These days in some
quarters in India there is a strong campaign mounted against free speech spoken
especially in praise of Pakistan. I
detest this because what is fact is fact
and one must be bold enough to express this fact however much to the chagrin of
the opponents of this fact.
Pakistan is a baby born
in India thru the crisis and it was first conceived in the mind of the great
Urdu Poet Iqbal who proposed especial separate homeland for the Indian Muslims
whose life safety he always feared. Taking cue of this proposal, Mohammed Ali
Jinnah went ahead to induct this into his political agenda because Jinnah felt
Hindus in India will never allow Muslims to grow as full citizens of free
India. This I disagree. If Jinnah did
not work for the partition of India to
create Pakistan, today Jinnah’s community
would have been in majority in India in which case they could easily maintain
upper hand in India where ugly incidents like Ayodya would not have taken place
in the first place.
The way Jews and
Muslims in the Middle East will never become friends, in the same way Hindus
and Muslims in India will never become one though they may for political gains
say different. For me this is a hard
fact which I admit very firmly. Even
though Indian Muslim being more secular may accept Hindus as his brother but
never a Pakistani Muslim because Pakistani Muslims in general have hatred for
Indian Hindus who are blamed for the partition time atrocities against Muslims
as if they are innocent.
The second point of
hatred for India by Pakistanis is due to the creation of Bangladesh thru the
most deadly war India waged against Pakistan. Thru this war India dismembered
Pakistan and created Bangladesh. This was the greatest humiliation for the
entire Pakistani psyche which they will never forget and will never forgive
India. Because of this, Pakistan is
promoting insurgency in Kashmir which will never end.
What I
admire in Pakistanis is that they are ferocious patriotic people and
more capable to sacrifice for the
development of their country. When Pakistan was formed, there were no proper
facilities to do the office work in many places but to overcome this deficiency
the Pakistanis were doing their work by sitting under the shade of the trees
and to save money instead of using Pins and Clips they were using Thorns from
the trees.
The other miracle they
made was the creation of Atom Bomb inspite of having so many obstacles and
difficulties. When Zulficar Ali Bhutto
said “if necessary we will make maximum sacrifice and eat even grass but
definitely go for the manufacture of Atom Bomb”. And they succeeded.
