DEFEAT OF BJP’s DR. MESQUITA
This is to express my extreme delight over the humiliating defeat of Dr. Wilfred Mesquita of BJP in the just concluded election for the South Goa Parliamentary Seat. I don’t know personally Dr. Mesquita and I don’t hate him either as a man but surely I hate him for being a BJP man when he knew how communal BJP is. Such Mesquitas should be punished in the election contests by the voters so that they learn a very good lesson of their lifetime. How daringly and shamelessly he contested on the symbol of BJP is beyond my comprehension when he considered himself as a secular and anti-communal. No person can call himself a secular and anti-communal with a BJP badge on his shirt. By virtue of wearing the cap of BJP one has to be a communal and Dr. Wilfred Mesquita is a communal and being a communal he his anti-Christian. Those who support and associate with BJP are making the life of minorities difficult especially of Christians in Goa. BJP wants to destroy minorities and burn their places of worship. By alligning with BJP, Dr. Wilfred Mesquita supported the enemies of minorities and Christians especially.
With this defeat I feel Parrikar as a chief of Goa BJP unit should not only resign from the party but he must also go into oblivion. He should not take secularists for granted. He has especially chosen a Christian Dr. Mesquita for South Goa Seat not because BJP likes Christians but just to fool Christians. If BJP and MGP do really love Christians and they are really secular then why they not give North Goa Seat to a Christian? It is very good that South Goa electors have given a very befitting defeat to BJP. I hope Dr. Mesquita at least now will learn his lesson properly. By flirting with communal parties like BJP and MGP and changing parties very often Dr. Mesquita has brought shame not only on his reputed profession but also on his religion too which forbids chicanery. I hope Central command of BJP will force Parrikar to resign from the leadership that he is holding in Goa of its unit. Parrikar’s chickanery by now has already been exposed. He is not a man of truth and as such cannot be relied upon. People in Goa have lost their confidence in him For the sake of power he will even sell his marbles for this reason he associated with a conglomerate of disparate parties and desperate MLA’s including Churchill Alemao to form his Government by dethroning Digambar Kamat. With this defeat Parrikar era should come to an end. I feel it is time for him to say bi-bi.
While hailing the defeat of Dr. Mesquita I don’t show my happiness either over the victory of Sardinha. It was expected but not with such a small margin. That he got so little votes shows that voters have elected him only to defeat BJP with the necessary majority and not because they liked him. In fact Goa has been looted more by the Congressmen including by Sardinha and because he wanted to loot Goa he defected from Congress and with the help of BJP crooks formed his anti-Congress Government of “Chors” and “Bamttes”. I don’t expect anything extra ordinary from Sardinha in the parliament. He is not meant to swim in the ocean. He is a "kochro" in Indian Parliament. He is purely a regional man good for Goa level but since he was selected by the Congress party to teach a good lesson to Churchill Alemao by rejecting his daughter’s candidature, Sardinha got a chance. During his current tenure in Parliament Sardinha will not create any effect of his presence in parliament except he will think of “Dhirio” like a "dhiriancho paddo", as if this is the only important subject of Goan interest. Unfortunately this is the quality of our MP’s and MLA’s who are disgracing the fair image of Goans.
What surprised me during this election and preceding it is this that the total neutral stands taken by our Church. I was expecting a strong circular from Altinho advising all the faithfuls in South Goa to reject BJP by rejecting Dr. Mesquita. But, no, Bishop Palace at Altinho was silent over this issue thereby confusing Catholic voters many of whom like young Hamlet were indecisive about whom to vote expecting some guidance from the leadership of our Church. And in the bargain many among those who voted for Dr. Mesquita were from Catholic segment. It is now proved beyond doubt that our Church is unable to give us a proper leadership. In the past clandestinely it supported BJP and due to these double standards no proper Catholic will trust our Church and its leadership. Faithfuls must now judge the true colours of our Church. This is disgusting. I condemn this neutral posture of our Church. We Catholics in Goa have suffered, suffering and will suffer only because of the weak leadership provided by our Church.
