The recent fist fight between Goa’s current Cabinet Minister Jose Philip D’Souza and former Cabinet Minister Mickey Pacheco at Vasco is just a trailer of the events to come before the next Goa Assembly Election. It was the most disgusting news in the history of post December 1961 Goa. Once Jagdish Rao of UG tried to assault Calangute constituency MLA Valente Sequeira for defecting to Bandodkar’s MG but the ugly fight in Vasco disgraced the calibre of both the fighters. Instead of giving good example of them, both Mickey and Philip acted like ruffians, especially the latter taking law into his own hands. From this incident what good one can expect from our current politicians? Are such people worthy of Cabinet rank and hold ministerial positions and their Seats in the Assembly? Those voters who voted them to Goa Assembly must put their heads down in shame. If they had any shame they would demand resignations from both the politicians who think Goa is their fathers’ property.
In order to protect their Seats and influence in their respective constituencies these people will even commit crimes either directly thru them or thru their supporters as it happened in Vasco when Philip pushed his “goondas” against Mickey, his car and Hotel too. Philip asked Mickey “Why did you enter in my area, Vasco?” Is Vasco belonged to Philip? Does Mickey need Philip’s permission to enter Vasco? However bad Mickey may be but Philip’s action is most disgraceful. It was pure brute might he used. How such persons will protect the safety of citizens in Goa when they themselves are acting as criminals? In order to protect and retain their Seats, politicians will do anything, even doling their females to their bosses because they know that without political power they are like Fish out of water. Once in Panjim Goa I have noticed how MLAs were crying while coming out of the Secretariat after dissolving the Assembly abruptly and suddenly.
There are lot of stories circulating saying how politicians are doling their wives and daughters with Suit Cases filled with money to the High Command in Delhi. High Command wants only Money and Sex otherwise High Command dethrone the current MLAs & Ministers. Hence to protect their ‘Kodel’, active politicians doles their wives and daughters with huge amount of money to the personnel looking after the High Command.
If Philip used his physical power to finish Mickey it was nothing extraordinary. Like this Philip we have plenty other Philips too and to protect their power base they will do anything to destroy their opponents. What has happened in Vasco was just a tip of an iceberg. Goa will face worst scenes in the near future. If just for Municipalty election such a big commotion then what wil be the case when eection for Goa Legislative Assembly comes?
I feel pity for Mickey Pacheco who had to face such a disgrace in the absence of Cabinet Rank. If he had Cabinet Rank as earlier I doubt Philip and his goondas would dare attack Mickey Pacheco. Mickey Pacheco henceforth must control his moves because now not only political heavyweights will assault him but even lightweight ordinary persons. Mickey’s weakness is now clearly exposed. He will have to pay the price for the sins he committed earlier when power was flowing from his earings.
