Solo of Rosy Alvares
TIATRO “AMKAM KITEAK
PODDLAM” written and directed by the well-known director Mario Menezes was
staged on 25th of this month in Candolim at Church School compound
starting at 8.10 PM though it was scheduled at 7.30 PM. Once again the Church organisers headed by
the Gaumcho Pe. Vigar inconvenienced the audience by this delay.

During this period
three Tiatros were staged from 23rd to 25th but among all, as per
the audience assessment Mario’s Tiatro “Amkam Kiteak Poddlam” was better than
the others.
The story of this Tiatro is beautifully displayed around a
young College going girl (Semenca) who was raped in her own house by the rowdy
son (Franky) of the local MLA (Mario Menezes).
When this happened, everybody refrained from supporting her giving an impression
that “Amkam Kiteak Poddlam”.

The central idea of
Islam is Justice for this reason Muslims always join together to fight for
justice when injustice is done to them.
Once when Prophet Mohammed was asked “When there will be justice in this
world”, replied Prophet thus “When every one of us will gather courage to fight
against the injustice committed on to others as if that injustice is committed
on to us only, then ONLY there will be justice in this world”.

What is shown in this
Tiatro by Mario Menezes very intellectually befitting his high educational
background is not fiction but reality that is happening in our society
now. “Raza Podon mhontlear Mort marinae”
goes one Konkani saying. Since my father
is a Minister or MLA can I take law into my own hands and do whatever I want? This is the trend going on now from the time
of Sanjay Gandhi the younger son of Indira Gandhi and this same trend is nicely
followed even in Goa by some of the disgraceful sons and daughters of our
disgraceful Ministers and MLA’s. There
should be concerted efforts by all the justice seeker Goans to fight against
the injustice prevailing in our midst.

though it was good but especial mention must go to Lawry Travasso’s solo, Mario
Menezes duo with his partner, Semenca’s solo and opening solo of Rosy Alvares
which she rendered very well, both the Trios of Mario Menezes along with Tony
de Ribandar and Peter de Arambol, Joana’s comedy solo and Semenca’s duet with
Peter de Arambol.
