IS CONGRESS PARTY IN THE HANDS OF RIGHT PERSONS?

Is the Congress Party in the hands of right persons and will it be right on the part of its  voters to vote for the Congress Party in the next election when one feels Congress Party has no future and neither it can give future to the current and the next generations?  It hurts me very much  to express this negative view of mine when I have been supporting this grand old party that gave so much and so many great leaders to India.  Inspite of giving so much for the country and to our State Goa including the separate Statehood and much better secularism than what we are getting now under the communal party BJP, the Congress Party in the last election failed us very miserably in Goa inspite of winning greater number of Seats because all the bloody  oldies gave priority for their own greed for the topmost chair, these bloody stupid  artificial Congressmen whose allegiance to Congress Party is very  much questionable,  put the victory in the last election into the hands of BJP and withdrew from the scene for BJP to form the government, as if it was nothing, the Congressmen who were the architects of surrendering their victory to BJP were the most disgraceful persons who were not even apologetic for the crime they have committed on the Congress supporters and voters. If this episode had to take place anywhere in the world, the voters and supporters of Congress party would not only burn their houses but even burn them in front of the Porvorim Assembly Building because these stupid Congressmen have made a joke of the mandate given to Congress Party by its dedicated and faithful supporters who stood by Congress Party thru thick and thin. 

 

If Congress won more seats in the last election it was not because of any of the Congressmen nor because of any of the Oldies who are most hated by their supporters because they are not genuine Congressmen, they are the crook Congressmen, they never subscribe to the principles  and doctrine of the Congress Party and yet that they are in Congress Party it is only because of their personal benefit, they are not an asset to Congress Party, on the contrary they a big liability on the Congress Party, the supporters and voters of the Congress Party alone are asset to the Congress Party.  Can these present day Congressmen namely Ravi Naik, Prataphsingh Raoji Rane, Luizinho Faleiro, Kamat and others be an asset to Congress Party?  Ravi Naik jumped into the Congress Party because he wanted to be the CM of Goa and he got it;  Luizinho Faleiro joined the Congress Party from Goa Congress when he found it suitable to get the topmost  Chair in the Congress government;  Rane as a political baby was brought up in the Cradle of MGP under Dayananda Bandodcar but later on he joined Congress to get the topmost Chair..  This was his ambition and during his long tenure he has destroyed Goa.

  

The surrendering of the right to form the ministry by the Congressmen due to their arrogance, pride and greed for power made the Oldies and Congress Party as JOKE.  The victory for Congress Party was purely due to the strong support of the voters of the Congress Party and not because of any of its fake and selfish leaders nor because of the Star campaigners, in fact there is no star campaigner in the Congress Party, they all were mediocre campaigners and totally useless people, they are unreliable persons.  For example see, Rane, how cunning he is, he is inspite of being a Congressman still allowed his son in BJP, does it look nice morally at least? Does this suit any homogeneous family?  Father is in one party and son in the another party,des not it looks something strange though legally it is  not wrong.  All the oldies were responsible to create  the BJP Government, this was the great issue which cannot be handled and taken lightly but the Congress Party unfortunately  handled it lightly and very casually thus giving on the silver platter an opportunity for the BJP  to rule Goa. The lesson derived from this stupidity is this: Can you and me and all the supporters of Congress Party vote again for the candidates of Congress Party when we know this party is least bothered in protecting the interest of its voters? All those  Congressmen who decided to    put their claim for the Chair of CM are not true Congressmen neither they are interested in the development of Congress nor even the good of Goa and Goans but they are only interested like bloody rascals in their own selfish benefits. In the coming election they must be kicked out from Congress Party otherwise  the GRAND OLD PARTY will be kicked out by the electorate.

 

Though  Congress image was poor with their oldies being a big liability, at least one of the 7 oldies could have contested from the North for the  last Lokh Sabah Seat   but instead they pushed the newly elected and dedicated Congress President who I am sure was  aware of his defeat yet he contested to prove his love and dedication for the party.

 

 It is terrible to know Congress  is become a ready made MLA’s supplying Organisation to BJP as it did in Goa and now in Rajashantan and yet there is no regret on their part. It does not look that Congress Party is serious in keeping itself alive in Goa because they do not give an impression that they are serious. Allowing meekly the 10 MLAs to  join BJP is something one cannot understand. It is a big blow on the faces of all the voters of Congress who are still on shocking state. The supporters of Congress Party worked so hard and its High and Low Commands are surrendering their  MLA’s to BJP without much resistance for which Congress Party alone is to be blamed.  If Congress is demoralised for being out of power, it has no right to contest the election and put its voters out of track.

THE STRONG INFLUENCE OF PORTUGAL & CHRISTIANITY ON GOA & GOANS. PART - III.

The second influx that came to Goa very hurriedly along with the Maharastrians too was the influx of most of the third class Malyalees most of whom were rejected back at home in their own Malyali society. Some of them were so anti-Goan that they even voted cheatingly in favour of Merger of Goa  because they did not like Goans especially the Goan Catholics because they were more patriotic towards Goa and everything  Goan, which they did not like, they wanted domination of Goa but Catholics were refusing them this while others were silently surrendering them because being the supporters of MGP they had no love for Goa & Goans and precisely because they had no love for Goa and Goans they were silenty at least supporting the non-Goan outsiders. These early Malyalis had dislike for the Goans and according to them Goans  were good for nothing, While expressing these feelings  many of them were  displaying  only their Degree Certificates but practically they were totally unfit to  be worthy of those degrees.   Yet they took good advantage of their third grade degrees in Goa by getting employment in the newly established English Schools in Goa mainly by the Goa Church and in the bargain to prove their cheap and third class background many of them they wooed our young girls towards them, befriended with these young Goan girls and gradually became the “Honrad Ghor Zanvui” in Goa thereby enjoying all the previlleges mainly the financial, inherited to them thru their wives. Because of their higher English Education they got good advantage in Goa (In Goa then there was no higher English education, the highest point then was only up to the Matricultion or SSC and to answer this Matriculation final examination the students had to go to Bombay or other nighouring places).

As teachers they were unable to communicate with our students clearly due to lack of clarity because of their faulty English accent that found our students as confusing and difficult to absorb and secondly as human beings many of them  were rejected  and disrespected in their homeland because of the variety of reasons namely they were rough and confusion makers, number one crooks, they loved creating disorder in the smooth functioning of the society, They lacked peace in their hearts. The first person to be hanged in Goa after 19.12.61 was a Malyalee Kumar by name for committing a double murder in Caranzalem, the mother and her young child baby girl were murdered, cut their bodies into pieces and packed them in the box. This case being the first after the invasion of Goa created sensation all over Goa and there was so much of peoples gathering in the court in Panjim that some of them even came to assaultl the advocate Marathe by name of Kumar but nobody knew which side Marathe entered the court room and when and how he exited from the Court but heavy security “bandabost” was done especially when people were asking for the blood of Marathe for supporting the criminal, by saying “Marathe khuim gelo re to, taka bhair haddat re hanga, amkam toch zai, to Ghantti” (Marathe was originally from the area in Maharastra and  was well versed in Portuguese). Some of the Malyali teachers were instigating their students to revolt against their Principals and other Goan teachers.  They had no peace. They had great ambition to have a full control of Goan affairs.  They wanted to be somebody in Goa as the administrators and protectors of Goa, their attitude towards Goans was very low as they said Goans are useless people.

The first English High School of Goa, St. Joseph’s High School, Arpora was the best disciplined School of Goa under the most strict disciplinarian principal Fr. Philip Neri Mendonca.  His power was such that the noise of one thousand students would abruptly come to a halt by only listening to a blow of his Hitlerian type of the Whistle, the students were shivering in front of him especially if they were guilty of any wrong doing. Inspite of this somewhere in 1963  the students of this School organized a Strike on one Thursday by boycotting their classes. This was the first ever Strike of students in Goa.  Their demand was “Holiday” on every Thursday because the school was conducting its business on whole day basis, from  7.45 AM to 4.30 PM with an hour for Lunch break.  When this news went here and there, nobody believed this has actually happened to Arpora School under that gigantic minded genius Principal Fr. Mendonca who was not only a Roman Catholic Priest but a respectable Monsignor. The School had most of the teachers as good yet a few of them were very funny and most of them with long term experience namely Maths Teacher Mr. Rafael from Saligao who used to come daily on his Cycle, for French Mr. Naik from Siolim he used to come in a Caminhao (public transport) and if he missed this transport he would walk up to Siolim, these were their hardships, Gen. Science & Maths Mr. Pednecar from Nagoa who used to either walk to school and home or Cycle, for General Science Mr. Albuquerqe from Arpora next to the School Compound, For Hindi Mr. Shirodcar from Anjuna he too was coming in a Cycle. Besides them there were many more including the lady teachers, they were all the most sincere teachers, first sincere to the School, then to their profession and then finally to their students.

With the exception of few, most of the students of this school were coming walking with a food tiffin in their hands for their Lunch and walking from Candolim,  Nerul, Calangue, Parra, Saligao, Siolim etc. while there were many boarders too mainly from Salcette and Ilhas.  The students of this school were good not only in their studies but also in other extra curricular activities mainly the Sports that includes Swimming Race, Cross Country both in Running and Cycle. Indoor games such Table tennis, Carrom and Badminton while Out door games like Crcket, Hockey, volley ball and Foot-ball.  Its annual Sports meet on School ground was like Olympics with  track and field items with the most attractive item "Drill" as it was called and where different Tableaux were shown depicting the world events.  This was the special item of Fr. Mendonca.  All the sports items were spread from June to December and those who stood first in any item at Arpora School, most of the time he without any difficulty would come first at All Goa Inter School Athletics Meet. Though it was the school for boys only yet it was full with students from Christian and Hindu students who were very secular because it was the principle of this school to practice broad minded secularism.  The Hindu students of this school were very broad minded  hailing from all over Goa and many of the students were staying as the boarders. There were three Dormitories for Boarders, namely one for small boys, the other for middle class and the third for big boys  These students had strong influence on them of Portugal and Christianity for this reason even in the employment those who studied at Arpora were preferred because their discipline, character and sincerity were very good influenced by the Portuguese decent rule and Christian doctrine. Many of those schools in Goa were owned and run by the Priests and Nuns and since this was the case they were imparted with very good discipline as it was existing all over Goa as per the he local Portuguese laws and discipline and also as based on Christian doctrine with the highest degree of morality, self sacrifice attitude, with cool  temperament,  non-aggressive behaviour, spread of peaceful atmosphere not only among them in thier schools but everywhere in Goa and even elsewhere. Because of these attributes Goans brought up as peaceful citizens they always remained as peaceful turning Goa as a peaceful place compared to other places elsewhere in India where you find aggressive and communal riots creating citizens who thru these riots create a very big devide among communities while in Goa its citizens due to their charismatic characteristics they embrace others.  Here lies the greatness of Goans for which one must admire Portuguese rule and Christian discipline.

Then with the advent and establishment of Christianity in Goa, the influence of Christianity very powerfully reflected not only on newly converted Christīans but even on others too and thus turning the entire Goan population into a totally different type of  people as peace loving and as far as their   character, discipline and morality are concerned, they are the best compared to those  people beyond the borders of Goa. And these characteristics of Goans lasted till 19.12.61 when borders of Goa were kept open for any of the  third rated Bharati from other parts of Bharat to come and settle down in Goa as if Goa is his father’s property. Taking advantage of this freedom, in the beginning most of the low quality Indians came to Goa and with this influx of third grade Indians came also the worst class of Indians. The early Bharatis to enter into Goa after 19.12.61 were the Maharastrians many of whom had no class in them but lot of hatred for genuine  Goans mainly the Christians who were described to these Maharastrians by their mentors, as Chamchas of Portuguese.  In fact Christans  were not the Chamchas of Portuguese, the real Chamchas of Portuguese were those who got  the trade/import  licences to do business in Goa and those holding the monopoly of major Industries and main businesses of Goa in their hands, some of them they got these facilities even thru illicit means. However, one thing must be borne in mind that No other community did as much as Goan Christians community did for the cause of the liberation of Goa by driving away the Portuguese from Goa,  many of the biggest and sincere and devoted  freedom fighters of Goa to oust the Portuguese from Goan soil were the Goan Chriustian Catholics.  Who were the Pinto’s revolutionaries who conducted the Revolt of 1787 against the Portuguese rule in Goa?  They were all Catholics mainly the Priests from Candolim Pinto’s family whose ancestral palatial house with "Brazao" engraved at the entrance of their house is still existing.

Who was Dr. Francis Luis Gomes who by standing erect on European soil  forcefully demanded freedom from the Europeans not only for Goa but for the entire India? He was a pure Roman Catholic Christian representing his South Goa constituency in the Portuguese Parliament in Lisbon.  When he demanded freedom for the entire India the topmost leaders of India were sleeping in Bombay, Delhi, Madras, Hyderabad, Assam and elsewhere in India, the impact of his statement demanding freedom for India was so powerful  that none of the Indian leaders could match  with the wisdom  and ferocity of this statement of Dr.Gomes. It was also declared to the World that Goans were not just the “Panpotti" and "Dhoti” but Goans were the highly educated and intellectual giants knowing how to eat and dress and behave in the more westernized Western society. They knew to integrate with the Westerners and act as westerners, they knew to eat and drink like westerners only and because of this accessibility of Goans in the Western society, they were more preferred by the Westerners.The influence of Portugal and Christianity on Goans has helped immensely  Goans not only to integrate with the West but more than that to penetrate thru them.  This superlative characteristic of Goans attracted a deep degree of envy from the Indians from other parts of India.  In fact some of the Indians who landed in Goa soon after the ouster of Portugal from Goa were so zealous of Goans in social life while most of the Indians were behaving like donkeys and since they lacked the decent mannerism they were called as Ghannttis because according to my knowledge and experience, in my neighbourhood for the first time  I heard the word "GHANTTI" from the mouth of our elders somewhere in 1955 when I was a small boy watching  them with deslike for their dirty habits and with fear too for their anger on  their colleagues who were seminude among the male group and women as scantily dressed while their small children totally nude who were crying for  drink and to eat for which their fathers were silencing them with extremely high pitched shouting, they were staying under the shade of Trees and Plants and speaking among them in a language that sounded like Marathi but not Konkani. It was informed by one of our elders that they were  wonderers, nomadic type of people who were put on the road and in the jungle by their own society leaders.  Then later on when they left for the next destnation, they robbed our Tumbler that we gave them to fill water from our Well sonce they were staying near my house. I as a small boy I was watching their every move and I found them they lacked human hearts, no human discipline, they were number one robbers and no human attributes because they lived a rough life.  It is here that I heard the word Ghantti first time because people used to call them as such and cautioning us to be very careful since they are capable of robbing you bodily and soully too.   

To go to a step forward and to give further justification of my statement in praise of Goans, the demand that was made by Dr. Gomes was much before the great Indian leaders namely the Gandhis and Nehrus were born.  See the advancement of our Goans in the political field!!.  Much before some of the top Indians could know to pronounce the Democracy our ancestors in Goa already mastered the art of electoral democracy and much before Parliamentary democracy born in India, our Goan politicians already got elected in the Portuguese Parliament where two Seats were reserved for 2 Goan representatives, one in the South Goa and the other in the North Goa and as such Goans were very matured in the political field.  The educational and intellectual standard 0f those days Parliamentarians was very high compared to that of the current ones.  


But now the level of Goan Parliamentarians and Legislators have reached to such a low ebb that it is already become a shame to accept these Parliamentarians and Legislators because they have refused to act as per their roles to work for the cause of the society and instead they are gone  into robbing and looting spree by occupying the respectable positions thereby bringing their positions into disrepute. What a disgraceful quality of some of our current Legislators and Parliamentarians !!. They are so corrupt that to call them as Parliamentarians and Legislators is a big shame, not only that but a big sin too, oh no, not only that but a great sacrilege. Most of the current Legislators are  puny minded parochial and communal whose job is not to sit in the Legislative Assembly and National Parliament but elsewhere. These intellectually bankrupt people are a big shame on the topmost image of Dr. Francisco Luis Gomes  who even taught Indians what is the meaning of Freedom.

Indian Military convoy while moving on to Goa, others to as civilians followed them shortly and yet still others  were brought to Goa by that anti-Goan, anti-Christian and anti-Konkani the first Chief Minister of Goa, Dayananda Bandodcar and his Political Party, The Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party that was fighting to merge Goa with Maharastra and thus liquidate Goa and everything Goan. When the relevance of this Party is no more valid since the issue of merger of Goa already buried,  Is it not a shame and disgrace for those Goans to build the monument of the greatest traitor Dayananda Bandodcar,  in many places in Goa and falsely  depict him as the patriot of Goa?  Does the patriot sells his land to his neighour by stripping him of his citizenship of his own land?. During the Portuguese rule in Goa this traitor Bandodcar  lived a previlleged life and enjoyed all the business facilities from the colonialists Portuguese just as other top business magnates enjoyed namely Salgaocars, Dempos, Chawgules, Bandecars, Caculos, Naiks etc. It is this class of Goans who enjoyed all the top benefits from the Portuguese and sadly many of the members  of their community defaming Christian community as recipients of the largess of  the Portuguez.
