Subject: My clarification pertaining to Fr Diogo Fernandes Parish Priest of Colva &
My interview on Prudent Media on 1st March 2010.

On 1st March 2010, I had commented on Prudent Media Channel averring that the Church in Goa is behaving like the Mafia. Subsequently the church spokesperson Rev Francisco Caldeira, denied the submission and sought proof which I hereby crave leave to provide.

I along with others have been victims of Colva Parish Priest Fr Diogo Fernandes’ fury for refusing to toe his line of crude functioning. Fr Diogo has been crude to the extent where he is using the Church & Religion to make a business of it. “A Catholic should not talk against a Priest because it will affect our religion. Leave the Priest alone & he will pay for his sins” is what our elders and ancient thinking Catholics say. But what do I do when Fr Diogo is on a looting rampage? Its not one but several issues regarding Fr Diogo that needs to be sorted out. If anyone disputes this, let there be an open scrutiny and discussion on this. I am willing to come to any part of the world to do this. As a Catholic I will not just watch. My grievances which are other peoples grievances also need to be sorted out so please read on and tell me if I am wrong…

Am I wrong if Colva Parishioners and myself ask our Arch Bishop for a sitting to discuss the numerous problems that we are facing with our Parish Priest Fr Diogo? Am I wrong when I ask for accountability of the money & gold received as donation from devotees as far as the Colva Church is concerned? Are we wrong if we ask that the Sunday Mass at the various Chapels in Colva Parish be held inspite of Fr Diogo stopping the Mass because enough money collection is not being received by him from these Chapels? All this when we arrange our own Priest. Are we wrong if we ask Fr Diogo to only function as a spiritual leader and not as a builder? A Boro Gonvlli and not a Boro Gonvdi (a good Shepard and not a builder). Are we wrong if we ask Fr Diogo not to freely and carelessly move around & enjoy his precious asset that he has brought with him from the previous Parish of Maina? Are we wrong if we oppose Fr Diogo from freely misusing Colva Church property as his own?

As a Catholic I am asking for simple basics from my Parish Priest Fr Diogo and it cannot be considered wrong if Fr Diogo gets exposed in the process. I have so far restrained myself from exposing others that are supporting Fr Diogo’s evil deeds inspite of having sufficient proof that has been brought to me & which proof is presently in my possession. It’s amazing that this material & proof has come from Roman Catholic Priests themselves who detest the way in which the affairs of the Church are being run today. I have a genuine problem, a problem called Fr Diogo Fernandes – Parish Priest of Colva. As an ambassador of God I humbly pray to you to stop the rot. Those having courage are freely and openly backing me today. Their numbers will multiply hundred folds tomorrow.

Since Rev Fr Francis Caldeira (Spokesperson of the Arch Bishop’s house) sought proof in reply to my interview to Prudent Media Channel on 1st March 2010, I wish to point out that the Church (mostly those persons in charge of the management of the affairs of the Church in Goa) and the Mafia follow similar strategy to silence their critics. The Mafia uses the gun on their opponents to enforce “Omerta” (silence) for life so that their opponents don’t ever talk again. The Bad Priests under cover & in the name of the Church, use the “Pulpit” to damn their opponents who are deprived the same forum (Pulpit) to respond & defend themselves. Hence the Church and the Mafia both have a common purpose to silence those who seek to expose their misdeeds. If I am wrong, then why doesn’t the Arch Bishop hear the grievances of the faithful? The age old notion is being imposed upon us – “Don’t oppose a Priest even if he is wrong. I understand that the number of Priests is dwindling. But let it be as our Holy Father said “let us have quality Priests and not quantity”. The decreasing number is not because there is a shortage of people wanting to be Priests. It’s simply due to the ugly way in which the whole system works where almost coronation is done of shameless. On the other hand the sincere Priests are kicked around for being sincere.

The Church in Goa is on a spree of selling immovable properties vested in the Church over the centuries. It’s estimated that the immovable properties held by the Archdiocese have been reduced by more then half post-liberation. The actual figures are difficult to obtain since the Church, as a matter of a strange policy, withholds all information. Most properties the Church owns today were bestowed upon it by donors / our ancestors to sustain it. The Church authorities were then duty bound to fulfil pre legacies mainly to celebrate masses for the intention of the dead and living of the donors. Since the Church supposedly did not comply with these conditions, some good Priests (real Priests devoted to God) made representations to the Holy Father (The Pope) complaining against the Diocesan Authorities that they have failed to fulfil the obligation (legacies) and were yet enjoying the properties. Rome directed the Arch Bishop of Goa (who is now a retired bishop) to comply. It is given to understand that till date the Arch Diocese of Goa did not submit the compliance report. Maintain silence and let the issue die out…This is the key factor.

It’s a glaring fact that even today the legacies are not fulfilled & yet the Church authorities enjoy the properties of Fabrica & Confraria. Fabrica are directly under the control of the Parish Priest and the Confraria properties are managed by the supervision of secretary of Secretariat of Confraternities, presently managed by Fr Santano Faleiro. The Church authority has gone against the intention of the donors by even selling these properties without any justification. There is gigantic revenue regularly flowing from devotees to the coffers of the Archdiocese so why sell these Church properties? This in itself is a scam of the Church land. Whenever there are objections from Catholics, the Church follows the magic policy “keep silent & let the issue die out”. If someone persists with it, then finish that person `from the Pulpit.

Timely action from alert people of Valpoi, stopped the illegal transaction masterminded by those at the bishop house and vested interested politicians to sell their Church land that was bequeathed by a Portuguese donor for the welfare of the poor people of Valpoi. The planned hotel project was subsequently sabotaged.

Two years ago, the Bishop house punished some of their priests that were involved in relationship with women. Like Fr Diogo Fernandes (Parish Priest of Colva) these Priests did not have a backing from the Bishop’s Palace. Therefore they were sent to Andaman Island as a punishment. Andaman Island is considered the Siberia of the Archdiocese. In contrast, Fr Diogo Fernandes - Parish Priest of Colva was honoured and bestowed protective cover by the Archbishop, Fr Jose Remedious and others.

Unholy & unlawful acts have been done by the gang of the Clergy against the law of the land and against the Church law under cover & in disguise as custodians of the Church. The famous case is of the people of Caranzalem who are fighting the Bishop Palace for selling the property that was gifted by “Conego Souto Maior” Conego is Canon in English. A few Priests mostly retired are appointed by the Arch Bishop to conduct special prayers and masses for the intention of the donors of these properties that were donated for the welfare of the Archdiocese. Souto Maior – is the title conferred by the Portuguese upon late Fr Francis D’Cunha who owned vast properties at Caranzalem which were mostly paddy fields and garden land. Fr Francis made a will and kept all these properties for the welfare of the poor people of Caranzalem and for the maintenance of the chapel “our lady of Rosary” which is commonly known as St Peters Chapel. The will of late Fr Francis says “Until heaven & earth do not touch, these properties shall not be sold”. By ignoring this, the Bishop’s Palace sold these properties and has denied the benefits to the people as required and willed by late Fr Francis D’Cunha. Catholics of Goodwill - Caranzalim are fighting a legal battle in the Revenue, Civil and High court since the Arch Bishop’s Palace had become deaf, dumb and blind and had refused to give them justice.

The Property bequeathed to the Archdiocese by “Conego Souto Maior” at Caranzalem which at current rates is worth a huge fortune have been sold to a construction firm “Models” at unbelievably low rates. Today we see the big complexes’ of Models Constructions. The property comprises of hundreds of survey holdings. The documents in our hands show that land conversions and construction licenses in respect of lakhs of square meters was obtained in the name of Fr Victor Rodrigues, Attorney of the Arch Diocese of Goa and Daman. The lands have later been transferred to the firm Models who have built flats and other residential units are selling at prices in excess of Rupees one lakh per square meter. The construction cost does not exceed Rs 15,000/- per square meter.

Like Politicians, some Priests are celebrating their birthdays, days of ordinations & other important days of their life by accepting / forcing people to put advertisements on local daily newspapers. A prime example is Fr Diogo Fernandes the Parish Priest of Colva (Herald dated 1st March 2010). Can a priest, leaving aside his spirituality afford this type of publicity on the news papers? Can he afford to dole out big birthday parties with imported scotch whiskeys? This is what Fr Diogo does on his birthdays and other important days of his life where his chamchas and henchmen make merry until they loose control of their senses. The bishop’s Palace some years back issued guidelines in respect to the inauguration and celebration of events in the Parishes and schools and it was directed that Politicians should not be invited as guests to preside at these functions. Has the present Archbishop revoked those guidelines? At the inauguration of the new school building of Infant Jesus at Colva on 1st March 2010, MP Francisco Sardinha boasted in his speech that Fr Diogo Fernandes (Parish Priest of Colva) was “The Shahinsha of builders”. Not Shahinsha of Priests. I need not say more. May be the new role entrusted to a Priest is to ignore proclaiming the word of Christ and function as a builder.

Invaluable properties owned by the Church have been sold for less then the price of peanut shells running into several hectares. One prime example is the property where the Taj Exotica Hotel has been built at Benaulim – Salcete Goa. This property was sold by St John the Baptist Church for a ridiculous price of Rs 2.33 (Rupees two point thirty three) per square meter. What was the need to sell this property? A Catholic cannot raise this question because it’s simply “My ship my order” as far as the Bishop’s Palace at Altinho is concerned. This property at current rates would fetch more then a thousand Crore rupees. Such an amount could have easily been invested to set up a top quality professional college or a hospital to benefit the poor. Taj Exotica is filled with Allapha, Basapa, Banerjee and Chatterjee so very negligible percentage of Goans is working at Taj Exotica.

When the Poor Catholics are struggling to have even a leaking roof over their heads, the Church properties have been sold to provide housing to the mega rich. Ironically no one knows what has been done even with the meagre sale consideration officially recorded in the Sale Deeds as no accounts are made available to the Catholics. Those who dare to question are branded as Anti-Catholics & Believers and the pulpit is used to malign them and to make their life miserable. The copies of the documents relating to the land at Caranzalem and Taj Exotica are annexed hereto.

Recently a middle aged priest has been left stranded without giving any appointment because he commented that People were talking about Fr Jose Remedios (Vicar General) being allegedly involved with a woman and that he was visiting her residence near Bambolim Shrine (fulancho kuris) every weekend. I have also received a letter from an unknown person regarding the same which I am annexing hereto. Fr Jose Remedios has been shielding Fr Diogo and not permitting any inquiry and action against Fr Diogo because his own skeletons will roll out & he himself will be scanned and cut down to size. This stranded Priest has been forced to undergo one year purification process by attending seminars at Pune. Those at Pune in disgust told this Priest who was sent for purification - “It’s not you who should come for purification but those that sent you here.

Colva Parishioners were denied even a single sitting by the Archbishop Filipe Neri Ferrao wherein they sought to discuss the issue of Fr Diogo Fernandes (Parish Priest of Colva Church) who is on a rampage of plundering in the name of Colva Church & destroying and making money of its assets. Those are the Bishop’s Palace refuse to entertain complaints against Fr Diogo. At the Bishop’s Palace we are normally intercepted by the secretary to the Arch Bishop Fr Loyola Pereira & Fr Jose Remedios who first quiz the persons wanting to meet the Arch Bishop but finally do not permit the meeting . On one such instance, Fr Jose Remedious mocked when the Colva Parishioners complained to him that Fr Diogo was freely residing & moving around with a certain female whom he brought with him to Colva from the previous Parish Maina (near Curtorim). Fr Jose Remedios blunt remark was “So what if Fr Diogo has a girlfriend or mistress? What’s your problem?”

I personally wrote to Fr Diogo two letters dated 1st November 2007 & 23rd February 2009 complaining to him about his misdeeds. Both letters were sent to almost all the Parish Priests in Goa including the Archbishop after he arrogantly said “No one can touch even a single hair of mine”. Rev Fr. Francis Caldeira has publicly said that “The Arch Bishop& those at the Bishop’s Palace do take action against erring Priests but we don’t give details or make it known to the public”. Is the Arch Diocesan of Goa & Daman a private enterprise? There’s absolutely no response from the Archbishop’s house to all our correspondence/ complaints & representation relating to Fr Diogo’s misdeeds. One such complaint against Fr Diogo was sent back to Fr Diogo himself for reasons best known to those at the Archbishop’s house. The Satan that he is, Fr Diogo immediately put his favourite ladies on the job. They then went canvassing and convincing the same signatories to sign a different complaint stating that their respective signatures were forged. The real issue in the complaint was never taken up, or discussed or an inquiry conducted. This only helped Fr Diogo to loot more freely in God’s name under cover of the Church.

Fr Diogo on the pretext of settling Mundkars in Colva Church property is in the process of selling Colva Church Property. The file is pending at the Bishop’s house. Simultaneously, Fr Diogo has un-successfully approached personnel of the land survey Department to fraudulently insert houses of fictitious persons as Mundkars so that he can sell the balance Church land with the excuse of settling Mundkars.

To camouflage his thievery, Fr Diogo has on his own given on 99 years lease a plot of land admeasuring more the 1510 sq mts belonging to Colva Church to some Nuns from Mumbai. Win sympathy and loot big time. Is it Fr Diogo’s personal property so that he can do what he wants with it? This is happening because Fr Diogo is given a free hand by the Archbishop & those at the Archbishop’s Palace. There is absolutely no justification to Fr Diogo’s deeds. We have to just watch and keep quiet. When it’s brought to the notice of the Arch Bishop & Bishop’s house, they follow “Omerta” (silence) as the Mafia do. The policy is - you sleep over it and let the issue die out. If anyone makes a noise, finish him from the Pulpit. Bottom line is clear – “Dare not oppose a Priest even when he is wrong”. This attitude does not work anymore in the civilized world. The Holy Father – The Pope is busy apologising for misdeeds of Priests world wide & is blaming Bishops for the situation going out of hand since timely action was not initiated. And here Fr Diogo is permitted to go on a looting and womanizing rampage. How much and how long can we keep quiet? Am I am criminal because I have exposed Fr Diogo?

We brought to the notice of the Archbishop that Fr Diogo has stopped Holy Mass’ at the various Chapels within Colva Parish where it’s very convenient for the very aged & old people of the respective localities to easily attend Sunday Mass. Priests are arranged by these people & the Chapel’s maintenance done by them at their cost. So what is Fr Diogo’s problem? “The money collection sent to the Colva Church from these Chapels is too little” barks Fr Diogo. What can the people do if the Sunday Mass collection is below the expectation of Fr Diogo? Is Holy Mass’ a business enterprise? At least for Fr Diogo, it is.

Miraculously we got a sitting with the Archbishop Filipe Neri Ferrao. Our respected elders voiced their grievance and concern about Fr Diogo stopping Sunday Mass at the various Chapels specially the Chapel of Our Lady of Angustia at Copelwado Sernabatim. The Archbishop tried to convince the delegation that one had to attend Sunday Mass at the Church. What do we do if we can’t conveniently make it to the Church? Archbishop had no answer. How can Fr Diogo insist that Sunday Mass be held on Saturdays and that too on a trial basis? Trials are held for something new. Until Fr Diogo stopped it, Mass at the Chapel of Our Lady of Angustia at Copelwado Sernabatim was regularly conducted for the last 99 years. The Archbishop was simply not prepared to listen. He concluded by saying “I will let you know”. The deafening silence continues 1 ½ years later and there’s no sign of the Archbishop answer. Do we have to beg with the Archbishop and Fr Diogo for mercy to conduct Sunday Mass at these village Chapels? Instead of making it easy to attend Sunday Mass, Fr Diogo are making it even more difficult. Attending Sunday Mass is our obligation since the principal prayer of a Catholic is to attend and take part in the “Holy Mass”. Everything else comes thereafter. Fr Diogo as a Priest is arrogantly depriving us this right & says “No one can touch even a hair of mine or transfer me until Fr Victor Rodrigues (treasurer of Archdiocese) has a major say in the transfers of Priests”. So am I wrong if I expose Fr Diogo Fernandes the Parish Priest of Colva for stopping Sunday Mass?

Fr Diogo on a regular basis has even changed prominent feast days at these Chapels so that people are forced to go to Church on those days so that in a festive mood the money collection can swell. This has resulted in people not going for Mass altogether. The Old have retired from public life. Fr Diogo has now forcefully got them retired from attending Holy Mass on Sundays and prominent feast days. Is this promoting devotion to God or Satan? Am I wrong if I point out this wrong doing of Fr Diogo?

The Arch Bishop’s house treats us like criminals if and when we ask for a sitting with the Arch Bishop. I wish to inform you that I have easily got a sitting with the Indian Prime Minister. Now with my various contacts, I am almost in the process of getting a sitting with the Holy Father “Pope Benedict XVI” along with an interpreter. The day is not far when the Holy Father will have to apologise for the unholy Deeds of Fr Diogo and his type.

It is said that “There’s honour among thieves wherein a thief leaves something behind for the owner”. This thief wants to take everything away with him that belongs to the Colva Church. Fr Diogo’s henchmen say “Fr Diogo has built this and that. He will not take away with him what he has built, like the new Colva Church School”. Very true that Fr Diogo will not take it away with him but has the whole process been done cleanly? Has income and expenditure been shown? Is Fr Diogo a Priest or a builder? What is the prime function of a Priest? Is it to put building after building wherever he goes or to promote devotion to God? He uses very arrogant and denouncing language while on the Alter to malign those who oppose his evil deeds and his way of life. Fr Diogo is not a Priest of God. He is Satan in the form of a Priest who has entered the Church to destroy it from within. Does he worship Jesus Christ or someone else is a big question and that question needs to be answered by you.

On our traditional Fama Day, Fr Diogo was begging at the open “Holy Mass” held every hour. Fr Diogo was pleading “Please donate generously for our school. The money that you are giving inside is going to the coffers of the Confraria”. Incidentally the Confraria is also a Church body whose accounts are clear till date whereas Fr Diogo has never ever given any accounts pertaining to the Colva Church. Those at the Arch Bishop’s house are a living testimony to this fraud.

With no one to turn to with our grievance, I was forced to make an audio and video CD depicting some of the incidents. In my music CD “Dogui Bodmas” there is nothing against any religion or its scriptures. It’s against a bad Priest Fr Diogo who is taking everyone for a ride in the name of God and the Church. This bad Priest Fr Diogo even moves freely around with his girlfriend and other women and performs un-Priestly activities. His arrogance is multiplied because the Bishop and those at the Bishops palace support whatever he does.

The audio CD was released on 23rd December 2009. After the release of the audio CD “Dogui Bodmas”, this is what happened:-

1. Fr Diogo publicly announced in Church that the incidents depicted in the music CD Dogui Bodmas resemble his life. He did not deny the accusations made in the CD. He admitted that the songs are mirror depiction of his life style. He used the age old notion - “A Catholic cannot oppose a Priest”. Fr Diogo then black mailed some Parishioners that he was stopping all Church service & was going away by locking the Church since the Arch Bishop has permitted him to do so. Church bells were liberally peeled mid afternoon on 28th December 2009 to gather a substantial crowd who were further instigated and infuriated at a public meeting at the Church square. Here as pre planned Fr Diogo’s cronies & henchmen did the needful by instigating the gathered crowd to march to my house to destroy it.

2. The crowd marched to my house after lodging a formality Police complaint and we all know what happened thereafter. Dishonourable ladies like Joanna Serrao and Clara Mascarnhas who give Holy Communion & Parish Council members (ladies) stoned my house. I have video footage of this. All this was done when my 78 years old father, 76 years old mother, 84 years old deaf uncle along with my wife and 3 years old child were inside the house.

3. After breaking my house, the crowd went back to the Church Square where the most Unholy Fr Diogo Fernandes – Parish Priest of Colva Church was waving out to them the way Sadam Hussain used to. Fr Diogo waving out to the crowds was as an appreciation for a job well done. The job of destroying Calvert’s house because Calvert showed courage to expose Fr Diogo’s evil Deeds.

4. Upon the instigating of Fr Diogo in connivance with the local MLA & dishonourable Police Inspector Edwin Colasso, the Colva Village was held at ransom by shutting down all Village activities. This is done just because Fr Diogo’s wrong doings are highlighted in the music CD “Dogui Bodmas”. Their wings were clipped when Edwin Colasso (PI Colva) was over night shunted out to Reserve Police Force.

5. Fr Diogo then instigated the villagers to hold morchas to the District & Sessions Court, Margao to blackmail the judge. Six prominent Priests boasted over alcoholic drinks that they had fixed the concerned Judge not to give me bail. Everyone is not as dishonourable as Fr Diogo and they had to all suck their thumb after the bail was granted.

6. During this turmoil, the Arch Bishop Rev Filipe Neri Ferrao visited Fr Diogo Fernandes from the rear of Colva Church (from the Post Office side). This act of the Arch Bishop leads the mind to think what we don’t want to. Fr Diogo getting exposed probably exposes many others in a different way. The Arch Bishop is normally welcomed to a Parish by peeling Church bells, bursting crackers and the traditional “Foznem”. Here for some strange reason the Arch Bishop makes a rear entry.

7. Fr Diogo even interfered in local Politics. In an attempt to disqualify me as a Panch Member of Colva Panchayat, on 3rd February 2010, Fr Diogo frantically telephoned Parishioners and others to come for the Panchayat body meeting to physically stop me from attending it. On the day of the meeting – 4th February, 2010, on seeing that there was no response, Fr Diogo made some villagers ring the Church bells to gather crowds who where then suppose to prevent me from attending the Panchayat body meeting which would disqualify me as a Panch member. Fr Diogo personally supervised the operation of ringing of Colva Church bells from 30 meters distance which of course Fr Diogo denied. In a pre determined move, Fr Diogo even kept an open day for parents of the Infant Jesus High School so as to soar the numbers who could then be instigated to carry out the evil designs of Fr Diogo.

8. It’s only when there was immense pressure from the Catholic community at large that Fr Diogo was made to issue a press & that too he lied that he was not aware as to who rang the Church bells & that it was done without his permission. I have living eye witnesses who will come anywhere anytime to vouch that it is at the behest of Fr Diogo that the Church bells were peeled and also previously. If the Church bells were peeled without his permission why didn’t Fr Diogo file a Police complaint? Fr Diogo even allowed people access to the 1st floor of the old school building to enable them to easily throw stones & eggs on my supporters & myself. The dishonourable Fr Diogo Fernandes - the Parish Priest of Colva tried everything within his means to prevent me from attending the Panchayat body meeting. Fr Diogo was then heard bitterly complaining that he called up even the high and mighty (including Chief Minister) to withdraw the 150 odd Police force that came to help me attend the meeting.

9. The Colva Church gets heaps of gold from devotees that receive favours from Infant Jesus. During Fr Diogo’s tenure as Parish Priest of Colva, not a single gold ornament is shown on record as having been received. Is it a miracle of disasters? I can bring along half a dozen persons that have donated gold to Colva Church during the tenure of Fr Diogo. To whom was the gold given? To Fr Diogo himself who obviously pocketed it. So am I wrong in asking for accountability? Is it my fault if asking for accountability exposes the shameful acts of Fr Diogo Fernandes the Parish Priest of Colva?

With the help of the Arch Bishop and those at the Bishop’s Palace, Fr Diogo forcibly constructed the new school building. In spite of having received numerous complaints, Fr Diogo’s unholy way of begging and collecting funds in the name of the new school building goes unchecked. Mostly no receipts are issued. Donations are collected indefinitely, not accounted for and long after the inauguration of the School building. Even the teachers of Infant Jesus School have been terrorized by Fr Diogo to donate money from their salary & to beg for donations. Even the school children were made to sweat it out to go from house to house several times and on Fama day to collect money selling various types of lotteries. Finally this effort was put up in smoke by bursting fire crackers worth more then an estimated Rs 50,000/-. A one page advertisement worth more then a lakh rupees was also put. From the advertisement it appeared that Fr Diogo was going to contest the next Assembly elections. The list of all donors is not made public. Only bits and pieces are printed on the Church magazine and announced. Whatever is collected abroad is also not revealed. Total expenditure is not disclosed. No legitimate audit is done. One cannot rule out the possibility of Fr Diogo maintaining triplicate receipt books. That he is maintaining duplicate receipt books is certain. I run out of vocabulary to explain the thieving ways of Fr Diogo Fernandes the Parish Priest of Colva. Even after all this, Fr Diogo is right and I am wrong for opposing & exposing him.

There is hue and cry about Fr Diogo’s womanizing and his extreme fondness for a certain female for whom he has even built a house at Rachol near the Rachol Seminary. I am not saying this. Fr Gualberto of Maina Church explains it beautifully in a few words on his statement to the Industrial Tribunal & Labour Court – Fr Diogo used Francisca Costa for his personal needs including cooking. Fr Diogo was instrumental in constructing a house for this lady Francisca and went to the extent of personally curing the cement of the house with water. Fr Diogo housed Francisca and her family at the parochial house of Maina Church. After being transferred to Colva Church, he kept and used her for his personal needs at his flat at Aquem Margao. Fr Diogo then housed her at Mrs Tulia Carvalho’s house at Colva”.

Whenever Fr Diogo goes to this house at Rachol, the children of the locality call him “Uncle Uncle” because he never wears a cross. Infuriated with Fr Gualberto’s response, Fr Diogo even sent the Arch Bishop & Fr Gualbert a legal notice wherein he has claimed damages of Rupees ten lakhs for defaming his good name. Well, that’s only if he had a good name. This explains for itself and I need not say more. This happened after Fr Diogo filed a case on behalf of this particular lady Francisca Costa against the Parish Priest of Maina Fr Gualberto after he refused to regularize her services at Maina Church. Incidentally Fr Diogo was Parish Priest of Maina before coming to Colva. Fr Gualberto further alleges that Fr Diogo fabricated Church records to help Francisca Costa in the case against Maina Church. Fr Diogo is fighting for his lady Francisca Costa against the Maina Parish. Now who is fighting the Church? Fr Diogo or myself?

A month ago, I have personally seen Fr Diogo sitting cosily with the same Francisca Costa at a lonely restaurant at Margao called “Milan” located on old station road. In nervousness upon seeing me, Fr Diogo swallowed a “batata wada” that he was eating & his eyes popped out. However I wish to point out that Fr Diogo’s loyalty does not lie only with Francisca Costa. Fr Diogo sucks and absorbs much more since he thirsts for variety. How will a tiger spare a goat tied inside his cage? It’s matter of time that the tiger will pounce on & eat the goat. So is the case with Fr Diogo and ladies.

The Arch Bishop has come in support of the same Fr Diogo in the most unholy manner without conducting an inquiry into the accusations on the CD. According to those at the Arch Bishop’s House & Fr Diogo, no one is entitled to point out the wrong doing of a Priest just because he is a Priest. I am considered a sinner because I have exposed the scoundrel - Fr Diogo. Whereas Fr Diogo is portrayed as a martyr & saint inspite of his scandals glaring at everyone’s face. Fr Francisco Caldeira (Spokesperson of the Arch Bishop) rubbed salt into the wounds when he issued a press statement wherein he stated – “The Church has forgiven the producer of the CD Dogui Bodmas”. Forgiveness is given to a person who does wrong & not to the person exposing the wrong.

The Arch Bishop went below unbelievable levels by sending his letter (Gonvllik chitt) in support of Fr Diogo to be read in several Churches neighbouring Colva Parish. This Gonvllik chitt in support of Fr Diogo sympathises with Fr Diogo’s unholy deeds made holy in the said letter which says “the Colva parish priest, Fr Diogo Fernandes, who “had to suffer a great deal because of the above mentioned CD: we extend to him our heartfelt solidarity,” the letter commends his self-restraint and his appeal to his parishioners to exercise the same, even in the face of the defamation he was being subjected to”. Fr Diogo gathered people by instigating them to peel Church bells. He further instigated them to damage my house and have a village Bandh and much more. Inspite of this, without an inquiry being conducted, the Arch Bishop blindly supported & still supports Fr Diogo by paying him a condolence visit from the back door of the Colva Church. Has there been an inquiry conducted if the contents of the CD Dogui Bodmas are correct or wrong? No!! Instead, people are only instigated against me by misleading them that I have gone against religion when I have only exposing a bad Priest. The Archbishop is greatly concerned that Fr Diogo has suffered after being exposed for his unholy deeds. Is it wrong to call a thief a thief and a Romeo a Romeo? If so many changes need to be made to the Bible to facilitate Fr Diogo’s lifestyle.

Instead of setting the rot right, those at the Bishop’s house dictate terms from Altinho Panjim namely those down the hierarchy of the Archbishop namely Fr Jose Remedious & Fr Caitan Loyola Pereira (secretary to Bishop) and others. Era of great dictators like Hitler and Sadam Hussein has long been over but we have bigger dictators who are supporting Fr Diogo Fernandes the Parish Priest of Colva. Today’s literate society refuses to tolerate day- light robbery and things will go out of hand if Fr Diogo’s unholy activity is not checked. Fr Diogo has divided Catholics against each other and Good Priests are feeling hopeless because Fr Diogo and his type are given a free run. The number of Priests who have personally come to greet me upon exposing a nasty bad Priest Fr Diogo though my music CD “Dogui Bodmas” & encouraged me to further refine my movie “Dogui Bodmas” is unbelievable.

God has so far gifted me with a sound mind, a perfect eye sight and a very good sense of judgement. So I may well use it productively to eliminate the Satan Fr Diogo and others that connive with him to loot in Gods name and are a plague to our society.

It is better if Fr Diogo is permitted to contest elections and marry. The Church fights against Government policies to give democratic right for citizens. How can they themselves be dictators? This dictatorship coming from within the Bishop’s palace will ultimately lead to the ruin of the Roman Catholic Church in Goa.

When exposed, Fr Diogo pushes his chamchas to protect him. One such shameless and dishonourable person is the moderator of Colva Parish Council Jason Andrade who is an abettor of Fr Diogo’s cheating. Jason Andrade defends Fr Diogo whenever exposed. Along with Fr Diogo, Jason Andrade instigated people to damage my house on 28th December 2009. The reason that the dishonourable Jason Andrade gave for damaging my house was that my supporters and friends were armed with weapons when the mob reached my house. What business did Jason Andrade and the mob have to go to my house is the question. The Video footage in my possession clearly shows that Jason Andrade is lying. Now Jason Andrade keeps announcing Fr Diogo’s new scheme of making money during “Holy Mass”. Jason Andrade barks “The Church roof has been opened so go and have a look. Anyone is free to go and see. Money to the extent of nine lakhs rupees is required”. How low can one get? Is Parish Council permitted to do the maintenance of the Church?

Names for the new Fabrica Committee have been proposed. It’s said that birds of the same feathers flock together. Fr Diogo has proposed the name of one Salvador Fernandes alias Salu Chapot post of the Attorney of Fabrica. Salu Chapot has had a record of cheating since he was a child. In the 1970’s he took money to promote students of Infant Jesus High School, Colva that had failed their exams. Salu Chapot forged the report cards of more then ten students and promoted them. On being caught, he was put behind bars. Cheating is Salu Chapot’s day to day life style & profession. He has not even spared his brother Antonio whom he dispossesed of his share of Mundkarial house and running bakery. Like most conmen, Salu Chapot has a slippery tongue that he uses to cheat people. Salu Chapot does property brokerage. The mode of operating is – he points out to some property that is neither his nor is he assigned or permitted to sell. He then shows the property and takes advance from the prospective buyers by giving them a smooth talk. His victims are numerous & can be paraded within a short notice and Salu Chapot put prominently in the “Gallery of Crooks”. Salu Chapot has even cheated Priests. Fr Wolfongo D’Silva (a retired Priest from Benaulim) is a prominent victim of Salu Chapot. Salu Chapot mortgaged gold ornaments with Fr Wolfongo who discovered later that all the ornaments were fake. And now Fr Diogo Fernandes the Parish Priest of Colva is proposing to install Salu Chapot (Salvador Fernandes) as the Attorney of Colva Fabrica. This is a real sad state of affairs.

I am in the process of collecting more documentary evidence to further back up my contention raised in my interview with Prudent Media that the Church functions like Mafia. I may add herein that I am a Catholic deeply concerned with the manner in which the Church assets are fretted away to personally benefit some priests and their families. I shall continue with my crusade against those who in the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ are seeking to hijack the Church and its authority to make a profession and not vocation of holy Priesthood. I am forced to do this because there is neither an inquiry nor any action being initiated against Fr Diogo Fernandes the Parish Priest of Colva.

I hope my sincere efforts along with many others to help the Church help some of its Priests to maintain the purity of their vocation shall enlighten the mind of the Persons in charge of managements of affairs of the Church in Goa. I appeal to you to initiate prompt appropriate action against those erring with the principal example being Fr Diogo Fernandes the Parish Priest of Colva Church. Failing to do so may finally force the Holy Father Pope Benedict XIV to apologise for the failure on part of the Archdiocese of Goa & Daman for not initiating timely action against Fr Diogo Fernandes and those like him.

The Principal functions of a Catholic Priest are to enhance spirituality and devotion to God and not to construct building after building? It’s understandable when a Priest sets up a Church or a School in a non Catholic populated zone to promote Christianity. But how do you explain Fr Diogo’s ugly functioning in the guise of a Priest? Fr Diogo is not only discouraging Christianity but is making our Church assets disappear. Fr Diogo is like a Police officer who is desperately holding on to his lucrative posting at Colva. If the Archbishop of Goa ignores this appeal, like minded people like me will go to the ultimate limits to get justice and see that Fr Diogo does not loot in God’s name and continue his unholy deeds. I along with like minded people and numerous Good Priests suggest that Fr Diogo Fernandes the Parish Priest of Colva Church be taken to the Bishop’s house and kept as a show pie

As per the latest information, the alleged “dupatta” killer Mahanand Naik in Goa is again acquitted of the third murder case. It is now yet again proved that how faulty investigation the Goa Police has conducted. It is a shame on Goa Police. Those policemen who conducted the investigation on this crime should commit suicide. The chief of Goa Police must resign and Home Minister Ravi Naik not only resign from Home Ministry but also resign from the Assembly. He is unfit to hold charge of responsible post like Home Ministry. Social activists must put pressure on Ravi Naik to submit his resignation. His silence on this issue is not good and he as a responsible person holding responsible Home Ministry cannot remain silent either.

When this is the magnitude of the goof of Goa Police in conducting investigation then how can we trust Goa Police in other investigations? Good that there are other criminal cases pending against Mahanand Naik otherwise he would have been a free man by now inhaling free air from all around. God alone knows how many innocent people were wrongly castigated by Goa Police in the past and because of this type of faulty investigation so many innocent people must be languishing in the prisons in Goa. Why this has happened? Is it because the investigating Policemen are unqualified and unprofessional? Or are they from Kindergarten level? Or were they drunk while doing the investigation? It is a very serious matter Goans should now ponder over. Citizens and others have now totally lost their faith in Goa Police because Goa Police and Home Ministry lost all their credibility. Just like faithfuls lost their confidence in priests for being child sex abusers and womanisers in the same manner people in Goa lost their confidence in Goa Police. Both P’s (Priests and Policemen) lost their credibility in the eyes of people. Something basically is wrong with both these segments and pillars of society. Otherwise both are very important segments of society for the benefit and safeguarding of the interest of society. Ironically, both the segments deslike pointing out their defects and if one tries to pin point their defects they get annoyed and turn arrogant. They expect people to accept their misdeeds silently without questioning them. Both the segments are supported by the people; Police by taxpayers money and Priests by the doles of the faithfuls in different forms.
