NEW KONKANI ALBUM TO BE RELEASED BY JERRY CAL.

Very shortly,  a new Konkani Album ‘UGDDAS M. BOYERACHO” by Jerry Cal from Calangute Bardez, will be released in Calangute, precisely on 8^th of next month.  This Album is going to be in two formats – CD as well as DVD.  It consists of 12 songs comprising solos, duos, duets and trios on different topics and rendered by the well-known singers of Konakni Stage, namely, Lawry Travasso, Benny de Aldona, Marcus Vaz, Olga, Bhuska, Reagan, Menino Mario, Pascoal de Calangute, Svalvador Silveira, Valency, Peter de Ugasaim and the producer of this Album Jerry Cal. 

This is going to be the second Album of Jerry Cal, the first was released 5 years back which was a CD titled “CALANGUTE”.

Jerry Cal hailing from the touristic place Calangute was till recently based in Abu Dhabi where he used to take Goan Tiatro troupes and stage Tiatros there since he himself was a good Tiatrist – composer and singer.  Among the Tiatrists and troupes he took there was M. Boyer and his troupe thru which he acquired a very good friendship of Boyer.  Hence, as a mark respect for his friendship with Boyer, he named this Album as “UGDDAS M. BOYERACHO”.

Among the 12 songs of this Album, 7 are composed by Gerry Cal comprising 4 solos from which Jerry Cal renders two; one is a title song “Ugddas M. Boyeracho” and the other “Sobit Calangute”. The third item of Jerry Cal is a duo “Devachem Nirmonn” with Benny de Aldona.  Two of his solos are rendered, one each by Marcus Vaz and Lawry Travasso while two of his duets are rendered by Benny de Aldona & Bhuska  and Reagan & Valency.

Four of the 12 songs are composed by Salvador Silveira – two of which are Trios rendered by Salvador-M. Mario-Pascoal - one on Coconut and the other on Fr. Bismarq - and the other two are Solos rendered by Olga and Bushka.

The remaining last song was composed and rendered by Peter the Ugacaim.

This Album Jerry Cal dedicated to his wife the late Theresa Fernandes. 

According to me this Album is going to be one of the best since the compositions are very good from where one can get lot of information on Goa, Goan affairs and history besides moral lesson.  Additionally the singers are all very good who have done justice to their jobs.
