BRO. KEWIN FERNANDES FROM NAVELIM SALCETTE-GOA.

This young man seen in  this photograph is none other than Bro. Kewin Fernandes from Navelim, Salcette, an encouraging Seminarian from Rachol Seminary who is in Candolim since last six  months doing his missionary  duties prescribed to the young seminarians before their priestly ordination.  During my short conversation with him in Candolim Church on 28.04.19, I found in him a very encouraging Priest To Be, eager to serve God and humanity and face very boldly the onslaught currently under let lose on our community.   He looks to me more secular and his approach to the problem faced by our community from the numerically powerful community will be correct one, he looks to me interested in the development of community members, he seems to be aware of the persecution faced by our community and analyzing its ill effects it pains him very much. I am sure from my observation on his thinking, he will do some wonders in the service not only of the community but also of the society irrespective of the caste and creed.  I found him very judicious and open minded and also  a good disciplinarian.

He is highly qualified in IT having obtained Master Degree (MSc) in this field which is a rarity among our priests and young seminarians and as such he will be a big asset for the Archeodicese of Goa. Still to spend a sort of another internship of 6 months elsewhere, he will re-start his Seminarian’s studies where he probably complete his Philosophy and Teology and receive his priestly ordination in which I offer my wholehearted prayer for him to be a perfect priest which should be like the role model for those young boys wanting to be the priests.

He lamented saying there is not much prayers in our  families and there is no family Rosary in our homes. He loved Candolim and its people and enjoyed fully his six month stint in Candolim where he received shower of love from the local parishioners. He asked for the prayers for the Priests and in a special way for him to be a good priest to serve God and humanity. The parents he said must inculcate discipline into their children, stop them from coming home late at night time. The parents must take maximum interest in their children’s needs and be closer to them.

NEW TIATRO ‘SERKAR 420” BY FRANCIS DE TUEM.

It was nothing but politically UZO PARA FOG the new Tiatro staged by Francisco de Tuem and also written and directed by him only. At the moment Francisco de Tuem is the topmost Tiatrist in Konkani Tiatro World acclaimed as the best  political singer.  He is not only a top political singer but he is also the top political drama writer as well, after the great political singer and political drama writer the late Nelson Afonso,  as it was amply proved once again after seeing this Tiatro “Serkar 420” which was staged at Kala Academy Hall in Panjim at 7.45 PM yesterday with a hall packed attendance.  During those days Nelson Afonso’s 2 highly political Tiatros namely “Nationalist” soon after the invasion of Goa and followed by another “Bondolkar” were really the political thriller and nowadays I don’t think any of our living Tiatrists can pen down such daringly powerful Tiatros.

Coming back to Serkar 420, rarely in the recent past one could see such a heavy attendance as it was seen for this Tiatro yesterday.  Currently since past so many months the attendance for our Tiatros is diminishing because many of the Tiatro goers stopped patronizing Tiatros because they hate to watch vulgarity displayed openly on the stage without any shame by the shameless comedians who were rightly kept out of this Tiatro by Francisco de Tuem.  In fact it is a shame on prominent writers & directors to induct in their Tiatros such “pozdde” comedians and also “pozddim” females known for wearing “khomsio” type of vulgar dresses thereby indicating the lowering the grandeur and importance of the Tiatros./  And precisely because of this the comedy part of this Tiatro went nicely.

The Tiatro Serkar 420 is surrounded on the few social activists including one Priest whose role was excellently played by the renowned Tiatrist Joe Rose while the roles of other activists were also beautifully played by Willy and Semenca, the latter due to her magnificent performance thru her magnificent delivery fearlessly, stole the major part of the show. She is one of the darlings of the audience. The others who combined well to give extra flavour to this part of the play also deserve highest compliments because  inspite of being new at least to my eyes, they played their roles much better than many of the seasoned professionals.  Let they be the new findings by the director who always in his Tiatros introduces new faces.

The whole political tirade is directed against the disgraceful local politicians in a manner no one else does.  The tirade against the local politicians especially on ruling faction is so piercing that they are converted into “bloody fools”. If these politicians had any self respect, dignity and decency they would all jointly or individually commnit suicide.  “Kuznan ek bottler dharechi suri gheun  Kande xinntta tossech  heam volkottank  hea Tiatrant xinddleat”.  And to do like this in the Tiatro is not an easy task, only men of the caliber of Francisco de Tuem can do this. At one particular point in a song, Michael Lobo the Calangute MLA is dubbed as the godfather of Lamanis who will keep his photo in their rooms.  Finally, it is indicated why everything is not going well in our land with an answer because our government itself is 420 - SERKAR  420”.

The Side Show songs were all rendered well by all the singers, namely solos by Francisco de Tuem, Xavier Gomes, Lawry Travasso, Marcus Vaz and Domnick de Arambol so also his duet with Reema. The Political trio of Francis de Tuem – Marcus Vaz-Xavier Gomes was the best that had number of encores. Their quartet with Lawry was also liked by the audience.

INAUGURATION OF RENOVATED CANDOLIM GROUND.

Today at 2.30 PM I received  thru a hand delivery an Invitation from the Village Panchayat Candolim, for the inauguration of  the Renovated Football Ground at 4.30 PM on 26.04.19 at the hands of Tomazinho Cardoso (Ex-Speaker of Goa Legislative Assembly).

The two special invitees are Mr. Michael Lobo (MLA of Calangute and Bruno Coutinho (Arjuna Awardee).

Let me congratulate first of all our Candolim Panchayat for doing this job of renovating this ground which was gifted to Candolim boys by the late Dr. Gustavo Monteiro who along with his family has done yeomen services for the development and promotion of soccer not only in Candolim but also in Goa.  I am sure people in Candolim still remembering the sterling feat acquired thru the spread of very high quality  of modern soccer in Goa by the brother of the late Dr. Gustavo Monteiro, the late Monsg. Chico Monteiro popularly knwown as Pe Chico Monteiro.  He had unique distinction to meet with the then mighty Brazilian player Pele in 1958/59 in Portugal when he, Pe. Chico Monteiro attended a foot-ball match between Brazilians and Portuguese where Pele was playing for his home country.

As it is known to many all over Goa, Dr. Gustavo Monteiro was the leading man of promoting Candolim soccer and thru his guidance and support Candolim somewhere in 1957 reached into Primeiro Divisao, that time under Goa Foot-ball Association only two divisions were there Primeiro and Segundo.  The senior division was not existing, it was introduced somewhere in 1978/79. Later on because of his high caliber knowledge and administration in soccer, he was inducted into GFA as the President of Goa’s apex foot-ball body where he administered the affairs of GFA excellently.  Then immediately he was invited to Portugal where he was given fabulous welcome by the Portuguese people for his excellence.  

When Candolim team was in the first divison, it consisted some of the players whose genii were so great that if they were alive now and playing the same level of soccer, I am sure they would easily walk into any of the top teams from anywhere in India. To name a few, my both the elder brothers – Cheddo and Jose Marie, Babazinho and Andrew Machado (both brothers), Madhu – Kamal – Satchit (all brothers from Vaddi). They were not only footballers of very high caliber but they were jewels of Candolim on whose legs and heads were relying the greatness of Candolim;  Babazinho was such an ace dribbler centre forward that he would dribble past all the opponents from the Centre till he dribbles past the opponen’t custodian and scores the goal;  receiving a perfect pass from Babazinho or Kamal or Jose Marie from the midfield, Cheddo would score any difficult goal giving no chance to the opponent’s goalie, his right leg had such a power in it that he would sometime during his hey days would send the goalkeeper into the net with the ball.  Candolim is yet to produce another  Cheddo since last so many years.  Jose Marie was so perfect in scoring the goals from the corner kicks that like an Olympian High Jumper he would outjump every opponent in the goal mouth and head the power packed header into the net.  Yet again, not only Candolim but even Goa is yet to produce such a genius header.

The major credit for producing such a mighty Candolim Team should naturally go to Dr. Gustavo Monteiro who thru his personal influence acquired the services of 4 Portuguese Pakle soldier footballers  stationed at Aguada, they were like pearls of Candolim team. 

The bond between Candolim Foot-ball activities and Dr. Gustavo Monteiro’s house cannot be separated, what they have done for the promotion of Candolim soccer none has done in Candolim.  If today Candolim is playing foot-ball it is because of the strong base put then by the Monteiros, this fact nobody can deny.  The ground that was renovated we got it for our boys only because of the great heartedness of Dr. Gustavo Monteiro and if it was into the hands of somebody else I doubt that person would give it to Candolim Panchayat for the benefit of our boys. I have rarely come across the very high morality and spirituality that was existed in Dr. Gustavo Monteiro was also existing in our people. In our village people of high caliber and sincerity are rarity and precisely because of this the affairs of our village are gone into the wrong hands.  The persons like both the Monteiro brothers namely Dr. Gustavo and Pe. Chico are unlikely to be born again, because such persons come in any village only once in centuries, may be, most probably they may never come again.

When Monteiros have contributed so immensely for the cause of soccer in Candolim, why none of the members of Monteiros family not invited as important or special invitees?  Can their family link with Candolim football cut by anyone? When a non-Candoicar can get a prominent place for the inauguration of this ground tomorrow then why not for the genuine person especially from the soil of Candolim? I think some sort of injustice is done to Monteiros though nobody can erase the excellent work done not only for the development of Candolim soccer but also for the gift of foot-ball ground which was rightly named after the late Dr. Gustavo Monteiro.  But in the renovated ground the name of Dr. Gustavo Monteiro is missing.  Can the Candolim Panchayat clarify this point?  This ground should be named only after Dr. Gustavo Monteiro.

The inauguration will be done thru the hands of Tomazinho Cardoso who was a good player of Candolim once but it would have been better if any seniormost equally good player was given this previllege though the choice of Tomazinho is not bad.  However, one living seniormost player who played for Candolim as one of the top defenders for a long period is “Ladru” as he is known, from Candolim Ximer should have been an automatic choice. He was the top defender once for Chowgules soccer team at Mapusa and known as the best defender.

GOA FINED 10 CRORES OF RUPEES FOR ITS NEGLIGENCE.

Referring to the news item appeared in Goan news media 20.04.19, stating that “Goa fined Rs. 10 crores for missing Nat Games  deadline”, though it is deserving yet my Goan feelings and patriotism are a bit hurt.  I don’t know why for so many times Goa had to defer the hosting of these Games thereby putting into inconvenience not only the Indian Olympic Association but more than that the participating athletes  and sportspersons who based on the scheduled date prepare themselves with vigorous practices bringing the body conditioning to the highest peak to win the medals.  And after undergoing such a grueling training, the concerned authority declares its inability to host the games means something drastically wrong, first with the host for not doing its planning properly to prepare itself with all the facilities and secondly the IOA for being  inefficient in overseeing the preparations of all the  facilities by the host, Goa.

Parricar was boasting that we will organize the hosting of National Games with pomp and grandeur but Parricar was Parricar whose love and knowledge for sports was zero, he was not Dayandanda Bandodcar who was the genuine great sports lover under whose dynamic leadership the first ever National Foot-ball Tournament “Santosh Trophy” was so beautifully organized in Goa somewhere in 1971/72.  Though the time was short yet Bandodcar did everything possible to prepare not only one Stadium but 3 major Stadia one each in Panjim, Margao and Vasco whereas  while speaking to Ziauddin based in Bombay and who was the big man of AIFF, Bandodcar said:  “you in Bombay having such a long history and tradition of hosting national and international soccer matches, you have only one foot-ball ground while we in Goa just in our infancy in holding such events at All India level, we have 3 big Stadia.   

Now, regarding the hefty fine, who is responsible for this fine and who will pay this fine and from whose pocket?  It is become habit here for our officials to commit the mistakes and when such fines and penalties are imposed then the tax payers money are paid. This is not correct.

VOTING GOING ON SMOOTHLY. CONGRESS SEEN GAINING.

Today it is the voting day in Goa and thus it is a public holiday. The voting as per the schedule was started at 7.00 AM in my neighborhood and at 7.30  I went to vote in  the Church School where everything was going smoothly and peacefully.  The Police are found doing their job well so too the staff of the government who are pulled for this special job, there was no rudeness nor roughness either on their faces or in their dealings with the public as normally displayed by them. This is the first time I found Police force a bit civilized otherwise they think that they are coming from outside planet expecting super attention from the people.  These are the Policemen who are coming from third grade family background who think they are too smart and too superior.  These idiots Panpotti eaters acting like lions in the jungle during their employment in Police Department but once they are retired they act like cowards afraid to mix up with others because they are afraid that they may be assaulted by the civilians for their sins they committed during their hey days.

Then after sometime observing the trend of voting, I was deeply hurt to listen to the names of the voters such as Challappa, Allappa,  Gonpilla, Sumitibai, etc. All these names are of the voters from outside Goa and since they are settled in Goa which they found as an Eldorado where they can mint money and enjoy certain status and dignity in their life which were denied to them in their home land, they are very happy in Goa.  They already got the Voting Cards and since this is the case, they are also the masters of Goa and since they are also the masters of Goa by virtue of having Voting Cards, they will also decide the fate of Goa, they will decide what is good and what is bad for Goa.  And in time to come their majority will be terrific in Goa where they will be uncontrollable and we would not be able to check them. What a tragedy till yesterday and the day before yesterday when they first time came to our neighbourhood without even an ordinary “Cheddi” and their females also without proper dresses these same persons are deciding our future.  How tragic is it.  They are having a very bad opinion of Goans and taking this view in mind they will decide the future of Goa and Goans.

Oh God, where are we heading now and what will be our destination? We remained fighting among us as Hindus and Christao but the “bhaile” gained the advantage.  Hindus since 19.12.61 went on fighting to impose their dadagiri on Christao and trying to make them as unwanted in  Goa while Christao remained opposing them with all their might, money and skill to protect Goa, its boundary, identity, culture, tradition, language, folklore and everything that is associated with Goa and Goans. The hoi-polloi category Hindus from Goa preferred Ghantti Hindus in Goa to Goan Christao.  Now many of these Hindus are feeling the ill effects of these Bhaile but they on their own will never be able to do anything in this context but will these low grade Hindus who from 1961 displaying their anger on Christao purely out of jealousy,  do nothing to protect the identity of our pristine Goa. Never, how these bloody traitors  gather courage to protect Goa’s identity when these same Hindus and their elders in 1966 opted to merge Goa with Maharatra?  The greatness of my great Goa and all its attributes associated with Goa namely Language and Culture etc., were kept on the edge of Maharastra to merge with it. This is the dirty class of these hoi-polloi Hindus mainly from the North Goa who came from neighbouring Maharastra and settled down in Goa closer to Maharastra boder and from where they acquired their surnames for them.  Many of the Pednecar – Chopddenkar – Dhargalkar etc are from this past and  as such how they will indicate their affiliation to Goa? They accuse Portuguese colonialism in Goa but many of them were involved in minting money by smuggling foreign goods from Goa border to Maharastra.  A few of them were also involved in Mining business namely Bandodcar, Bandecar and others.  They enjoyed very good life during the Portuguese era, they were  very good chamchas of Portuguese but otherwise they point their fingers to others.

Then I moved to some of our neighbouring villages in our Constituency at about 10.00 AM and there too I found the atmosphere very peaceful. Hope it will remain so till the end of the voting schedule. Everywhere Congress is seen having pivotal role to play, most of the voters with whom I spoke they confessed it to me that even though  they don’t like Congress yet they have voted for Congress because Congress is less dangerous while BJP is the worst dangerous.

VOTE ONLY FOR CONGRESS TO SAVE US FROM EXTINCTION.

Why should I  vote for BJP ?  By voting for BJP I will be digging my own grave. By voting BJP back to power I will be giving full liberty to BJP to totally liquidate me from my own land because BJP has already made statements to convert India into a Hindu Raj where there will not be a place for our community members to live.  Immediately after the conquest of Goa by India in 1961, Portuguese Dictator Salazar predicted this tirade  against (Goan) Christians. The facility of Portuguese Passport for Goans is to counter the onslaught of Bharat’s BJP against Goan Christians.

It is surprising that the voice against BJP on minorities like us by their own co-religionists is not raised forcefully.  That means are they too supporting BJP to uproot Christians from Goa? Is Goa fully owned by BJP?  I don’t think it is that easy and not to make IT that easy, first and foremost we all the members of minority communities must vote for Congress and NOT to BJP.  This should be our goal tomorrow when we go to vote.

SUPPORT THE MINING BAN AFFECTED PEOPLE.

Referring to the news item in Herald dated 20.04.19,  where the Goa Mining People’s Front advised its members to vote according to their own decision though earlier it vowed not to vote for BJP. I don’t know why a sudden change of decision when the entire Goa was ready to support the earlier stand of GMPF. It is an injustice to  all the people who got affected with this crisis of mining ban due to lack of support by the BJP governments both at the Center and in Goa.  Hence, I feel people should punish the BJP in the coming election by not voting  BJP back to power so that justice is done for the affected people. If BJP when ruling at both the places cannot put things into order then who will?  This shows how dull headed BJP is. 

The Central idea of Islam is Justice and when once Prophet Mohammed was asked why there is injustice in this World and when  there will be justice in this World, replied Prophet thus: “when everyone of us will gather courage to fight against the injustice committed on to others as if that injustice is committed on to us only, then only there will be justice in this World”.

In view of above, it is our duty to support our mining affected people by not voting  BJP to power and thus indicate that the people’s voting power is more powerful.  We cannot allow BJP OR for that matter any party to take us the voters for granted.

PRODIGAL SON RETURNS BACK HOME. HOPE AS REFINED.

Till just 48 hours before Babush Monsurate was denying his joining Congress but just before 24 hours, yesterday he boldly and shamelessly re-joined Congress without even indicating his slight regret for  being in denial mood for so many days.  This is what the bad habit of our politicians of doing what they want at the last minute. By doing this he put into shame and also awkward position all of his workers and supporters who in order to support Babush, created enmity with Congress Party and its workers?  Did Babush realise this that he was the architect of the enmity between his workers and Congress? Or Babush feels the way we say in Konkani "Te boslet mojea Konkear, zaina te dusman, moje sadlea puro".Though I am happy for this prodigal son to return back home yet I am afraid how long he will remain in Congress to accomplish the mission of his Honeymoon?  

Like a Butterfly jumping from one tree to the other is his habit and what guarantee is there that he will not do the same again? If he gets what he wants, he is capable of saying "Congress ba gelet Tel launk, moje makam mevlea puro". These are the politicians who have brought disgrace not only on our democracy but also on our political system. He wants to be omnipotent  wherever he goes but will the Congress surrender its omnipotence to him if he fights for his way to do what he wants as he did last time? At this moment he is an asset for Congress  no doubt and also to all the anti-BJP forces but will he remain an asset or will he jump into BJP for the top ministerial post? Since I have no trust in any politician to be sincere, will Babush at least give me back my trust by remaining  faithful to Congress?

As I know him, Babush at times is a nice human being having vast potentials to do good for Goa and Goans, his Goanness is much superior to that of many others but his craze for power is a big hindrance. Hope he will be a refined Babush now.

FR. CONCEICAO'S APOLOGY.

I am deeply disturbed by reading in Times of India today 17.04.19 that our great Catholic priest, a supporter and promoter of our rights, Fr. Conceicao D’Silva has tendered his apology to the Collector in Margao. I am sure knowing him from close angle and moving with him on social service and also as activist in 1991-92 when I was in Goa for one full year during the invasion of Kuwait while he was assistant Parish Priest of Calangute Church, Fr. Conceicao D’Silva would not take his word back.  However, in this episode I am sure heavy pressure must have been imposed on him by his superiors either from Altinho Panjim or elsewhere.  Following the Central idea of Hinduism which is the “Obedience”, I am sure he must have tendered his apology by obeying the advice of his superiors. According to historian Toynbee, the central idea of Hinduism is “Obedience” while that of Islam is “Justice” and of Christianity “Love”.

By the way when you tender your apology you don’t become small but you must be perfectly convinced that what you are doing is correct.  Fr. Conceicao is also known for his humility and helpfulness and I made use of both his attributes when we needed some help from the local Bom Samaritan to settle one court case we were fighting against one tenant at the time of the construction of our Hotel at Calangute, Hotel Goan Heritage.  Fr. Conceicao at that time with the full blessing of his Pr. Vigar like a true Bom Samaritan did help us and this kind gesture of his I remember very well. Besides, he gave his help to many people whether he is a Christao or Hindu or anyone.   

The intellectual might of Fr. Conceicao is very great, so too the spiritual because of which he was well protected by the Heavenly God.  His political “dusman” and also the “Devchar” were prowling on him to liquidate him but with the mighty protective hand of God he is well protected and will be protected too in the future. What he preached in the sermon was absolutely true, he explained how God sends His punishment on the arrogant and cruel man.  The miserable death came on Parrikar was according to wisdomatic  persons deserving because he fooled the people of Goa enough.  Good that the death has snatched him from this planet otherwise he would become like a Dada and would employ Hitlerism to create unwanted problems for the innocent people.  Of late I noticed in him that power has reached to his head and became corrupt.  According to Political Scientist Prof. Laski: Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.  Because of his death we escaped from tasting his absolute corrupt power.  This type of episodes help us to warn our our living people to control their pride and arrogance and this is the job of the clergy to inform the living arrogant persons to behave well otherwise they will suffer from deadly sicknesses like Pancreatic Cancer, Brain Hemorrhage, Paralitic and Cardiac Strokes etc.  Thru the fear of God, our clergy brings back the proud and the arrogant to their senses back. Was it not that due to the punishment of God so many of our “Torne Bonge” MLA’s and Ministers gone to the Simitir and Musudni? Is it not that some are still suffering as punishment from God for creating troubles for the innocent people especially from the minority community?

Elsewhere in India some speakers were known to speak so badly that what Fr. Concecao spoke is nothing and yet they  were left scott – free while priest like Fr. Conceicao was reprimanded by the South Goa District Collector Ajit Roy with a warning not to repeat such actions and also with an advise “to confine himself to his priestly duties only”. Here I ask the learned Collector who gave his final verdict, “who told him what Fr. Conceicao D’Silva expressed falls beyond the Christian duties and outside the boundaries of Christianity?” I think our Jokers at Altinho imposed heavy pressure on Fr. Conceicao because they were I think, afraid that government would withdraw the grants the Diocesan Schools are getting. For this reason I think all the hurry and all the pressure for Apology. The grant that Diocesan Schools are getting from the government is not from those who are running this show and they are giving this not from their personal account.  It is the grant given by the government from the public money.  But the money accumulated thru the income from the Diocesan  Scoiety is going into whose pockets?  Who is responsible to take care of this money?  In the construction of Diocesan Schools the contribution of the Church is zero if not  negligible.  In our village when the Church School built it was built thru the finance collected from the local parishioners based in Goa and outside Goa but the profit the Church makes out of this was not shared by the Church with any one leave aside with poor students in helping them to buy books, uniforms and other necessary amenities.  In the name of charity we make our Church rich and richer and finally and ultimately in whose custody this accumulated money will fall?  Church leaders are likewise hiding many of the financial transactions, for example, where does the Sunday and other Holiday Money Collection goes? In some Gulf countries a few of those who are entrusted withthe task of counting and collecting the money from the Tray are become “Lakhpotis”.  And what about ours?  The real truth must come out.

This is to refer to the noise going all around regarding the controversial sermon preached by as disclosed, Fr. Conceicao. I fully agree with this priest in using the Church area and not a Tinto to educate the Christians as per his pastoral duty to know of the final punishment God allocates for any person who unnecessarily harasses the innocent. It is the sacred duty of the clergy to educate his people of what is good and what is bad as far as the behaviour of the politicians are concerned and who are trying to convert our land into  Soddom and Gomorrah. Since politicians are the main sinners to convert Goa into a sinful place, it becomes the duty of the clergy like Fr. Conceicao D'silva to advise the faithful in the Church to do what.  I admire the wisdom of this priest whose Video of his preaching gone viral.  This is exactly what is required to spread the message of the priest to greater number of peole. 

When there is an all-round persecution for Christians in our land and when God notice the inability of Christians to face the aggression on them then God delivers His judgment as a curative measure to give peace to the innocent victims by getting rid of the persecutor of harassment, in the form of any major sickness to the culprits.  God side not only with the harassed Christians but also with any other harassed individual and community since God is the father of all irrespective of the routes we follow to reach to God. I am sure one day all those who are fighting in this world in the name of God and in the name of their respective religions, the deadly communal battles, wars and worst fights thereby creating an inferno of this world, will be surprised to see in the next world after their deaths again burning in the Inferno of the Hell. This will be their reward for creating communal riots and fights. At that point of time they will feel sorry for their misdeeds which did not help them to reach to the Heavenly bliss.        

Regarding those pundits who are trying to teach us the Christians, the lesson saying priests should not involve in politics, again I disagree here too with this tin-pot semi-intelligents on the ground that when there was heavy campaign in Philippine to overthrow the corrupt President Ferdinand Marcos, the entire Church there openly rallied behind Cardinal Sin of Philippine who openly supported incumbent Corazon Aquino and open revolt against Marcus’ government. When He was unable to find out what was the real reasons for the entire Church to fight against Marcos, the then Pope Himself came to Philippines, saw what wrong was going on there and gave Vatican’s  consent to involve directly in this politics there to defeat Ferdinand Marcus to bring about peace in that country for the good of society. What our priest doing now in Goa is right for the good of the society otherwise our political opponents will devour us not only bodily but if possible soully. I have no faith in BJP for doing anything good for the Christians in Goa. They will gradually convert Christians as second class citizens of Goa just as those days MGP followers did and just because of this harm they did for Christians, I think God brought them to this non-entity level. And still the remnants of the old MGP still fail to realize their pride especially the Davlikars and their wives, then God will totally annihilate MGP from the soil of Goa.  We Christians have suffered enough of MGP persecution and discriminations and It is not necessary to ask punishment of God for our wrong doers because He knows whom to punish by sending what type of desease or accident or sickness.  But we also got right to ask punishment for our enemies when they are unstoppable, however, to give punishment is the decision of God who alone knows the chemistry of those who harass us.

Politics is the most  corrupt activity among us needing total attention especially by the clergy to educate our masses.  Martin Luther King the civil rightist took this burden on his shoulder and to a large extent he succeeded even though he had to be the victim of his enemies bullet. In Nigaragua  Catholic Priests were inducted into the Cabinet of Daniel Ortega.  Many clergy members criticized this induction but they never got frightened on the contrary they thanked Ortega for affording them the opportunity to serve their society well because they realized that it is by joining the political field they could serve their fellow human beings better.    

I heard once a sermon preached by one priest many years ago when I was young boy, saying “Deva tea paddayank to apleache podven ani kuddichea bollan lokanche narl choriam paddta tachi nit tuvenuch korchi, tachea eka tori payank kosli na tor kosli tori khast launchi na tor to amkam sotaitolo moro passun”.  In view of this, I cannot find fault with Fr. Conceicao going against the principle of the Christianity by preaching thus. Fr. Conceicao or for that matter any “Padri” is duty bound even to instruct the faithful in his sermon not only not to vote any disgraceful party but he is duty bound even to tell the faithful to vote for a particular party if that party is good and non-commuunal.  If  “X” party is bad then he must as true to his mission of a Padri tell openly that particular party is bad and if they are elected then there is a fear for our survival because that particular party when formed the next government, that government will take all wrong decisions, in view of this the clergy must advise the faithful in the right direction.

I don’t understand why the Church had to tender an apology on behalf of Fr. Conceisao, I want Fr. Conceisao should be strong enough at this hour of crisis and we on our part are ready to stand by him even if the Church may desert him. Our Church job is this only to desert those dynamic priests who wants to render their services for the betterment of our society. Did not our Church desert Fr. Bismark thereby allowing his enemies to make a mess of his life? Our Church leaders at moment looks like acting as Naziz with stone hearted attitude.  Today we the Catholics are so backwards because our Church leadership at the Altinho failed to guide us in the right direction.  Our Church leadership is in the hands of Ladru-Pedru type of leaders, these leaders normally are associated with Liquour – money & Sex.

Our Church at moments it looks to me is in the hands of unreliabale leaders, some of our prominent Church leaders by flirting with our enemies at night time like “Pamprelam” sell us to our enemies at day time to form their government.  Because of our Church siding with the BJP in the last election as it was disclosed, the faithful has totally lost their confidence in the Church leadership. The faithful have totally lost their trust in our Church leadership because silently like “Kole” our Church leadership without letting us know flirts with BJP when we the faithful keep our distance from BJP because we don’t like such “CEDDIOPONA". Such jobs are better suited to the Prostitutes.

OH FANATIC HINDUS, STOP SPLITTING INDIA FURTHER.

According to the news reports published on Sunday, 14.04.19, Arwind Kejrival, addressing the public meeting in Goa at Margao,  openly said that if we the voters bring back the BJP to power again, it will be the most disastrous decision of the voters because by grabbing the power back the BJP government will amend the Constitution to suit BJP’s purpose to make India a Hindu Raj just as we have in Gulf and Pakistan the Theocratic States. Though it is not easy to amend the Constitution yet BJP is having in its ranks some of the fanatic Hindus whose only motto is to turn India into a communal. These fanatic communal Hindus are not interested in the development of India nor they want India to be a metropolitan society, they want India to be a closed door society.  These are the Hindu fanatics who like fanatic Muslims devided one undevided India into pieces.  It was not people like us secular minded  who devided India by creating a partition to have two States India and Pakistan but these   BJP type of people.  They have no love for India, its culture,  tradition and history but they have love for Hinduism only in which they believe and for which they will give their life.

Said Ghandiji once displaying  his fear over Hinduism: “If Islam is uprooted from India it will develop and survive elsewhere but if Hinduism is uprooted from India it will disappear from this planet”.  But why so much of fear of Hinduism in India when it is so well protected?  Where are we heading by talking on religious issue only?  By concentrating too much on religion we are slowing down our movement for the development and progress of India.  India is a rich and vast country having enormous amount of resources of different variety and by concentrating on it and how to make use of it for the benefit of India and Indians, we could become the most powerful and richest country in the world. But these Hindu fanatics are still in this century and in this millennium too harping on glorifying Hinduism and thereby closing its doors to the minorities and others such as Christians and Muslims will be the greatest cruelty on the part of Hinduism.  Is Hinduism preaches such ferocious Hinduism like what Hitler promulgated in Nazi Germany where Jews were brought to the sub-human level?  

As for me I know Hinduism is a broad minded religion but it is the narrow minded Hindus who created a bad image India by trying to make India the land of Hindus only and also of Snakes. For this reason, since centuries back, the West looked upon India as the land of Snakes, Snakes charmers and backward Hindus.  Good that in the early stages India had gigantic men of the stature of Gandiji, Nehru, Patel, Subash Chandra Bose, Rabindranath Tagore, Dr. Francisco Luis Gomes and many others who indicated to the West that India is inhabited by great people and not by tin-pots like fanatic Hindus.  

In 1893 when the great sage of India, Swami Vivekananda visited Chicago in the USA, representing India and Hinduism at the Parliament of the World's Religions where Delegates from all around the globe also assembled, he made a comment there in America saying “I come from the land where we build Masjids and Churches along with Hindu Temples”. Listening to this statement the entire West was surprised because  earlier it had very different opinion of India, that is, India means the land of Hindus only where others are not allowed. By converting India as the land of Hindus only, will we be maintaining the legacy of India as stated by Swami Vivekananda?  Are we proud of this legacy as disclosed by Swami Vivekananda?

It is time now for the intellectual Hindus to raise their voices in unison to shut the mouths of communal voices of fanatic Hindus.

NEED OF THE GUIDENCE FROM RELIGIOUS LEADERS FOR ELECTION.

   

Being a member of the  minority community,  my fear of BJP coming back to power again is increased.  According to the latest information gathered from here and there  and of course from unofficial BJP source but from the supporters of the BJP, there may be harassment for the minorities in India in general and in Goa in particular.  Up to now neither clearly nor loudly and not openly BJP has officially denied those rumours. But one thing is certain that writers like me will be harassed and minorities and their previlleges will be curtailed, they will be treated worse than what they are treated in Theocratic country like Pakistan. Under the worst communal leadership of Narendra Modi India was burnt escalating worst killing in Gujarat when Modi was its Chief Minister. These worst killings were perpetrated on Muslims for which Modi was held responsible and because of this, America banned Modi's entry in USA.

When there was any injustice against the minorities in Goa for example against Christians, there was no open opposition from any of our Christian MLA’s from the BJP rank. Our Christian MLA's and Montris were cowards and shellfish. When attempts were made to cancel the Good Friday and 3^rd December holidays, the so powerful Mathanay Saldanha remained as a silent spectator;  when according to one source, Francis D’Souza was made to say something in favour of Hinduism, he totally jumped into Hinduism even by taking his Christianity along by calling himself like a “Pochpochit” a “Hindu Christao”;  to please his Hindu leaders Mawvin Godinho even went a step further and wearing a “Puddvem” performed Hindu Pooja. A man without character, a big BLACK MARK on Catholicism.  

If inspite of  having such powerful persons from the minority Christian community in the BJP rank and even holding important portfolios and yet not raising their voices against the injustice done by their party and government to the interest of Christians, then who will support and protect our interest?

Again elections are coming shortly and before the BJP contestants coming to our feet for begging for our Christian votes, can they assure us that no harm will be done in any way to the interest of Christians? And by the  way, how they will assure us and how we to believe them? Is there anything left in our contestants to show us that they are reliable?

Now what will be the role of our religious Gurus to guide us to vote correctly and not on communal lines and not to bad candidates? What are the lessons from the Islamic and Hindu Religious leaders for the Muslim and Hindu voters? Are they not responsible to tell their own religious people to be upright as far as their oting rights are concerned? They are religious duty bound to keep their respective religious people calm and cool during the election.  Voting right it is said as “Sacred” and as such we must accept the voting duty by casting our vote.

The Christian Church leaders especially the Catholics are fully geared up to educate the voters  as best as they can, they preach from the holy Altar the details of voting except they don’t tell directly the name  of the candidates openly.  But I feel, the Church leaders more or less are aware what is the quality of the contestant and as such they must also name  the candidates to vote.   

All the three major religious leaders must, if possible, have a meeting with them and they must come out with certain points that will give them clear lesson to explain it to all their voters. Up to now our minority community is having good resemblance of theirs that they will not do any rubbish to win the elections.  But they are very cheap and gullible easily attracted to the money.

IF YOUR GOAL IS TO DEFEAT BJP THEN VOTE FOR CONGRESS.

The Goa lover Goenkars are much worried about the re-emerging of BJP to power and thereby destroy the peace of Indians for mismanaging the government affairs and make minorities in Goa suffer in all respects  especially by denying them government jobs, harass their educational institutions, indirectly bring pressure on them in such a way that they prefer to leave Goa for Europe with the help of Portuguese Passports.  The current BJP government in Goa is very happy to see the innumerable members of our community are  becoming less and less in our own land and in its place replacements are filled with the third class residents from Ghanttar, Karnataka, Jarkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Manipur, also from many other places from India.  These new comer replacements for Goan are very cruel and hardhearted, they are like Jews coming from all around the West with all the available trades in their hands and the knowledge and courage of committing worst type of crimes, these new outsider settlers in Goa equipped with the knowledge of different trades they will provide their services to Goans very easily thereby making Goans dependent on them and when time demands they will not shy away from committing worst of crimes against Goans thereby inculcating fear into the minds and hearts of Goans. These “bhaile” are already established in the areas of their settlements their deadly gangs to threathen and frighten Goans.  Because of soft cultural and traditional habbits and also due to the long period of subjugation by foreign power we are become more docile while our unwanted guests who are on the verge of declaring themselves as genuine citizens of Goa are directly opposite to us. When time comes, they will forcibly take away our young girls from the hands of their parents and from our houses and yet  they will not get afraid of any one because the Goans in authority and with power and influence will be there always to support them and their ill deeds because these “bhaile” settlers make a very good vote bank for our leaders.  This is the very serious issue which we have to ponder over very carefully.

The Prime Minister Modi and the BJP governments in Delhi and in Goa are least bothered on Goa and Goans.  Central government does not care for Goa because the capacity of Goa to give to the Lokh Sabah  is only 2 MP’s and these two PM’s are irrelevant, even if the Centre fails to get these two MP’s from Goa, nothing negative will happen to the Central government. For this reason, Modi acts like least bothered  on two members of Lokh Sabah, he came to Goa on 10^th of this month and addressed the mammoth meeting at Bambolim Stadium only as formality and to fool the Goans.  According to his psychology he measured the weight of Goans and he noticed that they are weightless, easy to handle brcausse they are slavish, tell them one lie at this time and again repeat the same lie during the second  time/visit and yet still they will lick your ass.  Thiis is what Narendra Modi did, last time he promised to give Special Status to Goa but till now this promise was not fulfilled and yet again about 30 thousand people attended his meet.  According to my information over half the number of attendees were hired fron here and there, a good number of attendees were brought with the help of inducement from different villages in Goa on “funkott” provided transport.  Still  our people are supporting him because Modi is coming from the same religion as they are.  Religious affiliation plays major role in our people in supporting Modi even then he is the liar telling lies to Goans saying he will put their problems on the right track of settlement.  

With all my assessment and intelligence and knowledge, I can rightly say Modi and BJP will not settle any of the problems of Goa and will never fulfill the promises they gave to Goans.  In this context I rather prefer Salazar knowing he was the worst dictator that he is much superior because  he knew to honour  his given promise.  Goa was much respected by our colonialist than these Indian “Fottaxi” which is good to fire the bundle shots of “Ansae”.  

Now, the BJP cadre is justifying Modi’s actions even though they know it very well that he has already fooled and cheated the Goans.  Can the Goa BJP segment tell us whether beef will be available in Goa as before in all respects?  Is fish and other eatables especially the fruit sold all over Goa  “formalin” free? Will BJP at all India level implement secularism in India?  If yes, then why they declare their resolve to buid Ram Mandir at Ayodya?  Will BJP develop India by putting  more stress on religious matters and construction of Mandirs thereby irritating this sensitive topic?  Will BJP show us any plan of theirs in creating more and more jobs for Goan youth?  Is building the Mandir is that important or creating of jobs for the huge army of jobless Indians?  In view of this, people in Goa must not  volunteer to vote for BJP, whenever there is any public meeting of BJP anywhere in Goa, the attendees from the audience must get up and question the BJP candidate on these issues and if they say yes to you, ask the details how they will implement  them.  The time of attending the public meetings like hired Ghantis is over, now time is come again to reintroduce the system of direct democracy originated from Greece whence those ancient people used to have debate with their representatives and thus they used to test the ability of their representatives.  Thru this public questioning people will come to know the ability of their representatives whether they belong to the class of Ladru and Pedru or Lazarus and Peter. Because our Parliament and Legislative Assemblies are filled with Ladru Pedru type of Legislators we are facing the disgrace of of our democracy in India in general and Goa in particular.  I cannot understand how a boy who is a “kalcho porcho potto” without doing any work in the promotion of the party is selected to contest the election? On  what basis this type of selection is done?  How these raw material perform when they by chance are elected?  Are they matured enough to sit in the Legislatures?  Is this the way for us to develop our country, our Goa and our democracy?  This is nothing but a Big “CHAMCHAGIRI”.

The main purpose of the people in Goa to see defeat for BJP, if this is so, which is the party among all the other parties strong enough to defeat BJP? According to me it is only the Congress Party and if it is so, then all the voters opposing the BJP must without any second thought vote only for Congress Party even though this party is not without any flaws but much better than the others opposing BJP.  Non BJP voters voting for any other party, other than Congress, is increasing the count of BJP. So think now only, what you want?  BJP? Then vote for BJP directly or any other non - BJP and non -Congress.   If you don't want BJP then vote only for Congress because your goal will be to defeat BJP.

VOTING FOR CONGRESS IS BETTER.

_{Comes the question thus: Whom you will vote this time in the coming election? The answer you get most of the time is this: “All are same.  It is better not to vote only”.} 

_{See, this is due to the total frustration on the part of the voters who are disgusted with their representatives and candidates who got elected by the voters and ultimately these same candidates acted as traitors by betraying their voters with the Judas Kiss and defecting to the Parties of their choice without even consulting their voters nor taking them into confidence to change their parties.  By taking the law into their own hands these Traitor representatives in the Legislatures commit a big crime thereby giving a big setback to the democratic process that functioned so well in the earlier days.  However from the recent past the same democratic process has become corroded  not due to the fault of our democracy but because of the fault of our Legislators who are become totally corrupt and selfish and to fulfill their goals of acquiring money and power they are ready to do anything without even having any shame.  Some of these Legisators are so shameless that they are even ready to supply and dole their wives and daughters to those people who will give them what they want.} 

_{People in Goa have lost their confidence in the members of the Legislature who since last so many years are become so selfish that they are rampantly kept themselves busy in looting the people by extorting bribe from them for any services they provide to their voters. See the Jobs for sale scheme in which all the ministers are demanding huge amount of money as bribe and while asking and receiving this amount they are not even ashamed – such bastards are they. They know their mothers only but not the fathers. When the matter of money and power come they are ready to do anything.}

_{When we say all are same, I find fault with this answer in the sense that they will never be equally same since there must be some differences among them even though they are all corrupt but at least a few of them must be less corrupt than the others and for these candidates we must cast our votes instead of totally refraining from voting.  I consider refraining from voting is like a sin and as such I consider it as my religious obligation which I must fulfill.  When I refrain from casting my vote I allow my enemy who is such a corrupt to increase his count that will give him an edge over others.  And once such candidates enter the Legislatures they will do corruption all around and at that point of time we who failed to cast our votes become guilty of allowing corrupt Legislators to overwhelm us. In this case we even lose our right to pass our comment on the corrupt practices by our corrupt elected representatives.  At that articular time we should hold ourselves responsible for not doing our duty properly.}

  _{The greater culprit of our failure to fortify our democratic process and to develop the standard of our masses is the long rule of Congress Party where Congressmen by involving themselves in corruption acquired the robes of Maharajas for themselves without caring much for the upliftment of the masses where poor remained poor and rich became richer.  Winston Churchill at the time of the independence of India warned us saying “these Congressmen  will soon turn into feudal lords and will try to lead the life of luxuries and pomp thereby forgetting their duty to uplift the standard of the poor”.  India borrowed most of the best aspects for our development from Russia but “when the right to work” is concerned, India shied away from constitutionalizing this right thereby ignoring the right of an Indian to earn his livelihood. The reason behind this is,  because Congressmen had no balls to devise ways and means to create jobs for the millions of jobless Indians whose names are rotting in the Registers of Employment Exchange.  All those Congress Legislators had nothing in their heads except "Kande ani Botatte" which will not help to build  factories and industries to create jobs for our youth who are out of frustration for not getting jobs, growing old when they are young only.}

    

_{Invasion of Goa by the Congress government under the leadership of Nehru was another major blunder Congress has committed against Goans by sending without consulting and without asking permission of Goans, a huge military force and swallowing Goa as if my beloved Goa is like “Paicho Fath of Nehru”. Because of this unwanted invasion we are suffering the curse of “Bhaile” who will shortly becGome like Jews in Palestine and then they will kick us out from our land just as Jews have done in Palestine for the local Palestinians. Portuguese had to leave from Goa because Goa is not the “Bapaichem Bens of Salazar” but they should not have been sent back the way they were sent, they should have gone back after legally giving our Goa/rights in our hands just as it was done for Pondichery or Macao.}

 

_{Introduction of Emergency in 1975 was the worst crime Congress Party has committed because of which innumerable Indians suffered so much.}

_{The above mentioned crimes Congress committed against Indians cannot be condoned easily yet I still feel Congress  rule is the only salvation for us especially in Goa even though most of the Congressmen in Goa are corrupt. However, with some exceptions, they are more civilized, democratic and moreover they are not communal. If we all Indians want to live a dignified life irrespective of our caste and creed, then Congress  should be our choice.} 

_{BJP coming to power again will make our life miserable especially for minorities, they may not even allow us to practice our religion, they may nationalize our Church schools, they may tell us to eat and drink what they want, beef eating they may ban completely in Goa. I am sure every BJP man will turn himself into a Salazar to dictate his terms to us. While this tamasha goes none of the members and MLA's from our minority community will dare to  confront BJP because by merging in BJP they become slaves of BJP. Before the next election some of the minority community members/MLA's will re-enter into Congress not because they love Congress but in BJP they are denied ministerial portfolios which is good for robbing and looting.}

_{After having said what I said above, inspite of its defects, Congress is the only party that I can count for giving better governance even though other smaller parties are there but to vote for them is wasting your vote because their chances to win are very remote.}
