Santa "Pai Natal" paints Christmas Celebrations with Joy

Goan Cultural Center-Kuwait celebrated the Christmas Tree celebrations with pomp and pageantry on December 12, 2008 at the beautifuly decorated premises of the Carmel School, Kheitan, Kuwait. As the sun moved in the sky spreading rays, the guests started to pour in at the venue, exchanging greetings and good wishes with tons of smiles. The venue wore a truly great festive look and with Santa "Pai Natal" arriving with his bagful of goodies, the children as well as adults went into the mode of ad delirium. The celebrations were laced with variety entertainment programs with DJ Mario sending the pulses racing. The fancy dress competition in the category of one to six years was a really delightful sight and Master Ryan and Rhea Marshall emerging as the deserving winners whereas, in the category of 7-12 years Henrietta Barbosa and Shania Rebello captured the winning crowns. Another beautiful program was a Rainbow dance choreographed by Effie de Mello and Corraine Santos. Christmas hampers draw kept the guests sharng anxious moments in which Sheila Rebello won a LCD monitor, Mr. Max won a Samsung Fridge, Gaurish Naik was presented a Microwave and Rita Vijoy winning a National brand juicer.

Besides, there were more 26 prizes for hamper draw winners apart from very attractive spot prizes. Glamorous Shirley was selected as the most tantalizingly atractive guest on the floor. The Christmas Tree Celebrations were patronized by Mr and Mrs. Sandra Dastani as very special guests. The Christmas Tree Celebrations were sponsored by Global Express Worldwide and Mughal Mahal Group of exquisite restaurants. Eng.Suresh Naik, president of Goan Cultural Center warmly welcomed the guests and Carmo Santos, Chairman of Goan Cultural Centre proposed a laudable vote of thanks.

Finally praise and appreciation goes to Compare Allwyn William Fernandes for beautifully controlling the wave lengths with humour and zest. A sumptous buffet completed the glittering celebrations. The judges for the competitions were Jossy Fernandes, Sunny Nazareth & Sandra Dastani. The official photographer was Goa's famous Rewon Gomes and the Official videographer Joe Almeida were thanked by the organizers. The Carol Singing group headed by Lorraine De Mello with Fredrico De Mello on Keyboard, Gilberto on the base and Merwyn Fernandes on the violin graced the occasion with Christmas carols heralding the good tidings of the season to the delight of the attendees. The success of the celebrations goes to all the team members who worked tirelessly. The Goan Cultural Centre is the only recognized and registered Goan organization with the Embassy of India to hold a Christmas Tree programme for its members and the Goan community this year. The festive crowd thanked the organizers for their hospitality and a fun-filled day of games of skills, music, prayers and festivity and wished everyone season's greetings and a very prosperous new year to all residents of Kuwait.

Well-known Goan priest and acclaimed Tiatrist Fr. Nevel Gracias has already arrived in Kuwait on 24th of this month.

Rosary Ferns on behalf of his troupe welcomes Fr. Nevel Gracias to Kuwait and wishes him a comfortable stay in Kuwait.

Taking this opportunity of his stay in Kuwait Fr. Nevel Gracias will participate in the forthcoming Tiatro "KUWAIT SODDUN VETANA" of Rosary Ferns on 16th January 2009 at Hawally A/C Hall, starting at 3.30 pm.

In addition to Fr. Nevel Gracias and the local artistes, 6 outstation Tiatrists from Goa will come to Kuwait to participate in this Tiatro which is going to be the first Tiatro of the season.
