Campaigning for Panchayat election
has been started with fury in our areas by some candidates with the platoon of
their supporters. Every candidate is asking you to cast your vote for him. But
what is more important in this election is the election or selection of the
Sarpanch and precisely because of this it is imperative for the voters to ask
any candidate asking you for your vote to name the Sarpanch whom he/she will
elect or select. There is a policy to avoid this question by the candidates
with the answer that “let us get ourselves elected first and then will decide
the choice of the Sarpanch”.
In my village I request the Michael
Lobo panel to declare now only their choice for the post of Sarpanch. This
panel for a long time was under the control of former MLA but just before the
last Assembly election, it was hijacked by Lobo just as the way MGP – IND – GFP
to form the unethical and unjust BJP government. Where there is BJP hand
involved there is bound to be corruption and bribery. Can this panel candidates confirm with open
statement that it will not involve in corruption and taking bribe? By the way, can this panel openly state that none
of its members was involved in accepting bribe and performing corrupt practices
during the preceding years? There are
lot of stories circulating that some of the members of this panel were involved in performing corrupt practices
including demanding bribes. This
important question need answer otherwise voters should not vote the candidates
of this panel.
It is said that this panel shifted
its allegiance to BJP’s Lobo only to get personal benefit for them. The entire panel members are unreliable; if
today they cheated their former SIR then tomorrow there is every possibility
for them to cheat the current SIR too. This
panel has not released its manifesto and hence it is difficult to know what
they will do once they are elected to rule Candolim.
The voters in Candolim must vote for a
true Candoicar who has genuine roots in this village and who knows the history,
tradition and other habits of this great village of Abade Faria and Pintos’
revolutionaries. Don’t elect Dolls who
are naturalized citizens of this village nor those whose roots are Ghanttar. Elect the right candidates who will genuinely
serve you and your village.
