If this is the case, can anyone trust the Sarpanch?  The truth must come out either from the Sarpanch or MLA who gave "bonddolam" to the villagers.  

It is a hard fact that the locals in Candolim have realised that the elected representatives are not to be trusted anymore.  They are interested only in filling their pockets. Otherwise, how they become crorepotis within a short time?  What was their financial standing at the time of joining the politics and now?

In Candolim there are many hotels come up.  Before issuing licences to these hoteliers the local Panchayat must make sure that there is sufficient place allocated for the car parking.  There are hotels in Candolim where the Hoteliers have bypassed  this condition, because of this lot of inconvenience are occurring to the commuters and vehicular traffic on the main road in front of these hotels because the Cars engaged with these hotels are parked on the main road.  

Because of this lot of accidents are occuring.  The two zones where this provision was not done are, one at Ximer and the other opposite to the Azilo.  Why and for what reason these hotels ignored the Car Parking provision?  The simple reason according to some locals was that the Hoteliers have bribed the local Panchayat to ignore this provision. Bribe money for few and inconvenience for the public?  This is the reason that today's Sarpanches are minting money thru bribe taking and thus the Sarpanches build Bungalows and own Restaurant and Hotels.  These Sarpanchas and other Panch members are not even ashamed to mix up in society.  They are so shameless that even they are not afraid to come to the Church and receive the holy communion.

XAVIER MENDES INTERRED TODAY AT MAPUSA CEMETERY

FINALLY IT was yet again proved that “Dust you are and unto dust you will return”.  The body of Xavier Mendes was interred today at Mapusa Cemetery after the Mass at 10.00 held at the Mapusa Church where innumerable people attended the service before going to the Cemetery for the burial. There were many Kuwaitcars who came even from distant places to attend the funeral besides many Tiatrists, namely Joe Rose, Wilmix & Sharon, Platilda, Jessie, Josephine, Cyriaco Dias, Dost Kumar, Felix Mendes (avier's elder brother)etc.

Herebelow from my Album File, I got some photographs of Mendes Bros. clicked in Kuwait during their participation in our Tiatros, Musical Shows and other activities.  Since Xavier Mendes was involved more in the community affairs his attachment to me was more.

It was their entry in Kuwait and thereby their participation in our Tiatros in Kuwait that that created a strong base for our Tiatros.  The standard of Tiatros in Kuwait was enhanced due to their participation because they have given a better touch to our Tiatros.  All the three brothers shouldered the major responsibility of any Tiatro they participated.The decent and serious role was played by the elder brother Felix while the fabulous comedy role was played by both the younger brothers Xavier and Derrick.

In any Tiatro they participated, they used to sing two trios, one decent and the other comedy. They were so "lokh priya" that their entry itself was fabulously applauded by the audience.  The greater part of the beauty of their acting and singing was very much missed in Goa because during their peak form when they were very ripe, they left for Kuwait where they have fabulously entertained the Kuwait audience. The first Tiatro that they have participated in Kuwait as Mendes Bros. was somewhere in 1977 at Keefan Hall attended by the hall packed audience. This Tiatro was staged by Jennifer Rodrigues brother  of Carmo Rod.         

May the soul of Xavier Mendes  Rest In Peace.

THE LOSS OF FC GOA IN ISL SOCCER.

With regret I write this piece expressing my feelings on the humiliating defeat FC Goa suffered  on 13th of this month at Chennai, from Chennaiyin. When Goa lost in the penultimate encounter in Madras in the Santosh Trophy for the first time after the invasion  of Goa by Bharat, the national Press commented thus, “though Goa lost yet Indian soccer has to learn a lot from Goa that displayed totally different brand of soccer”.  During that time Goa had great stalwarts in its team of which type we don’t see any more now. Can we get another right outer like Vassu? Can we see another goal-keeper like Benzinho? Can we get another deep defender like Menino Figueredo? Can we ever again get another Andrew? Today Goa hardly have a few players worthy of admiration and because of this now FC  Goa plays with more non Goans who it looks are least bothered to give their best for their temporarily adopted place, they looked like playing only for the sake of money. In fact today it is money that plays foot-ball. The non-Goan players have  already crossed their prime and since most of them looks rejected in their countries and regions, they came to Goa.  

Besides Mandar nobody seen giving his life for FC Goa that was totally outplayed by the host in every department of the game.  All the three goals  of the host were wonderful but the first scored by Jeje had class in itself, it was a world class header. Goa’s passing was slow and erratic; in the beginning they controlled the ball  in the midfield only.  However, both the Goan defenders standing in between Jeje are to be blamed for not doing serious attempt  to jump first only to head the ball away.  Neither the custodian of Goa came out to jump and punch the ball for safety.

The defense of Goa was slow and vulnerable, their marking was poor, it was neither zonal nor man to man.  I don’t know who selected the outstation players and on what basis? The owner of FC Goa it looks like interested only in promoting thru FC Goa his Casino business and wooing Goans towards his Casinos.  Because of this FC Goa soccer team the owner of the Casino who run the FC Goa succeeded in brainwashing the Goans in general to accept the sinful money making venture.  The owner of FC Goa wants nothing except the acceptance of Casinos in Goa by the Goans and that is what he does precisely. He is not interested in the promotion of Goan soccer by creating proper infrastructure and base for producing talented Goan players. Even during those days Portuguese promoted Goans but now under the Indian domination Goans are neglected. Non Goan persons like him must know that they are using the name of Goa which has great tradition of displaying finest soccer and this image of Goa should not be altered.

It is a shame that FC Goa is represented by very few Goans, even during Portuguese time Goa was represented with more players inspite of having exceptionally talented Portuese players.  The overall quality of the non-Goan players playing for FC Goa is low, I am sure if properly searched there would be better players in Goa to play for Goan outfit than many of the currently donning the clours of FC Goa, from outside Goa.

SAD DEMISE OF EX-KUWAITCAR XAVIER MENDES

With my heart crying, I write this piece  with deep sorrow and chagrin on the sad demise of our friend, colleague and strong supporter of Goan causes including that of Konkani language. Xavier Mendes yesterday at GMC Bambolim, Goa. Xavier Mendes came to Kuwait somewhere in 1979 after his younger brother Derick and  later on their elder brother Felix too joined them in late seventies. When they all the three brothers came to Kuwait, they started taking part in our Tiatros organized in Kuwait mainly in the Church Hall and Keefan Hall. When I established my contact with all the three brothers who were staying together as a very well knit family with strong  bond of which type nowadays one rarely sees,  I disclosed my idea to all the Mendes brothers of financing from Kuwait the starting of peoples daily in Konkani that was christened as ‘NOVEM GOEM”. Xavier Mendes along with his other two brothers younger Derick and the elder Felix gave me strong booster to go ahead. Then I said we will organize 1 or 2 Tiatros to raise fund for this daily and I told them every artiste will have to act free of charge, for this proposal they immediately agreed and not only they but even all others acted free except Musicians who were very adamant and arrogant towards the Konkani cause. Finally we organized two Tiatros for this cause without paying a paisa to the artistes, for both these Tiatros Xavier Mendes along with his other 2 bothers shouldered major responsibility to make these Tiatros successful.

After some years, Xavier Mendes stopped acting in Tiatros because he got himself involved very deeply in the Church affairs in different fields whence the era of Mendes Bros. came to a halt. By being involved in the Church circle he helped the Church in organizing Choir and other religious activities.  It was during this period he got married to his wife Theresa who is a very kind and loving person, they have two children, one son and a daughter.

Then after a long gap I requested  Xavier Mendes to take part in the Show we organize at Indian Embassy Auditorium in honour of Fr. Gabriel Dias as a farewell to him since he was leaving Kuwait after serving Kuwait about 7 years.  With Xavier Mendes saying ok, other two brothers also joined him to make this Show a great success. As a farewell gift to Fr. Gabriel, Xavier Mendes composed a beautiful song on Fr. Gabriel which was rendered by all the three brothers very beautifully. In fact  Xavier Mendes was very smart as far as singing part is concerned.  He was doing comedy role along with his younger brother Derrick and they both creating peals of laughter in the audience  while the elder brother Felix playing the role of a decent man which with his majestic personality he used to perform beautifully. 

Xavier Mendes’ besides Stage and Church roles, used to take part in many of the activities for the cause of Goa and Goans and as a matter of fact he was an asset for us while in Kuwait especially during the Konkani movement.  He was always a source of encouragement for me, almost in all the activities that we organized in Kuwait for the cause of Goa and Goans.

In Kuwait while doing comedy roles he used to perform cabaret dance so perfectly well that one was at a loss to recognise that he was the real Xavier Mendes.  With his empty mouth in the manner of whistling, he used to play Trumpet just like the original Trumpet. When he along with his other two brothers first time came on the Stage after his father’s death, the legendary comedian Anthony Mendes, he created sensation mainly because people noticed a lot of resemblance in him and his late father. He is by nature very innovative creating something or the other while playing his role.  He was perfect in doing the mimicry by imitating the voices of many persons.

Once he told me that their coming on to the Konkani Stage was because of the death of their father when they were young still in the school because their father was opposing them to become Tiatrists. During those days Tiatrists enjoyed no respect in the society, most of them were drunkards and womenisers and afflicted with other vices.  But if their father was alive now, he would be surprised to know that all his three sons maintaining  high profile and dignified discipline.  By moving with Xavier and his other brothers too, I found they are very decent, disciplined and of high character personalities. The way Xavier along with his other 2 brothers behaved in society, they don’t look like ordinary tiatrists but extra-ordinary human beings.

SICK PARRICAR MUST RESIGN IMMEDIATELY.

It is certain now that Parricar is not trusting anyone in his cabinet to be the acting CM during his medical treatment in USA. This shows that in his circle in the ruling segment there is not a singles  MLA nor a single Minister who is sincere, faithful and trustworthy.  The quality of some of them was exposed when they jumped from their original ranks to Parricar’s arms though earlier they were using all the dirty names against Parricar.  Because of power and money, these robbers will even sell their wives and daughters and that they are capable of committing such disgraceful acts was proved beyond any doubt when they embraced Parricar in the formation of the present Government. I call them robbers because some of them have robbed us of the trust we posed in them. We worked for them to get them elected but once they got elected they have bastardised their conscience by joining BJP. Not only this, they have even disgraced the so called high caste status of themselves. Because of them we created enemies for us and these enemies are laughing at us and we became like jokers.

 It is yet another evidence that in Goa there is not a single hospital where one can count on any emergency treatment for any serious case.  The hosannas sung on GMC Bambolim by the Ranes and Kamats and others whose assessment of Parricars and his BJP party was correct? I have my own doubts that it is the best hospital equipped with best of doctors and best of facilities to deal with any type of sickness, now turned out to be a hoax. There is nothing extra ordinary in Goan hospitals, neither in the Private nor Government to give good treatment for the patients otherwise, sick person like Parricar would not sprint to Mumbai and from there to USA which is a Christian country that does not discriminate on religious basis.  

That Parricar knew what his sickness was and yet he told the Goans in the beginning itself that it was a food poisoning case, is difficult to absorb. This sickness what he is having is not from yesterday but associated with him since some time now.  But why the Parricar government is afraid to toe the line of his extremist mentors !!  These extremists in the BJP are the big headache because they are not interested in the development of Goa but they are interested in spreading communal virus to discriminate against each other on the basis of religions and caste. It is a pity that Parricar belonged to the religious entity where it is full of obstacles based on Caste system. It is precisely because of these differences and obstacles where a full-fledged Indian is denied his full-freedom. This type of religion I will always refuse. 

Because of these differences and discriminations even in their Temples, Dr. Ambedcar fought against them and along with lakhs of people from his community rebelled against Hinduism and embraced BUDISM. The Congress Party is not to the BJP extent, BJP wants to create a fear complex into the minds of minority who are treated as second class citizens of Goa, the migrants and Ghantees are brought to one step ahead of Goans and precisely because of these discriminations there is not much development in our State. This development in Goa and elsewhere will never come because our current political leaders are parochial in their mindset that force them to think and act thus:  They are Christians – that means, deny them good facilities.   They are Muslims – treat them as terrorists. Hence our priority is not Development but communalism and casteism.  Unless we go all out for development we will never change ourselves.   

It is not correct of Parricar not to relinquish his job as CM and entrust the task to anyone from his Cabinet or colleagues. It is very risky to function as CM from USA and especially when we still don’t know whether he is mentally sound or not.  If Parricar thinks he is inevitable then he is sadly mistaken. Parsenkar proved earlier that things can move smoothly even without Parricar’s physical presence.

It is in his blood to exhibit his arrogance and pride with the intention of showing that he is omnipotent and others are unfit. That he is Godse-ian Bamon is a fact. In fact for such people to call themselves as Bamon and shamelessly take pride in their Bamonponn,  these bloody Bamonn are so cunning that their Bamonnponn is the curse on them because their Bamonnponn is equated with cunningness and chicanery.  These bloody  Bamonn should be never trusted because they are cunning, they have anger on minorities, they will marry with the girls form their own caste but shamelessly keep the concubines from Mahar or Kunbi caste.  This is the quality of these Bamonn. When there is Sex, they will sleep with the female from the lowest caste and for doing this sacrilegious act they will never feel afraid and never feel shy also to commit the acts of Satan because they are filled with Satanic power and influence. However,  the qualitative Brahmins will always act upright but where are they now? During my last so many years, with a lighted Lantern in my hand and exactly like the great Greek Philosopher Diogenes, when the Sun was directly overhead, I went all around to see whether I can get the qualitative Brahmins. They are coming to extinction.

As a Goan I feel sorry for Parricar for his decision to rule Goa from America, and as a Goan I have my fear that he will make all mess of Goa from USA and  as such he should resign immediately otherwise Governor must strip Parricar from the post of CM.  I am more interested in the health of Goa rather than that of Parricar.  Parricars may come and Parricars may go and by his going heaven will not fall but the health of Goa should remain perfect. Parricar sould not think Goa is his personal property.

TIATRO "PORMOLLACHIM FULAM" BY LAWRY TRAVASSO.

At Candolim Church School premises, on 5.3.18 – yesterday - at 8.00 PM,  I saw the currently going houseful Tiatro “PORMOLLACHIM FULAM” written and directed by ace artiste, director and playwright Lawry Travasso and attended by almost capacity attendees. This Tiatro is a must see Tiatro where the story is excellent and excellently performed by all the excellent artistes.

However, the best credit goes to the best artistes Tari, Rosy Alvares,  Mario Menezes, Franky and Antonette de Maina for their best performances in their respective roles even though Franky was at moments seen like screaming which is not required. C. Alvares, Prem Kumar, Souzalin, Tony Sax and many others of the past era would not raise their voices thus yet they would do the  justice for their roles.  This system of screaming and shouting is well suited for the Khell Tiatros and many of the current Tiatro artistes are recruited from the Khell Tiatros.

Being a Hindu, Tari  played the role of the priest wonderfully, his talk, walk and other attributes fits him in the category of a Priest perfectly well.  Rosy Alvares and Mario Menezes as husband and wife played their roles superb especially the sorrowful part.

The decency of the Tiatro is totally different where even the Dress Code should be decent and not vulgar that degrades the greatness of the Tiatro. In Tiatro we show our traditional Goannes.  Wearing even Jeans at moment is not correct, wearing of small vulgar type of shots by the female artistes should be treated as unpalatable more so when such Tiatros are held at the entrance of the Church where the blessed sacrament is kept. Many of our Pe. Vigars are guilty of these lapses and I don’t know why the cheap quality females  who are involved in the Church affairs to gain cheap publicity in the Church, are keeping their silence.

Our elder Tiatrists maintained this decency by using proper decent dress code. What is relevant in Bollywood films is not relevant in our Tiatros. It is the few “Rostad Pamprelam” who wear exotic type of dress and thus spoil the fair image of Tiatro.  Earlier our Priests used the Holy Altar and Pulpits in the Churches to criticize the Tiatrists for being immoral and drunkards and even asking the faithful not to patronise our Tiatros because according to their viewpoint Tiatros were the source of Sin and everything bad. But now, it is become opposite because thru Tiatros our Pe. Vigars and Pe. Curs are collecting money for the work in our Churches and of course some others take their commissions too.

Hence, our Church leaders are not discouraging but encouraging Tiatros and Tiatrists to such an extent that shortly even the female artistes will dare to enter the Stage topless and semi nude.  Inspite of this, no body will say anything negative to these female artistes because our Church leaders want money and more money by bypassing the morality and decency.  Those female artistes who lower themselves to such an ebb are having no proper home discipline, they do not possess clean and decent family background otherwise they would not act nor dress immorally and vulgarly. In this way what education we are imparting to our youngsters from the Tiatro Stage?

Coming back again to Lawry’s Tiatro, the small role played by the director Lawry Travasso during the ending was perfect, so also by Philip Almeida. The cemetery shown on the Stage looked very genuine exactly as it was shown in Minguel Rod’s Tiatro “Open to Close” in early fifties. Stage setting of this Tiatro was done appropriately and musical score under the leadership of Norman Cardoso was absolutely encouraging. Precisely because of this quality Norman Cardso’s name and fame spread all over the Goan World.

The comedy part was performed by 5 comedians from where John D’silva and Janet stood top.  Comedian Richard did his part well as he is having all the qualities of a good comedian but to reach to the top he must prevent himself getting the contagious desease of VULGARITY from his surrounding and  if necessary even by dissociating himself from those who are already having this desease.  This desease one can see not only in the words but also in action especially from those comedians who missed their mothers upbringing due to various reasons. The artistes especially the vulgar ones have done a great disservice to the otherwise decent Tiatros.  What good one can expect from those Tiatrists who live in perpetual sinful vulgar life? Precisely because of this, good and decent parents were reluctant to merry their daughters to the Tiatrists boys even though many in the Tiatro fraternity live a very decent and superior life on and outside the Stage.

In the Side Show Songs, Lawry Travasso rendered good solos, Arambol, Tony de Ribandar a solo and a Duet with Antonette de Maina, Francis de Tuem a political solo and a powerful political quarter  along with Lawry, Marcus and Xavier.  The solos rendered by Marcus Vaz and Xavier Gomes were well received by the audience

CHARLES GOLDEN WEDDING JUBILEE.

On 24th of last month, my friend and colleague on foot-ball field in Kuwait, Charles Carlito Rego and his wife for the last fifty years, Clementina Rego celebrated  their 50^th Wedding Anniversary.  On this most auspicious occasion, for the jubilee couple I wish them  along with all my like minded friends and colleagues choicest Heavenly Blessings.

They both got married in Bombay Bandra on 24^th February 50 years back and blessed with three lovely daughters who all came, 2 from Bombay and one from Kuwait with young son.   They celebrated the occasion at their residence in Asagao, Bardez with a decent get-together of their close  relatives, friends, neighbours and colleagues.

Some among the attendees, in their speeches showered fabulous praises on Charles for being together for 50 long years with his beloved wife. For the  present generation  they both gave a lesson how successfully you can live together as husband and wife till you are alive.

TIATRO "GHORACHEM SUKH " WRITTEN BY REMIE J. COLACO.

On 1^st of this month, Thursday, at 7.00 PM at Open Air Kala Academy Panjim, I saw the most popular Tiatro written by Remie J. Colaco and nicely directed by William Fernandes. It was originally staged by Remie about 60 years back and it was like a sensation then being very good, very decent and very well performed by those great artistes of yesteryears. Those greats are not replaceable  and those who missed them seeing on the stage they missed something great.

Remie Colaco's daughter Ms Blanch was brought to the stage to pay floral homage to the great departed soul along with all the artistes who were presented with mementoes THRU the hand of Blanch.

All the songs were old in the Side Show segment from different singers but some of the best songs of the scriptwriter were forgotten. They are golden songs of which type nobody can compose now. It was a good opportunity to showcase those golden songs, if necessary some help could have been provided but now it.is late.

Among the singers who sang well were  Anicedo de Santa Cruz, Anthony san, William Fernandes and Lourdes who in fact stole the whole show by beautifully rendering her solo and 2 duets one with Aniciedo and the other with William.

The play was performed  well by all the artistes though they could not come to the level of those who performed 70 years back yet they all deserve compliments males and females. Hower, the high grade Sarees wore by the wife of the Render was not right neither her excessive make-up especially when you are at home.

Souza Ferrao was remembered by many for playing his role perfectly well so too Jacinto Vaz. May God bless their souls and of all the departed greats. Day by day the oldies are dwindling from the Konkani stage thus Konkani stage turning poor and poor because replacements are not coming.

The comedy role played by acrobatic natural comedian Nato was very good whose every entry was greeted well by the audience. Comedian Pidu did his part well as per his capacity.
