DEMONSTRATION TO GET
JUSTICE.
Under the banner of NGO
“HUMAN RIGHTS DEFENDERS” headed by
Advino Fernandes, today held a demonstration in front of Ferryboat Jetty in Betim at
4.30 PM, attended by about 100 people, members and well wishers, males and
females coming from distant places such a Sanquelim, Valpoi, Vasco etc. The
demonstration was for demanding justice to Nerul resident Pradip Dabolcar who
is denied license by the government for Water Sport business for not paying heavy bribe to one local
agency which deals between the government and Dabolcar.
According to my information, government machinery accepts the
application routed only thru that local agency that is entrusted with the task
of greasing the palms of government machinery.
The second demand is to
shift the Casino “Deltin Royale” from the Betim side that hampers the fishing
facilities of the locals there. The catch of fish from Betim side is diminished
because of the loud sound of the generators of Casino and also because of the
bright lights coming from the same Casino.
To put into order the scam
created in Beach cleaning contract, the scam consists of crores of rupees.
Among those who spoke
on the issues were Advino, Dabolcar and Prakash from Pilerne and they have warned the government of dire
consequences if what they asked is not fulfilled.
