The following article of mine was published in the local "Kuwait Times" today, dated 08.01.09.
For goa-kranti readers I am reproducing it. The last two paras are added now to the original.

KILLINGS OF PALESTINIANS BY ISRAEL.

With the strongest terms I condemn the Israeli killings of innocent Palestinians in Gaza Strip. It is a wholesale genocide committed on powerless people by the Jewish authority in occupied Palestine. Over 600 deaths just in few days are not enough for the world conscience to get aroused? I find Christian West in general and Christian US in particular are biased against Palestinians who were denied of their birth rights of residing in their own anchestral residential houses and in their own lands independently. To accommodate illegally in Palestinians’ land and property Jews were given preferential treatment just as Jews were given preferential treatment in the Holy Bible saying that “Jews were chosen people”. Because it was written in the Scriptures that Jews were chosen people, should we give them preferential treatment to mete out inhuman treatment to treat their brothers Palestinians in an in human manner? And by the way, is this Biblical statement really a Biblical or was it a trick by the Jews of those days to fool the followers of Christianity to get their support for them for any nonsensical cruel acts of theirs against others? For me preferential treatment means discrimination by one against the other and since God is Just, I am sure the same Just God will never permit such apartheid towards His own children. All human beings are children of same God and as such the same God will not perform any discrimination against His own children.

The birth of Israel in Palestine was a big mishap and calamity. It was a big wrong done on Palestinian Arabs with the help of the West in general and Britain in particular. In the name of fulfillment of “Promised Land”, Israeli Jews were implanted in Palestine and original Palestinians were uprooted from their ancestral lands and houses. This was injustice. Since the birth of Israel in occupied lands, Jews with the backing of west in general and US in particular are destroying the Palestinian Arab race comprising both Muslims and Christians. Palestinian Arabs are not Muslims alone, they are Christians as well. Some of the greatest patriots of Palestinian cause were Christians including Archbishop Capuchi who suffered so much from the hands of Jews in Israel. The right minded people will always support the cause of Palestinians for their self determination. I too am a strong supporter of Palestinian cause because their fight for their cause is just fight though I am neither an Arab nor a Palestinian. But I know one thing and that is they deserve backing and support even moral.

While supporting their cause, I must also ask myself whether I am supporting the right cause thru right means? According to Mahatma Gandhi, means should be as much right as the ends”. While fighting for our rights we must see to it that we don’t employ wrong means and thereby suffer losses in human beings and other resources. Palestinian Hamas by firing Rockets at Israelis in Israel are doing injustice to their own innocent people who receive the wrath of Israeli brutalities and killings.

Those who are firing Rockets from Gaza against Israelis are well protected from Israeli attacks while innocent Palestinians in Gaza are martyred. Who is responsible for their innocent deaths in hundreds? Are these Palestinians came into this world only for self sacrifice and martyrdom? It is like committing suicides by the innocent Palestinians from Gaza. This does not mean Israelis are authorized to commit brutalities against Palestinians the way they want.

Currently there is no power on earth to check Israeli brutalities. Palestinians have got no faithful brothers and sisters to support them. They have only talking brothers. Hamas should take note of this and act accordingly. They are like ants in front of militarily mighty Israel. And as long as West and USA are with Israel thru thick and thin, no power on earth, no Hamas, no Palestinians and no Arab can shake Israel an inch. This is a hard fact which Arabs and Palestinians have failed to recognise during the last 60 years. Palestinians and Hamas must stop being revengeful and accept what is given to them for their development and not for firing Rockets which in return will get more powerful Rockets in the form of Bombs from the other side. When I see pictures of hundreds of Palestinians including innocent children killed by the cruel Israelis, I feel pity on them. If more peaceful methods are utilized, Palestinians and Hamas can gain more and people in authorities must pursue only the peaceful methods. Resentment and confrontation will never solve the crisis in Palestine. Israel, once again I iterate, is too powerful. Palestinians and Hamas are too weak in front of Israel. Hence Palestinians must silently accept what is given to them and enjoy on it. While concluding, let me quote G. Bernard Shaw “When rape is inevitable, the girl should just lie down and enjoy”.

The above mentioned three artistes will show their artistic prowess in the forthcoming Tiatro "KUWAIT SODDUN VETANA" written and directed by Rosary Ferns. This Tiatro will be staged on Friday 16th of this month at Hawally A/C Hall at 3.30 pm.

All these three artistes will play their roles in the play and will give maximum satisfaction to the audience.

What exact roles they will play will be seen only when you witness this Tiatro "UWAIT SODDUN VETANA" on 16th of this month.

In addition, besides Fr. Nevel Gracias, 6 prominent Tiatrists from Goa will visit Kuwait only to participate in this Tiatro. They will act in the play and will render beautiful songs. They are Lawry Travasso, Francis de Tuem, Marcus Vaz, Comedians John D'Silva & Selvy and Miss Bhuska.

The Local artistes are Cajetan de Sanvordem, Sylvester Vaz, Laurente Pereira, Xavier Furtado, Katty de Navelim, Bernardo Fernandes, Joseph Rodrigues, Salu Faleiro, Bab Agnelo, Bai Clara, Bai Riana, Bai Irene Vaz and Rosary Ferns.
