IS THIS OUR INDIANNESS?

The brutal double murder of the father and his son in  the Police custody, last week in a so called civilized ad developed Indian Tamilnadu where very many Indian Madrasis are boasting of their high grade decent Iindian tradition and Indian educational background, sent shivers and chills into the hearts not only of Indians but even in people living in other parts of the World. Though it was called the custodial deaths yet it was nothing but cold blooded custodial  murders committed by the dirty Madrasi Policemen who had no hearts but Rocks inside their Chests.  Once an accused is in the hands of police, his life security is the duty of the Police otherwise they are to be blamed for his death. Because of not prompt in closing his Mobile Shop, the father Jeyaraj  was as per the information gathered, taken to the Police Station where his grown up son Beniks also went to help his father and to prevent the Police from assaulting his father so brutally. However, the most disgraceful Policemen from the most disgraceful Indian Madras, for about 3 days tortured them the father and the son so much that there was not a single part and organ of their bodies without injury including their private parts, disclosed one source. Their clothes were filled with blood and on 4^th day they were declared as dead due to high fewer and cardiac problems, as per the news coming out from Madras. Without even seeing the documents brought to the judge at his residence for obtaining the remand for both the father and son, the most stupid Judge gave his nod for the remand not even making an attempt to check the most hurting conditios of both of them. These judges and these Policemen of India if time comes they will even sell their country to Chinese and Pakistanis.  We know in the past how Indian Scientists from Indian Delhi gave Indian Atomic secrets to our enemies for Whiskey Bottle and for white skin sex.  Such disgraceful Indians are existing and  such Indians how they will indicate their patriotism to Bharat  and to the Bharatis?

Recently in the USA due to Police brutality a black man, George Floyd was brutally killed by the White skin Policeman  and because of this murder Americans in USA paralysed the Country leading to the shame and disastrous  consequences for the Trump administration. Not only that, the more advanced citizens of their countries namely from China, Hong Kong, Bangladesh and some more by coming out on to the roads in their respective countries put American racist Whites into shame. The noise of what American Blacks has made finally its echo was heard in the countries beyond America. This is the power of democratic voice which is not practiced in India because we Indians are not genuine democrats and lover of freedom of speech. We Indians are backward however best we may speak in praise of our democratic set up. 

In fact in democratic set up and Parliamentary  democracy compared to Indians living in beyond the Goa borders  and beyond the boundary of Goa, we Goans were far advanced.  In fact we Goans perfected the art and science of Parliamentary democracy much before Indians heard about it, we in Goa were representing Goa with the 2 elected MP’s in the Portuguese Parliament, one from South Goa and the other from North Goa while none of the Indians elsewhere in India did  know what is Ballot Paper and how to put their votes.  Besides we were well versed in electoral system when the Portuguese administration allwed us to conduct election for Municipalities in the major cities.  The Indians in other parts of India were not even novices in this system indicating that we in Goa were much advanced than them.  This is the matter for Goans to acknolwdge the gratitude of the government of Portugal for raising our standard in all respects to the pedestal. If we Goans are what we are today it  is mainly  because we were ruled by the Portuguese and who finally made us as Portuguese as they were and not the second class as British made.

However, when our Indian brothers, the father and the son duo were beaten to death, no reaction was created as it was done in America.  Why is this?  Are they not our brothers when they are also Indian citizens?  It looks there are no feelings for Indians when injustice is meted out to other Indians anywhere in India.  In USA when the black George Floyd was murdered by the American white Policeman, all the Americans irrespective of their skin colour or origin as one community joined together and demanded in one loud voice justice to the murdered black and they succeded. 

It was given to understand that the father and son murdered in the Police custody in Madras belonged to the Nadar Christian community coming from the lowest social strata where they were once even in the recent past, treated like dirt with the total discrimination from all angles. Even when they were coming out in the open road they had to tie a big Broom to their back and as and when they walked, the Broom tied to the back was cleaning the road of their step marks because their feet were considered as dirty. To this extent the Nadar Indians from the so called developed South India were made to suffer the humiliation. Only when they en masse rejected their discriminatory Hinduism and embraced Christianity that gave them a sense of identity in the human race. Otherwise if it was not for the Christianity they would be still suffering under the harsh discriminatory Hinduism.  This was the great achievement and work Christianity acquired for which we must all in one voice thank Christianity. 

The Police who arrested the father and son were it seems Hindus having traditional revenge against Nadar Christians who under Christianty improved and developed a lot that make them a source of envy from others.  This may be one of the reasons to get the father and son into the hell because Madrasis are known to be rigid communalists and casteist.

It is a pity that we Indians don’t show our brotherhood to our own Indians when there is injustice done to them otherwise the entire India would march to Madras and demand justice for the murdered father and son.  We show our oneness only when we play Cricket and that too against Pakistan and not during any other occasion, not even during the war with our enemies.  Why this is happening among us?  Even Bangladeshis and Pakistanis are more patriotic towards their countries and their fellow citizens.

ANTI-DEFECTION LAW SHOULD BE MADE RIGID.

                      I am not an expert on our Constitution and my knowledge on our Constitution is limited yet as a layman I still feel the founding fathers of our Constitution where Dr. Ambedcar the Learned luminary in this subject played a leading role in framing our most lengthy Constitution in the World,  committed a big blunder by underestimating the power of the Defectors to bring about the Defection. In fact I feel the makers of our Constitution failed to foresee in our politically corrupt elected representatives the tendency to make use of Defection a mode to jump into another party where they will get maximum personal benefits which is what the defectors anxious to get.  No defector is defecting on intellectual or ideological ground, everyone defects only for his or her personal interest.  Because of this easy facility the electoral democracy of India is become a big joke and the politicians are become big jokers.  Inspite of this mischievous  facility to play their political games, the defectors with their game of defection are accepted and tolerated by all the top leaders of the country without any shame because they stand to gain by keeping the defection facility intact since the major parties are using this criminal facility to criminalise the Indian politics in their favour.  For this reason both the major parties BJP and Congress  do not talk on this worst aspect of our Constitution.  Our leading political parties and their respective leaders got no marbles in their Underwears to come out with the solution for this defection, they are so corrupt that they can easily be called the Politcal Rascals in our country.  

                       If Indira Gandhi was genuine leader longing to see the good of the functioning of our electoral political system, she would have long back corrected this malaise of defection when she had absolute  majority more than once in the Parliament but she never touched this topic because she was like a sly politician filled with corrupt political practices using Defection everywhere in India for her Congress Party to rule everywhere.  And what about the BJP?  Are they any better than the Congress?  They are worse than the Congress, they are harping everywhere that they want to give clean political system in India but in reality they do the opposite and to see them doing this one need not make use of the Binocular but even with naked eyes one can easily see this.   

                In the last election Congress won the clear majority entitling it to form the government.  But shortly,  GFP  plus MGP and Independent all joined the BJP to form the Ministry.  Following this, one more group of 10 Congress MLA’s  without  fear of the judiciary  to treat their action as ultravires of the constitution nor fear of their voters that they will boycott them in the next election, joined BJP. It is clear now the defectors do not care for anything, with the defection weapon they can convert our democracy into a dictatorship.    

                      The defectors brought their voters to a level of their servants as telling them, “go and vote for me” and voters meekly oblige by giving total authority for the representatives to use their votes the way they want.  Then with this backing the MLA’s  act like  absolute dictators for their own benefits. 

                        It is a pity that nobody in our land is thinking to bring about changes in defection law making it impossible to defect, what Rajiv Gandhi did after his mother’s assassination was  negligible.  Hence, it is imperative that the National Political Parties must be forced to introduce  this topic in their election Manifesto in the next election.

GREAT FOOTBALL TOURNEYS ORGANISER - BENGALO.

Over a quarter of  a century back, when the great Brazilian footballer magician “Garrincha” died, his coffin draped with Brazilian soccer Flag  was brought to the mighty stadium “Maracana” where a sea of humanity paid its last respect for their once hero; Hero of 1958, 1962 and 1966 World Cup Tournaments who in all the three World Cup appearances dazzled the world with his sheer genius in shooting the ball into the opponents goals from long distance, dribbling the ball like a magician even in front of his opponents evading past all of them and make joke of the goalkeepers of his opponents, receive and pass the ball accurately and indicate his perfectness in the aerial duels. With his bendy legs, he could easily score goals directly from the corner kicks. Experts in soccer said that he was as good as Pele but still he remained far behind Pele because Pele’s genius was unmatchable and Pele’s discipline on and off the field was something to be admired. What Pele could do for the ball with his right foot no other footballer could do. Pele could make the ball to do anything except talk. Pele had the mastery of 3 specially perfected foot-ball Tricks, namely “Overhead Kick (Cycle Kick), Banana Kick, Play the ball off an opponent’s leg and Play the game where there is no Ball, that is simply run on to the space where there is no ball and thereby simply pull one or two defenders towards him to mark him and leave the space empty from  where Pele pulled the defenders after him.  Our Andrew of A+B+C+D fame of Vasco Sports Club used to perform the last type of Trick that is of simply running opposite side of the ball and pull at least one defender after him, though sporadically yet he used to put this Trick into practice and at Duler Ground Mapusa I was victim of him.

Garricha played best of his soccer along with Pele for many years and this duo created wonders on the field. Many of his goals came from the feedings Garrincha received from Pele and vice versa. He would still survive on peak of his form like Pele to play for Brazil in Mexico as well in 1970 World Cup but he failed because he was addicted to liquour, night club life and irresponsible sex. Thru these vices he lost his greatness and died a miserable death as a pauper inspite of having earned so much.  He was the father of number of children. Garrincha coming from poor family background rose to the level almost of a king because of soccer but died as a beggar. Very many of our celebrities suffer this type of powerty because of the improper guidance for them from their Guides/Managers. Secondly all the celebrities do not think of tomorrow, they think and live for today only, tomorrow means nothing for them, they think tomorrow will also fetch them all the best as they got today but poor thing, they fail to realize that TOMORROW IS THE MOST UNPREDICTABLE DAY. 

Coming back to Garrincha, soccer fraternity in Brazil and his fans never forgot to respect him in his death. This is the greatness of such once great foot-ballers on the other side of the Globe.  There they  adore and respect equally well during their playing career and also in their retirement period for this reason best of foot-ballers are produced and created on that side of the World.  We in our country we don't do this, once even an exceptionally talented foot-baller during his top form but during his difficult days in his retirement time when he suffered so much, nobody cared for him. India has never produced a player and a goal scorer like Neville D’Souza, he    had the unique distinction to play for India in the Olympics and score a hat trick, people all over India were kissing his feet and in Bombay where he developed his foot-ball skill by playing for Caltex Team and where he was considered the most precious Goan, regretfully and unfortunately died a sad death sans money even for his medical treatment.  The society and the community that was calling their hero and taking pride in him even forgot him during his last poverty stricken days.  I feel ashamed for my Goenkarpon where in Bombay this Goenkarpon was totally forgotten and in future it will disappear from this planet because of the principle followed, “APUN APLEAK ANI DEV SOMESTANK”.

In my village IN Candolim, there was one village Church “Pedho” (Grave digger), his name was Bengalo. He was till his death in 1977 a football crazy. He was not a football player himself but was a very good football tournament organizer and a referee at LOCAL level. During night time he was a number one “Bebdo” but during the soccer match perfectly o.k. He was very rich in love for soccer but very poor in money. Hence, he was robbing money from the village Church Pe. Vigar and purchasing beautiful Trophies and Medals to organize Inter Ward Soccer Tournaments in Candolim. By doing this he was not only showing his love for soccer but also uniting people thru the medium of soccer. During those days in my village, Bengalo’s tournament means something big and locals used to flock the ground to watch and cheer their favourites. Even spectators from the neighbouring villages used to watch this tournament.

Once during Portuguese time at Nerul football ground, after finishing the match, Bengalo ran to the ground and presented a beautiful Medal to one Portugues Paklo, right outer playing for St. Inez, this Paklo was playing beautifully. When this Paklo saw a strange person running to him in torn banyan and torn short, he became alert but Bengalo went straight to him, hugged the Paklo and said to Paklo in Portuguese “Bom – Bom” (this was the only word illiterate Bengalo knew in Portuguese). Paklo laughed and laughed, so too the spectators. Next day while checking his money, Pe. Vigar noticed 100 Escudos missing from his bag. These Escudos – Portuguese currency in Goa – were robbed by Bengalo from Pe. Vigar to purchase a beautiful Medal to present it to that Paklo player of St. Inezn . Bengalo was not a professional Thief but an amateur whose robberies were limited to the limited amount only for the limited purpose only otherwise he would rob all the money of the Pe. Vigar and not just 100 Escudos.

When Bengalo died in 1977, I was in Goa on vacation. Thru my initiative and thru the support and co-operation of the locals, Club, Church and Panchayat, we made Bengalo’s funeral very grand even with Bras Band in attendance and brought his coffin to the football ground to pay a fitting tribute to his love for soccer. In a small ceremony on football ground attended by number of people participating in the funeral procession, the Club president and Sarpanch lauded the efforts of Bengalo to promote soccer in our village. And after the funeral in the Cemetery, Pe. Chico Monteiro, the renowned Goan priest from Candolim who attended the funeral, in his brief speech praised Bengalo for uniting the locals and bringing them together thru the medium of soccer. Pe. Chico Monteiro concluded his funeral oratory with a statement saying “a great man and a great peace maker has died in Bengalo”.

An ordinary man with ordinary background received an extraordinary honour in his death and in his own locality where he was born and brought up even though Jesus Christ advised his apostles not to preach in their own localities because of their humble background locals will not give respect for their preachi8ng, instead of listening to the preaching of the prophets the listeners will point out to the low background of the prophets.  But such a pointing of finger was not pointed out to our Football crazy Bengalo when the whole village bowed  down its head in respect for his Coffin irrespective of  his being a ganvcho Pedho or not and I can rightly say that such an honour nobody received in Candolim till today. It all happened because of soccer and because of the  few of us who were present during his funeral and who knew the great work Bengalo did in the promotion of FOOT-BALL.  MAY HIS SOUL REST IN PEACE.

CLASH BETWEEN INDIA & CHINA.

                                                          Twenty soldiers of India killed by the Chinese just a few days back is not a big number for India to think seriously and  take corrective steps to evade the repetition of such incidents? Did Indian intelligence find out the capacity of our soldiers to face the supposed to be the superior quality of Chinese, Militarily? Or did India took Chinese as Sri Lankans and Nepalese?  India lost 20 soldiers just like anything, is it not because of the wrong preparation of Indians to face as understood, the much superior Chinese who liquidated Indian soldiers as if it was nothing?  The leadership of India will do better when it answers clearly why and under whose order Indian soldiers were sent to face this type suicidal death?  What is the defense ministry saying?  What was their opinion and assessment before India’s soldiers engage with their enemies? Did they take Chinese lightly? And is really the number of deaths was 20 only or more?

      

                                                     In mid-eighties in the longest time Hyjacking of a Kuwaiti Plane, I think coming from Thailand and taken to Iran, because of one American passenger flying in that Plane, the then President of USA was not sleeping properly by keeping constantly awake even late at nights to enquire about the safety of Only One citizen of theirs and when India lost its 20 soldiers it should be terrible. What was the intelligence advice before engaging in this so called skirmishes with China?  Did India think it would be a Kabaddi match with China to take it so lightly the life security of its so many soldiers?  Or is India having extra excess soldiers to allow them to be sacrificed ?    They had human life in them. And can India trust China from its past experience?

                                                         When Nehru visited China somewhere in 1954 the base for the slogan “Hindi-Chini Bhahi – Bhahi” was just laid and it was further fortified somewhere in 1960 when Cheu-en-lai visited Delhi.  But hardly had the echo of this slogan died down, in 1962 China waged a border war with India killing so many soldiers of India and annexing a big area of land of India which is still in their possession.

                                                             Is India capable to fight with China?  This question must be answered first in its proper perspective.  Burning Chinese Flags and effigy of their leader and boycotting Chinese goods will solve India’s problem? By marketing Chinese goods did India getting benefits or the other way round? This is an economic point and whoever is benefiting more surely will move forward.  Fighting China is not fighting Portuguese soldiers in Goa in 1961 and not Pakistan in East Pakistan.   China is a rogue nation and most unreliable besides Militarily more advanced. This nation does  not care for the World public opinion and it is not a democratic country for its leaders to rule it decently.
