XAVIER FURTADO FROM AVC ON PURCHASE OF GOAN LAND.
AVC and Navelim have accomplished many things in Kuwait through soccer and other social and cultural activities and now its time for us to do something for us back home. Mr. Veronica Fernandes can only enlighten us, but it is up to us to wake up and realise the reality. How long we will be here in this alien land? One day we have to go to our village and are we going to get our village as it is when we last left?
Many in Kuwait will care less to what Mr. Veronica says, but if we do not ponder over it then he is not the loser, but we are. Lets take a pause and think. Do we have sufficient back home when we finally leave? If not, let us start doing it right now.
Mr. Veronica as far as I am concerned a big thank you for the awakening. Yes we can.

DON BOSCO OPEN 9-A-IDE SOCCER TOURNEY.
The second round of the first open Don Bosco 9 a side football tournament got underway on 26th November 2010 at the Dayaa grounds under the auspices of Indian Football Federation – Kuwait (IFF-K).
US Stars Winners of Match 1 on Nov 26, 2010
Officiated by Center referee Richard Anthony and assisted on the line by Yusuf Mubarak and Crasto Milagres.
Winner’s Don Bosco Oratory, game 2 on November 26, 2010
The final game of the day was between Big Boys and Indians. Indians, playing with a young talent missed their team pillar Leslie who is out of Kuwait. Big Boys found the net in the sixth minute from a free kick with M. Shafi making no mistake. Indians as always started relatively with a shaky start, but later build up the momentum by unleashing out their young star Scott, but lack of support upfront made it difficult for them to mount a serious challenge at the goal. Indians goalkeeper young M. Kazi ensured the goal score remained 1/0 at half time with some timely interventions. In the second half Big Boys increased the pressure on Indians by attacking from both the wings. Big Boys affected two quick substitutions executed by manager A. Cadiri were perfect with both substitutes Basheer and Fazal finding the net. Valentino and Bashir holding on the Indians defense foiled most of the Big Boys moves. The final score read 3/0 in favor of BIG BOYS.
Winners Big Boys of game 3 Nov 26, 2010.
The schedule for 3rd December 2010 is as follows:
Xavier Furtado,
Navelkars - Protect Your Land, Protect Goa.
In Kuwait we have an organisation named after its village Navelim and christened as Navelim Youth Center which is in existence since many years now. Navelim Youth Center has engulfed in its fold many Navelkars working in Kuwait. This organisation is also running its soccer team most of its players are from Navelim working in Kuwait and this team is doing well on the football field.

Navelkars in Kuwait are showing lot of interest in the promotion of their causes in Kuwait as well as in Goa. In their fold they had some members who were really dynamic. One of them was the late Custodio who along with his other colleagues was instrumental in initiating our soccer activities in Kuwait. He sacrificed lot of his time and money to start this competitive soccer. Because of his and other colleagues of his in UG our soccer activities started and flourishing well till now.The other Navelkar who has done more for the Goan causes was recently retired from Kuwait Mr. Elvino Rodrigues. His contribution for the cause of Konkani was great and also for other important Goan causes. Not many Kuwait Navelkars have got themselves involved in Goan causes as Elvino Rodrigues. He was the President of prestigious Kuwait Konknni Kendr. During the invasion of Kuwait, when we organised in Goa the movement for the cause of Kuwait under Goa-Kuwait Solidarity, Elvino Rodrigues along with his colleagues like Thomas Fernandes, Luis D’Silva and others have done a wonderful job. A very good bilingual scribe, Elvino Rodrigues was a very good orator too. His excellent skill of motivating his villagers to join in good number for the Rallies in Goa in support of Kuwait’s liberation gave very good dividends.
Navelkars in Kuwait under their organisation have a very good circle and they are united well (except for a few who try to create a discord among members). Taking advantage of their unity they can pull their financial resources and purchase the land and properties which is under the sale in their locality.
According to my information, outsider non-Goans are on line to purchase properties in Navelim with handsome prices. This trend Navelkars in Kuwait can stop with their financial power. It is not only in Bardez non-Goans are purchasing Goan land, they also started in Salcette and in a place like Navelim.
Individually Kuwait and Gulf Navelkars will not be able to do much but with unity, Yes. During critical time Navelkars in Kuwait helped many of the Goan causes and now the time has come for them to take control of their land and properties by purchasing the same from Navelim Battkars. One plus point in Kuwait Navelkars is their sense of Unity which can get them anything they want.
It is a time now for Navelkars and other village based Goan associations to take a serious view of deGoanisation process going on in Goa. Gulf Goans and especially Kuwait Goans have done wonderful job for Goa thru charity and other social work. Now the time is come for all of us in the Gulf to act in unison to take possession of our land and properties in our own localities in Goa.
Recently in this month Navelkars in Kuwait marked the Feast of their patron Saint.
They gathered in the Church for the Mass followed by the reception. From the photograph appeared in the local press they have a huge number of their villagers in Kuwait as members. Somebody must from their circle come forward and take a decision to form a financial organisation to purchase land in Navelim instead of allowing Non-Goans a free hand to purchase our land. If necessary, they can get some help from their Navelkar brother Luizinho Faleiro who was very much with them in offering his support during the invasion of Kuwait. Sending lakhs from Kuwait to the Church and Chapels and Church Schools is finished. Sending donations for other movements is also finished. Now the time for us is to think in different angle and to stop Non-Goans’ menace Goa is facing in Goa.

TIME FOR VILLAGE BASED GOAN ASSOCIATIONS TO ACT NOW.
AVC is a group of 3 villages, namely Assolna – Velim – Cuncolim. These villages are very prominent since a long time now and the citizens of these 3 villages are very energetic and dynamic. They love Goa and Goan causes. To create such an awakening of their existence and activities in a place like Kuwait is not a joke. It all shows that AVC Kuwait is manned by strong persons.
Today what we see in Goa is deGoanisation process going on in full scale. Our land and properties are rampantly purchased by non-Goans. Inspite of having lot of wealth in our hands still we cannot discard the temptation of selling our land, properties and houses to the bales of Notes showered by much richer customers coming to Goa from Maharastra, Delhi and other places in India. Our weakness for the craze for easy money is totally exposed to Non-Goans who want to purchase Goa by purchasing our land. Non-Goans are using their money power exactly the way the Jews from Diaspora used to purchase land and properties of the Palestinian Arabs in Palestine during those days and finally making the original Palestinians as slaves of Jews in their own land.
The Non-Goans will gradually purchase our Goa fully of course with the backing of our politicians whose greed for money and more money is beyond my understanding. We Goa settled Goans gradually will turn into slaves of Non-Goans in our own land. We may not be able to completely eradicate this menace of Non-Goans settling down in Goa and initiating their entrepreneurial activities but surely we can minimise their hold on us by buying our own properties and starting our own businesses by ourselves.
We in Kuwait itself we have so many village based associations like AVC. I am sure in its register AVC must be having at least 50 members. Their unity is very strong and so too their love for Goa. From my experience point of view, Saxtikars have shown more love for Goa as their patriotism towards Goa and Goan causes is much higher. The AVC – Kuwait should join their hands together and collect money from every AVC member and purchase land and properties in AVC Goa. Even barren land they should purchase and thereby retain their land in their own hands. If possible, they should form an official company like Public Limited Company and float shares for their villagers and construct Hotels and other small ventures in AVC just like we did in Calangute under Gulf Goans Hotels Company in 1979. Land has no elasticity, it is fixed. If outsiders purchase our available land, time will come our future generation will have nothing. With individuals we will not be able to penetrate in this sector but jointly by pulling our financial resources we can do so much. AVC I feel is capable of giving a lead to other such village based associations to purchase land from their vilages and start commercial ventures in Goa. It is better to embark on such activities while you are employed in Kuwait because money flow will remain uninterrupted.
While suggesting AVC to go ahead I also suggest to other Goan Associations based not only in Kuwait but also in other places and countries in the world. We have many such associations in the World where Goans are settled but they are sometimes seen doing only charitable activities in Goa. While doing charitable work they must also think of protecting Goa by holding Goan land in their hands.

AVC'S "THIS IS IT" ROCKED KUWAIT.
The event kicked off at 9.30pm with the maverick emcee Floyd stirring the crowd with his powerful voice and frame. ALCATRAZZ from Goa started the proceedings taking off in style. The crescendo was maintained by the Srilankan band NIRMANA by providing a short but electrifying fusion and ALCATRAZZ took over playing nonstop music to the guests who did not want to leave the massive dance floor even for a minute. The hall was packed to its brim with guests trickling in as late as 11.30pm. The organizers made elaborate arrangements for the guests to be at ease and the wrist tags a first of its kind in a major event in Kuwait at the entrance for all the guests ensured discipline and man management.
The Kuwaiti guests were enthralled by this outstanding performance and were seen enjoying the event along with the guests from other countries. This event brought many nationalities together in unison. The classy crowd enjoyed each and every moment of the proceedings. The organizers had the privilege to host the guests who had come to Kuwait to attend the NRI Goan convention including John D’Sa and Simon D’Silva from Qatar. There were prizes and surprises given away ranging from air tickets to electronics to household items to restaurant vouchers etc during the entire duration of the show. The show was captured live by Raoul and can be viewed at RAOUL's Picasa Web Album - This Is It.
The mouth watering snacks and sumptuous buffet provided by the Chef of Crowne Plaza Hotel enlightened the event further. The organisers had to bring the curtains down on the mega event at 5.30am next day after 8 hours of absolute and nonstop entertainment and thus fulfilling the promise of ‘’ One wild night’’ made to the guests.
The organizers would like to thank the all the sponsors, Alcatrazz, Nirmana, DJ’s Flip, Roshan, Marlon, and Brandon, Emcee Floyd, the guests, Gabriel Fernandes, Christopher Fernandes (IFFK) Gasper Crasto and Gasper Almeida of goa-world.com, goanet, indiansinkuwait, Arab Times, Mr. Veronica Fernandes of goa-kranti.blogspot, goancauses, Hotel Crowne Plaza, members and families of Dreams Entertainment and AVC-Kuwait and all those who contributed to make this show a stupendous and grand event.

MANUEL D'COSTA ON KIFF & IFFK - KUWAIT.
to: goa.kranti@gmail.com,
IFFK and the hidden act of false propaganda
I, Manuel D'Costa, challenges the person who wrote all false about me to come face to face and dicsuss this issue.
They then shifted base to Shuwaikh grounds, by colluding with the person who was banned from KIFF for indiscipline. Once the ban was removed again KIFF was driven out by the ground authorities and the person responsible was the same person who shouts on the ground like a Mad …
A.My dear freind whether I was banned or not its not your problem. This was purely a revenge taken by the ex President and then the sports secretary of KIFF Derreck Gomindes. I still remember saying I would take revenge on these two guys though I was a spectator they had no rights to send a letter to me. If they know the KIFF constitution or they were iliterate. I knew my ban would be lifted one day or the other. Yes I did help not only the KIFF as well as United Goans Centre to conduct the tournament smoothly. I felt why not help for the sake of football. Yes you can call me mad but your family is not supporting me. There more people shouting on the grounds and having a joy of a time or even for that matter the self styled writers on e-forums that does not consider them to be mad. If you all have a issue withe KIFF then sit across the table and sort it out and don’t write tales about who is doing what. Don’t put me in this picture and hiding under a fake email.
This person still owes IFFK the money that was paid to him for getting the grounds ready last year.
A. In what way do I owe money to the IFF. Please come if you are a man come any place u want and i will face you. Dont try to spoil my name and if u do get info from one side check with the person on the other side whether its right or wrong.
This ground I was running around for the last three months for Don Bosco so that we could have our own tournaments and the money generated would go to the clubs and there are many who have heard this and they can be a witness to the issue. Dont open your tardy mouth babble anything what u like. Thats all I have to tell u the rest assured will see when u come face to face.
This is the same person who was kicked by three clubs during the last four years for indiscipline and has now joined KGA and as they say ‘’ Birds of the same feathers flock together ‘’.
Listen my dear friend I dont care what people have to say. I walked out of the clubs due to many reasons. What the clubs were paying me ask them I have spend a lot of money from my own pocket but never asked them any penny back except in AVC the only money I have asked is for the soap Football which Mr Xavier asked me to pay and I called him through Mr Kevin and he paid me. I did not produce bills of the other things I used to purchase for their (clubs) request. So Pls do not talk nonsense my friend get your facts together and then write. The three clubs if they say that they threw me out for indiscipline. I would like to ask Mr Xavier of AVC wether he threw me out of AVC for indiscipline as for Veterans I dont need to ask them anything as if they say anything like that they were all indisciplined themselves. As of Don Bosco I walked out not for any such reason you mentioned but go and ask the President my friend. So my friend looks like you have had an interview with these three clubs about me and then u write all this.
If who ever as wrote this about me and has the guts to come forward I will surely confront of this issue. Please ensure that I do not write to a funny person who wishes to remain anonymous and hidden. Expose yourself fully.
Now my Friend Regarding me joining Kuwait Goan association its my wish where I join.Nobody tells me what should I do and no one is supporting me.I hope you very well know that everyone has a past and everyone has been drunk and come and spoil others fun.Yes I do agree Mr Salvador has had his past and yes he did abuse me in the past but my friend instead of helping him aned many others we should learn to forgive them.So why are u so bothered where I join and what I do its my personnel affair.
Mr Salvador Dias and Mr Carmo Santos why dont you write about them. They are doing a fantastic job helping the indian community specially the Goans in sending their bodies back to their loved ones.Write about them the trouble they go through with the paper works. Dont bring people family into this issues leave them alone and write who has done wrong and write. You are not worth writing back. At times they even leave their loved ones at home and get things organised let it be dead bodies maids issue and many more.
I Manuel D'Costa and my Family takes this opportunity to thank both of them for the wonderful job they are doing for the goan community
If you people have an issue with the KIFF please write about them or do what u want with them and dont put my name in the issue.
Thats all I have to say.Wating to meet you if yoiu have the guts. I dont have to say anything to anyone but to you as you are the sender.
Rdgs

CHURCHILL ALEMAO - GOAN SALAZAR.
I am sure any one who went through the Herald on that day could not have missed the two full pages used to wish the two sons of the self proclaimed God’s of Goa the Alemaos, on their birthdays but what amused me most was the fact that they were proclaimed as dynamic leaders. What have they led ? It surely wasn’t 1st of April. Was this a joke or is it telling us of something to come ? or is it just a laughing matter anymore ? Since when have these pups in diapers become dynamic leaders ? What an achievement for the babies who have just stopped suckling.
It looks like it’s a publicity campaign to get the whole Alemao clan in to Goan politics. I would like to ask Goans one question, Goychem rajkaron Alemao-ank dotik dil’lam au den’neank dil’lam ? First it was the king momo himself, who was brought in Goan politics by “qumpar” Luizinho, then came the brother who is involved in illegal mining, then the lawyer daughter turned “dynamic social worker” overnight who is being forced upon us and now the pups in diapers are being prepared to harvest Goa.
Within half a century of Salazar being driven out of Goa, we will be ruled by the new self proclaimed Salazar called Churchill Alemao. It’s right on the cards there. Goans watch out all signs are pointing towards a dreadful future for Goa, be on guard. We have plenty of Goans who can and will work for Goa and Goans interests, please support them to help you, your children and Goa be a better place to live in. Wise up Goans ! Please do not fall for the trickery and the treachery of the Alemaos.

IFFK SOCCER TOURNAMENT IN KUWAIT.
Big Boys boss Mr. A. Cadiri had his game plan well set in place by using his wingers to attack by using their right wing. Fazal Mohammed of Big Boys troubled the Real Betalbatim defense and missed out on a couple of goal scoring opportunity and could have taken the lead by 3 goals in the second. Brilliant display by Big boys mid field Mohammed Shereef and it is to be said that this team shows promise and will be one to watch in days to come.
The teams are divided in 2 pools as listed below:
POOL A = Mac / Veterans / Fahaheel Bros (A) / AVC & Don Bosco Oratory
POOL B = Real Betalbatim / Indians / Fahaheel Bros (B) / Big Boys & US Guards.
Speaking to Indian Football Federation – Kuwait (IFFK), Council members present on the first day of the IFF-K 9 A side league cum knock out soccer tournament commented: Mr. Bernard Fernandes stated “The federation has taken the time out from the IFF-K League, giving teams to play a different format of this sport and the move from a grass ground to a synthetic turf. The players will find the difference playing on two different fields which are FIFA approved’’.
And Mr. Xavier Furtado added that the ‘’Federation has always come up with something extraordinary and surprises. Like our last season 2009/2010 finals trophies for both individual and team were ordered from the United States of America, and we try our best to ensure all trophies for tournaments organized by the federation will be imported this time too. The Indian Football Federation Kuwait is purely for promoting soccer in the State of Kuwait and it stands united on this front. The Federation is the first of its kind in Kuwait where all are invited to play the game without any discrimination’’.
Two grounds (Salmiya Baladiya Stadium and Daya Astro turf) are made available by the kind hearted Kuwaiti authorities to the Indian Football Federation Kuwait to organize its matches for this season.
Matches for next Friday 26th Nov 2010 – US Guards v/s Fahaheel Bros (B)
Don Bosco v/s Fahaheel Bros (A)
Indians v/s Big Boys
All matches organized by Indian Football Federation – Kuwait are officiated by the professional Indian Football Referee Association (IFRA).

LETTER TO MR. VERONICA ON KIFF & IFFK.
You have hit the bull’s eye once again, but the ground reality is this that these are thick skinned people and nothing affects them. Sometime back there was an article in one Goan Website that the highly rated KIFF league is starting and KIFF instills discipline and unity. What does discipline and unity stands for. On 17th November 2010, Don Bosco Oratory organized an open 7 – A - Side football tournament and KIFF sent a circular to all its affiliates not to participate in this tournament and if done then all the participating players will be banned from playing in KIFF. Is this unity? Is this the way for KIFF to promote football? This decision was taken by only four people. The morons in KIFF have their referees meetings in Don Bosco complex, so why not ban the referees and those participating in it? Why use this religious institution for your selfish gains? Why ban players from playing the game? In the recently concluded UG tournament there were players from IFFK who played for some of the clubs affiliated to KIFF, then why these clubs were not banned from doing so? If KIFF thinks that they can eliminate IFFK from Kuwait then they are sadly mistaken as IFFK members have the capacity and the strength to eradicate these crooks. KIFF has become an institution of anti-football persons who only see their own benefit. It is now run by ineffective elders who have lost their marbles and sanity. These elders represent some clubs which do not win any silverware in the tournaments, but the representatives are given cheap mementos at the finals to fill their cabinets at home. The late legend of Indian expatriates soccer Mr. J.P. D’Mello must be turning in his grave seeing all the ills being plagued with KIFF. Long Live his Soul.
Mr. Veronica so far in IFFK we have tolerated. Members of KIFF tried to stop the Salmiya Baladiya ground for us, but were kicked out by the ground authorities. What a shame for the four people who went with their Pajeros when driven away from the ground. KIFF were kicked out from Bayan grounds when UFC shamed the grounds by littering the pitch and what did KIFF do? They blamed IFFK members. They then shifted base to Shuwaikh grounds, by colluding with the person who was banned from KIFF for indiscipline. Once the ban was removed again KIFF was driven out by the ground authorities and the person responsible was the same person who shouts on the ground like a Mad …... What did KIFF do? Once again they blamed IFFK members. It was according to information this very Mad …. who was responsible for stopping the Shuwaikh grounds as he was clearly heard in Salmiya stating that he would take his revenge on KIFF for the ban. This person still owes IFFK the money that was paid to him for getting the grounds ready last year. This is the same person who was kicked by three clubs during the last four years for indiscipline and has now joined KGA and as they say ‘’ Birds of the same feathers flock together ‘’.
Now it is rumored that KIFF is going to allow players to take part in IFFK tournaments only if these players dole out their wives and girlfriends to the KIFF committee members. This is the level that they stooped now. IFFK can trample these worms in KIFF, but its genuine parentage does not allow it to do so. I wonder whether these illiterates in KIFF have a full knowledge as to who have fathered them. The President of UFC in his tiatros educates the audience about discipline and unity, but backstage is full of deceit and shame. The Sports secretary of KIFF who is better known for his illegal betting on the ground is another member of this shameful gang who has destroyed the game. He has taken KIFF for a ride only for his selfish motives so that his catering stall survives.
What is more annoying is that Goans have starting pimping in KIFF. They also have become hijras. Some of them are presidents of clubs which consists of goons and thugs. These so called presidents are non entities in Goa and they will pay heavily for this mess once they visit the homeland. Mr. Veronica we do not want to take on these KIFF hijras as we are educated and disciplined, unlike these illiterate KIFF worms that have come to Kuwait to survive.
Once again Mr. Veronica we are indebted to you for taking up our cause and please send this post to as many distinguished people who you know so that everyone of Goan origin knows about our Goan enuchs in Kuwait.
Member of IFFK.

KIFF DESTROYER OF FOOTBALL IN KUWAIT.
On 5th of this month during the final of 35th edition of UG Cup.Recently I was in Goa. Reading from Goa-KRANTI, many people in Goa were annoyed at the negative attitude shown by KIFF for the reunion. Some people even suggested to stone the houses of KIFF members and supporters at Nagoa but I refused to lend my support for such activities but preferred to go with black flags to their residential places and if possible to gherao them at the Airport at Dabolim. Because of KIFF dadageri the unity of Goans is affected. This is not good for Goan unity especially now when unity of Goans is imperative because we are facing opposition from non-Goans. I am sure every Goan is aware of the Goans in KIFF who are promoting disunity among Goans in Kuwait. KIFF Goans are impotent to create any Goan movement in Kuwait. They have not done anything great among Goans in the past and in future too they will do nothing. They are like Worms feasting on the dead bodies in the grave. Very shortly many of them will be in Goa and at that time they should be put into the shame. None of the KIFF Goan member should be left scot free for destroying Goan unity.
Because of Kuwait football, in the past, Goans doing dadageri in Kuwait were assaulted and one of them in my presence at the Panjim-Betim Ferryboat. If it was not for me, one of them would have been thrown into the Sea. My advice to Goan member of the KIFF, do not cross the boundary. You all are nothing in Goa. It is not my wish to see fights taking place in Goa because of the KIFF dadageri but past events should give us some lesson. KIFF cannot rule supreme in our soccer activities in Kuwait. The parallel organization IFF is also going strong and they also conduct their activities with the participation of about 9 teams. The split in KIFF was the result of the childish attitude of those running the KIFF affairs. KIFF is unfit to run their affairs smoothly and unitedly. Because they are unfit, KIFF got splitted and those who are supporting the splitted KIFF are the enemies of Goan unity.

THE BUCK STOPS WITH YOU, MR. PRIME MNISTER.
must accept responsibility for the happenings under his watch, says Vivek Gumaste.
With one scam after another tumbling out of the closet, the Congress-led United Progressive
Alliance government is scrambling for cover with no place to hide. No amount of obfuscation,
no amount of stalling and no amount of diversionary tactics is going to absolve them of these
crimes or deflect the taint that sticks to them like wet mud.
Instead of coming clean and owning up its responsibility, the Congress party seems hell bent on
pursuing a dishonourable course using every trick in its armory to hoodwink the public at large
and throw them off track.
Corruption is a cancer that eats into the soul and body of a nation, denies legitimate citizens their
rights, deprives people of the amenities they deserve and illegally empties the coffers of the
nation with large amounts of monies being siphoned of by an unscrupulous few. The net effect is
a change in value system that now places a premium on money power rather than honesty, hard
work and merit.
It is the duty of the government in power to keep such thievery at bay and the present UPA
seems to have done an exceptionally bad job at stemming this rot. The finger of accusation must
perforce point to the head of state; titular or not he must accept responsibility for the happenings under his watch.
Leadership is not merely an exposition of ones superlative abilities or chaste character;
something to be flashed like a showcase diamond. Intrinsic to leadership is an ability to enforce
and demand the high standards that one adheres to. By this criterion, Prime Minister Manmohan.
Singh falls way short of the mark; his pristine innocence is sinking imperceptibly into the
quagmire of sleaze and bribery that engulfs him, nullifying in the process any residual altruistic
advantage his personal honor may have conferred.
The prime minister has shown singularly poor judgment in his oversight of A Raja, the telecom
minister hailing from the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam; his silence and inertia making him an
accomplice to the transgression. In a graft of unparalleled proportion, Raja, in 2008, issued 2G
spectrum to service providers on a first come first serve basis at rates that corresponded to 2001 levels causing a shortfall to the exchequer to the tune of 90,000 crores; the date of filing was also arbitrarily and abruptly changed to favour a few.
Evidence of wrongdoing has being pointed out by two watchdog institutions. In November 2009,
the high court decreed that the Department of Telecom decision to advance the cut-off date was
illegal. The Comptroller and Auditor General report directly indicted the ministry for blatant
favoritism: "The policy was not transparent and the DoT had tipped off the firms in advance, as a result of which they had been able to arrange demand drafts worth Rs 1,650 crore in just 45
minutes to obtain pan-India licences."
Yet the central government brazenly chose to support Raja. Flouting all norms of decency and in
direct negation of public interest, the government embarked on a concerted rescue mission filing
an affidavit in the Supreme Court that claimed Raja's actions had the sanction of the prime
minister and even questioned the propriety of the Supreme Court's intervention in this matter.
Fortunately for the prime minister, Raja resigned on Sunday, saving the government from further embarrassment.
Machinations necessary to maintain a coalition are acceptable but only to a degree. Basic
principles like truth and public benefit cannot be sacrificed at the altar of coalition dharma and
that is precisely what the UPA government did for almost two years.
Coming to the CWG fiasco, it stands out as a prime example of national interest being relegated
to second place by an unholy cabal of unprincipled politicians and crooked vendors. That these
misdeeds sent India's ranking on the corruption scale plummeting to a dishonorable 87 didn't
really matter to these worthies or their masters. Neither was it their concern if their shenanigan resulted in a negative impact on future foreign investments in India. The point however is that
without the incompetence and possible connivance of the Congress party, this grand design of
overt embezzlement could not have been carried out to fruitation.
However, it is the Adarsh building scam that must take the cake for depravity. The rights of
unfortunate and helpless war widows of the Kargil conflict were usurped by the high and mighty
to feather their nests making a mockery of emotions like empathy and ideals such as patriotism.
Again this act of deceit was supervised by a host of important Congress functionaries leaving the
party little scope for denial.
Nevertheless the Congress party shamelessly made a play for exoneration by naming others like
the BJP chief Nitin Gadkari as co-beneficiaries of the scam. By implicating its adversaries the
Congress party cannot diminish its culpability. Moreover, the Indian public is not interested in
the party affiliations of the corrupt or their vital statistics. They are interested in bringing the
guilty to book regardless of whether they belong to the Congress, the BJP, or any other party and the responsibility for this lies fair and square with the Congress as the party in power.
Cosmetic touches like the dismissal of inconsequential players or efforts to disseminate the
blame will not pass muster. Assertive action that goes to the depth of these despicable deeds
followed by appropriate remedial measures to prevent an encore is the need of the hour. For that the prime minister must take the lead. He has no option: The buck stops with you, Mr
Prime Minister.
Vivek Gumaste.
CHURCH ALCOHOL SLUMLORDS BUILDERS POLITICIANS.
NO NOT ALL OUR PRIESTS ARE ROGUE ELEMENTS But then, as the saying goes, one bad apple in the basket full of good apples can ruin that basket. In his new book, George Bush reveals his story of abrogating alcohol from being a hardcore drinker. "Alcohol becomes central to your life. And I finally woke up and realized that I did not want to live a life where alcohol was central. And I'm convinced, I really am convinced, had I not quit drinking, I wouldn't be sitting here as a former President." he added. In order to maintain his rigid discipline, George imposed an inflexible order on his life. Like any addict in recovery, he needed a regular schedule, rising early and retiring early. He prayed daily from his Bible, which was divided into 365 readings, each from the New Testament, the Old Testament, Psalms and Proverbs. Edgy and impatient, he exercised at least one hour, sometimes two hours, a day. With martinet punctuality, he started and ended meetings exactly on time. The routine became the core of his developing political career, first as governor of Texas and then as president. Christians in India are not only being looted of their lands in Broad-Day-Light but are also being denied Govt. Job rights, Civic rights, Human rights. But no problem.
The command to endure suffering is just another part of a Christian's life. Faithful Christians of all ages have suffered; we are not the only ones. We should expect more sufferings to come because we are living in a country which is hostile to Christians & Christianity. The Marathas who dominate the Politics & Administration of Maharashtra are not the natives of Konkan. This explains why the Marathas were/are not interested in protecting the open spaces, gardens, playgrounds, mangroves, saltpan lands, forests, wetlands, ponds, wells, lakes, agricultural lands, quarries or pits, creeks, water sources in the konkan region from being encroached by the Slumlords, Builders, Bureaucrats, SEZ operators, Mining operators, IAS/IPS officers, Municipal Ward Officers, Collectors & Corrupt/Greedy Politicians. There has to be debate in India as to why the Christian Missionaries are aggressively trying to convert only the Dalits & Tribals to Christianity. There has to be a debate on the sources of funds of Christian missionaries. There has to be a debate whether the Indian Government should put a BAN on entry of Christian missionaries & Right wing Hindu groups in Dalit & Tribal areas. There has to be a debate as to why Politicians in India are not interested in passing stringent anti-corruption laws.
China has passed severe anti-corruption laws including death penalty. There has to be a debate whether the Brahmins & Upper Caste Hindus are Indians or Indo-Aryans from Persia. There has to be a debate as to why all the leaders of rss, vhp, bajrangdal & bjp are from the Uppercastes & Brahmin stock. There has to be a debate why the secular Congress Party has banned some Muslim fundemantalist groups but the same secular congress party has not banned Hindu fundamentalist groups. There are some Christians in India who inspite of having Christian names have given their children Hindu names. There has to be a debate to find out the reasons behind this. The credit for India’s Freedom should go to the Germans & Japanese who severely injured the military spine of the British Empire during the Second World War. With an injured military spine the British Empire was not in a position to control the freedom struggle in India and fled in a hurry in 1947.
INDIA’s TRAGEDY :
1. Over-Population and Female foeticide/infanticide.
2. Water shortage in most parts of the country
3. The low standard of education in government schools
4. High cost of real estate in urban India
5. A 'slow ' and 'overburdened' legal system
6. Bad Roads
7. Communalism and divisive politics.
8. Allurement based conversion activities of Christian Missionaries and Forcible Re-conversion activities by Right Wing Hindu groups.
9. Low wages/rewards.
10. Unemployability of youth
11. Lack of jobs which pay decent wages.
12. High cost / unavailability of electricity
13. Farmer suicides & Debt.
14. Inability to produce Olympic calibre sportsmen
15. Border disputes with China and Pakistan
16. Terrorists (internal)
17. Terrorists (external)
18. A poorly equipped police force
19. CORRUPTION IN GOVERNMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!
20. Poor pay for nurses
21. Lack of healthcare in rural India
22. Noise pollution in cities
23. Environmental pollution
24. Open sewage drains
25. Open garbage bins
26. Slumlords and Slumdwellers.
27. Reservation System which has only benefited the creamy layer among the SC/ST/OBC.
28. BIMARU & Over-Populated States of UttarPradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan & MadhyaPradesh - these 4 states are giant holes where a significant proportion of productive wealth generated by India disappears.
29. APATHY IN PUBLIC SERVICE BODIES, like the passport office, ration shop, government hospitals, RTOS, Electricity Office, Water Supply Board, city development authorities.
30. Domestic Violence, Child labour, Single woman, safety of ladies, economic issues of elderly people, corruption in municipal corporation department of bombay, delhi, etc , No cleaning of roads daily, No regularity in removing waste from houses.
31. Few hot chicks (one of my friends claims its because of arranged marriages which produces not so hot offspring....but i donnow)..
32. Overweight/ badly dressed men.
Solution :
Vote. For a better india. Pray. For good leaders. Love. Yourself and your neighbour. PLANET EARTH does not have unlimited resources to satisfy the wants and needs of every individual and hence population control is justified. Christians around the world stop with the second child but what about the Muslims & Hindus.

I wholeheartedly welcome the release from the House Arrest for the last 7 years of Burmese political activist Aung San Suu Kyi. It was very encouraging scene to see her walking freely and openly along with her supporters after her release. Condemning to live in solitary confinement for the last so many lengthy years, I thought she would lose her sanityand self confidence. But no, she looked perfectly well and upright. I admire her for not talking ill of the regime that sentenced her to thissolitary confinement. Instead of talking ill she talked of the language of reconciliation with the regime, truly in Ghandian way and as followed by Nelson Mandela when he was released from the prison in Soth Africa. Eye for an eye and tooth for tooth is not the proper way to solve the problem. It is only thru goodwill she can earn better dividends for her fight for introduction of genuine democracy in Burma.............

KONKANI BOOK RELEASED IN KUWAIT TODAY.
In a function organised in Kuwait City by Kuwait Konknni Kendr, well-known journalist Daniel F. D'Souza's book "CHUN'NAM ANI KAN'DDAM" was released thru the hands of A. Veronica Fernandes - the founder of Kuwait Konknni Kendr. The function was attended by the members of KKK and their Konkani lover friends. THE GOAN DILEMMA. By Freddy Agnelo Fernandes.
Lot of people ask a very valid question, why is Goa being turned into a concrete jungle without the required infrastructure ? All over Goa it’s the same state of affairs and activists and people are asking the same question, but get no answers. You find Kashmiris, Rajasthanis and ofcourse the rich Gujjus all over Goa, doing what they do best trying to buy everything and everyone with their money power and we Goans loose our bearing and gobble up what’s thrown at us. It’s us Goans who have been selling our ancestral lands, not the one’s we bought with our hard earned money but what has given to us as a legacy by our ancestors, words once spoken cannot be retrieved, what’s said is said, so is the land that is sold, once sold it’s gone. The destruction of our rich fields, ecology and our environment has been termed as development, but when asked development for whom ? They just seem to have amnesia.
During the Carmona mega housing agitation, Orlando was pushed against the wall, but fought and exposed, the self proclaimed man of the masses, Churchill Alemao, who went on to say that the activists and NGO’s were squealing like pigs, when they objected to the mega project, he further went on to call it a developmental project where Goans could work as watchmen, while he and his entire family became billionaires at the cost of Goa and Goans. The days when we could take a long relaxing walks on beaches without being hassled or without our path being blocked, by temporary or permanent structures, or even the beach beds or shacks, have long been gone. Today you see all filth, beggars, conmen, conwomen, junkies, thieves, peddlers and even rapists and murders laying siege to our once safe and beautiful beaches. Commercialism, corruption, unhealthy and unplanned tourism has been the cause of our misfortune.
There is yet a new breed of Goans that have popped up of late in different medias, professing the very old adage “if you can’t beat them join them” and are sing paeans of the corrupt politicians on different medias, thinking that they could change the carnivorous Hyenas into veggies and I am sure it will not be long before these guys get hooked to the carnivorous diet of the Hyenas themselves, if they have already not got the taste of it. Our corrupt politicians will not change unless we stop them by force, they will never listen to reason or goodwill, that good old dogma has been cast into the bin. It’s only the public outrage that can bring about a change and force the Hyenas into a veggie diet. I am happy that there are a lot more people and youngsters who want a change and are getting involved, the trail has been picked up and it won’t be long before the pose catches up with the renegades, that, will be the day of reckoning, the dawn of a new era. Hope we can be proud of our beloved Goa once again in this life time.

IS SONIA GANDHI A CHRISTIAN & OBAMA A MUSLIM?
Nobody has seen Sonia Gandhi visiting a Church in Delhi to attend Sunday Mass. Neither anybody has seen Sonia Gandhi celebrating Christmas or Easter. The case of Sonia Gandhi is similar to Barack Obama. Nobody knows whether Obama is a Christian or Muslim and nobody knows whether Sonia Gandhi is Catholic or a non-catholic. If Hindus were persecuted in America the Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would have certainly raised the issue with US President Barack Obama. Just as Indian PM raised the issue of attacks on Hindu students in Australia with then former PM Kevin Rudd. But persecution of Christians in India is not of any relevance to Bill Clinton, George Bush, Barack Obama, Cameron, Mandela, Blair, Rudd and other World Leaders ( retired or in service) this explains why none of these world leaders have spoken with Indian PM on the problems which Christians face from right wing hindutva groups especially the Christians living in the states of Orissa, Karnataka, Gujarat, Maharashtra & MadhyaPradesh.
The idiotic and boring sermons which the Clergy give during the Sunday sermons is not going to save Christians. In Kandhmal the clergy and missionaries fled to the safety of Kerala & Tamilnadu leaving the Tribal Christians at the mercy of the Hindu Terrorist Groups ( rss, vhp, bajrangdal, etc) who are masquerading as Hindu Cultural groups. What if the Hindu Terrorist groups decide to replicate the anti-christian kandhmal experiment in other parts of India. Are the Christians prepared. There are only two options left with Christians in India – learn combat-commando training and be prepared for a holy war with the sangh parivar (rss, vhp, bajrangdal, etc) OR migrate to Christian countries as suggested by some Vishwa Hindu Parishad leaders.
Apart from the threat of Hindutva radicals the Christians in India are also facing many other problems like loosing their lands due to encroachment by outsiders and inability in getting government jobs, housing & other govt. facilities BUT what is even more sad is that christians/catholics also face problems from rogue parish priests who misuse church funds, who illegally sale church properties and siphon off the money and who refuse admission in parish schools to children of poor catholics. It is very shameful when the parish priests during Sunday sermons talk of charity and serving the poor when they don’t practice what they preach.
Protecting Catholicism is not just the duty of Popes, Bishops, Cardinals & priests. The catholic parishioners should also do their bit by forcibly evicting rogue parish priests from their churches. Catholicism has died in Europe because of the separation of the church and the state, the secularization of the catholic church by the clergy and the extensive use of abortion pills by the European women. How can Barack Obama or anyone claim that India is a World Power when more than half of India’s population lives on Rs.20/- a day.
The Christian (catholic, protestant, baptist) Missionaries will continue with their mission of converting the Dalits & Tribals to Christianity and the Hindutva Radicals will continue with their mission of re-converting the dalits & tribals to Hinduism. The only solution for this problem would be for the Indian Government to Ban the entry of Christian Missionaries & Hindutva Radicals in Dalit & Tribal areas.
Indias Problems –
Lack of Infrastructure, Industries, Job Opportunities in rural and backward districts due to which people from backward and rural districts keep on migrating into cities & towns.
No strict implementation of the Two Child policy in UP & Bihar due to which the population of the Bhaiyyas & Biharis keeps on multiplying and becomes a burden on the rest of India.
Female foeticide/infanticide especially among the Hindus due to which the female population in the Hindu community has been declining at an alarming rate. No Fast track courts to deal with divisive politicians, arsonists, rioters, communal forces.
No Fast track Anti-Corruption courts to deal with corrupt politicians, corrupt ias/ips officers, corrupt govt. servants, corrupt municipal officers, etc.

COUNCILLORS ARE PAUPERS IN THE HANDS OF POLITICIANS. By Nisser Dias.
I would not like to paint all the councillors with the same brush as there might be a few who think they can bring about a change. Their intentions have to be applauded. But the majority of the newly elected councillors in the present scenario have aspirations of not bringing about a change in the present circumstances but of climbing the ladder of politics as there is easy money to make where there is politics. It sounds better when reminded of an old saying, ‘It is all about money honey’. Or they are pawns in the hands of some politicians and politicians-to-be.
I know that the councillors will take objections to my point of view but then if they had the interest of our towns in their mind and their heart, why are they part of the panels set up by dubious politicians. And knowing our politicians and politicians-to-be who do not have a good record at all. They work on the basis of commissions and their prime interest is to make money that will last them for generations. In fact one minister in the present cabinet during his deposition in a court of law at Quepem, when questioned about his profession said it was politics; it is on record at the Quepem court. Do we need further proof that our politicians have made politics their business and now they are expanding it by bringing in the family members be it in assembly or the panchayat or at the municipality level.
Now coming back to the issue of panels being set up by politicians to indirectly take control of the functioning and administration of local self governing bodies like the panchayats and municipalities. When a politician or politicians-to-be form panels or set up candidates to contest elections the first thing that happens is politicians field their ‘Yes’ men and women. If at all these candidates are successful they are indebted to that politicians and all throughout the tenure the councillors or panchayat members are forced to do their bidding even if it goes against the personal belief of the councillors. Thus the mandate given by the people to the candidates to carry out development is dashed ironically because the councillors are held in an iron grip by the politicians who are not answerable to voters for the decision imposed and carried out by the councillors.
Secondly a new form of extortion, blackmail has emerged in the recently concluded municipal election due to success of panels floated by the politicians or politicians-to-be. Let’s take the example of the panel floated by the Revenue minister and Vasco MLA Jose Philip D’souza. Besides the violent fracas between him, his supporters and his party colleague former Tourism minister and Benaulim MLA Mickky Pacheco, only two from his panel got elected and that too happens to be his wife and brother. But the D’souza has the audacity to demand that his wife chairs the council. Otherwise he has allegedly threatened to stall, stop co-operation from the Urban Development and PWD ministries. The message he is trying to send to the group of councillors who have come together to form the next council is that if they do not agree to do his bidding he will be an obstacle to their functioning and thus to the development of Vasco.
Various developmental schemes for the port town or the allocation of funds are not showered upon it by Jose Philip D’souza from his personal wealth, the council whoever might be heading it, should get it by way of right and not by way of choice or favour. And if at all there is any truth that the Vasco MLA tried to send such a message, then the people of Vasco ought to outright reject this man at the next assembly hustings.
Coming Margao Municipal Council, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) general secretary Vijay Sardessai has managed to get seven of his candidates get elected as councillors and he is in a position of calling the shots. Another seven owe allegiance to chief minister Digambar Kamat who also had set a panel and both are trying to form the council with the support of others. Now Digambar Kamat and Vijay Sardessai happen to be members of the same party. At the same time it is an open truth that both these politicians have been at loggerheads from times immemorial. The only difference is that Kamat had been elected as the councillor of Margao Municipal Council whereas Vijay managed to get himself co-opted and the latter’s tactics of free-wheeling and dealing are not only well known but legendary. Then Digambar Kamat has proved his popularity among the people of Margao by getting elected to legislative assembly for three consecutive terms, whereas Vijay Sardessai tasted defeat at the last assembly hustings.
But then Sardessai has the impudence to hold the Margao Municipal Council to ransom. If one analyzes his demand for Rs. 25 crores package for development of Fatorda in exchange for support in the council falls nothing short of blackmail or extortion. How can he isolate certain wards of the council just to benefit him and satiate his appetite of getting elected from Fatorda assembly constituency in the future? And that too an aspiring MLA-to-be dictating terms to the chief minister of the state. Worse still our chief minister Digambar Kamat has proved that he is indeed spineless by agreeing to the demands of Vijay Sardessai in principal.
Then comes Cuncolim and Canacona Municipal Council wherein Urban Development minister Joaquim Alemao has formulated or rather adopted musical chair sharing formula to keep all the elected members contented. We very well know that this musical chair concept is bad for development of the state and even towns or villages because every individual has its own vision, concepts and priorities. What guarantee is there that next councillor to head the council will continue the works initiated by his predecessor? If at all Joaquim Alemao feels that this appropriate method of governing, then he too adopt it for himself and lead by example. He too should surrender his portfolio to his colleagues.

Gentleman like Mr. Cajetan Godinho are very rarely seen today amongst us. He is a living legend and great example for all players in KIFF or IFF-K of how to conduct ourself on and off the field of play. As a player, referee and ex managing committee member of KIFF, I have learnt a lot from Cajetan. His advice has helped lot of us. Hope he continues to do so and be an ambassador for players in kuwait.

DERICK CLARIFIES-FATHER & SON PLAYING TOGETHER.
To Mr. A. Veronica Fernandes.
Dear Mr. Veronica,
With regards to the above subject, History was actually created during KIFF season 2001-2002 when father Mr. James Figueira and his elder son Jason played for Goa Maroons alongside each other. They did represent if my memory recollects for Goa Maroons in two finals one for UGC tournament which Goa Maroons lost against Navelim and the other Goa Maroons tournament which Goa Maroons won. Also in the same season both took part in two seven a side tournaments which both Goa Maroons teams reached the finals.
Additionally both father and son played alongside each other in the KIFF league. Also both father and son represented and played together for Goa Maroons during their trip in the same season in Bahrain. During KIFF season 2007-2008 when I was the Sports Sec again history was created when father James playing for Goa Maroons played against his own second son Jonas who played for Don Bosco's in the Goa Maroons tournament finals which Maroons won.

The late J.P. D'Mello, Founder President of the Association was the one instrumental in forming the current Kuwait Indian Football Federation (K.I.F.F). His memory has been justly kept alive by KIFF through its affiliated Indian football teams/clubs/associations by naming the KIFF League after him.
The Kuwait Indian Football Federation (K.I.F.F) established in 1983 controls all Indian expatriate football activities in Kuwait. In the just concluded season 2007-08, a total of 18 teams were registered with the federation with over 400 players displaying their skills every Friday morning. Apart from the League, 4 regular tournaments and 5 Seven-a-side tournaments are held under KIFF every season. The KIFF will celebrate 25 glorious years of its existence next season.
For over 30 years, Indian clubs and associations have strived to ensure development of individual players while teaching the importance of team effort, fair competition, discipline and good sportsmanship.
Players, officials, clubs may come and go. But Indian football, for sure, remains a Winner in Kuwait.
