“KATRE” AND “NADDE”.
In Kuwait open and commercial sex is prohibited, so too Liquour. Hence, human’s tendency goes for something illicit because as per human nature, forbidden fruit is always tasty. Our 1st father and mother Adam and Eve were the victim of this forbidden fruit. In Kuwait amongst the expatriates single males are in greater number than the females. Many of them crave for sex but in the absence of their spouses back at home places they go for anything which is available either in a right way or wrong way. Amongst the sexually perverted community we all know who tops the list and to these people we sarcastically and mockingly call as “Katre” or “Nadde”. Any decent person is keeping a distance from them because for the sake of sex and molestation they will stoop to any ebb. They have no respect for society and no respect for females' dignity. I don’t know how they respect their mothers, daughters, sisters and wives. They are most uncultured and most indecent persons on this planet. For a woman even just to say hello to them is like disgracing her fair image if she is really having fair image.
These “Katre” and “Nadde” make themselves very active on Christmas Day, 1st January Day and Easter Day because on these days our domestics, males and females are having little longer day holidays. After attending the Konkani Masses in Kuwait City Church at 3.30 and 4.30 p.m and after meeting their relatives and other kins they move to the main shopping centre passing thru the Complex where Adidas Stores is located. In this complex some “Katre” and “Nadde” simply come there and make the whole area congested making people to walk and even to crawl very difficult. In the bargain our people coming from the Church get jammed in the packed area inside and outside the Complex. Taking advantage of this packed crowed area, some “Katre” and “Nadde” play mischief with our females who may be our mothers, sisters, daughters, wives and other relatives and when they are trapped in this crowded area, nothing can be done because you neither can move forward nor backward. The only beneficiaries of this chaotic situation are the molesters and sexually perverted rascals who got no business to be there. They first loiter near the Church area and mark the ladies of their choice and then follow them as their prey. Those who are not Catholic and Christians have no business to frequent unnecessarily near the Church. By moving around Church Area these non – Christian are not only committing a sin but bringing disgrace on their own religion. We must know to respect religious feelings of others. Even if near the Church area there are some bad elements, good elements should not associate with them.
After crossing this Adidas Complex, our people after the Mass go for shopping by crossing the road, which is opposite the General Post Office, near Salhiya Tower. The whole and the worst trouble starts near the Bus Stop next to the Pharmacy where there is a narrow lane where again another gang of “Katre” and “Nadde” wait for their chances prowling on our innocent females who again may be our mothers, wives, sisters, daughters and other relatives. They pass thru that narrow lane with good intention but rascals are waiting in the “lutt” – crowded lane - to hug, to catch, to press, to embrace, to kiss and do all sexually related nonsensical acts which is unbearable for our decent females. These female victims are mainly Christian and mostly Catholics, many of them from Goa, Mangalore and Phillipines. That area at around 4 – 6 p.m is so congested that one cannot even stand there and yet our women are taking risk to pass by that lane either knowingly or unknowingly. And when they get caught in this situation – “lutt” (congestion) they shout, scream and cry loudly for help. Last Tuesday on Christmas Day I saw with my own eyes and heard with my own ears the ugly scenes there and unbearable screaming.
To avoid this situation in future, especially on coming 1st January 2008, I feel our Church authorities in the Church must advise our females not to use the above routes to pass. Instead they should take some other route. When the “Katre” and “Nadde” act vulgar with our females it is very disturbing and humiliating not only for our women but also for their compatriots, relatives and co-religionists. The Ushers in the Church must also make a point to tell the congregation from inside and outside the Church compound to be careful. The priests in their sermons must also advise our people to be very careful.
I also request Pastors in the Evangelical Church to come forward especially Sister Lata and her congregation to advise the people accordingly, So too Bro. Vincente where there are many Goans and Mangaloreans attending their services. I have seen and experienced the Godly power in Sister Lata and Bros. Vincente to convince the people to act in right direction, of course in the name of Jesus Christ because they are also the promoters of Christ’s message. And as a matter of fact, their voice is more audible and more curative for this reason people flock there in good number on every Saturday and Wednesday. It is time for all of us to unite our efforts to safeguard not only the honour of our females but also the honour of our Christian Religion whichever denomination we may belong to but we are all followers of Christ. To follow the path of Christ one need not be the member of any particular congregation. The “Katre” and “Nadde” are not Christians but they target our Christian females only because they know they are very ignorant and innocent. Hence, it is the duty of the leaders of Christians to educate our ignorant females.
