GULF GOANS HOTELS COMPANY the
owner of Hotel Goan Heritage is the symbol
not only of Kuwait Goans unity for the cause of Goa but also of the
entire Gulf Goans. Hotel Goan Heritage
is the monument not only of Kuwait Goans
but also of the entire Gulf Goans. The
credit for this monument should surely go to its initiator Mr. Vincente D’Souza
who was the founding Managing Director of the company at the time of the
inception of this company.
Befitting his contribution to the company and being
the initiator of this company, the Shareholders must pass a resolution in the
next general body meeting to erect a Bust if not a Monument of his at the
entrance of the Hotel. He has given an
identity not only to Kuwait Goans but to the entire Gulf Goans by doing yeomen
services as none did in the entire Gulf for the cause of Goan community. With
the passage of the time his memory should not be erased from the minds of the
Gulf Goans and the Shareholders.
Though GGHC was formed by a few
dozen Kuwaitkars by purchasing its Shares
yet all others have supported this venture and wished good luck for this
company. Many of the Kuwaitkars though
wanted to purchase its Shares in the beginning in 1979 but refrained from doing
so because of paucity of finance. But all of them supported the establishment
of this company and these well-wishers are not from Kuwait only but also from
the other parts of the Gulf. Every Gulf
Goan is proud of this venture in their name and they are all watching its
development and prosperity.
The affairs of this company is
managed by the Board of Directors based in Goa except two who are based in
Kuwait and by being in Kuwait are impotent to perform any extra ordinary feat.
They both are useless in the Board; one is novice but think omnipotent while
the other is a traitor like all his earlier Kuwait based directors. Whenever any opportunity comes they should be
first kicked out from the Board and their places should be filled by the locals
based in Goa and who should be more productive.
The newly appointed novice
director is a kid as far as this company is concerned. He is not a genius nor a professional in
Hotel business. He is not an economist
like Harward educated Chidambaran nor Manmohan Singh, he is just an ordinary
boy and the way he is inducted in the board without proper procedure is something
unimaginable. Some of the current directors
are not even aware of his induction.
This shows the quality of the Board.
When both the Kuwaitkars are useless in the Board by virtue of being in
Kuwait, they have no wisdom to remain out of the Board because they are
shameless craving for the fake honour. They must know GGHC Board is not GOA
Maroons. Because of the selfishness of the president of GOA Maroons for fake prominence, the cream of GOA Maroons dissociated from it.
Will the other Board members
based in Goa protect the interest of the company and that of the Shareholders? I doubt very much especially the Kuwait
returnees among whom there are Kuwait rejected for being unwanted in Kuwait
because of their inefficiency on the their Kuwait jobs.
Among Gulf Goans there are no
better crook and cunning Goans as many Kuwait Goans and some of them are the Board
Members of Gulf Goans Hotels Co. For this reason I have my doubt over the
efficiency of the Board for running the affairs of the company in a proper manner.
Alex Wilson Coelho and Wilson
Rodrigues were the 2 stalwarts of Kuwait Goan Evacuees Society formed in Goa
during the invasion of Kuwait. KGES collected a huge amount of money from
Kuwait returnees with a false promise to take them back to Kuwait and ultimately
nothing materialized and on top of it nobody knows where that huge fund
collected from the poor Kuwait Goan evacuees gone.
Both the Wilsons are part and parcel to this chicanery
and as such they will play the similar chicanery in GGHC. Both these Wilsons are in the Board along with Cordeiro who was sacked for committing a "chori" as given to understand, by Air India Office Kuwait. Will such "Chors" be able to work sincerely in the Board? These "Chors" bring bad name for the Board and for other directors too.
Their every move must be screened well
because there is nobody in the Board to match their intelligence in committing
foul play. One of the Kuwait based
directors Raymond D’Sa is a “lolo” like all other Kuwait returnee directors.
Raymond D’Sa wants only prominence because like others he too is suffering from
ancestral and traditional inferiority complex.
Because they are in Kuwait they are something otherwise intellectually they
are from hoi-polloi background and because they are so they involve in the subjects where they cannot
perform their duties properly.
Thru this article this writer is
cautioning all the Shareholders to be alert because there are “Chors" in the Board
who for the sake of money may even sell their wives and daughters. This company was formed by the average Kuwait Goans and not by the millionaires who joined very late to enjoy the benefits.
