It was very sad to see
nobody at the Airport at Dabolim on behalf of the management of FC Goa to bid
adieu to Sergio Lobera the sacked head coach of FC Goa Foot-ball Team. But there were some Goans in their individual
capacity, to say Adeus to him. The
attitude of FC Goa management to treat him thus is not only UnGoan but also
AntiGoan. i feel ashamed that such stupid people are acting on behalf of Goans. However much you dress him up and decorate a Ghantti he will never
change, “Ghantti to Ganttich” goes thus our Konkani proverb. This proves that no Ghantti can acquire the
great cultural habbits of Goans however much he may say that he is a Goan, he
is not and will never because he is a non-Goan and as such his roots are Ghanttar. He will treat his guests and hosts too as non
entities. We Goans are not like them “beiman”. We always treat our guests with respect and
love and we are always grateful to those who does something good for us and
here lies our greatness.
Can now when FC Goa has
already lost all the love and affection of so many sons and daughters of Goa revive
the same earlier love and affection? FC Goa under non-Goan ownership and
management lost all its greatness needing Goans to take it over. Are there no financiers in Goa to accept this
challenge on behalf of Goa and Goans?
Where are the Salgaocars, Dempos, Churchills, Mickeys and others at this
stage? I am sure you are having Goan
blood running in your veins, so please come forward and revive the love and
standard of Goans in Goa by taking charge of FC Goa. Let the Ghantti go back to Ghanttar, Goa is
too complicated for him and his colleagues, they are come to Goa to make money
and not to do anything good to Goa.
Meantime, the actual
reason for his departure or sacking is still not disclosed. We as Goans want to know this reason and the
owner and Management of FC Goa must disclose it if they are really sons of
their real fathers. There is nothing to
hide if everything is smooth but in this case some mischief has been done in
the name of Goa. We don’t want the image
of our Goa to spoil.
A. Veronica Fernandes.
