RAPINGS IN KUWAIT.
Harassment to the maids and those women working as domestics is rampant in Kuwait. The local Daily Newspapers are aghast with all sorts of stories where physical abuses are highlighted on females. When one reads these stories one feels disgusted with the people involved in committing such crimes on innocent women who come to this country to earn Dinars to support their nearest and dearest back at their home countries. Those females who come to work here as domestics are poor in their own countries and because they are poor they are coming to earn Dinars here. Otherwise in reality the salaries these women are paid in Kuwait are not much. As for me, I would not advise my dearest and nearest to come to Kuwait to work as domestics for such paltry salaries. The quantity of work and the quantity of working hours do not match with their salaries. Above all, the humiliation and lowliness heaped on them is too bad to bear. Many times it looks that they are denied the sense of human dignity. I feel it is disgusting, filthy and unbearable to know incidents of maltreatment of maids can take place in this so called civilized society where we are living and earning our sustenance.
Now I am referring to the news item in the local daily Arab Times dated 16th of this month about the poor Philippina girl who was gang raped not only by one Kuwaiti youth but by seven Kuwaiti beasts, I call them beasts because they lost all their human attributes. I don’t consider them as human beings but I consider them as wild animals because they handled and feasted on the poor Philippina housemaid as wild foxes, as wild tigers and as wild lions do in the jungle for their poor preys. I applaud Philippine Embassy and its Ambassador for personally taking interest in this case and trying to mete out justice to the poor victim. I don’t think our Embassy and our Ambassador would dare to act the way Philippine Embassy and its Ambassador dared to fight for justice for their victimised nationals. Our nationals many times made as cheap commodities by our own Embassy, our victimized nationals are treated many times with disgust by those who are supposed to protect our nationals. Many times many of our nationals are considered as botheration for our Embassy. For this reason many of us are treated in Kuwait with disrespect and disdain.
Regarding the gang raped Philipina I also support her cry for justice when she said “I want them (the seven Kuwaiti culprits) to rot in the jail. I hope that what they did to me won’t happen to their mothers and sisters”. For these seven beastly Kuwaitis their mothers and sisters are sacrosanct while expatriates namely Asians doing menial jobs are like slaves to be treated with disrespect. I am surprised when such horrible stories are highlighted in the local English Press no Kuwaiti comes out openly in condemning their compatriots for disgracing the image of their country. I don’t think the religion these beastly Kuwaitis are following is allowing them to practice such a genocide on helpless maids. It is a shame not only on the 7 beastly Kuwaitis but also on their parents for not disciplining their sons properly. I only hope with the “wasta” (influence) the Kuwaitis are having in Kuwait the parents of the culprits would not try to shelve this case because sometimes justice is selective and purchaseable too. But I still have strong hope in Kuwaiti justice where judiciary acts appropriately and justly.
It is really horrible to read in the media today abundant news on rapes in Kuwait. Almost everyday news appearing in the Press about rapes and prostitution in certain areas like Abbasiya and Juleeb Al Shouk. Prostitution is supposed to be the oldest profession and no power on this planet can stop it. The great and highly learned Saint of the Roman Catholic Church, St. Agustinho who because of his high learning called the Doctor of the Church, symphatised with the prostitutes because according to him, “prostitutes are necessary evils. Because of their existence and profession”, he said, “our mothers, sisters and wives are safe otherwise they all will be the target of beasts in human beings, the rapists”. Sex is a part of human life for this reason advanced countries including theocratic countries legalized prostitution. Among the expatriates, Kuwait is inhabited mostly by the single males whom we called bachelors, these bachelors as human beings need sex. All males cannot control their sexual urge. Hence, rapes and hunt for illicit sex as we see in the media daily.
According to elders who worked in Kuwait when Kuwait was a protectorate of Britain, before its independence, illicit sex was permitted in Kuwait. The brothels were located in Murqab area near the roundabout. Though it was cheap meant for cheap people yet it used to serve the need of the hour. Precisely because of this availability of commercial sex, crimes related to sex and rapes were almost non-existent then. Yet another instance: Kuwait was under the siege of Saddam’s Iraq for 7 months. Almost half this period I was in invaded Kuwait and during this period I moved a lot and seen a lot in Kuwait. Again illicit sex was going on in Murqab for a price like commercial sex in especially erected small tents with the support of four wheeler Vans. Again, near Muthanna in Kuwait City, Kurdish women were soliciting customers openly and one could take them to one’s residence and have sex with them by paying their fixed charges. Because of this sex freedom there was no need for committing sex related crimes and hence rapes did not exist during that particular period. Though rapes were carried by the Iraqi soldiers during the first 4 days of the invasion. This was done by the invading filthy and beastly Iraqi troops with the support of their guns. This is the normal process for any invading troops. Indian troops did such a dirty job in Goa in 1961 when Goa was forcibly grabbed by the Indian Government headed by Nehru’s Congress Party Government, so too they did in Bangladesh when Indian troops liberated Bangladesh. Hitler’s Army did in all the countries they invaded in the Second World War. They went to such an extent that they even raped Jewish women in Poland when Nazis hated Jews and considered Jews as untouchables. Incidentally when the matter of sex comes, untouchability and other discriminations take back seat. See the incidence the 7 Kuwaitis committed on poor Philippina maid. Otherwise maids are “muskin” (poor - miserable) but for sex it is o.k., anybody “chalta hai”. See in our own Goa, many of the high caste Brahmins are having their concubines coming from the low caste families and harijan category. Shameless people are these and yet they crave for respect in society and disgracefully boast of their superior nationality and superior castes.
I feel Kuwait, in the light of rampant sex related crimes, should legalise prostitution to minimize rapes of innocent females. Because of sexually perverted menfolk Kuwaiti roads and bus stops are not safe for poor and innocent expatriate females especially from the indisciplined Kuwaiti youth who had no guts to touch their own womenfolk. Those Kuwaitis who rape innocent expatriates especially the females from domestic sector are cowards of highest grade and because they are cowards they go after poor maids. It is not difficult to introduce legal prostitution in Kuwait because behind the curtain and almost to the glare of the persons concerned many of the financially affluent men make use of illicit sex and they do it rampantly but do not get caught. They don’t get caught because they use very sophisticated methods and not the crude and cheap methods used in Abbasiya and Juleeb Al Sohouk.

A. VERONICA & FATIMA CELEBRATE THEIR WEDDING ANNIVERSARY
Kuwait City:
A. Veronica Fernandes and his beloved wife Fatima celebrated their 28th Wedding Anniversary, Thursday evening - 20th September 2007 with a modest get-together in Kuwait City. The party was attended by close friends and colleagues of the couple.
As per information, it was at the Holy Family Cathedral, Kuwait City that Veronica and Fatima were married in 1979 on the same day and date(Thursday, 20th September). Their marriage was solemnized by Fr. Fulgencio, a resident Carmelite priest from Margao, Goa.
Like their father both the children are very good sportspersons. Ashton plays in the Kuwait-Indian football games conducted by the expatriates.
A year back he was awarded Man of the Tournament Award during the South Asian Football Tournament for expatriates and also won the top scorer of the Kuwait Indian Football Federation (KIFF) season, while daughter Aveshah has represented Goa University in soccer and other disciplines as well.I need not highlight the achievements of Bab Veronica further but I can say only one thing that there are perhaps few among the expatriate Goans who have done more than what Veronica has done for the cause of Konkani. And his contribution in the promotion of Goan causes is perhaps second to none.
A writer in his own right, there is perhaps no one among Goans in Kuwait who can out-beat Veronica in his writing. He is also one of the most knowledgeable Goans worldwide specially on subjects such as tiatros, politics, football, etc. He is the only Goan in Kuwait who does not require ‘care of’ locating him. His name itself details his identity.
The penultimate item was the speech of A. Veronica in which he described the beauty of his wedded life with a lovely and attractive wife whose ‘beautiful looks,’ he said, ‘still mesmerized his eyes and beautified his heart (Mhoje ghorkarnichi suropai, mhojem kalliz suropaien bhorta).’ Veronica further added that it was Fatima who is more responsible for keeping their ‘marriage sacrament’ stronger. He further went on to say, “though 28 years have passed, yet it looks only 28 minutes for our marriage.”
Fatima proposed a vote of thanks.
Musical score for the songs was provided by Dennis while DJ Wanted provided lively music. Jannet Franco-e-Fernandes bridesmaid at the wedding of Veronica and Fatima in 1979 and 'still standing by the couple', recited a thanksgiving prayer before dinner.

Re: MOPA AND DABOLIM AIRPORTS
Indian Navy will never ever give us back our historical and only one, the Dabolim International Airport. I’m hearing since last 7 years now that Centre had approved CRORES of Rupees for the infrastructure and developments of Dabolim Airport and till-to-date, nothing has been done. My question is; where is the money? When will the work commence? After MOPA airport is built?
I was writing about the Dabolim Airport last 7 years back on the net and so far nothing has been done. It is the same story line, Konkan Railway, Meta Strip, Metro Train, goans objected, centre adopted. I always say our Freedom Fighters had made a great mistake, liberated GOA and merged to India. Indian Navy came and robbed our precious – Dabolim Aiport and Angediva Island. Will Goa and goans be safe? We must ask ourself and we will get the answer.
Latest news during the last election time, MOPA Airport simultaneously will come up in Goa along with upgrading of Dabolim Airport. Not a single MLA has done anything for the Dabolim Airport, only tamashaa has been made by Churchill Alemao only to gain votes and sympathy from the peoples of Goa. Beware, no MLA nor Minister will do his best to save Dabolim Airport.
Only Goan NRIs like Kerala NRIs who built their own airport in Kerala and Consumer Court can save the Dabolim Airport.

Congratulations on Wedding Anniversary
Marriage in our culture, it is a sacred union - husband and wife are bonded for life. Unlike the west, there is so much love and affection in our family life. This is the essence of Goan values and one of our key strengths. The great Mark Twain once said, “No man or woman knows what perfect love is unless they have been married quarter of a century.”
Veronica and Fatima were married at the Holy Family Cathedral, Kuwait City in 1979.
Knowing Bab Veronica for the last few years, I am reminded of what the great philosopher Leo Tolstoy uttered: The goal of our life should not be to find joy in marriage, but to bring more love and truth into the world.
Bab Veronica – as everyone knows him – is a man of strong values practicing simple living throughout. He is as much in love with the society as with his wife and family. He has helped to form a progressive community and perhaps strived more in putting the community interests ahead of his own.
Bab Veronica has been a teacher for our society – specially for those who suffer from feudal thinking. His regular efforts in his writings to show us the roots of where we belong and the commitment to our culture and language were recently recognized by a well-known Konkani organization in Kuwait Konkani Kullvar who honored him for his achievements for the promotion of Konkani language over the years.
We are all aware of our rights as citizens. But Veronica bab has taught us all that our duty is towards the community as a whole, as much as it is towards our families. He has struggled for a better community in line with the famous Winston Churchill who said: Responsibility is the price of greatness. We should know that this is exactly what Bab Veronica has been doing over the years as Veronica himself often says, “We have to extend our family values beyond the boundaries of our home.”
One of the greatest achievements of Bab Veronica was the Goa-Kuwait Solidarity Movement during the invasion of Kuwait. The fact that the movement was recognized by Delhi and Kuwait Government makes it one of the prized memorabilias of Veronica’s life.
As they say, an anniversary is a time to celebrate the joys of today, the memories of yesterday, and the hopes of tomorrow, I wish Veronica bab and Fatima yet another year of a great beginning and cheerful togetherness.
May the winds of heaven dance between them.
Sincerely,
GASPER CRASTO

ARE WESTERNERS WORSHIPPED IN KUWAIT?
Yes, generally speaking, Westerners are worshipped in Kuwait even though they don’t really deserve it. It was construed due to historical facts that Westerners are smart because they dominated over Asians and Africans due to colonialisation process which kept the Asians and Africans subdued by the Westerners especially by the white skinners. Due to industrial revolution in the West, Westerners gained foothold over industrial development which gave the Westerners an upper hand in handling the industrial development which created maximum of output with minimum of inputs. When Westerners came to Asia and especially India for colonization process they came with something new, that is, a weapon called Gun which was earlier unseen in India. Hence, Asians and Indians in particular became subjugated to the Westerners which simply made the Asians enslaved to industrial might of the Westerners not only bodily but also mentally. This is one part of the history why Westerners are adored in Kuwait. Even when Afonso de Albuquerque came to Goa his weapons had more power to outsmart the locals in Goa.
Currently, according to my long years of observation in Kuwait, Westerners are simply adored and worshipped not only because of their work ethics and knowledge of the Western products which are abundantly sold in Kuwait but also because of their white skin. A white skin prostitute is more in demand than an Asian virgin because of the craze for white skin. Workwise Westernerns are compatible with Asians who can easily outbeat Westernerns in IT, Medical, Commercial, Administrative and some other fields. But unfortunately highly skilful Asians and Indians in particular are very much reluctant to come to this part of the world because monetary gains are not the craze for everyone. After all man does not live on money only. Even now-a-days our Goans are not ready to come to Kuwait as they used to come earlier. When I came to Kuwait it was not only necessity but also a craze but now it is totally different. Goa is not what it was earlier, Goa is much developed and good opportunities are plenty in Goa now, so too India as a whole creating more opportunities and demands for locals in their own localities.
Once about 25 years back when representatives of one of the Kuwait’s dailies approached one Editor of a leading daily from Bombay to join their newspaper in Kuwait, the Bombay Editor not only turned down the offer but turned it down scornfully saying Kuwait daily is too small for his stature. Most of the Westerners working in Kuwait are of mediocre caliber but because of their historical inheritance of high respect they are simply worshipped in Kuwait. Normally a high caliber professional Westerner will not come to Kuwait by discarding many of the previleges in his own country. Only a mediocre, or a rejected and suppressed in the West inspite of holding Western Passport will come to Kuwait. During the Portuguese rule in Goa, those Portuguese people who were sent to Goa were not of high calibre and not also of high quality. Masons were sent as Engineers and Hawaldars were sent as Police Officers, these officers ruled over us and we worshipped them because they were our masters as colonisers and because they were white skinners.
Dominating over Asians is normally an inborn ability of the Westerners and to practice this domination Kuwait is a nice place for many of the such Westerners. Such people believe in the principle “it is better to be a master in Hell than a slave in Heaven”. For this reason many of the Westerners especially unfit to survive in the West as full fledged citizens are coming to Kuwait not only for few extra crumbs but for ruling over others. Because of their all round weaknesses they are unable to survive and give leadership in their respective fields in their own countries. For such weak Westerners Kuwait is a nice place, to earn nice money undeservingly and to impose their "dadageri" on weak employees from Asia. Many of them are exploiting Kuwait to their maximum benefits because locals are having very high adoration for them. This adoration was increased after the liberation of Kuwait.
Westerners are dominating in Kuwait not because they are strong and capable of doing excellent jobs but because others around them are weak. I have seen in Kuwait some of the organizations manned at the top by the Asians are run better than those manned by the Westerners. Many of the Westerners coming to work in Kuwait they come to serve themselves only while most of the Asians especially those from the sub-continent come to serve themselves and to serve Kuwait as well. For this reason they put in long years of continuous service with high degree of dedication. Most of the Westerners come to Kuwait for a short period, make fast money within a limited period even by discarding the ethics of work by creating hindrances for others under and around them and then just disappear. I have not seen any Westerner holding top position applying Western methods for the benefits of the staff working under him. On the contrary I saw him exploiting the manpower below and around him by doing "chamchageri" with the big boss.
Asians are many times become victims of the brutality of the Western Managers who think only of themselves. To maximise their income they will go to any extent. Generally speaking I have seen in this world that some of the Managers to get them benefits are even ready to dole their wives to their top bosses. For this reason best of the Pimps in this world are come from the class of Managers. In Kuwait generally speaking a top manager to become a top and to survive there as top has to be a cheat, a crook, a pimp, a liar and a rascal. He need not necessarily be qualified in his trade but if he has dirty habbits to cheat his boss and others then many times it works wonders. Many of the Western Managers are ruthless and merciless. For their survival they would do any damage to the people under them. Normally if you work under a manager from Naziland then your life is in danger leave aside your job. Westerners having Nazis influence will never give you peace on your job. They will try to inflict as much damage on your position as he could. Naziz are racists like Jews for this reasons Nazi Germans are the staunch supporters of Israelis in the Middle East. Working under Nazi Managers many of our elders have suffered a lot. And if these Westerners are having "Pamprelam" as their personal secretaries then your life is finished.
Many of the Goan and Mangalorean "Pamprelam" Secretaries of their Western superiors have done heavy damages for the workers around them. Most of the female secretaries working under their bosses are very backward in many respects back at home. They can survive only in Kuwait and not in any other advanced countries. First of all they are not fit to be the secretaries of their bosses but in Kuwait anything "chalta hai" and for this reason these secretaries act cruel and destructive towards others. They act more than their bosses. When you see these "Pamprelam" in the Church it looks they are going straight to Heaven. Church is become a very good venue for such "Pamprelam" to hide their misdeeds. We are harassed and destroyed in Kuwait not only by the many of the Westerners but also by our own female secretaries who many times by doling their bodies to their Western bosses destroy innocent people working in their companies. For this reason some of such Pamprelam are living in Kuwait singly by rejecting and deserting their husbands who are obstacles for their dirty way of life. This is one way of making fast money to buy expensive Flats in Bombay.
A. Veronica Fernandes,
Kuwait.

CHURCH MUST CONDEMN SINFUL POLITICIANS.
Thank you Fr. Ivo for your greetings and I accept the same with my open heart. I feel proud to receive such a message from an intellectual and learned priest like you. Through our dialogue and discussion in the past in "Dhor Mhoineachi Rotti" - a Konkani monthly - and also our personal discussion at Calangute at my Shop when you used to visit, I learned a lot from you. You are a very wisdomatic priest with highest degree of literary background. You have great love for Goa and Konkani. And you are a source of information for people like me.
I am happy to note that you like my writings in Kranti. Yes, I am now expressing my views thru http://goa-kranti.blogspot.com/ and very freely without any interference of any idiotic minded moderator, without any hindrance from any "bach'cha" moderator who does not know head or tail of Goa, Goan history, tradition etc.. Because of my bold writings I receive lot of threathening messages either thru phone calls or thru emails, mainly from Goa. But when I insist to get the full and real identity of the callers or message senders, all go into sleep. But one thing is certain some persons are having deslike for my bold writings, unlike you. In fact my writings are not bold only, but truthful and dedicated for the cause of Goa and Goans. When I write I make a deep study of the subject and do not do plagiarisation. My writings carry deep love for Goa and Goan causes.
Fr. Ivo, if we allow Goa into the hands of rascal politicians to do what they want then surely they will destroy and finish Goa. Priests like you must come out openly in challenging the rogue politicians. Priests like you must protest over the robberies our politicians are committing on Goa and Goans. Church in Goa is very slow in raising its voice against the injustice going on in Goa perpetrated by our crook politicians. If our Church in Goa was very alert and active like in Philipines many of our ills would have been eradicated. Since the exit of Portuguese from Goa, Church failed us in many respects and still failing. It took over 30 years for Goa Church thru Patriarch Raul Gonsalves to tell the people in Goa not to sell their land. If this instruction was done earlier Goan land in big areas would not have gone into the hands of non-Goans. Church is a respectable organisation and when its leaders speak everyone listens. Hence the need of the Church to take active and forceful part in the happenings in Goa.
Church cannot remain silent over the current events happening in Goa. For example, in Curtorim constituency itself there are so many villages and each village is having its own Church with Pe. Vigar and Pe. Cur at the helm of Church affairs. What are these priests preaching in the Church? To accept what Churchill Alemao is doing or to condemn him? What role did all the priests who were supporting Churchill Alemao against Luizinho Faleiro playing now? Why are they silent? Why cannot they openly and forcefully condemn Churchill's attitude?
It is a big shame for us Chritians and especially Catholics to have such a destructive and corrupt politician in Goa. He is hell-bent to destroy Goa. He is not only a shame on Catholics but also on Goa as a whole. I always supported him thinking that he is having great love for Goa and Goan causes but now I have realised my folly in supporting him. I coaxed others too to support him saying he is a good man. Now I feel ashamed in front of all my supporters. But Churchill does not think sense, he does not care for others. He thinks only for himself. And by doing so he is digging his own grave. He thinks Goa is his property and all Goas are his Mundkars. If he thinks that way then we as Mundkars must fight for our rights and if we do so we will surely win because land to the tiller system is already in force. And secondly "roita tachem xeth and rauta tachem ghor" system is already in existence. Hence, "Bhattkarak mar konkear".
In Philipines thru the power of the Church and its priests the brute might of Ferdinand Marcos was destroyed. What is our Church and priests doing in Goa? Why have they failed to condemn Churchill and others for corrupting the Goan political life? Goan politicians are a source of sins in Goa, they are leading people to sinful life. Church must come forward and challenge all the sinful leaders who are promoting sins. It is the duty of Church and priests to oppose sin promoters in Goa. Otherwise Hell will be full of sinful Goans. Church's duty is to prevent souls from going into Hell.
Once again, I thank you Fr. Ivo for your compliments.
Mog Assundi.

Re: A. Veronica honored in Kuwait
Mr. A. Veronica Fernandes is my colleague in Kuwait Konknni Kendr. Konkani movement was his baby initiated and promoted by him with the help of his supporters. Being with him in these activities I know his dedication, hard work and sincerity for the cause of our mother tongue. Because he had these attributes Konkani movement was total successful in Kuwait. I always supported him because of his sincere dedicated work in the promotion of Konkani and that too selflessly. Being a great activist, he is capable of doing a lot of things. His eloquence, argumentation and discussion on Konkani are worth admiring. The establishment of Kuwait Konknni Kendr following the establishment of Konkani movement in Kuwait was his great achievement. He has brought highest honor to Konkani journalism by writing very good writings in different Konkani papers and magazines.
I wish Veronica all the very best and hope he will carry on with the good work he has done for the cause of Konkani. I am sure other organization will recognize his dedicated work in the promotion of Konkani and will award him with more awards which are instituted for Konkani promoters and fighters.

MOPA AND DABOLIM AIRPORTS.
In all probability Mopa Airport is coming, may be tomorrow or the day after tomorrow but certainly it is coming unless it is vehemently opposed by a mass movement. Churchill Alemao claimed that he saved Dabolim Airport and happy about it, so too his hired supporters. Is Dabolim Airport saved? And if yes, from whom? Dabolim Airport is as good as robbed by the Indian Navy after the exit of Portuguese from Goa and they will not surrender its claim over this beautiful and historical Airport. To retain its hold over Dabolim Airport, interested persons and authorities are pushing Mopa so that once Mopa is completed then Dabolim will have no need, as it is used now, for civilian air traffic. Those interested in having monopoly over Dabolim Airport are pushing the finalization of Mopa even, reportedly, by silencing of its opponents by bribing them to the extent of crores. For this reason, may be those who were earlier opposing Mopa are now singing hosannas of Mopa. Those who are now supporting Mopa say Dabolim Airport will be upgraded. Upgrading of Dabolim means not removing its hold from Navy. Once Mopa is finalized then Navy will be free to have full control over Dabolim. For a small place like Goa 2 Airports of international standard for civilian Aircrafts are not required. Mopa alone will succeed in doing justice for the entire Goa once it is commissioned.
Churchill Alemao claims that he did justice for Dabolim Aiport. Fine. But will Dabolim Aiport remain, as it is, always as per the thinking of Churchill Alemao? What is Churchill’s power over Government of India and Indian Navy? Is Churchill that powerful to shake the might of Indian Navy? What guarantee Churchill can give of tomorrow’s happenings? In India anything can happen and regarding this topic Dabolim will surely go into the hands of Navy exclusively. Challenging the might of Navy and that of Government of India is beyond Churchill. Hence, if anybody thinks Dabolim is saved forever by Churchill then that person is living in fools’ paradise. Dabolim will be saved for civilian aircrafts only if Mopa Airport project is dislodged from Goa and shelved it forever.
It is said that one can fool all the people some time, some people all the time but surely one cannot fool all the people at all the time. Our politicians must stop fooling the people. They have fooled us enough. I am happy that after the last Goa Assembly election and after the tamasha made by Churchill Alemao and his group of trying to form their own Government under Parrikar, people in Goa started thinking what is right and what is wrong, who is good and who is bad. Even in Kuwait, Goans have started to talk and express their views on Churchill, Parrikar, Babush and others who were trying to dislodge the Digambar Kamat Ministry. Now all are keeping silence except Churchill with regular “Thank you Churchill Alemao” paid announcements in Herald for saving Dabolim Airport. Once again I say as per my assessment that Dabolim is not saved by Churchill Alemao. On the contrary, by not opposing Mopa Airport, Dabolim for civilian aircrafts is brought to the cemetery for its silent burial.
R.I.P. Dabolim Airport for civilian aircrafts.

ZOR RODDTA PEZEK.
I was always under the impression that Churchill Alemao is a great lover of Goa, Goans and Goan causes. But now I am convinced that he is only interested in his personal and family benefits in the name of Goa and Goans. I was his strong supporter in Kuwait and from Kuwait as well. He made such a hue and cry to dethrone Digambar Kamat’s Ministry as if he is doing this for the love of Goa, Goans and Goan causes. But finally I came to know that all this tamasha he was doing only to get ministerial portfolio for him. The moment he got a berth in the Congress Ministry under Digambar Kamat whom he was trying to dislodge, he is become satisfied now. His cry earlier was only for “PEZ” which he got now and hence his “ZOR” has been cured. What a shame it is that our politicians have stooped to such ebb.
As if his love for Goa and Goans is infinite he piloted the movement to scrap the Mopa Airport but now he is telling something different. Was he bribed by the Congress Government at the Centre and Mopa Airport lobby into silence on Mopa? Is this man, is this politician to be trusted anymore by the people? And by the way, is he capable of doing anything good for the cause of Goa and Goans? He thinks since he was elected by the Navelim voters he is duty bound to take care of his constituency by ignoring other places. Churchill Alemao must know that once he is the minister then his duty is to take care of entire Goa and not Navelim only. He may be the elected MLA of Navelim but Minister appointed to look for whole of Goa. Once he is a minister he should not look into sectarian way. Good that his Save Goa Party got only 2 Seats otherwise he would destroy whole of Goa because in his mind runs nothing but destructive ideas and negative feelings for Goa, Goans and Goan causes though he pretends to be a strong lover of Goa, Goans and Goan causes and fooling Goans. He is not what he was. Earlier he had great love for Goa, Goans and Goan causes for this reason people like me blindly supported him and now we are repenting. Navelkars will also repent for electing him from their constituency.
Is Churchill Alemao inevitable for us the real lovers of Goa and Goan causes to carry on with our activities in support of Goa, Goans and Goan causes? History tells us we can ignore him and yet we can attain total success as we attained in the past. For Opinion Poll movement he was nowhere into the picture yet we won our battle against merger. Hence he got nothing to take credit for the success of “DON PANA”.
For Konkani movement success it was not Churchill Alemao responsible but it was KPA that spearheaded this movement and with the blood of Konkani martyrs. Even I as an observer from Kuwait was allowed to attend KPA meetings but not Churchill Alemao. If Konkani movement attained success it was only because of KPA with the blood of Konkani martyrs and because Churchill Alemao was not a part of KPA otherwise he would destroy KPA also for his personal gains. Konkani got recognition and thru it Statehood for Goa because of the sacrifices of the precious lives of all the Konkani Martyrs. No doubt Churchill Alemao individually worked hard for Konkani but we Kuwaitkars too have worked very hard for Konkani like many of our brothers and sisters in Goa. Churchill Alemao was not an architect of Konkani movement success neither of Konkani recognition nor of getting Statehood for Goa.
Churchill Alemao was nowhere into the picture of Save Goa Front movement to force the Rane Government to scrap the Regional Plan. The campaign for this was carried under the sincere and unselfish leadership of young Goan doctor Rebello. One of the reasons for the success of this movement was exclusion into this move of politicians including Churchill Alemao.
In 1990 when Kuwait was under the occupation of Iraq we Kuwaitkars came to Goa and organized a big movement in support of the liberation of Kuwait under Goa-Kuwait Solidarity Center and organized public Rallies and Meetings in which thousands participated. PDF Government of Churchill Alemao was ruling Goa at that time. Inspite of receiving some feelers to associate with us in support of our movement, we Kuwaitkars did not allow any politician to mingle with us, leave aside Churchill Alemao. On the contrary PDF Government of which Churchill Alemao was a part was against our movement and against me in particular for refusing them entry into our movement. Dr. Barbosa, J.B. Gonsalves and Churchill Alemao were critical of my attitude of not allowing them any foothold into our movement. Many were under the impression that by bringing in Churchill Alemao in our movement we will succeed but minus him we attained maximum success the echo of which reverberated all around the globe.
Now, when Goans organizing any movement they must do it without any assistance of Churchill Alemao. His chicanery on Mopa will be his downfall from the hearts of the people. By doing the volte-face on Mopa he robbed the people of the trust they had in him. This has surely fortified the hands of his opponent Luizinho Faleiro who will surely gain maximum benefits of the follies of his "Kumpar" who will commit one blunder after another because to make one lie as truth Churchill will have to create 10 lies and by that time he will be finished. People in Goa should not invite him for any function. People who really love Goa must refrain from attending his functions where he is attending as a chief guest or guest of honour. He should be treated as anti-Goan. Navelim voters must repent for electing such an unrealiable person.
Meantime, I am writing separately to Congress High Command and to Sonia Gandhi as well to select the right and appropriate candidate for the parliamentary byelection for South Goa. As a citizen of Goa I cannot remain silent on what is happening in Goa. It is my duty to inform the Congress High command about the Congress affairs in Goa. I have no faith in Margareth Alva either. Genuine lovers of Goa must flood Sonia Gandhi with letters to make correct choice for the Congress candidate in the coming byelection. These letters will surely have some effect as I have proved how my selected letters to her has benefited in the past for the good cause.

Ordhi Bhakri - revisited
Anil Kumar and Candido Araujo have once again teamed together to bring forth yet another old tiatr on stage and this time around it is ‘Ordhi Bakhri’ of Prem Kumar. The pair has the distinction of earlier staging two old shows of M. Boyer in the past viz., ‘Sounsar Sudhorlo’ and ‘Ekuch Rosto’. ‘Ordhi Bakri’ earlier written and directed by Prem Kumar 30 years ago is this time presented by Anil Kumar with a totally new cast. Anil Kumar a talented stage artist has taken pains to put forth a quality presentation. Except for the audio visuals and special effects, which Prem Kumar was much known for in his plays, Anil Kumar seems to have done a fairly good job with the direction and presentation getting the best out his entire cast. The play is not only engrossing but is also thought provoking with the script of the play being lucid and appealing. The narration is also something that keeps one guessing and involved in the plot till the very end.
‘Ordhi Bakri’ is a story of a poor tenant Jose (Anthony San) his simple and God fearing wife Rosa (Angela) and over ambitious Paul their adopted son, whom Jose always refers to as his brother. The actual relationship between Paul and Jose is revealed gradually in the play. Paul is pursuing his studies in Engineering and is based in Mumbai. It is Jose and his ever supportive and cooperative wife Rosa who with their meager means of income from agriculture try to make both ends meet and educate Paul to a degree in engineering. To their good luck there is the landlord (Anil Kumar) who is so very compassionate, generous, kind and loving in every way. A rare breed of landlords though, Anil Kumar is totally supportive to this poor couple in all their endeavors.
On the other hand Paul who is supposed to be studying in Mumbai for his engineering degree turns out to be a cheat and takes undue advantage of his simpleton brother Jose. Paul makes unreasonable demands for money with his brother Jose and spends it all on his lady love Nora. To win her heart he plays all sorts of tricks and goes to the extent of even telling her that his brother is a rich man and philanthropist who frequently shuttles around the world from Canada to Europe on business trips. The girl swallows everything without any doubt or suspicion and falls madly in love with him.
Back home in Goa Jose and his wife Rosa are not aware of the exploits of Paul in Mumbai. And they spare no efforts to meet all his monetary demands, hoping that he will become an engineer. The sad part is, Paul marries his love Nora without even informing Jose. On the other hand Jose tries to play this down and never finds any fault with Paul while the landlord is a little suspicious about the whole thing. Jose makes a forced visit to Mumbai on learning about Paul’s marriage. But the reception that Paul receives from his brother Paul in the absence of his wife is most unexpected. This is where the story takes a different turn and finally comes to its logical conclusion with many upheavals.
Nora later learns about the treatment meted out to Jose by Paul and sees through the game of chicanery played by Paul. She wows to teach him a lesson in life, and hatches a plan with the help of her sister Vera to put Paul in his rightful place. What is the plan that Nora hatches? And how does she execute it? What is the actual blood relationship between Jose and Paul? Who is this landlord who goes out of his way to even financially support this poor farmer couple? And why does he do so without any reservations? What is the fate of Paul after Nora learns about his double role? The answer to all these questions lead to the logical conclusion of the plot of ‘Ordhi Bakri’ and are all seen as the story moves ahead.
Anil Kumar deserves praise for his direction which is really good and appropriate to the plot. Besides his character acting too is flawless together with Angela who is so very natural and does full justice to the role of a poor farmer’s wife. Her dialogues and actions coordinate so very well to make this role really memorable. It maybe recalled this role was earlier played by the late Philomena. Anthony San who has stepped into the shoes of Prem Kumar has also given his best to bring the role of Jose very much near to the original. Well done Anthony. Mathew Araujo, has a sober role of the brother of Nora and Vera and he comes out well. So is Yvonne as Nora and the versatile Fatima as Vera is very natural in her demanding role. One artist who made the difference in the comedy role was a new face Maria in the role of a native Maharastrian Kamala. Her chaste Marathi was not only natural but also sounded pleasant to the ears. A good talent to the stage. Godwin who plays Paul has given a promising performance in a role that demands a lot of action and emotion too.
The tiatr has a flood of solos and badly lacks in a good duet. There’s one nice comedy trio by Anil-Succor-Fatima and one wished there was another offering with a political theme though. Among the solos, Xavier Almeida stands tall with his solo on Jack de Sequeira, Godwin enthralls with his solo ‘Pack of cards’ a really nice composition with a creative imagination, Anthony San with his pleasing voice is delightful in his soulful tribute to late Ulhas Buyao, Joaquim Cabral, S. Lemos, Soccoro de St. Cruz, comprise the other singers who render solos on varied topics.
Norman on the key boards, Maestro Josinho D’Souza on the Saxaphone, Agnelo Dias on the trumpet and ‘Paklo’ on the drums combine very well with the musical score which is of a high standard. The background music specially with a light Indian classical touch is pleasant and takes the narration of the plot to a different level. Norman does a lot of improvisations on the keyboard and adds punch to the music.
n.b.: this tiatr review is published in this weeks Goan Observer.

KUWAIT GOANS OPPOSE CASINOS IN GOA.
On behalf of myself and on behalf of all my like minded innumerable friends and colleagues I strongly oppose the Casino culture in Goa. Not only on River Sal but anywhere in Goa Casino should not be allowed. We from Kuwait in innumerable number strongly condemn the move of all who are involved in promoting this Casino culture in Goa. Casino culture if started will surely destroy the decent Goan culture and in its place induct in Goa a dirty culture. We from Kuwait hold the Goa Government under Digambar Kamat fully responsible for facilitating Casino culture in Goa. We from Kuwait in large number join every individual and every organisation that oppose Casinos in Goa in supporting their campaign.

Ethics of Goans in Kuwait
Further to my below mentioned clarification, I would like to bring to your kind notice that all those responsible for circulating the fake apology in my name up to now have not apologized for their mistake, even though I have made it known that I did not apologise to anyone and the apology that came in my name was a fake written by a fake person.
I feel all those responsible for forwarding and circulating the fake apology (by an unknown person) in my name are duty bound to show their true character as gentlemen by apologizing openly. If they are real sons and real daughters of their real fathers then they will accept their mistake openly the way they have openly circulated the fake apology in their names without doing proper scrutiny.
They should have realized that, if at all I apologise I will do so only in goa-kranti and nowhere else because the review that I wrote on Black e-film was only, I repeat, only in goa-kranti and nowhere else, not even in Arab Times where it came, again in my name written by a fake person.
http://goa-kranti.blogspot.com would have been an appropriate forum for me to apologise if an apology was warranted but surely not the way it was initiated and then circulated by some miscreants who lacked ethics. Unfortunately this is the quality of some of our people who are responsible for disgracing the image of our community.
After going thru this post, I hope Goans spread all around the globe would come to know the character of our people in Kuwait. First by sending fake email, second by circulating it without giving a thought and third by keeping silence over this as if it did not affect anyone of them. Them means whom? Them means those who think I am criticizing Goans unnecessarily.
Yes, I am criticizing. Criticizing which Goans? I am criticizing those Goans who disgrace the fair image of Goans. If we do not put an end to the disgraceful Goans then the disgraceful Goans will put an end to us.
It is my request to all Goans to condemn those responsible in circulating the fake apology in my name. This fake apology did not damage me. But it damaged the image of Goans in Kuwait and the character of all who circulated it.
If I want I can publish volumes of some of the culprits in this episode but I leave it to them to decide the better course.
Using fake names in expressing one's view is the job of cowards. It is a pity that some of our people are cowards to face me openly and boldly by identifying their true identities.
