GOAN IMAGE IS SOILED IN KUWAIT.

A few years back in Dubai, for the soccer final of one Goan organised tournament, there was some confusion because of referee’s mistake. One of the Goan finalist teams protested and refused to cooperate to complete the remainder of the match unless referee’s decision was reversed. There was total chaos on the field. The Chief Guest of the final one of the top Indian Diplomats based in UAE even condescended and pleaded with the protesting Goan team to cooperate but the protesting team refused. It was considered a big insult to the Indian diplomat and in reality it was so. Since then, I believe from my source that Indian Diplomat based in UAE refuse to come for any soccer activities organised by Goans. This means, according to my information, Indian Embassy put Goan soccer under its black list.

Since last year there is a dispute going on in Indian Soccer activities in Kuwait. Till last year our soccer activities were conducted under the apex soccer body known as Kuwait Indian Football Federation (KIFF) which was initiated by Goans and majority of those involved in KIFF are Goans only. In other words KIFF is overwhelmingly manned by Goans. Because of big number of Goans involved in KIFF soccer, it is called as Goan soccer only though other Bhararis from other parts of Bharat residing in Kuwait are also part of this KIFF soccer.

Last year due to some minor differences which could have been easily sorted out if KIFF management was really interested in maintaining unity, volcanic eruption took place and Indian Football Federation (IFF) was born. Those teams could not agree with KIFF dictates joined with IFF and successfully organised their schedule. However, this year saner counsel prevailed and IFF members agreed to rejoin the parent body KIFF by closing IFF, in order to bring about Unity amongst us once again. There is a strong consensus among majority of Goans in Kuwait for the Unity step taken by IFF. Everybody wants to forget the past and bury it once and for all and join the unity move. Taking this view into consideration, some Unity lover Goans from IFF went to Indian Ambassador who without any hesitation gave his green signal for this unity move personally instructing KIFF to take back all the IFF members without any precondition. This proposal Indian Ambassador gave in order to bring about Unity amongst all who are involved in our soccer. It was a big step on the part of Indian Ambassador to condescend and take up this issue when His Excellency is preoccupied in his job handling bigger issues. It was very nice on the part of Indian Ambassador to intervene in this matter to create a peaceful atmosphere amongst us, mainly amongst Goans.

Our soccer under KIFF is like ‘Buddkulleancho Khell’ unrecognised by any Kuwaiti Official authority. It is big only for small minded people involved in it mainly the organisers who were nowhere back at home before coming to Kuwait. They think KIFF is bigger than FIFA. Finally, KIFF refused to oblige Indian Ambassador thereby showing its arrogance to the highest Indian authority based in Kuwait to help Indians. By rejecting Indian Ambassador’s appeal for reconciliation peacefully without any precondition KIFF manned by Goans in greater number put Goan community into very embarrassing position thereby giving a very stubborn and arrogant image of Goans. Frankly speaking Goan community is very accommodating but Goans in KIFF are just the opposite because they like negativism. None of the Goans involved in the KIFF has done anything extraordinary for the cause of community. None of them was involved in promoting the great Goan movements initiated by Kuwait Goans. If they had little sense and wisdom, they would have averted its break up last year itself even by undergoing some sacrifices. Managing an organisation successfully is not a joke, it requires sacrifices and give and take attitude to accommodate the opponents' viewpoints for the ultimate goal for success.

Successful management is based not only on professionalism but also on tactful skills on the part of its managers and leaders to overcome all the hurdles tactfully without creating any rift, if necessary even by surrendering some of its rights and previlleges. Then only success comes. Now since last year there is no success in KIFF, only failure because of its split. For this failure only the KIFF management is responsible because they failed to rise to the occasion. KIFF brought into existence to unite all and not to disunite and to maintain Unity of all. KIFF management should have done everything under its control to avoid split. Disunity in KIFF and formation of IFF is the greatest failure of KIFF of 2009-10-11 seasons for which all KIFF members should put their heads down in shame. In the history of Kuwait Goans in particular and Indians in general, the worst, the most arrogant, the most destructive and most anti-Goan and anti-Indian managing committee of KIFF is of 2009 – 10 -11 because it failed to stop division in its fold.

Those who are running the KIFF show are acting like unsocial elements. They have no respect for Indian Ambassador even. Are these people from society or from herd? What is their gains by closing all the doors of reconciliation for Unity? In this dispute, the major victims are Goans. The good image of Goans is destroyed beyond repairs by the Goans involved in KIFF. They should be held responsible for damaging our image in Kuwait. They may think they have done the right thing but history will judge them differently. For me KIFF is a big joke because it has history of manning it by people of dubious character such as Robbers, Drunkards, those underwent imprisonment in Kuwaiti prisons and crooks.

AVC Kuwait shortly will organise soccer tournament in Dubai. Its members must call a meeting of Goans in Dubai and tell openly who are the Goans in Kuwait working against Goan unity. If possible, Goans in IFF must join together and issue a Press Release to Goan Dailies exposing the arrogance of KIFF Goans. Let every Goan know what type of arrogant Goans are in Kuwait who does not even care for Indian Ambassador and on top of it they call themselves Indians holding Indian Passports.

Navelim Footballer Marshall dies in Cayman Islands

Navelim Footballer Marshall dies in Cayman Islands

By Gasper Crasto / Kuwait for www.goa-world.com/

Kuwait: Marshall Coutinho, ex-footballer of Mormugao Port Trust (MPT) and Navelim Sporting, died in the Cayman Islands on 30th August 2010.

According to information received from friends, the ever enthusiastic Marshall was on his morning jog with a friend when he suffered a cardiac arrest.

Marshall leaves behind his beloved wife Zeeta and two lovely daughters Haylee and Lynsey.

Son of Feliciano and Rosalina from Telaulim-Navelim, Marshall was a well-known footballer in Navelim right from the early 90s when he started playing for UCT–Telaulim, and Navelim Sporting. He played as a striker for MPT for several years and was a bright prospect before injuries forced him to leave the sport and head for Cayman Islands.

Besides being a good player, Marshall was known to be very humble and a friendly person among the Goan football fraternity.  A dynamic personality involved in all kinds of activities on the football field and in the church, he was also a member of the All Goa award winning choir - Serenaders of Telaulim.

Efforts are being made for the mortal remains to be flown to Goa. Funeral date will be announced in due course.

Goan footballers in Kuwait join fellow friends around the world in conveying heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family of beloved Marshall Coutinho and pray that God may strengthen them to bear the sad loss.

MY INTERACTION WITH RAVINDRA KELEKAR.

The Late Ravindra Kelekar.

The sad news of the death of Ravindra Kelekar last week was received with shock. A great lover of Konkani he fought vigorously for its cause. His involvement in Konkani agitation movement in eighties was a great support for the agitationists. A highly literate man with majestic physique his writings were of very high quality.

I first time came in contact with him about 25 years back at his majestic Priol House. It was Gurunath Kelekar who took me to his house on one fine afternoon. Gurunath Kelekar was editing his Weekly “Goycho Mog” and I was from Kuwait contributing regularly for it. Ravindra Kelekar was reading my articles with deep interest and when he showed his interest in meeting me and discussing some interesting points on Konkani movement, Gurunath Kelekar during my vacation at that time took me to his place. Earlier I heard of him a lot and read some of his writings written in Romi Konkani but never met him personally.
When I met him first time and when he shook his hand with me, I had electrifying effect on me. I felt elevated to know that such a mighty figure is so deeply impressed by the writings and activities of such a small figure from Kuwait in support of Konkani.

He started with complimenting me in the presence of Gurunath Kelekar saying ‘what you express now from Kuwait, I was expressing some years back when I was of your youthful age’. Then he went a step further and said ‘Veronica, you are like a spokesman of Kuwait Goans, Gulf Goans and expatriate Goans. I am very proud of you because you are fighting for the cause of Konkani’.

After a gap of some years again I met him at Panjim during the Konkani agitation meetings at Azad Maidan and in the rallies we used to organise under Konkani Porjecho Avaz. When he came to know that I also joined in the Hunger Strike along with Eng. Datta Naik, Prof. Dilip Borker and Dioniz Diniz in support of Konkani, he was overwhelmed with my action and personally came and patted me saying ‘you are really a man of guts’.

He admired Kuwait Goans contribution for the cause of Konkani and while financially supporting Konkani movement in Goa, he told me to take care of our personal and family needs financially and otherwise as well. He had strong conviction that Konkani will attain success and this success came while he was alive only for him to enjoy it. He appreciated Kuwait Goans for establishing Kuwait Konknni Kendr – Kuwait.

His love for Konkani was infinite but his bias against Romi Konkani was a big slap on Konkani lovers and Konkani promoters like me. Somehow or the other, Nagri Konknnivadis like Ravindra Kelekar never supported Romi Konkani. Including Ravindra Kelekar, Nagri Konknnivadis downgraded Romivadis but accepted Romivadis’ support for the cause of Konkani voluntarily. Nagrivadis including Ravindra Kelekar created a sort of apartheid in Konkani by treating Romivadis as second class Konknnivadis.

As a freedom fighter he worked for the cause of Goa but once at his place when I asked him ‘dont you regret to see such a miserable state of liberated Goa?, he answered, it is very sad. Then I asked him ‘did you involve in Goa’s freedom movement to dole Goa on silver platter to the Delhi Babus and Goan ‘Chor’ politicians, he had no answer.

Never to talk ill of dead goes the Roman proverb. Let me talk good of this great Konkani stalwart and pray for eternal rest for his soul. May God Bless you Ravindra Kelekar. In your death Konkani lost a great personality and Goa lost a great Goan. Such a man comes in our midst only once in centuries.

NISHA PEREIRA AGAIN ON CANSAULIM 'CHOR'

Nisha Pereira has left a new comment on your post "NISHA PEREIRA ON 'CANSAULIM UNDER SEIZE'":

The political pressure as well as direct intervention from MLA Mauvin Godinho in the Gonsalves-Dias Gates Project at Cansaulim is shocking and is a direct misuse of Government Machinery. The Minister's PA Ligorio Monteiro is directly involved in contacting Cansaulim villagers who are opposing the Project with all sorts of give-aways to quieten the opposition to the Project.

Aboobakr Shaikh and cousin Aggie Alcacoas of Queeny Realty Estate can have their way with Cansaulim village and make it a concrete jungle . if you look at the Queeny Nagar area developed by the Minister's cousin Aggie Alcacoas at the Birla stretch you'll know hat I'm talking about - it doesn't matter if Cansaulim's name is changed to Aboobakr Nagar to honour the new Shah-en-shah of Cansaulim village like the Mughal Emperors of yore or is Aggie-Queeny Ganv? After all if a Rathod is Sarpanch of Sancoale, can Cansaulim be left far behind – so much for vote banks, scam bags and slum dens they make a nice cocktail when you have this all thrown together to create your vote-banks.

After all the Minister has already asked for 100 lakhs square metres of precious Goan land to clean up the garbage from 6 villages in his Constituency! Once the land is acquired and sanctioned you can always give that to cousin Aggie and Aboobakr for development and beautifying purposes. The High Court has said that the Panchayats should not be granting licences for construction of mega-projects without providing infrastructure for garbage facilities - so with one blow the clever Minister has taken care of that issue too!

Incidentally the Minister is now in the process of constructing a Hotel near Queeny Nagar as you drive down the road to Velcao built on the hill slope that is spilling onto the road!
Overnight a spanking new bridge was built next to the old culvert very close to Mauvin Godinho's maternal grand-father's house in Cansaulim ie . next to “Bar Leangracia” that his grand-father had built. Of course that new bridge would be a nice safety net to have all the bebdes not to fall in the pond and specially when you have quenched the thirst of all the goons after sending them to hammer, heckle and harass the villagers even if it has to be done in the broad daylight at the Gram Sabha or under the cover of darkness. So what - the Minister can sanction a free road for his staunch female supporter in the village overnight in the village through somebody else's property and even have it tarred and all done in record breaking time on a public Holiday literally from Maundy Thursday to Good Friday earlier this year? No marks for guessing her name!

As mentioned, litigation has been filed by the siblings duped by Stuart Gonsalves-Dias and Fr. Valmiki Gonsalves-Dias to stop the sale or development of their ancestral properties. This litigation has been filed against Aboobakr Shaikh, Aggie Alcacoas and Stuart Gonsalves-Dias & his wife Lorna and Fr Valmiki Gonsalves-Dias. Along with these crooks, they should also have named Mauvin Godinho, Sarpanch Members Martha Saldanha, Ferwin Saldanha and that chicken-hearted Sarpanch Jose Manuel Fernandes for directly abetting in this crime. Mauvin Godinho fully knowing what his cousin Aggie Alocacoas and Aboobakr Shaikh were up to chose to support them in their nefarious schemes and literally gave the villagers an ultimatum not to interfere in Aboobakr’s development of Cansaulim village!

Power corrupts absolutely whether it is a corrupt Minister Mauvin Godinho or a Sarpanch like Jose Manuel Fernandes or the likes of devious hags like Martha Saldanha or bonkan botts like Ferwin Saldanha in the Panchayat. So what if we destroy a village like Cansaulim – who cares? We have to back our cousins Aggie Alcacoas and Aboobake Shaikh and their chamchas, goons, and supporters!

Time to get ready for the next elections ,no? Who will otherwise foot the bills for the biryani, daru and other gifts that we have to give so that we get those votes?

I wish to express my appreciation for the inspiring article on my late father, Carlos da Cruz. I also have to point out here that the third child was named after Nehru's mother, Swarup and the fourth after Lenin. I the sixth child have been named "Indio", which according to Portuguese grammar, is the masculine of "India".

A. Veronica Fernandes made a mistake.

LUIS INDIO DA CRUZ has left a new comment on your post "A.VERONICA ON VALMIKI FALEIRO'S ARTICLE.":

ON SHAMELESS KUWAIT GOANS. By Xavier Furtado.

From: Xavier Furtado.

This is reply to the article written by Mr. Cosme Fernandes.

Mr. Cosme I agree with you that we Goykars are become shameless and thick skinned. We want name and publicity and to do that we would go to any extent. But what do our deeds say? Nothing. What have done to our fellow Goan breathren. Nothing, but destroy our Goans who come up in life the legitimate way. I do not think in any part of the planet earth there is such class of Goans which exists in Kuwait.

Well, coming to KIFF it has become a joke to everyone. Those belonging to KIFF think that there is no one compared to them in Kuwait. But hey, just think of what they were when they first came to Kuwait. Mr. Veronica has their full resume and have exposed some of them on this forum. The so called Presidents of Goan clubs in Kuwait, ooppss. I better not expose the truth about them openly for fear of losing their personal existence in Kuwait. Goans in KIFF, be aware of the wrath awaiting you here in Kuwait and if by chance you miss it over here, then Goa awaits you. Goa does not want more traitors on its soil. You can have as much fun as possible here in Kuwait, but do not disturb the sanctity of this beautiful place which has give you a lifeline to exists.

Remember one thing that The Almighty God is not sleeping, but watching your actions very carefully. He is giving you all a chance to cleanse yourself from all the filth. Take the chance now or face His wrath. Goans in KIFF remember that Goans in Kuwait and in Goa are awaiting you. Mr. Veronica very soon the scenario which you told me what happenned in the Ferryboat some years ago because of disturburnses in KIFF is going to be reality once again and this time the fury will be awesome. God Bless us all.

Xavier.

ALVARO DIAS - A RENOWNED GOAN FOOTBALLER BASED IN KUWAIT.

ALVARO DIAS - THE WELL KNOWN GOAN FOOTBALER.

Passion for football keeps Alvaro on the move
Published on: August 18, 2010 - 23:36
Forwarded by: Xavier Furtado - AVC - Kuwait.
·
MARGAO: During the early nineties, Alvaro Dias was considered by many pundits to be the successor for the legendary Brahmanand Shankwalkar but it was not to be.

A cruel knee ligament damage meant that the bubbling career was cut short prematurely as it was a massive disappointment and agony for Alvaro. However, the zeal and the passion for football kept Alvaro much into the game although at an amateurish level.

Alvaro who played for several leading clubs like Churchill Bros, Sesa Goa, Vasco SC and even got a call for the India camp was at the peak of his prowess before a nasty knee injury in 1995 ended his playing career. He got a job in Kuwait and remained very much a vibrant figure for the expatriates in the Gulf where football provides a relief for the home-sick Goans.

During his holidays, Alvaro witnessed many matches and the former giant-sized national goalkeeper is in awe of the progress made by his state in football and feels that the Youth Development Programme of the GFA is the best thing that has happened to football in Goa.

"Football can only get better when the base is firm. The age category tournaments here are an endowment for the youngsters. It’s a huge and enormous opportunity to get the basics at the right age. It was not possible during our days. However, with a lot of discipline and dedication, players grew up during that era. Now there’s everything in football, name, fame, wealth everything but only hard work and commitment can help you to achieve those things,"

explained Alvaro who was a deputy for the then India No. 1 Brahmanand Shankhwalkar for the Santosh trophy nationals in 1986 at Kerala.

Alvaro still plays for the AVC Club in Kuwait but only for the crunch matches as he’s focusing more on the duties of coaching the team besides he is also an active and one of the most respected referees.

There is still a long way to go but on returning back he intends to get into coaching the young kids and to be part of the development of the game. Sometimes his fanaticism for the game keeps his family on the edge as the ‘knee’ which was damaged some 15 years ago still hurts considerably, but for football Alvaro is ready to walk even through the pain.

SHAMELESS GOYKARS IN KUWAIT.

From: Cosme Fernandes.

Date: Fri, Aug 27, 2010 at 10:32 AM

Subject: SHAMELESS GOANS.

TO ALL MY GOANS IN KUWAIT Staying in Kuwait and mixing around with different communities of India in Kuwait. I feel ashamed to be called a Goenkar . The mere reason is that there is filthy politics going in every organization . First the G.W.S supposed to be an organization for the welfare of Goans in Kuwait . Who is running it a bunch of rogues who have taken an oath to eat money of poor Goans who slog to earn a living by way of member ship fees for what is this .If any individual born and brought up in Goa automatically he is a Goan .But when one goes to register in the GWS organization they need proves .

Secondly the managing committee headed by Mr. Alex Wilson Coelho (Sexologist) is a committee that wants their names or photos in newspaper for doing something cheap in Kuwait . Anybody staying in Kuwait and going through the events going on in G.W.S will tell that any press reports or photos given to the press are of the people addressing and not the crowd because they want only publicity . How can we Goans support such an organization??

Secondly in the field of sports all over the world Goans are known for football but what's happening in Kuwait is a very sad story . Our own Goan brothers are in arms against Goans why a small ego problem werein the Ambassador of India had to intervene . I think the Ambassador has never intervened in any other state organization, what a shame! Why is this happening and for what ? Can anybody clarify there are some people in the field of sports who do it for money and not in love of sports to name Manuel dcosta (ex kiff pres) , Salu (kga pres) Milton (rangers pres) and the list goes on . Can anybody stop this and bring back the football that we used to enjoy on soor grounds?

Iwas just reading your blog and was a shamed to see how K.I.F.F has put the terms and conditions . HEY K.I.F.F., WE ARE FOOTBALL LOVERS AND THESE CONDITIONS ARE ONLY AN ENCOURAGEMENT FOR NEW ORGANISATION TO START ORGANISING FOOTBALL.

THE OTHER DAY I HAD GONE TO WATCH A TOURNMENT ORGANISED BY THE KERALITES. WHAT AN UNITY AND WHAT A WAY IT WAS ORGANISED!! GREAT AND HAD TO PUT MY FACE DOWN WHEN THERE WAS TALK GOING THAT HOW GOANS ARE MAKING MONEY IN THE NAME OF FOOTBALL. THIS IS THE REASON THAT YOU SEE A GOOD UNITY OF THESE GUYS EVEN IN GOA WE FIGHT AND WHO TAKES ADVANTAGE? THE NON GOANS AND TODAY YOU FIND MORE NON GOANS THAN GOANS IN GOA, LIKE PINTOS FROM MANGALORE, VOHRAS FROM PAKISTAN PUNJAB AND TONYS & KUTTYS FROM KERALA.

SO MY HUMBLE REQUEST TO ALL GOANS TO BOYCOTT G.W.S AND K.I.F.F TO TEACH THESE A GOOD LESSON. I AM SURE DOING THIS THEY WILL REALISE THEIR MISTAKE AND TRY TO KEEP US UNITED IN EVERY WAY.

COMING BACK TO FOOTBALL I THINK WE HAVE LOT OF GOANS HOLIDING GOOD JOBS AND INFLUENCE WHEREIN WE CAN SEE THE SAME FOOTBALL AS OF SOOR GROUNDS. WAKE UP KUWAIT GOANS UNITE AND BE ONE AND LET NOT NON GOANS RULE US AS THEY DO IN GOA HOPE TO SEE A GREAT UNITED FOOTBALL SEASON THIS YEAR.

The current turmoil going on in Kuwait because of KIFF arrogance is bad for the unity of Goans. The leadership of KIFF and all the Goan KIFF members should be held responsible for any negative outcome.

NISHA PEREIRA ON 'CANSAULIM UNDER SEIZE'

Nisha Pereira has left a new comment on your post
"CANSAULIM UNDER SEIZE. NEED SUPPORT FROM ALL GOANS...":

The sorry state of affairs that we see in Cansaulim and other villages of Goa is because the builders and the Panchayat members with the backing of the Government of Goa and the Government Machinery are hell bent on pushing through these housing projects.
Corruption and kickbacks are rampant and it is obvious to all how this evil nexus works.

Take the case of the Gonsalves-Dias Gates Project in Cansaulim itself, if one follows the reports it is obvious that there has been a deriliction of duty not only on the path of the Cansaulim Panchayat but also the Town and Country Planning Department and the Directorate of Panchayats with direct intervention coming from MLA Mauvin Godinho who openly has been working to protect the interests of his cousin Aggie Alcacoas who created a very bad image of his when he was working in Kuwait. For amassing wealth he will stoop to any level. Even he did not spare GFA from where he was ejected unceremonously. Both he and Mauwin Godinho are perfect partners in crime. Cansaulimkars must tackle them vigorously with firm determination otherwise they both will sell not only Cansaumlim to non Goan builders but even the entire Goa.
Both "Soire" are shameless. I dont know how their family members and relatives keeping quiet on the harakiri they do for the sake of acquring illicit wealth.

Sarpanch Jose Manuel Fernandes has not followed on the mandate of the Gram Sabha, records have been fudged and resolutions that have been passed have not been recorded. A stop order that the Sarpanch issued to Aboobakr Shaikh (who is nothing but Aggie Alcacoas man) and then mysteriously disappeared.

Martha Saldhana a Panch member who openly and unashamedly backs Aboobakr Shaikh the builder has been pressuring the Sarpanch along with her stooges like Ferwin Saldanha (better known all over as bonkan bott) and some of the others have consciously chosen to pressurise the Sarpanch to follow their mandate instead of that of the Gram Sabha.- Show quoted text -

The High Court should order an inquiry into this whole affair in the Cansaulim Pancahayat and this sordid saga of corruption, breach of law, attack on democratic traditions and constitutional rights will be exposed.

For the 22nd August meeting the Secretary got himself admitted in hospital as he would have some answering to do.

The villagers opposing this project have been given the run-around by the Panchayat, TCP and even the Directorate of Panchayats.

Finally does anyone know where Fr. Valmiki Gonsalves-Dias is? He and his brother Stuart Gonsalves-Dias sit pretty while being responsible for the destruction that they are wrecking on Cnasaulim not just the environment but it's very social fabric. They bear the moral responsibility for all the attacks, intimidation, harassment from aboobakr Shaikh and these goons that are being meted out on the villagers of Cansaulim including that on the old, the weak, the widows, even Fr. Randall Barretto and now Dr Marconi Correia and others that were attacked at the Cansaulim Gram Sabha recently.

There is a God and He sees it all!

KONKANI SHOW BY "KONKANI KULLVAR KUWAIT.

On last Friday 20th of this month at Indian Community Senior Girls School, Salmiya, I had an opportunity to witness the Konkani function organized by our Managalorean brothers and sisters under “KONKANI KULLVAR KUWAIT” to mark the Konkani Day, that is, the day on which Konkani was accorded official recognition and introduced into the Eight Schedule of Indian Constitution. It was well attended by a good number of people, Mangaloreans and Goans. The day was fittingly dedicated to the late Konkan Kogul Wilfy Rebimbus .

The day's programe consisted besides other items, of songs, play and honouring of renowned melodious Konkani Singer Gratian D’Souza.

The programe was started with the lighting of traditional lamp. Then the convenor of Kullvar Lancy Pinto Nayak welcomed the gathering.

The first part consisted of songs in which Joylene, Jovita and others participated. The singing part gave a very good punch for the function.

The second part consisted of honouring of the renowned and melodious singer Gratian D’Souza

The third part consisted of a Play scripted by Shan Bondel and directed by Lancy Pinto Nayak. The major roles played in the Play “Shivonn” by Ida D’Silva and Bondel were of excellent caliber. Their ending part together as husband and wife was of highest degree giving a very professional touch in a real artistic manner. Ida’s dress code as commoner house wife gave genuine touch to the scene reminding me of those golden days of Konkani Stage artiste Shalini who under the direction of great J.P. Souzalin used to wear such “Kapod”. Young boy Jeremiah Vaz played his role of a naughty boy well.

The honouring ceremony of melodious singer Gratian D’Souza was beautifully done in a true tradional manner. Mr. Gratian is the singer of very high caliber having very sweet and attractive voice. Currently in Kuwait among Konkani singers there is no one having as melodious voice as he is having. He is the pride of Konkani Stage and he deserved this honour even though it came very late.

Fr. Harry a young and youthful Mangalorean priest attached to Kuwait Catholic Church rendered a nice song of course to the surprise of the audience. A very charismatic and humble priest, without pride and arrogance, Fr. Harry during his brief speech to the audience on the greatness and importance of mother tongue Konkani, in a Tagorean manner he highlighted the greatness of one’s mother tongue and thereby showed his very high literary background. When I was informed that he was a writer and author of very high caliber back at home in India, I was surprised why he is wasting his time in Kuwait where intellectual capacity of his colleagues and faithfuls is very poor. In such a situation, he will never be able to promote his intellectual work. For such intellectuals you need very good surrounding and colleagues. He will never find such around him.

A.VERONICA ON VALMIKI FALEIRO'S ARTICLE.

The Little Known Patriot. By Vakmiki Faleiro.
The above article written by Mr. Valmiki Faleiro and appeared in this forum on 25th of this month is excellent. It opens out lot of happenings during the Portuguese rule in Goa and I am sure for the generation born after 1961 this article will help to know the history of Goa.

It started with the following para:

Genuine freedom fighters never blew their own trumpets. They did not hanker after Tamrapatras and state largesse. The dubious variety that did brought a bad name to all freedom fighters (FFs). Fakes would probably outnumber the authentic ones in the state list of registered FFs. Many of the former would barely be in their early teens in 1961. One recalls the attempt to swell the already contaminated list with 'FFs' from North India earlier this decade. Yet, there were some genuine FFs who were barely even known. Some died before 1961. Let's recall one, who died at Silvassa this day precisely 52 years ago, 25 Aug 1958, 51 years of age”.

While reading the above para of the article “The Little Known Patriot”, I remember how cheap many of our Goan Freedom Fighters are become. Their lust for money and Awards totally ignores their principle of fighting for Goa’s freedom. Pension and Tamrapatra were their only motto. At moment it looks to me that they got involved in Goa’s freedom movement only to gain financial and other benefits. Their involvement in Goa’s freedom movement was to make only a show of their cheapness, for this reason they are gone into deep sleep when politicians started looting and criminalizing Goa after December 1961.

Somewhere in 1959, opposite my house in Candolim, one fine morning a Police Jeep transporting Prisoners from Aguada Jail to Panjim stopped. Then prisoners handcuffed were alighted for passing Urine somewhere there under the shadow of the trees. Portuguese Paklo with Gun in his hand was escorting these prisoners. One of the prisoners was our neighbour Sitaram by name, he was freedom fighter. When my father noticed this, he became furious and on the same night at about 8.00 PM along with our Hindu neighbor demolished the small bridge - “Sankou” – on the main road. Water passing from one side of the paddy fields to the other side was blocked and traffic on the road was halted. In this operation Portuguese Pakles’ transport and movement was seriosuly affected. There was hue and cry everywhere in our locality, top Portuguese Pakles stationed at Aguada came to check the broken Sankou but none was caught. While my father was breaking that Sankou, about 100 meters away I was kept with a lighted Lanterrn in my hand with an instruction to throw it down in case I see first Jeep of Portuguese Pakles. This is to avoid getting caught by the Pakles. But nothing of that has happened and demolition of Sankou went on very smoothly. When I asked my father why he did this, he replied saying we have to teach these Pakles a very good lesson. They have unnecessarily arrested our Sitaram and tortured him in the prison.

Later on after the exit of Portuguese from Goa and when Bandodkar was ruling Goa, every Ramu and Roghu went to Bahusaib for falsely asking them freedom fighters status for getting financial and other benefits. Somebody suggested my father’s name for this loot. But my financially poor father rejected it strongly saying “ my operation of Sankou demolition was not to get financial and other benefits but to oppose Portuguese Dadageri out of ideology”. How many of our freedom fighters involved in Goa’s freedom movement out of ideology? Many of them were “Chors” and “Krimidors”, for this reason as a whole they never enjoyed good respect in society. Very few Goa’s Freedom Fighters were good and for them I salute from Kuwait.

In another para as you indicated below, I like to comment also to justify your statement that how faulty the educational system was in Goa during those colonial days.

“Carlos Luis Martinho Nazario da Cruz, born 28 July 1907, was the eldest of 13 children from a middle-class Chandor family. He rebelled early in life. At 11,appearing for the Primary exam, together with his younger sister, he scored the highest but was denied the first rank by 'chivalrous' examiners. They gifted it to his sister, who scored second-highest in the class. Carlos is reported to have caused considerable commotion. In that early incident, perhaps, lay the seed of rebellion against fallacious Portuguese principles and morality - and the colonialists themselves”.

My elder brother at Escola Primaria for his Segundograu scored highest marks in the final exam. His Professor was having his Hindu girlfriend in the class who scored second highest marks. In order to please his student girlfriend, the Professor gifted my brothers marks to his girl friend and brought my brother to the second place. This type of nonsense was very rampant in Goan Portuguese schools then. Because of this incident my brother turned rebel against his own Professor.

Further you wrote the following in this para:

'He (Carlos) refused orders to remove portraits of Tagore, Gandhi and Nehru from his house. When asked why he had named his eldest daughter after the Rani of Jhansi, he named his next child after Nehru. When questioned again, he named the next one after Lenin!'

I still remember as a young boy in late fifties how dangerous it was to display Gandhi’s picture in our houses. My father brought a nice picture of Gandhi and put it on the wall for display and revered him as a great leader not only of Bharat but also of the World. One fine evening some Pakles from Aguada came to my house and while drinking water one of them noticed this picture and immediately told my father to remove it and burn it. They did not complain to the authorities concerned because of their friendship with my father otherwise may be my father would have been arrested for being Nationalist.

We at home were listening to Konkani programme on radio from Akaswani Bombay at 8.30 pm. At the end of this half an hour programme consisting of songs 20 minutes and 10 minutes news, the announcer used to say 'Jain Hind'. Without knowing much of this words, I also said Jai Hind but my father cautioned me not to use these words since danger lies in using them.

That was the strictness we faced in Goa during those days.

Valmiki Faleirobab, once again I congratulate you for writing beautifully on Goa’s freedom fighter Carmo. May his soul rest in peace. But I am sure, if he rises again from the grave. surely he will feel guilty for working against the Portuguese after seeing what our politicians are doing for his immaculate Goa. I am sure he will regret for driving away Portuguese from Goa. He would say 'Salazar I am sorry, your rule was better than the present rule in Goa. Your administrators were better than the current rascals'.

The Little Known Patriot. By Vakmiki Faleiro.

Let's recall one, who died at Silvassa this day precisely 52 years ago, 25 Aug1958, 51 years of age.

Carlos Luis Martinho Nazario da Cruz, born 28 July 1907, was the eldest of 13 children from a middle-class Chandor family. He rebelled early in life. At 11,appearing for the Primary exam, together with his younger sister, he scored the highest but was denied the first rank by 'chivalrous' examiners. They gifted it to his sister, who scored second-highest in the class. Carlos is reported to have caused considerable commotion. In that early incident, perhaps, lay the seed of rebellion against fallacious Portuguese principles and morality - and the colonialists themselves.

Stymied midway in as tormy secondary education at the Panjim Lyceum, he qualified as a school teacher and legal consultant but with limited powers to practice law. While yet a student, he bravely wielded his pen, contributing articles to local journals. When blacked out in a leading publication, he co-founded the 'Oriente,' the first illustrated periodical published in Goa. His first posting was to a school in remote Arambol, where colonial masters thought his voice would be muted in the rest of Goa. He started with a bang, opening the first free night school for the labour class. Arambol instantly became a pilgrim point for Goan educationists!

Governor Craveiro Lopes sent his son (later President of the Portuguese Republic) to cajole Carlos, by now a member of TB da Cunha's Goa Congress Committee. Failed diplomacy. Yet, with hope in heart, the Governor 'gifted' Carlos a transfer to Silvassa in Dadra & Nagar Haveli - a plum posting where all kinds of civil service functionaries minted fortunes, looting the native tribal 'Warlis' (Adivasis), their natural resources, and their women.

The Portuguese had committed a blunder. Carlos took charge, started a periodical 'Sandalcalo' (published from Vapi in British India), exposed corruption at all levels, and braced the tribals for a fight. He was soon dismissed from service. He stayed on, a 'Bapuji' and 'Vakilsaheb' to the Warlis, hitherto a wild tribe. He provided largely free services and often spent his own money on court fees for the poor.

Carlos was deprived of civic rights. He was repeatedly arrested and released, only tobe rearrested a while later, altogether about 12 times. He was kept in long periods of isolation, but it did not break his spirit. He refused orders to remove portraits of Tagore, Gandhi and Nehru from his house. When asked why he had named his eldest daughter after the Rani of Jhansi, he named his next child after Nehru. When questioned again, he named the next one after Lenin!

Aware that his life was in danger, he sought refuge in British India. His first act in Bombay was to address the press and denounce the repressive 'Acto Colonial.' In Bombay, he edited 'The Anglo-Lusitano.' Via a common friend, he ensured his writing reached the eyes of Salazar. Carlos dared the lion in his own lair. He then returned to Silvassa and continued the campaign against corruption.

After Dadra &Nagar Haveli was freed 02 Aug 1954, the Government of India appointed him Public Prosecutor of Nagar Haveli. A debilitating disease struck Carlos. Though he spent 30 of his 51 years in a place where most civil servants amassed much wealth, he died a pauper, this day, 52 years ago. Silvassa shut in mourning. The government accorded him a state funeral. A handful of earth from his native Chandor he had carried decades before was, per his last wish, put in his grave.

His epitaph at Silvassa reads,
Life for him, a mission
His daily lot, a martyrdom
Honours and wealth, he sought not
But for the oppressed, freedom

As we recall the memory of one little-known patriot on his death anniversary today, let us also remember other genuine freedom fighters, several of them mercifully still alive, who sacrificed much to unshackle us from a repressive colonial regime.

CANSAULIM UNDER SEIZE. NEED SUPPORT FROM ALL GOANS.

Gram sabha at Cansaulim disrupted by Aboobakr's rowdies and anti social elements; Dr Marconi Correia roughed up and manhandled It’s shocking to see how the Builders-Politicians-Government Machinery nexus are getting blatantly virulent, anti-people and openly collusive in their strategy to push their agenda through even of it means attacking our villagers openly at Gram Sabha meetings. The latest reports in newspapers of what transpired at yesterday’s Gram Sabha meeting in Cansaulim is an indication of what lengths this evil nexus will go through to push their nefarious scheming trough.

Sunday’s gram sabha of the village panchayat of Cansaulim Arrossim Cuelim was abrubtly adjourned after a mob of unruly supporters of a builder and some elected panches including Martha Saldanha disrupted the meeting by attacking and intimidating the villagers.

The brave villagers of Cansaulim who have been dealing with this evil nexus have over the last year been dealing with threats, intimidation and immense hardships as Aboobakr Shaikh has literally unleashed a reign of terror with the political patronage that he enjoys from MLA Mauvin Godinho. Mauvin Godinho’s cousin Builder Aggie Alcacoas of Queeny Realty Estate is actually the one promoting the Gonsalves-Dias Gate and the Queeny Meadows project in Cansaulim. No one is being spared includuing the old and the helpless like InacXavier Fernandes or Father Randall Barretto and now even The Gram Sabha members including Dr. Marconi Correia are being targeted openly!

How can the Government machinery, funds and backing so openly be used by Mauvin Godinho who at a meeting held earlier this year warned the villagers of Cansaulim that Aboobakr Shaikh was his friend and the villagers should not oppose the development that Abbobakr has planned for the village of Cansaulim? In order to circumvent the High Court’s recent declaration that no licences be granted for new construction without proper infrastructure for treating garbage, MLA Godinho has shamelessly demanded that 100,000 square metres of scarce land be made available to him in his Constituency to treat garbage from 6 villages including Cansaulim! It only exposes the lengths that he will go to benefit his builder friends and cousins.

The so-called builder Aboobakr Shaikh alias Babloo has unleashed terror on the villagers of Cansaulim. At the recent July 30th meeting that the Cansaulim villagers held along with the GBA, Dr Marconi Corriea, Sheela Gracias (daughter of the ex-SP) and others exposed this evil nexus and the Cansaulim Villagers Committee was formed to thwart these destructive forces from going about their nefarious plans to destroy the village. This has resulted in this evil nexus that is operating ready to go to any lengths to push their mega-projects through.

Please voice your support for these brave villagers in Cansaulim who have stood up to oppose this evil Builders-Politicians-Government Machinery nexus that seeks to destroy their beautiful village. The MLA of Cortalim Constituency under whose backing Aboobakr Shaikh has unleashed a reign of terror and not stopping at anything even using goons to attack the Villagers at the Gram Sabha needs to give an explanation for his actions in this whole affair.

Villagers of Cansaulim are simply shocked at the face of the mob and goondasim which has infiltrated their peaceful village. They were heard commenting that the new faces at the Gram sabha were hired goons brought in by the builder and the elected panchayat members to thwart the democratic process in the village by stifling the sane voice of the people by the sheer use of brute muscle power. This is unlawful and a murder of democracy! The authorities in charge of Panchayat affairs in Goa need to probe into this unlawful act and put a stop to it. Day after day we see the same story unfolding in all our villages of Goa where the politicians working with the Builders are all out to destroy our villages! Does the Government of Goa care to heed the voices of it’s people? We need to stand united to flight this evil nexus and expse it for what it is.

To the brave villagers of Cansaulim we are with you in your struggle.

Please voice your support for the Cansaulikars and condemn the builder-politician-Government Machinery nexus!

A.Veronica thanked for supporting Goan unity.

Dear Mr. Veronica,

I on behalf of others in IFF-K would like to thank you for showing your unconditional support. For nearly a year we kept quiet for the sake of unity and finally yesterday KIFF has issued a letter to us which I feel the real Goan community will be the best to judge it once it is publicly published soon.

Very shortly we will call for a Goan public forum to take the case up where only real Goans will be invited and not Goans who are impotent and eunuchs.

More to follow.

SOCCER DISUNITED GOANS IN KUWAIT.

When UG first time decided to initiate our competitive soccer in Kuwait at Sour Ground, it was to be for Goans only but immediately it dawned on their minds that in this way it will not work well and hence it was decided to do it for all Indians though Goans involved in these soccer activities in greater number. When final of the first edition of UG organized soccer League 1979 was shifted to Ahmadi ground, the ground was flooded with huge number of Goan spectators mostly the youth. Seeing this, one long timer spectator on that day Mr. Pascoal Pereira from Majorda, Goa, exclaimed to me thus “What a massive turnout!! It looks Goa is emptied into Kuwait. From where and when this huge number of Goans came to Kuwait?” This is to specify that in our soccer in Kuwait, Goans are taking part in greater number while some cunning Non-Goans are playing the dirty role of splitting Goan unity for their own benefits and for their own ulterior motive. The non Goans who are playing the dirty role are impotent to organize things in massive scale as we Goans did and doing and because they are impotent they are associating with us. If they had massive support in their respective communities, they will kick Goans out of their circle, their outlook is tribal while we Goans are more metropolitan and accommodating. Since non-Goans have no choice, they are taking shelter under Goan umbrella but thru remote control holding the Handle of the Umbrella in their hands because our Goans are “F-A-L = NAL”.

Kuwait Indian Football Federation (KIFF) was in existence since a long time now. Last year due to some reason, rightly or wrongly, without breaching the Constitution of KIFF as given to understand, few KIFF members dissociated from the parent body and established separate soccer activities under Indian Football Federation (IFF), a newly established body. Some useless elements in the KIFF who are fit for nothing for the cause of community tried to castigate the IFF members but they failed because KIFF is an impotent body to do this as it was not recognized body in Kuwait. Nobody recognizes KIFF in the Kuwaiti Official circle. KIFF is the Monarch of what it surveys within the four walls of its functioning. I always remained dissociated from it because overwhelming majority of its Goan members I found to be anti-Kuwait. I say this because during the invasion of Kuwait, we the supporters of Kuwait in Goa organized a great movement in support of Kuwait, in this movement most of the Goan KIFF members refused to participate as if Kuwait is their enemy and Saddam Hussein is their friend. For this reason also, as a mark of protest and as a supporter of Kuwait, I rejected their request of honouring me recently though I have done more for the establishment of KIFF and promotion of our soccer than any of the current KIFF members but I refrained from accepting Cheap honouring from Cheap people.

This year IFF members volunteered to rejoin KIFF by disbanding IFF for the sake of unity and UNITY of Goans by forgetting the past since overwhelming majority involved in our soccer activities are Goans. Overwhelming majority of Goan public and especially the Goans interested in well being of Goans and unity of Goans support the reunification of KIFF and IFF. In this reunification the winners are Goans only while the losers are Non-Goans. Unfortunately, the KIFF refused the reunification saying IFF must first accept the harsh punishment that KIFF inflicts on IFF. The matter then went to Indian Ambassador who according to my source advised KIFF to reaccept IFF members into KIFF fold unconditionally for the sake of unity not only amongst Goans but more importantly amongst Indians. Still as per the latest news, KIFF is adamant. KIFF members are acting like Supreme Court Justices. I pity their wisdom and abilities.

Overwhelming majority members of KIFF are Goans and for the sake of Goan unity they should have been unanimous in supporting Goan unity. If they were Malyalis I don’t think Malyalis would desert their Malyali brothers even they were wrong. There lies the greatness of Malyalis when they support their own Malyalis even blindly when need arises against their common enemy while we Goans are selling ourselves to non-Goans and we say we are “Honrad” Goykar. Good that many of us are working in Kuwait otherwise nobody would look at us back at home because of our ignorance, arrogance and revengeful attitude. And yet we call ourselves as practicing Christians. Our arrogance, revenge and unforgiveness attitude is an insult to our Christianity. If we are not forgiving then we have no right to claim ourselves as Christians.

Those Goans in KIFF who are opposing reunification of Goans by accepting IFF members either unconditionally or by imposing minor conditions are enemies of Goa and Goans. These Goans are enemies of unity of Goans. They don’t know the importance of GOAN UNITY because they don’t require Goan unity since they don’t want to initiate any movement for the cause of Goa and Goans. They don’t want to initiate any Goan movement because none of them is capable of doing so since none of them is heavyweight in our community. For such Goans to call themselves as Goans is a Shame.

None of the KIFF Goans inititated any of the Goan movements earlier, NOT EVEN KIFF. Now Goans in Kuwait and elsewhere should know who is the enemy of Goans. It is not Munglurkar, it is not Punjabkar, it is not Delhikar but it is GOYKARS only who got no “Balls” to stand up straight and tell “Yes, for the sake of Goans I want unity by forgetting the past”. Such Goykars are not existing in KIFF. Where are the Nagoa Bardezkar gone? Where is the Cankonkar gone? Where are the Navelkars gone? Where are the Curtorkars gone? I was expecting some sense at least from the Goykars holding good positions on their jobs but my expectations gone wrong. If any castigation is needed it could have been imposed lightly on IFF members but surely not the too harsh way as they are. I don’t understand what some Goans think of themselves when they are running some unrecognised impotent organizations. These Goans are “Kochro” in Goa, they were Kochro before coming to Kuwait and finally when they return for good they will remain as Kochro only. They got girls to marry only because they are in Kuwait. This is their status in Goa but now in Kuwait they are “VOLLENUI DHORONA ANI SUPANUI DHORONA”.

I have seen the earlier gigantic Goan figures in Kuwait who were shaking Goan community in Kuwait but once they retired from Kuwait they turned out to be big ZEROES, Not even a “KUDDO MUS” looks at them in Goa. Where are the then mighty figures from Kuwait gone, namely Avertano Furtado, A.B. Fernades, Vincente D’Souza and others? Some of them are now moving like non entities in Goa because they are afraid of their lives for hurting the interest of Goan community during their heydays in Kuwait. They failed to do good when they could. Compared to these ex mighty Goan figures, the current artificial Goan Kings in KIFF are peanuts and what they will do once they go back to Goa for good? I am sure they will have to wear masks and roam about because of their sins against Goan unity in Kuwait. How they will tell then they have worked for the unity of Goans in Kuwait when they worked for the destruction of Goan unity to satisfy their personal egos? Thank God that they are still having jobs and residence permits. If for their pride they lose their jobs then where will their "Dadagiri" from KIFF go? Their pride invites God's punishment which may be very imminent.

The imperative need at the moment is the need of our Unity to save Goa from totally getting deGoanised. Our enemies Non-Goans are not interested in Goa, they have no proper base, like Jews they are settled away from their ancestral land. We are not like them. We in Kuwait are on record for saving Goa from many mishaps because of our Unity which should be maintained by all means. The KIFF politics against Goan Unity will not help us. The entire Goan community interested in Goan Unity must raise its voice against Goans in KIFF working against the Unity of Goans in Kuwait.

Meantime, I have received communications from social activists in Goa who are interested in Goan unity worldwide. They want to know the names and addresses of all the Goykars in KIFF who are working against the interest of Goans. CAN ANY OF THE IFF MEMBERS SEND ME these details so that I openly publish the same in this forum describing them as ENEMIES OF GOAN UNITY? Let first everyone know who is the enemy of Goans in Kuwait and then let everyone knows the caliber of these destructive Goans.

Meantime, I suggest the IFF members to remain united and don’t succumb to the dadagiri of KIFF and if nothing comes out positively, then carry on with your own tournaments as done last year. There are number of players on your register getting job and financial benefits because of soccer, these facilities should not be denied to them. But before that call a public meeting in Kuwait at any of the City Hotels and explain your views to the Goan public who may be still thinking you are wrong and KIFF is right. Let people know how much you tried for unity and it is KIFF and mainly the Goan members of KIFF who are responsible for disunity of Goans in Kuwait.

ROMAN CATHOLIC PRIESTS. Part: 3.

In my first part 1 I tried to give some light on the office of priests and were did the priesthood came from and in my second part I emphasised on giving the idea on trust towards todays priest which has been damaged and to put total trust in man which is also against the word of God, please remember I quoted one scripture in the end of my second part from Jeremiah 17: 5 . in my last part which I am sure you all will allow me to be very honest and practical to put forward before you all the truth which is only and only is through the word of God.

The problem was, like all human mediators, the priests were sinful themselves and which is also today. They began to neglect their job and Lord their authority over the people. Isaiah 28:7-10 gives us a picture of how far the priests degenerated. “And these also stagger from wine and reel from beer: Priests and prophets stagger from beer and are befuddled with wine; they reel from beer, they stagger when seeing visions, they stumble when rendering decisions. All the tables are covered with vomit and there is not a spot without filth. “Who is it He is trying to teach? To whom is he explaining his message? To children weaned from their milk, to those just taken from the breast? For it is: Do and do, do and do, rule on rule, rule on rule; a little here, a little there.” The priests, or some of them at least, began to concentrate on piling up power for themselves, indulging themselves, while tying burdens on the backs of the people. This is the kind of abuse that sparked the protestant reformation. When Martin Luther traveled to Rome, he saw the opulence of city and staggering wealth that the Renaissance Popes had amassed — and he knew that much of it had been done on the backs of the German peasantry.

That is why there was and is a need for a perfect priest. All the blood shed in the Old Testament looked forward to the perfect priest who would make sacrifice once and for all. That is precisely what Christ did. The whole book of Hebrews spells out how Christ functions as our high priest, and we don’t have anywhere near enough time to mine the riches of that imagery, consider that Hebrews 9:26-28 teaches that Christ, who is fully man, and is thus able to be our priest, is also fully God and his self sacrifice is sufficient to cover the sins of the whole world, past, present and future. So, it was a one-time offering that covered all the sins of the faithful. Christ is High Priest and the sacrifice all rolled up into one.

Additionally, Christ, our high priest, sits in God’s throne room and makes intercession for us. Hebrews 9:12, 24 shows that Christ has gone into the real throne room and there he makes intercession for us. He prays for us. I want you to think about that. Because of your faith and trust in Christ, your sins past present and future have been paid for. And because of your faith and trust in Christ, you have a representative before God’s throne who pleads your case.

We don’t need any one to approach or to stand in front of His Holy throne, cause what Jesus our high priest has done once and for all is enough for Catholic (universal) people. Remember I wrote in my second part that It is a humbling reminder that we live in a fallen world, a world prone to sin and deceit - a world not in need of organized religion, but a world in need of an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ Himself.

We have an unchangeable priest which we can understand in Hebrews 7: 24-27. it is better we put our whole trust in perfect High priest then rather to put our trust in man and bring cruse upon ourselves and also then we have no fear that our trust will ever be damaged.
Allow me to give you a bitter truth and we all have a right to get and to say the truth and the truth is in 1 peter 2: 9 it says ‘ But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvellous light.’

Take your guilt. Take the burdens that you bear. Take the things that keep you up at night. Take the images that haunt you from your past and the things you done this week. Hesitate not one moment and take them to the High Priest. I promise you, he’ll take away the guilt. He won’t erase the past, but he’ll take away the guilt. And if you go to him, the surprise is that he won’t be angry.

There is much to write and much you to read about our perfect priest and time and space doesn’t allow us to do so.Finally I would like to ask Are you glad that Jesus is your High Priest? Why? (We have already discussed several ways in which Jesus is superior to the high priests of the line of Aaron. Jesus is always on the job. Added to all the other great things about Jesus being our High Priest, is that He is working as our High Priest right now. He never takes a break, never takes vacation and never will die. Friend, would you like Jesus to be your High Priest? If so, the time to ask Him to intercede on your behalf is right now!

Concluded.

ROMAN CATHOLIC PRIESTS - Part: 2.

In my first part I attempted to give an idea on Roman Catholic priest and how this priesthood came into existence, as a Christians or as a non Christians we should have an idea about priesthood. In my second part allow me to put some light on the difficult and unfolding issue on today’s priests who are also humans like you and me.

There are many wonderful Catholic priests who have dedicated their lives to God and their church community. This is not a priest-bashing essay, but rather, a reminder that none of us are exempt from our sinful nature, even the "clergy." This is not just a "Roman Catholic problem" catholic means universe. In fact, many believe that there's another "story to unfold" that is just as far-reaching as the scandal within the priesthood. Specifically, there is no reason to assume the rate of child sexual abuse to be greater among Roman Catholic clergy than among Protestant clergy. For instance, in California alone during 2001, there were six convictions involving Protestant ministers and sex-related crimes with minors. There are approximately 46,000 Catholic priests in the United States and 300 cases filed to date, which is under .7% of the priesthood. There are approximately 324,000 Protestant churches in the United States. If the math is correct, the number of cases among Protestant denominations could potentially dwarf the size of the Roman Catholic scandal.

Roman Catholic Priests are facing a dramatic moment in the history of the Roman Catholic Church. It seemed like only yesterday when we heard about the initial allegations of sexual abuse within the Roman Catholic priesthood that were surfacing in the Boston area. Since that time, over 300 lawsuits have been filed in the United States. This scandal has shaken faith in the Roman Catholic Church, and raised questions about basic tenets of the priesthood, including the vow of celibacy and the ordination of women. These allegations are especially disturbing for three reasons. First, parents trusted these men with their teenagers and children in the parochial education system, as well as in church service. That trust has been severely damaged. Second, the Catholic Church leadership has known of these abuses for years, yet it took a public outcry in order for them to be motivated to take remedial action. Third, Jesus Christ spoke specifically about the victimization of innocent children: "But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea"(Matthew 18:6 KJV).

These acts of molestation and lewd conduct seem to be rooted in homosexuality, rather than pedophilia. The exploited victims have been teenage boys (rather than prepubescents of either sex, the normal victims of pedophiles). This "Church secret" has been hidden for decades, with dialogue limited to lowered voices, and with lawsuits settled quietly.

What does all this mean? Why are we focusing on this terrible tragedy? It has nothing to do with Catholicism, Protestantism, or the truth of Christianity in general. It is a humbling reminder that we live in a fallen world, a world prone to sin and deceit - a world not in need of organized religion, but a world in need of an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ Himself.

Lets us all know one thing that no one is superior to God, so then let us not bring curse on ourself cause Bible says in Jeremiah 17: 5 Thus says the Lord: ‘Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart departs from the Lord’.

Will Learn More in Part-3.

Livrament Benaulim crowned Champions - Alvernaz-Lalush Memorial Trophy in Kuwait

Alvernaz-Lalush Memorial Trophy in Kuwait

Alvernaz-Lalush-Memorial-6

Livrament Benaulim crowned Champions

Kuwait: Livrament Boys (Benaulim) emerged champions of the Alvernaz-Lalush Memorial Trophy 7-aside football tournament played under floodlights on 12th August 2010 at the Sur'ra Stadium, Kuwait. ROMAN CATHOLIC PRIESTS - Part I.

Part-1

Roman Catholic Priests - What does the Bible say about the office of Priest? Where did the Roman Catholic Priests get their title?

There are three ranks of priests in both the Old and New Testaments, commonly referred to as high priests, ministerial priests, and universal priests. At the time of the Exodus, the high priest was Aaron. Exodus 30:30 - "And thou shalt anoint Aaron and his sons, and consecrate them, that they may minister unto me in the priest's office" (KJV). Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar were Aaron's sons and the ministerial priests. The people of Israel were the universal priests. Jesus is the high priest in the New Testament. Hebrews 3:1- "Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus" (KJV). The ministerial priests are Christ's ordained ministers of the gospel, and the universal priests are the entire Christian people.

Priests were publicly consecrated and took part in many ceremonies before taking office. They were washed in water, anointed with oil, and clothed with holy garments. Exodus 29:8-9 says, "And thou shalt bring his sons, and put coats upon them. And thou shalt gird them with girdles, Aaron and his sons, and put the bonnets on them: and the priest's office shall be theirs for a perpetual statute: and thou shalt consecrate Aaron and his sons" (KJV). Linen breeches extended from loin to thigh. The anointing of oil and blood from a sacrificial ram were sprinkled on Aaron, his sons, and their garments. After the ceremony, the priests were not allowed to leave the tabernacle for seven days. Leviticus 8:33 says, "And ye shall not go out of the door of the tabernacle of your congregation in seven days, until the days of your consecration be at an end: for seven days shall he consecrate you" (KJV).

Duties of the priest included blessing the people, keeping charge of the tabernacle, purifying the unclean, encouraging the people when they went to war, and keeping the sacred fire always burning on the altar. Special laws regarding their own conduct were to be strictly followed. No divorced or improper person could be married by the priest. No strong drink or wine could be consumed in the tabernacle. Leviticus 10:8-9 says, "And the Lord spake unto Aaron, saying, Do not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations" (KJV).

Not all priests acted in a godly manner. Some were greedy and others corrupters of the law. Strong drink and wine were often drunk to excess and clouded judgment. Hebrews 10:11-12 speaks of Christ as the High Priest: "And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sin: But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God." (KJV). It speaks about Jesus and again we go back in Hebrew 9: 14-15 speaks about the pure sacrifice of Christ for universe people that’s the meaning of Catholic, and He (Jesus) is the only mediator of the New Testament.

The ceremony of Anointing of the Sick is still practiced in the Catholic Church today. Only a bishop or priest can perform the ceremony. The priest lays his hand upon the sick, and prays over them. After the prayer, the anointing with oil takes place. For those who had defiled their souls with mortal sins, penance or confession before the priest is considered necessary. The priest acts as the intercessor between the sinner and God. We will learn more in second part.
