NAVELIM YOUTH'S DEATH PROBE DEMANDED

This refers to Herald Report (9th Feb) on the subject that Parents call for detailed probe into Navelim youth's Randal Jason Fernandes death on board the passenger Cruise Liner "Costa Fortuna". It is reported that Parents of youth have appealed CM Digambar Kamat for a detail probe in the youth's death suspecting foul play. I think since the youth was working on the ship he comes under NRI status and thus Mr. Eduardo Falleiro being Commissioner for NRI, should be approached and it is in right direction that Falleiro has the full obligation to take the matter in his hand and probe the death of the NRI youth. I am confident, Mr. Falleiro will do justice to his Govt appointed Post in coming out with full details on the death, as it looks suspicious that such such a young man will ever end his life by hanging when it appears he is very healthy and had no problems to end his life in this way.

Many Seamen perished or died on board the Ships and Shipping Companies and other authorities just give silly reasons for their deaths which their kins find it unbelievable. No one will go out to Sea and end his life this way while his purpose of boarding the Ship and working as Seaman to earn and support himself and his family

I trust Mr. Eduardo Falleiro being responsible minister for the welfare of NRIs should fully asume his responsibility to help solve the death whether it is murder or suicide.

A Tribute to a Friend

Sunlight streams through the window pane
unto a spot on the floor…………..
then I remember,
it’s where you used to be,
But now you are no more.
Our feet walk down a hall of carpet,
and muted echoes sound………..
then I remember,
It’s where your steps would joyously abound.
A voice is heard along the road,
and up beyond the hill,
then I remember it can’t be yours…….
your golden voice is still.
But I’ll take the vacant spot on the floor
and the empty muted hall
and lay them with the absent voice
and the unused dish along the wall.
I’ll wrap these treasured memorials
in a blanket of my affection,
and keep them for my honest friend
Until we meet above.
