It is 22 years now passed since the invasion of Kuwait yet some incidents occurred at that time among Kuwait Goans are very important for Goans to know who is good and who is bad so that corrective steps are taken to prevent recurrence of such incidents for the good of Kuwait Goans in particular and Goans in general.
While thru my initiative GOA-KUWAIT SOLIDARITY CENTER was established, there was one more organization formed in Goa during the invasion of Kuwait. This was KUWAIT GOAN EVACUEES SOCIETY which was totally independent of GOA-KUWAIT SOLIDARITY CENTER whose activities were totally different from that of Kuwait Goan Evacuees Society. This society after the liberation of Kuwait collected Rs. 50/- from each Goan to fill his/her form with an assurance to make arrangement for his/her returning back to Kuwait. Innumerable Kuwait Goan evacuees filled-up these forms by paying the indicated fees and thru this process this Society collected huge amount of money which finally gone where? Nobody knows. Up to now it is a mystery.
Two of the stalwarts of this Society were Alex Wilson Coelho and Wilson Rodrigues both from Curtorim. It was their responsibility to disclose how much money has been collected and where and how it was spent. They along with other members of this society are totally silent over this matter giving an impression that this society has looted this fund collected from Kuwait Goan Evacuees. In this case both Coelho and Rodrigues are part of the loot. Hence, it is dangerous to involve both these guys and other members of this society in any Goan organization where money matters are involved. Through this write-up I am alerting Goans to be careful of these persons. .
For the benefit of concerned Goans let me reiterate that I was not a member of Kuwait Goan Evacuees Society nor in anyway I was associated with this Society. I bear no responsibility for any action of Kuwait Goan Evacuees Society and nobody should hold me responsible for any action of Kuwait Goan Evacuees Society either.
Immediately following the liberation of Kuwait a delegation of Kuwait Goan Evacuees Society including Alex Wilson Coelho went to New Delhi and besides others met with Kuwait’s Ambassador in Delhi. After returning back to Goa this delegation according to available information impressed upon Kuwait Goan Evacuees that they have a mandate to collect the forms from Kuwait Goan Evacuees desiring to return to Kuwait. For each of these forms as mentioned above Rs. 50/ was charged from every applicant. And finally what happened to these forms and a huge amount of money collected? Can Alex Wilson Coelho and Wilson Rodrigues and other members of KGES answer this question?
