COLVA CHURCH BELLS DISGRACED.

As I said earlier, during “not normal time” Church Bells are rung to indicate some troubles in the Church or to show happiness over the election of a new Pope. Again on 4th of this month Colva Church bells were rung when Calvert Gonsalves came officially to attend the Panchayat meeting as a Panch member. Calvert Gonsalves was not hiding anywhere in Colva, he and Osvi Viegas are roaming all over Goa freely. Last week I met both of them at Margao Longinhas. Till such time as per the stories making rounds, I was also under the impression that Calvert and Osvi were roaming with masks on their faces. When I met them I realized how wrong I was by listening to the wrong persons.

Colva Church and its occupants are hunting for Calvert. For what reason? To kill him by calling all the parishioners? By ringing Church Bells for nonsensical purpose Colva Church authorities are misusing the purpose of the Church Bells. Bishop Filipe Neri keeping this Colva Church arrogance going on is something to be condemned. Calvert Gonsalves’ CD “Dogui Bodmas” is well received by the people in Kuwait and so far not only in Kuwait but even in Goa nobody said anything bad of the contents of the CD. I did not hear anybody saying the contents or lyrics are wrong or false. I found best of music and best of lyrics, well worded and very well composed. So far nobody denied the contents. Congratulations to the lyricists, singers and musicians for making this Album a great success. Congratulations to the producer Calvert Gonsalves for producing such an excellent CD as never produced before by anyone.

The time is come now for the Goa Church to right the wrong priests who are all out to demolish the sanctity of the Church in Goa. Many of the priests in Goa are become corrupt and worldly. If they are unable to fulfill the vows they are taking then they should surrender their priesthood or better still they should not join the Seminary. The sanctity of our Church is spoiled more by the corrupt priests and who they are, the Bishop of Goa knows very well. During the regime of previous Bishop Raul Gonsalves, the crime of Sex captured the minds and hearts of the priests and under the current Bishop’s regime sex again with corruption have captured the hearts and minds of the priests.

In the absence of timely action against the erring priests by the Church leaders the character of many of the priests got spoiled. If Goa Bishop Rebello was prompt in taking action against Pe. Alvito Vaz at Candolim, for his indiscipline then, things would not have gone out of the hands and independent Church of Cuncolim would not have come into existence. But how the Church leaders will initiate disciplinary actions against those corrupt and sexually perverted priests when Church leaders themselves are suffering from the same malady? How a blind will lead another blind? Our priests are become corrupt because our Bishops are become corrupt and because of this corruption has engulfed our Church and spoiled the character of the priests.

The corruption in the Goa Church has reached to such a depth that best of goondas, best of pimps and best of prostitutes and concubines are in the hands of priests. Many of the priests in Goa are become worldly, they want their photos appear in the newspaper to make propaganda of their worldly and not Godly work. They want to show how much charitable and holy they are. They forget that they must not make known to their left hands what their right hands are doing. Pompousness is become their routine. I think people in Goa must judge them well and deal with them accordingly.

Meantime, following in the footsteps of Calvert Gonsalves, according to my information, one more Calvert is emerging who is going to release his new CD “MOJEM MAFALDINA” similar to “DOGUI BODMAS” referring to another priest guilty of the sins committed by Colva Priest and shielded by Bishop of Goa.

When I spoke to some priests on CD Dogui Bodmas, I got an impression that they internally support Calvert for releasing such a powerful CD that directly hits the wrong doings of the priest and more of a Minister. They said very good awakening is done thru this CD.

Finally, I strongly condemn the ringing of the Colva Church Bells by the Church people and Colvakars for ulterior purpose. It is not only a sin but a sacrilege to ring Church bells for nonsensical purpose. Goa Bishop Neri must not sleep over this serious issue, he must act fast to take corrective steps otherwise he will be held responsible for any damage done to the credibility and sanctity of Goa Church.
