Panchayat election is fast approaching, at Araddy Vaddo in Candolim, it
is become the citadel of Migrants and other low caliber Ghantis who made there
their permanent residence. They have purchased there property and constructed
posh houses and bungalows. Many of these
migrants who when first time came to this place, they did not have proper
clothes to cover their bodies but today they are having not only posh clothes
and posh houses but also posh Cars like Audi, Mercedes and Porsche.
Yesterday they came walking to Araddy as labourers but today some of them
are become big contractors wielding strong money power that makes one from that
area to contest the coming Panchayat election.
This man does not know anything of this village nor the area where he
lives but he wants to be the leader of this area. See the ambition of these migrants and
Ghanttis when they are still in their infancy in our land. Most of them in their
areas from where they are come are unknown entities and would not get any
importance, they are neglected there but in Goa they want to be Czars.
Day by day, their numerical strength is increasing while ours is
decreasing. Most of them are hard and
rough people having ‘SALA BANCHOT’ Culture. Their settlement at Araddy was the
lop sided development, it was done abusively and unsystematically by those pimp
type of local leaders who were ruling Candolim at that time.
With the physical and financial power of these non-Goans, I am afraid
that shortly they may totally uproot the few locals residing in small hamlets
like Araddy, from their ancestral places just as Jews did in Palestine for the
local Palestinians and thus they established the Jewish State Israel. The locals who were running the local
Panchayat when these outsiders came to Araddy first time a few years back,
should have curtailed their uninterrupted flow but they were idiots having no
knowledge of running the village administration, they had very good knowledge
to take bribe from these migrants and allow them verbal permission to construct
their houses illegally in an unplanned manner.
What a pity it is that Candolim village with such a fabuluous past
finally gone into the hands of ignorant Pimp type of local leaders who only
indicated interest in amassing illicit wealth.
In this Araddy according to my information, there are some migrants who
are given voting rights here in Candolim Goa but without cancelling their
voting rights facility in their home States from where they came. This job local Panchayat should have done as
it is having the local leadership in its possession. But who runs our Panchayat? What is their caliber and intelligence. There is a saying in Konkani, “Kharveank nhoi
khuim ghorvam ani rendrank nhoi khuim Tarvam”. Just because Ladru is doing
this, Pedru must also follow him?”. In the same way it is said “Ghoribancheam
bhurgeank Pomburpechim festam konne sangleam?” “Har nachta mhontlear Ghanddoi
nachlear zata?”
Hence, it is imperative that we elect the right candidates to run our
Panchayats and not those who make fast money for them by taking bribes for
providing Panchayat services and surely elect not those Ladru-Pedrus’ sons and
daughters whose ambition is to act like Maharajas because they are suffering
from ancestral inferiority complex.
