Gulf Goans Hotels Co. Shareholders are spread in many parts of the West. Earlier they were together, all based in Kuwait when this company was formed in 1979 with the excellent initiative of Vincente D;Souza. It was formed by Kuwait Goans for the benefit of Goans and not for the benefit of Karwarkars, Munglurkars and others. Very many Share holders are not fully informed of how this company is functioning being away from their homeland. Thru this forum, this writer would like to make them aware of what is happening in this company and how its Hotel Goan Heritage functions.
As scheduled, the Annual General Body Meeting was held on 29th of last month in Panjim attended by many Shareholders. As usual self appointed Extra constitutional chairman and Canada based the holder of foreign passport Alex Wilson Coelho with unfit official Chairman Justin Fernandes conducted the proceedings in a very Hitlerian manner as if Company is his father’s property. The way he was stopping the shareholders from asking relevant questions for the benefit of the Hotel it looked he is the Bhattkar and Shareholders are his Mundkars. In future Shareholders must not allow this to happen.They must challenge his Dadagiri. Who is Coelho? He is not the official Chairman, he is not the owner of the company, all the Shareholders are the real owners of the company and as such their say must prevail. He should not be allowed to talk when Chairman is there who is paid handsomely to conduct the proceedings otherwise Chairman should get out of the Booard.
By the way, is Coelho by law allowed to contest any election in India when he is the holder of foreign passport even though he may have the PIO status? Shareholders must investigate this point because you cannot allow this rogue who was involved earlier in financial scandals elsewhere and also Sex scandal to create similar scandals in GGHC. And those who support him to be in the Board are equally rogues because rogues alone support the rogues however much they may project themselves as clean persons. Coelho’s record is very bad; he was involved in financial scandal in Kuwait Goan Evacuees Society and also Goan Welfare Society-Kuwait.
The Meet with the passage of Finance with lot of disagreements finally adjourned to future date since re-election for the 4 Directors has to be conducted one of them is Coelho a foreign national, as per information. If Shareholders are interested in the wellbeing of their company then they should throw him out of the Board. The current chairman Justin Fernandes is a ‘Lolo’ and an idiot unfit to perform his duties properly and still he is sticking up to his post like a shameless pimp. He is on record to defame without any concrete evidence one of the Shareholders. This false defamation will lead him and the company into trouble. And as a matter of fact at an appropriate time and place Justin Fernandes will have to face the consequences of his false allegation, at that moment let us see whether Coelho or any other director comes to his rescue. Justin Fernandes either today or tomorrow will have to pay for his mischief and that time is not very far. He will not remain Chairman always, his time is running out but the false allegation he put on one of the Shareholders without concrete evidence will remain to reprimand him appropriately.
One of the surprise attendees for this AGB Meet was Sam Alphonso who is the major Shareholder in the company but not the initiator, nor promoter nor owner of the company. Many Shareholders may want to know who this man is. According to the available information, he is the naturalised Goan originally from Karwar settled in Tivim Goa but his roots are firm in Karwar while his wife is from Mangalore. He was nowhere in the picture of GGHC when the company was initiated and established. He came into the picture of GGHC many years after its formation when he purchased company’s shares during its second release. According to the information there was opposition from some Board members to issue him so many shares when he was not originally a Goan. Alex Wilson Coelho was responsible to issue him so many shares against the wishes of some Board members for this reason Sam it looks is supporting Coelho when Coelho is known to be a corrupt man as far as money matters are concerned and also morality. Coelho is counting on the support of corrupt and also of those known to lead immoral life of keeping concubines by cheating on their wives. At an appropriate time real light will be thrown on this topic of concubinage.
Goans in Kuwait for the cause of Goa and Kuwait organised lot of activities but Sam Alphonso was not associated with in any of them. For example, he was nowhere in the picture for Konkani movement, Novem Goem movement, Football movement, Direct Flight movement, Goan Welfare Society movement, Goa-Kuwait Solidarity movement and Release of Kuwait’s Prisoners of War movement. Not a single top Goan businessman and millionaire supported Solidarity with Kuwait movement when they all made millions from Kuwait. Some Kuwaitis were surprised to know that people earning millions from Kuwait finally showed ingratitude to Kuwait. None of the Goan millionaires openly supported the Goan movement in support of the liberation of Kuwait and freedom of Kuwait’s POW’s. They want Kuwait only to make money for them and not to support Kuwait when Kuwait needed them. Such people should be thrown out of Kuwait by Kuwait because they are enemies of Kuwait, unfaithful to Kuwait that fetched them so much in life.
According to the information available, all the Board members are not aware of the happenings in the board and in the company and yet they are shamelessly remaining in the Board. What about Kuwait based Joseph Rebello? Was he aware of the defamatory circular issued by the Board chairman? If yes then Rebello is also a party to this and as such he is a Liar of first grade and being so he is shamelessly going to the Church to pretend to be a saint. As a member of the Board can he justify the Circular issued by the Liar chairman Justin Fernandes? If the Circular issued by Justin was without Rebello’s knowledge then Rebello as a mark of protest for keeping him in the darkness must resign from the Board that keeps him uninformed of the proceedings taking place in the Board. By the way how this useless man can perform his duties as a Board member by being cursed in Kuwait even without a job? God has not given him the grace to live in his Goa his retired life gracefully. For being part of Board in defaming one shareholder without evidence Rebello will have to pay a heavy price at an appropriate time. He is also re-contesting election for his seat in the Board during the next Meet. Shareholders must kick him out because he is useless and unfit for anything by being in Kuwait.
And finally for all the Shareholders please note that the Chairmanship of the Board is not in the hands of a proper man, he is not only physically sick but also mentally sick for this reasons he commits goofy actions. He with the help of weak Board will destroy the company. He is relying too much on Wilson Coelho who when unbearable time comes he with his foreign passport will flee from Goa keeping everyone in the dark.
