Best performance artiste Jessica
Yesterday in Panjim at Kala Academy Hall, starting exactly at scheduled time 7.30 PM, I
saw the most talked and most sought after Tiatro “ZADD” written and directed by
Michael Diniz – a new comer it looks but he by staging this Tiatro already
outpaced the many of the old comer Playwrights and if I am not mistaken this
Tiatro I can rate as one of the best of the Season, at least from what I saw in
this season.

After a long time I saw a fantastic comedy
in this Tiatro which was beautifully performed by both the real ace comedian
brothers, Prince Jacob and his brother Humbert.
The scene where Humbert plays the role of a fake Priest was very
hilarious that produced peals of laughter in the Hall which was packed to
capacity. Along with both the brothers,
John D’Silva and Meena Goes contributed
a lot to make the comedy admirable. It was nice to see both the comedian
brothers again acting together and thus once again quenching the thirst of the
audience of watching the excellent comedy. What they both perform together to
the satisfaction of the audience they cant do individually. Hence, to elevate
the level of our Tiatros it is imperative that they both reunite as they were
earlier and help Konkani Stage to maintain its high level.

The Side Show songs were all rendered well,
rarely in the recent past we saw such a nice Side Show even though Duets, Trios
and Quarters were very much missing. These items are a part of Side Show and in the absence of these items the Side Show is not complete. And if the Side Show is not complete the Tiatro is not complete because full Side Show is the part of Tiatro. Olga’s political solo was worth listening (2 encores), Benny de Aldona’s
solo on the difference between new generation and old generation was very beautiful, it was composed very well and more than that it was rendered very beautifully by Benny with his majestic voice, Anthony San’s
solo on Pope’s recent visit to Abu Dhabi was very interesting so also of Xavier
Gomes’ solo “Mog Utor Devachem”, so too Rosario de Benaulim’s solo. The title song rendered by Nerisa Cardozo was
worth admiring, she sang it too nicely. Besides Ivan rendered his beautiful
solo “Soireank Patienakant”, it was well composed with good rhyming and good
theme and since I saw him first time on Konkani Stage yet I forsee him to be perfect artiste. Cajetan de Sanvordem rendered another beautiful solo with his sweet melodious voice on Pride. The young boy Baba Joshua rendered a beautiful solo with full
of confidence on the current events in Goa (one encore).
Seen in above scene are Roseferns and Jessica.
Olga is seen here singing her Political song
John D'Silva is presented with a Trophy.
Seen singing his wonderful solo is Baba Joshua
The play was surrounded mainly on seasoned
artistes Jessica and Rose Ferns as her second husband with Ivan as their son.
The role of the first husband was well done by Anthony San and the role of first son of first marriage
was well performed by Willie and that of a kind hearted priest by Peter de
Kakoda. The roles played by pretty looking Cia and Iwan as young lovers was
fantastic. However, the centre of
attraction in the whole Play who gained more limelight by performing her role appropriately was beautiful Jessica
with her attractive dress code and majestic personality besides her trebulous sweet
voice. The word “ZADD” is used in figurative sense for Willie
for him to develop and grow up like a Zadd after his father’s death.
Seen above is Iwan singing his beautiful solo
Peter de Benaulim singing his solo.
Before the start of the Tiatro, the
organisers released the new book “Kallo Dhondo” of Ceasar D’Mello thru the
hands of Prince Jacob and Roseferns who showered praises on the author and
requested the attendees to purchase this book which cost Rs. 200/- This is his
7th Book earlier he wrote 6 Books.
Seen in above scene are lovely looking Cia, majestic beauty Jessica and the King of centuries Roseferns.
One well wisher from Mapusa Mr. Peter
D’Souza presented comedian John D’Silva with a Trophy in admiration of his
comedy while another Bom Samaritan presented some cash money to Baba Joshua for
his beautiful song which he rendered beautifully.
It was strange to note that some of the
artistes whose photos were indicated that they will participate were not acted.
What is this?
Well done Micahel Diniz and his entire
troupe including the Band.
