The very moment when I
saw early in the morning at about 5.30, the unwanted and uninvited Indian Millitary
convoy consisting of about 100 military vehicles passing by our side in
Candolim, on the main Road going to Aguada, on the 18th of December
1961, I realized the end of Goa is coming closer. It was a very terrible shock for me to see
the arrival of Indian Millitary Troops well-fortified with Military equipment
to throw out the Portuguese rulers from Goa thereby kicking the Principle of
Non-Violence India was boasting of as it is their baby and at the same time harping
all around the globe on Non-violence. That Nehru was such a traitor worse than
the Judas was exposed when under his leadership India discarded the principle
of Non-violence and made use of the doctrine of Violence just as Hitler did to
invade country after country, and invaded Goa. Throwing out Portuguese either
today or tomorrow was ok because they had to go from Goa either peacefully or
thru Military force since Goa does not belong to them. Neither Goa belonged to India, Goa belonged
to Goans whose ancestry is deep rooted in Goa.
Goa does not belong to some “ghantee” type of people from the
neighbouring areas settled down in Goa and who were fighting thru all means to merge Goa with Maharastra because their
ancestry was deeply rooted in Maharastra. These are bloody “Rostad Bhaile” who
came to Goa not only in the pre-Portuguese era but also in the post Portuguese
era.
Since Goa belonged to
the genuine Goans it should remain as independent nation into the hands of Goans
if not then at least as an autonomous entity enjoying greater freedom as Macao
or Pondicheri and not more or less like slaves, as we are now. By grabbing and
swallowing Goa, Bharat serkar of Nehru totally cheated us. I, then only
realized what was the policy of Central government, that is to liquidate the
existence of Goa geographically so that the issue of forcibly invading of Goa
will disappear from the minds of some people and some nations who still accuse
India of committing a big mistake by forcibly annexing Goa.
In order to liquidate
the existence of Goa, the Opinion Poll was held and it was expected at that
time that mergerites will win the Opinion Poll in their favour and thus Goa
will be merged with Maharastra as a District.
And Maharastra having full control over Goa they might have even deleted
the name of Goa and name it as the District of Shambazi or Vasudevji. But to
their utter surprise and also due to the exceptionally dynamic work and high
level of sacrifices done by the genuine Goans, we Goans won the victory in that
most memorable Opinion Poll where overwhelming majority say 99% of Christians +
25% of upper level Hindus voting gainst merger.
But still our enemies
from Delhi are not satisfied, they want to squeeze us more and more by
converting us Goans in our own Goa as non entities by changing the
demographic structure of Goa by allowing
more and more non-Goans especially the third grade ones from Karnataka,
Maharastra, Bihar, Andra etc. These unwanted many of them are disgraceful,
robbers, rowdies, criminals and dirty vice infected non-Goan are increasing and
multiplying in Goa. They come to Goa with the bare minimum
professional experience to do the necessary job as Elelctricians, Plumbers,
Tailors, Carpenters and such other manual jobs which fetch them 600 to 1000
rupees a day as remuneration.
If we allow this
further then we as Goans we will be finished from our Goa. In order not to see this happening, first of
all we must introduce our children who are not interested in going for higher professional education, to
the Crash Courses in all the trades and
let our children then start their own business in their respective trades. In
this way, instead of patronizing outsiders and allowing them to bring their
people more and more, we should patronize our own Goans. If we go ahead with
this suggestion, I think our young boys could make much more money than what
they are doing currently in UK, Gulf and Tarvar.
Further to the above
suggestion of mine, I have decided to
contact some of our retired men professional in their trade in the Gulf,
Bombay and elsewhere to impress upon them to start their own small Workshops in
their own houses in one of their rooms and provide their services in a trade
where they have thorough knowledge. In
my village I already found one patriotic Goan retired from the Gulf and in Goa
he already embarked on providing services such as repairing and installing of
Airconditioners and other related services. Besides, he provides many other
services as indicated in his Visiting Card shown above. On my own of initiative and with his
permission I am doing his propaganda thru this forum to inform our Goans to
patronize his business. I will also do
the same if I find any other suitable forum elsewhere. It is not the question
of what and how much I will get by doing this propaganda but it is the question
whether our Goanness will get aroused and Goykar as a whole will gain. This is
only my reward. Now summer season is
approaching and many Goans have equipped their houses with Aircondioners. If Goans are real Goans, If Goans are true
sons and daughters of true Goans then they will support this message of mine by supporting the Goan businessmen. The name of
