7-A-SIDE SOCCER IS POLITICIANS' TAMASHA.

SEVEN – A – SIDE soccer tournaments in Kuwait amongst us is the development mushroomed after the liberation of Kuwait. In the name of promoting soccer some of the cheap organizers for cheap prominence and cheap publicity started organizing these tournaments. Besides, the fabulous local press coverage given to these tournaments and their organizers is like Heavenly Mannas which they will never dream to get in Goa and other parts of India. Hence stick up to this type of tournaments.

Seven-A-Side tournament does not develop soccer, it is only to pass one’s time. In this tournament you cannot develop a footballer to play full length ELEVEN - A- SIDE football as it requires enermous energy. Once you are accustomed to play seven- a- side soccer you become unfit to play real soccer of eleven- a- side.

Recently, last month KIFF XI selected from the best among Indians in Kuwait played against Ministry of Health XI and the result was heavy defeat for Indians, half a dozen goals. Many of the MOH players were retired from the active soccer and yet our boys mainly Goans could not withstand their stamina and other game plans because our boys are more prone to play shorter duration under seven- a- side.

Go back to late seventies and early eighties when I was playing for G.O.A. Maroons. During those days seven -a- side was either non existent or a rarity and in view of this we were accustomed to play only eleven- a- side soccer for which we had stamina and game plans. During our practice sessions we were spending long hours on the soccer field to acquire abundant stamina to survive not only for 90 minutes but in excess of 90. Because of this in the early eighties we managed to defeat the mighty Hubara Club of Ahmadi, Kuwait, consisting of top Eurpean players, a few of them having experience of playing in FA Cup in England while some others in local Kuwaiti League. Inspite of this we managed to defeat Hubara in the marathon match lasting 90 minutes and plus. To defeat us they made us to play under the flood lit stadium at 9.00 PM. After the match some of the English players came to me asking how we practice and where and under which coach. It was not G.O.A. Maroons only had that high standard but also the other Goan teams like UG.

Nowadays seven- a- side tournaments are become cheap and one of the reasons is because some of these tournaments are patronized by the corrupt Goan politicians from Goa. Some of our organizers are very cheap for publicity and to satisfy Goan politicnas they are ready even to dole their wives and daughters to the visiting Goan politicians who are robbing, looting and raping Goa and to glorify them? Who does this job? Only the third class and disgraceful Kuwait Goans. The politicians in Goa are robbing Goans and sucking the blood of poor Goans and the money they thus acquired are given to our shameless Kuwaitkars to organize activities in Kuwait and elsewhere too in the Gulf.

It is an accepted fact that most of the Goan politicians who till recently, before embarking in politics, were paupers but suddenly after getting elected became crorepotis as if to say, within a night, by looting Goa and Goans. This looted money they use to dole our Kuwaitkars by sponsoring their activities. It is not only a sin but a big sacrilege to accept such sinful money acquired thru sinful means by our sinful Goan politicians. It is an unchristian act to accept such money as sponsorship doles and only pagans can accept such money and not true Christians. The moneytary doles our Miniters and other politicians give contain "XIRAP" because this money collected by our politicians thru Bribes, Extortions, Murders and other atrocities. The recipients of these dols also suffer the "Xirap".

During my recent visit to Goa in January, I was approached by one prominent Goan politician asking me to organize a meeting on behalf of GOA-KUWAIT SOLIDARITY CENTER in any five star hotel in Kuwait to commemorate the liberation day of Kuwait, on 26th of February under his sponsorship. When I said NO with a statement that to accept money from you for sponsoring the meeting is like prostituting our organization G-KSC which is the most upright and dignified Goan organization manned also by the most upright Goans. I told him further that the money you are going to give to sponsor our meeting is collected by you politicians by prostituting yourselves and by committing crimes and extorting bribes. Accepting such money is a curse and I don’t want such curses on me and on my colleagues and supporters. G-KSC is not a cheap organisaiton of cheap Goans accepting cheap money from cheap and corrupt Goan politicians and thereby encouraging the corrupt politicians to commit more such crimes. Such money are accepted only by cheap, hoi polloi and intellectually bankrupt Goans in Kuwait for whom Goan politicians are like Gods for this reason they are adoring them knowing that they are corrupt.

It is a pity to note that the overall quality of the Goans involved in promoting seven-a-side tournaments in adoration of Goan politicians is very low, they are suffering from inferiority complex which is their trade mark. They think big and high when they mingle with Goan politicians. What a pity it is to note their poor caracter!! Most of these Goans are rejected in intellectually elite society and besides football they are unable to do anything big for Goa and Goan causes because they are slaves of visiting Goan Miniters and other politicians who are all corrupt.

On 15th of this month, at Azad Maidan Panjim there is a big meeting against corruption and corrupt Goa Government. Big number of peope are expected to congragate there from all over Goa. KUWAIT KONKNNI KENDR has already sponsored 2 Buses to bring people for this meet. How many of our Kuwait visiting politicians for seven-a-side tournaments have sponsored the Buses and other necessities for this meet? None so far and it will remain None only because corrupt politicians and their corrupt slaves in Kuwait will never patronise a meet against corruption.
