ALERT FOR CUNCOLKARS.

ALERT FOR CUNCOLKARS.

In Cuncolim, Goa, there is a proposal to construct on a land measuring 1.26 lakh square metres, a world class Foot-ball Academy under All India Foot-ball Federation. Though the final handing over of the land is not completed yet because of the pulls and counter pulls between the two ministers against each other, one Joaquim Alemao and the other Mickey Pacheco yet both belongs to the same Ministry under the same Chief Minister Digambar Kamat. Not only these two ministers are disputing each other but as a matter of fact, almost everybody in the ruling coalition in Goa is fighting against each other thereby destroying the principle of collective responsibility under the same Government. This is become like a “Sunnem & Mazranchem Zogdem”. These ministers are thinking that to run the Government affairs is like their “Bapaicho Fath”. At the cost of public exchequer they fight their own personal battles to settle their own personal scores and thereby they become robbers in the eyes of public because by doing their fights they deny the public of their rights of good governance for which they are elected. In the next hustings voters from these constituencies should ponder over this issue. Because these Montris and MLA’s who are fighting their personal battles to get revenge of their colleagues they are unfit to be in the Goa Legislative Assembly. GLA is not a battleground for the “Redde & Padde” to fight their “Dhirios”. There is a saying in Konkani “Redde – Paddeanchim Zogddim mhontlear, Zaddam – Maddanchem moron”. Because of the personal fights amongst the Montris, public interest and development suffer.

It is said that once this grand All India Foot-ball Academy is completed, Goans will be given preferential treatment in the matter of jobs, that is, 50% of the jobs will be given to Goans of which 25 % for the local residents, 5 % for the land losers and 20% to Goans in general. To my surprise it is not disclosed what percentage of the jobs will be allocated to the local MLA/Minister and local Sarpanch. These two personas will be the major beneficiaries of the distribution of the jobs and they will get major financial benefits by selling the jobs to those who are close to them in addition to their close relatives. Most of the benefits provided by the Government are grabbed directly and thru remote control by the local MLA’s and Ministers for their relatives and the sons and daughters of their mistresses. Because of this principle of “loot” and “robberies”, families and relatives of MLA’s and Montris are become rich within a night. This happens because there is no vigilance from upright persons to counter this loot by the looters. Public should be educated to fight against the injustice.

In the matter of allocating jobs to the locals and Goans in the Foot-ball Academy in Cuncolim, there will never be a justice. Every person wielding power and authority will do the way he deems it fit. Sinquerim Taj was the first Five Star Hotel of Goa. It was built in 1974. One year before it was completed, the management of Taj from Bombay came to Goa with a promise that they will give preferential treatment in the matter of jobs for the local residents, mainly the jobless educated and the rest to Goans. This body of Taj even conducted a survey of local jobless in Candolim by visiting almost every house thereby giving an impression that Taj will take care of the villagers. When Candolim Communidade leased the Sinquerim Hilly land to Taj to construct this Hotel, it was assured by the top Taj management to give preferential treatment for the locals and Goans in the matter of jobs. On this ground, even the locals in their individual capacities co-operated with the Taj in all respects. But, once the Sinquerim Taj was completed, its management said “locals bosle Konkear” and by using this ungrateful “Bharati Ghantti” principle, most of the top posts were given to Non – Goan Ghanttis from Kerala, Madras, Delhi, Bombay and from other parts of Ghantti land. Goans and mainly the locals were put not only on secondary but tertiary level. Our young Goan girls as soft spots were given the jobs of Front Office Assistants and Linen Girls as decoration toys.

Local leaders and Sarpanch used their clout with Taj management in Sinquerim to give preferential treatment in the matter of jobs for their own nearest and dearest and in the bargain they also acquired some benefits for them from the Taj. And all the promises and assurances given by the Taj management to the locals had gone with the winds. Because Taj’s top management is run by the Bharatis, these Bharatis never did justice for Goa and Goans. Our cheap illegitimate Goan leaders will easily succumb to the inducements of Bharati Ghanttis. There is no greater crook in this world like Bharati crook. I am sure, even in Mumbai terrorism on 26/11 there must have been the hand of Bharati crook otherwise it is not that easy for just 10 terrorists coming all the way from Pakistan and take Mumbai a city of millions as hostage for 60 hours.

Coming back to Sinquerim Taj, some of the tin pot leaders from Candolim slipped directly under the petticoat of the Taj management. I revolted against this lop sided policy of Taj Management at Sinquerim and with my colleague Alex Pinto stopped JRD Tata at Sinquerim when he first time came to Goa to have a nice glance of his Taj in Goa. The chamchas of Taj in my locality could not absorb what I did but to confront me by any one during that time was like confronting Himalaya Mountain, unshakable – unbreakable – unbendable in my principle. There was uproar all over our locality of what I did, some castigated me for confronting Tata as if I committed a sacrilege while most in my locality and in surrounding areas supported me. The late Mark Fernandes from Calangute and other top political leaders started prowling on me to get me in their fold. Pankar the then big man of MGP sent feelers to me with an offer for contesting next election from Calangute constituency. I refused this offer saying “I am the real son of my real father, however small he may be”. My father taught me to be the man of principle. How can I join MGP when I support Konkani and Goa for Goans cause which both are opposed by MGP? Today’s many MLA’s in GLA are not the true sons of their true fathers and because they are not, they are jumping from one party to another and when elected from one party they defect to another party. From this unprincipled stand of theirs one can make out clearly that they are not the genuine sons of their genuine fathers. Because they are not “Asli” but “Nakli” they are bastardizing Goan politics and spoiling the image of Goa and Goans.

Cuncolkars are known to be the strong fighters for their rights. They have history for fighting for their rights. Some of my best friends and colleagues in some movements are from Cuncolim and by being with them, by integrating with them I know their sense of fighting for justice. From what we Candoikars experienced in 1974 from the hands of Taj management, Cuncolkars should not experience from All India Foot-ball Federation. Cuncolkars should remain alert now only and be vigilant throughout. Do not trust your elected representatives to do justice for you. They have their own ulterior motives. This is only an alert for Cuncolkars.
