THE TALLEST MAN IN GOA.

It is a book on the late Fr. Bismarque Dias, written by Sudeep Dalvi and it is going to be released on Gandhi Jayanti Day,  i.e. on 2^nd October 2016 in Panjim at Institute Menezes Bragnza Hall, next to Police Station, at 4.30 PM.  Since Fr. Bishmarque is a great follower of Gandhian principles, it is going to be just right for the author to release this book on this date. The book is priced at Rs.150/-

According to the author Sudeep Dalvi, it is a well researched book on his guru giving lot of information  so far not disclosed elsewhere by anyone on the life and death of Fr. Bismarque Dias.

This book is going to be released thru the hands of the renowned environmentalist and activist Claude Alvares who is also involved like Fr. Bismarque Dias in protecting the nature. 

To print and to publish this book, Sudeep Dalvi must have spent lot of money from his own pocket.  Since Fr. Bismarque is a man  who fought for Goan causes and died for the same, it is now our duty as Goans  to support the author of this book by purchasing this book so that the author recovers his expenses and what extra he gets he, as promised, utilizes for funding the ongoing case in the court to get justice to Fr. Bismarque.

While alive and in death, people used Fr. Bismarque and his name to get them benefits, especially Tiatrists to sing songs on him to get popularity and money too.  It is time now for all of them to come for the book release function and purchase this book.  The Tiatro “QUESTIONMARK" became a hit only because of the incident shown on Fr. Bismarque.  It would have been nice on the part of Francis de Tuem  if he stages one Show in aid of Fr. Bismarque fund to finance the court case which cost lot of money.

JUDGEMENT OF SCARLETT MURDER CASE.

The judgement on the murder of British young girl of 15, Scarlett at Anjuna 8 years back, was finally delivered 4 days back and both the accused in this murder case were acquitted. With this acquittal, one more murder was committed on the justice in Goa. The question now comes to my mind is this:  Who then is responsible for drugging – sexually abusing and killing Scarlett? Is this the way to give proper justice in Goa? Thru this unjust judgement more and more murderers will move forward to commit more and more such heinous murders because they will come out Scott free due to our faulty investigation and weak judiciary. If both the accused were innocent then why in the first place were they arrested? Without fire there is no smoke.

Are our beaches become so dangerous for tourists to move freely?

Gone were the days when our beaches from Candolim to Anjuna were a mode of promenade even in the nights, not only for the males but for females too. I still remember in early sixties when Hippies first time landed in Candolim, they were freely moving from one end to the other, males and females,  semi nude without any fear of oglers and molesters because those were the glorious days of traditional Goan tourism.

When Scarlett was killed many foreigners in Kuwait asked me, “are your golden beaches so dangerous for tourists to come to Goa?” Because of Scarlett case many foreigners stopped coming to Goa thereby affecting the economic growth of Goan tourism.  I am certain that gradually the sinful Goan tourism industry will collapse as it happened elsewhere and many among those solely depended on this industry will fall on the road. 

Those who delivered the judgement on Scarlett’s murder and those who investigated this case should feel guilty for not doing their jobs properly because of which the guilty were left scott free thus making a mockery of our judiciary.

May the young soul of young Scarlett rest in peace and may God give her mother courage to bear this colossal loss and also courage to accept the faulty judgment.

PROPOSE INDEPENDENT SOVEREIGN KASHMIR..

--NO PLANS IN THIS REVOLUTION ARE  

The recent Pakistani terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir at Uri where 19 Indian Army Jawans were killed, makes me to realise that India at least as a matured nation must start a strong move without feeling hurt, to make sacrifice for attaining a lasting peace in this turbulent sector.

When India attained independence in 1947, Kashmir was ruled by the Maharaja Hari  Sing who opted to remain independent by not joining India nor Pakistan.  He was a Hindu while majority of his subjects were Muslims among whom most inclined towards Islamic Pakistan.  Shortly within 3 months, restless and opportunist Pakistan sent its tribal people (marauders)  to grab Kashmir when Maharaja Hari  Sing pleaded with Nehru to come to his rescue to save Kashmir from falling into the hands of Pakistan.  Just like what he did in Goa, Nehru sent Indian military to Kashmir and in the ensuing war, Pakistan managed to capture 40% of Kashmir which is still in its possession while 60% is held by India.

Then with the initiative of Nehru, this problem was entrusted with UNO to settle.  UNO proposed plebiscite after withdrawing the troops from Kashmir by both the countries, starting first by Pakistan which Pakistan failed to do. Since this was the case, there was no plebiscite and thus stalemate occurred because of which lot of enmity and bloodbath going on between the two countries  where China strongly supports Pakistan.  While India fighting Pakistan,  China is giving a helping hand to Pakistan. As long as China is with Pakistan, India will never be able to dictate its terms to Pakistan. In this issue India is also facing besides nuclear power Pakistan, Hydrogen Power China. This means mighty India is facing an Himalayan task because of a small sector of Kashmir and by the way how long India will face this task?  Is there no solution for this problem? 

Pakistan is a rough nation that does not understand decency, to kill India, Pakistan is ready to die but is India ready for it?  Surely not.  Because of this small place Kashmir, India is losing so much in men, materials and money thus affecting Indian economy and security.  Pakistan will never stop this war it waged against India thru remote control for the sake of Kashmir. India should not make this as a prestige issue, to attain permanent peace, India must first condescend.

In view of this, I feel for peace to prevail, India must propose to have independent sovereign Kashmir comprising Indian and Pakistani Kashmir.

PAKISTAN - INDIA -KASHMIR.

The attack in Uri near Baramullah in Jammu and Kashmir on 18^th of this month surely deserves highest condemnation and where 19 Indian Army Jawans were killed in cold blood by the Pakistani backed terrorists though Pakistan may deny its involvement.  I am sure without Pakistani hand directly or indirectly no such terrorist attack can come on Indians. 

It is a hard fact that Pakistan will never give peace to India since Pakistan was born only to destroy Hindu India.  It is surprising to know that still in Pakistan a large number of Pakistanis believe that India means totally Hindu dominated country where there is no place for Islam to survive and Muslims to live. The founding fathers of Pakistan were under the firm belief that Hindus in India will never give them peace in India, for this reason as Poet Iqbal proposed a separate political entity for Indian Muslims was imperative.  In fact the major pillar of the   initiator of Pakistan, Mohammed Ai Jinnah once told Gandhiji directly on his face that “I don’t trust Nehru and others to get justice for Muslims in India tough I trust you because there is  only one Gandhi in India (who is secular by core) and that is YOU (Gandhiji).

The partition time atrocities committed by Hindus and Sikhs on Indian Muslims especially on Muslim women, as reported by the Pakistani Muslims, are still creating a chilling effect on Muslims not only from Pakistan and India but also on all around the globe. The defeat India inflicted on Pakistan in East Pakistan by creating an independent country Bangladesh is the worst humiliation for Pakistanis.  As a revenge for both the above incidents, Pakistanis are teaching India, to quote their term “a very good retaliatory lesson”  thru the spread of terrorism in India by using Jammu and Kahsmir as base.

Pakistan is fighting its proxy war with India thru Kashmiri freedom fighters who are desperately trying to free their land from India and in this fight they are immensely supported by the Pakistani government just as India did in Goa during Portuguese rule by sending terrorist type of Indians to Goa in the garb of freedom fighters to create chaos in Goa. 

Whether it is right or wrong, the dispute between India and Pakistan will never come to an end unless the Kashmir issue is settled peacefully according to the wishes of Pakistan and whether India agrees to this or not is a different matter.  Pakistan is fighting its proxy war with India as Jihad that means they are fighting it in the name of their religion where they are ready to sacrifice anything dearest to them. 

Pakistan does not mind suffering any amount of disasters but is India ready for the same? India is too decent and too civilized country to follow in the footsteps of Pakistan.  Hence, India will have to do some sort of sacrifice to remove the thorn from its body by settling the Kashmir issue peacefully.  Because of one small disputed area Kashmir India is suffering too much and too long.  Going to the war with Pakistan similar to East Pakistan is impossible unless India wants to commit suicide.  I hope better sense will prevail.

While our Jawans were dying our Defence Minister was busy in Goa concentrating on forming the strategy for the coming election. Will Parricar as Defence Minister do justice for his job?  Is he fit to be there in the first place?  Will he be another disgraceful Krishna Menon who as Defense Miister failed India against China in 1962?  Surely it looks like.

IS CONGRESS R.I.P.?.

According to the latest news in Goa’s political scenario, the present Congress MLA from Cumbharjua, Pandurang Madkaikar is likely to defect to MGP though according to him he also received offer from BJP.  The way he speaks of receiving offers it looks these offers are from soccer clubs where players are free to join any club of their choice.  Madkaikar speaks as if he is irresponsible Congressman having joined Congress  only to fulfil his personal ambition of becoming a Minister and since he is out of Power during one full term he feels frustrated like many Congressmen because they are fake Congressmen joined Congress Party only to enhance their personal ambitions.

However, I have to admire Madkaikar for speaking his mind rightly and boldly when he said “The Congress leadership is in a stage of hibernation and does not want to move.  They have no plan to tackle the opposition and form the government”.    The current leadership of Congress Party in Goa is absolutely in the hands of inefficient person who is impotent to revive the hope of the Party. This leadership will not mind even if the party is totally routed in the coming election.  From the present mood of the party it looks Congress Party has already surrendered in defeat. Precisely because of this mood some elected Congressmen are clandestinely working out their strategy to defect to either MGP or BJP from where they came.  It will be like “Ghar Wapsi” for them.

Madkaikar was right when he said that “Congress should desist from giving tickets to old faces” and if I am permitted to add more, “also to the defeated candidates”.  These two segments will hurry the Congress defeat in Goa. The current leadership of Congress is not interested in promoting party’s interest because of the sacrileges this party has committed against Goa and Goans especially with the active support and connivance of the current leadership.  Mopa, Casinos, Illegal Mining etc. are the creations of Congress Party. Luisin Faleiro is unfit leader to save Congress from the current rot. He got no leadership qualities in him nor in his genes.  He cannot resurrect Congress from drowning. It is going to be a big blow on all the supporters of Congress.

However, unless drastic action is taken, the fate of Congress Party in the coming election is very bleak for which the total responsibility will fall on the shoulders of the current leadership in Goa and also on High Command in Delhi that is least bothered on Goa.

TIATRO "BOROINAR" BY TOMAZINHO CARDOSO.

On 14^th of this month, under Kala Mogi, Candolim, once well known Tiatrist Tomazinho Cardoso, staged his Tiatro “BOROINAR” at Kala Academy Hall, Panjim, starting at 7.00 PM.  This was of a group “A” of this year’s, 42^nd Tiatro Competition.  Though free tickets were given to some of the attendees yet the Hall was not full contrary to the earlier trend whence Tomazinho Cardoso’s Tiatro means automatic Houseful.  

Opening song - a Trio on 125 years of Tiatro

The story is not an extra ordinary as otherwise staged but a simple one based on buying of the  Tiatro Script by someone and staging it in his name.  It is nothing but selling of Tiatro script. This trend is common in Goa.  

About 40 years back similar Tiatro was staged by Thomas de Candolim and it was very well accepted by the audience in Bombay, its title was "Boroinar & Director". 

All the artistes performed their roles very well including the comedians.

A trio song on Dev Dhorom

In the Side Show songs, Tomazinho Cardoso stole the show in his songs namely a duet, a Trio and an excellent Quartet on FC Goa.  This type of songs should be rendered a hundred times all over Goa to educate the Goans of the chicanery of the current owner of FC Goa and his real intention in grabbing FC Goa from Goan owners.

CANDOLIM MONTEIROS CHAPEL FEAST. CELEBRATED ON 15.09.16.

The village Candolim in Bardez Goa is known to produce great men not only of Goa but even of the World.  Abade Faria the World renown Hypnotist was born in this village at Pintos Vaddo, so too the great Catholic Priests, Pintos who spearheaded the Pintos Revolt against the Portuguese rule in Goa much before the French Revolution. Another great son of Goa and the renown Goan Lawyer of last century who rattled the Portuguese government under Salazar, Antonio Bruto Da Costa was born in Candolim only at Pintos Vaddo again.

Monteiros Chapel "Our Lady of Remedios".

The two families in Candolim, namely Faria’s and Pinto’s were prominent famiies that created history by giving birth to the great sons of Goa who played very important roles in their life.

The third family that yet again gave birth to the two great sons of Candolim, namely Dr. Gustavo Monteiro and his younger brother Monsg. Francisco Monteiro popularly known as Pe. Chico Monteiro, was the Monteiro family.  Dr. Gustavo Monteiro born on 11.04.19i5 and died on 28.03.1985, during his lifetime was the most prominent son of this village playing eminent role in all segments of Candolim like, Communidade as its president, Confraria, Social, Political, Sporting mainly in the promotion of soccer etc.  He had the unique distinction of being the member of Goa Legislative Council (equivalent of current Goa Legislative Assembly) during the  colonial rule.  Additionally, he held the presidency of Goa Football Association for about 30 years, joining GFA durng Portuguese rule and even paying a goodwill visit to Portugal.  In prominence and in popularity Candolim village is yet to give birth to another person like him.

Dr. Gustao Monteiro being a very prominent doctor gaining trust of his patients coming everyday in a big number not only from Candolim  but even from the  neighbouring and other distant places, was also a great philanthropist whose charitable work remained hidden to a great extent following his religious code – your left hand should not know what your right hand gave. 

The village Candolim cannot forget his contribution in the promotion of football starting from 1955 approximately when almost single handedly he formed Candolim soccer team comprising the magnificent footballers namely Cheddo brothers – Cheddo & Jose Marie, Machado Brothers – Andrew & Babazinho, Kamal Brothers - Kamal – Madhu & Satchit, Bushan, Baba Naik, Tony Call and others.  Additionally thru his personal efforts, Dr. Monteiro got the services of 4 ace Pakle footballers from Aguada to play for Candolim team which  within a very short time jumped into Primeira Divisao.  Such a dream team never came again and unlikely to come.  This all happened because of the personal efforts  put in by Dr. Monteiro both as financier as well as guide and mentor of the team.

Besides, Dr. Gustavo Monteiro has gifted the Candolim football ground to Candolim Panchayat which was later on named after him. It was Dr. Monteiro who laid the strong base for Candolim soccer which is still flourishing.

The Monteiros Palatial House was built in 1603 where it has housed till now 29 generations starting from Diogo Monteiro and produced 8 Priests, Pe. Chico Monteiro being the last one whose stance that he is the citizen of Goa and not of India nor of Portugal rattled the Indian government after Goa was forcibly invaded by India on 19.12.1961.  Advocate Gardiner came all the way from London to defend Pe. Chico as per the International  Law.  This was the rare and the only case of international ramification where the son of Monteiros created international uproar from Goa.  For many years from 1962 Pe. Chico spent his time in the promotion of sporting activities among the local boys namely in Football, Volleyball, Table Tennis and even Wrestling.  In fact somewhere in 1966 he organized a competitive contest in Wrestling in their compound where prominent Wrestlers from the locality and beyond participated.

Coming back to Dr. Gustao Monteiro, his tradition has been handed over to his elder son Dr. Jose Monteiro who is the prominent medical practitioner in the entire locality gaining full confidence of the patients coming in large number every day to his Consulting Room which was earlier used by his father.  Dr. Jose Monteiro is practicing medicine during the last forty years with distinction just like his father from whom he received the Baton which is also now passed on to his youngest daughter,  Dr. Ana Soraya Monteiro who besides being employed at GMC  Bambolim, has just appeared for her MD examination;  she is the third doctor in the Monteiro family besides having her brothr-in-law as yet another doctor who is currently  a  Cancer specialist,  Dr. Jean Luis Menezes. The only son of Dr. Jose, Adv. Gustavo Monteiro – LLB/LLM is a practising Lawyer based in Panjim while Dr. Jose’s wife Marina D. Monteiro is a Professor at St. Xaviers College, Mapusa - Microbiology Department and was  earlier occupying the post of Vice Principal of the College.

The month of September is always a special month for the Monteiro family and to the Catholics of this area because the Chapel attached to the Monteiro’s Mansion is named after Our Lady of Remedios whose feast is celebrated on 15^th of this month every year.  This Chapel was built  in 17^th century by the family priest Pe. Jose Monteiro to cater to the spiritual needs of the  Catholics from the surrounding areas who flock there every Sunday for the Mas at 5.00 PM. The maintenance and upkeep of the Chapel is done by Dr. Jose Monteiro without asking any contribution from the faithful, not even Tray Collection. This Chapel serves the large number of faithful not only from that area but also from beyond.

NEW TIATRO “DEVAK DHIUM-IA ARGAM" BY ULHAS TARI.”

Yesterday at Kala Academy Panjim Hall, I saw the new Tiatro “DEVAK DHIUM--IA ARGAM” written and directed by the well know artiste Ulhas Tari who during his last quarter of century acting in Tiatros has gained very good name and fame for him as one of the best stage artistes like that of yesteryears great Tiatrists.  The Tiatro was attended by the full house and the main play was very  well scripted and well enacted by all the artistes namely the director Ulhas Tari and as his wife by Rosy Alvares who were ably supported by Rosario de Benaulim and Philpe Almeida as their two sons, so also by the majestic looking Roma as daughter and charming Antonette de Maina as daughter-in-law.  The role of son-in-law played by Tari – brother of Ulhas Tari was excellent.

Since the Tiatro is still in its infancy, I decline to disclose fully the contents of the story but disclose here that it was a very good family story where the parents are ignored when they attained their old age by their sons but well looked after by their daughter and her husband.  For this reason the father – Ulhas Tari  – invokes the name of the God saying we must “ DEVAK DHIUM-IA ARGHAM”.

All the Cantos of the Play were good, a few of them were excellent especially the sorrowful ones rendered by Rosy Alvares with her sweet melodious voice.  It was she who brought an extra colour to these otherwise colourful Cantos of which type we rarely hear now-a-days in our Tiatros.

Though the play was excellent in all respects but Side Show songs was not up to the mark with the exception of two excellent songs, one by mighty singer Francis de Tuem on Soccer in Goa and the other by Rose Ferns on Konkani and the ongoing controversy regarding the MOI.

In his professorial researched song, Francis de Tuem yet again proved to the audience and to everyone why he is adored by the people.  Such researched songs earlier were rendered by Alexinho de Candolim, Alfred Rose, M. Dod de Verna, Remie J. Colaco and M. Boyer.  With number of encores, Francis de Tuem once again proved that his number one  spot on the Konkani Stage is unshakened and will remain so for a long time to come.  His quarter with Lawry Travasso-Marcus Vaz-Xavier Gomes was another item which deserve highest compliments.

The other solo rendered by mighty director and script writer Rose Ferns was too good especially now during the crisis time of language issue. It was very well rendered with perfect clarity.

The other songs deserve mention here are the solos of Marcus Vaz, Xavier Gomes and Peter de Benaulim and the duet by Tony de Ribandar with Roma.

The comedy part was not much to be appreciated though a section of the audience enjoyed  it because they love statements with double meaning and vulgarity. 

A quarter by Xavier-Marcus-Lawry-Tuem

Durig those good old days, the gigantic comedians namely Kid Boxer, Anthony Mendes, Jacinto Vaz, Champion Peter, Jepsis Hitler and Greg de Candolim never lowered themselves to make the audience laugh with cheap and vulgar comedy.  In fact they rarely uttered vulgar words in their mouth even in their private life because they had at least most of them, very good family background and character though they may not be coming from financially affluent family background.

Just because so and so comedy and so and so statements are common in Bollywood Films that does not mean we also should follow their path.  Our culture demands that we should confine within our own areas.  What I noticed in most of our comedians is that they lacked basic family education to build their character. They lacked proper parental guidance to follow the right path of discipline.  Worst part of all this is that some of the so called ace directors are also guilty of this nonsense. If our guardians and leaders are not good then how we will build the good society? It is a sad news that some of our directors are slaves of some of our vulgar and filthy comedians.

Congratulations to Ulhas Tari because you have played your captain's inning very well in your maiden Tiatro.  I wish you all the best in your future such endeavour.

REJECT TOPIWALAS FROM DELHI IN THE NEXT ELECTION.

Somewhere in early seventies when the renown Goan  journalist Frank Moraes The Editor in Chief of Indian Express was transferred to London as its correspondent by Indian Express, to a question by the Illustrated Weekly of India during his interview asking him, “what difference you found between pre and post Independent India, replied Moraes thus, “During European Raj we were made to adore the white skin and now we do the same for the white Delhi Topi”.

During Moraes time there  was only one white  Topi referring to Congress Topi but now we have one more white Topi of AAP. Besides these two, we have one more Topi of multicolour of BJP, this Topi changes its colour according to the need of the hour.  Hence t his Topi is most unreliable and those who wear this Topi are most dangerous persons.  All these three Topiwalas having their central command in Delhi if elected to rule Goa, will decide on Goan issues from Delhi just like Lisboa used to do during Salazar regime.  Is it worth to entrust our issues into the hands of people beyond our borders who do not have any knowledge of Goan issues properly?

We drove away Salazarist regime because we did not want outside interference in our affairs from Lisboa but will it be correct on our part to allow Delhi Topiwalas to decide what is good and what is bad for us?  If yes, then where is our freedom to decide our fate? As it is, the way Salazar government  of Lisboa rejected our wishes in the same manner BJP government of Delhi Salazar rejected our wish of Special Status for Goa even after promising the same for us. Under premier Modi, the BJP government is the government of the Liars and it will always lie us.  Hence, we must reject BJP in the coming election.

In view of this, I feel in the coming election we must prefer those parties having their high command in Goa only.  One Topiwalas after ruling Goa for so many years have destroyed Goa and the second Topiwalas are like Hamlet, to be or not to be,  still indecisive on RP, Casinos, MOI and Special Status. Can we trust such outfits?  These are the AAP Topiwalas whose MLA’s in Delhi are fully immersed in corruption and Sex scandal.  Goans must reject them too otherwise they will turn Goa into another Delhi of sins and vices.

TIATRO "ANSWER" BY CONCEPTION DE TUEM.

Opening Scne

On 7^th of this month at Kala Academy Hall, Panjim, starting  at 7.40 PM, I saw the controversial Tiatro “ANSWER” written and directed by Conception de Tuem.  The attendance number was good but not full as some empty chairs were easily noticeable.

Everybody is aware how  much the heat has been generated thru this Tiatro in Goa  especially in Tiatro world.  Though I am not putting more light on reviewing it since so much has been written on it earlier by the media but I must say that this Tiatro is the most provocative and scandalous.  Though directly it does not refer to anyone but indirectly one can easily deduce ones conclusion.

Solo on Jr. Rod

Though some of the incidents indicated in this Tiatro are difficult to absorb yet its authenticity is doubtful.  The  character assassination of one female done in this Tiatro is not good. I don’t know what pleasure the writer and director derived by doing this.  Even in the hall among the audience I noticed most of the hoi-polloi type of audience were enjoying the character assassination in this Tiatro. It was meant for cheap audience who enjoy cheap story.  

Conception solo

Thru this Tiatro one thing one can notice, that is, there are two factions or may be more among the Tiatrists;  One faction comprising some prominent and seasoned Tiatrists who are adored by the audience while the other faction consists of new comers who are yet to make a dent in audience circle.  In this faction there are a few Tiatrists jealous of the other faction Tiatrists who are already on top.  Some of the Tiatrists in the second faction are frustrated for not being able to be on par with the first.  To release their frustration they are rendering “Zupattis” against some powerful in the first faction.  By doing this they hamper their own progress because Zupattis and scandalous Tiatros will never elevate any Tiatrist in the eyes of seasoned audience though a handful of cheap audience may applaud them. 

History tells us that Zupatti singers and scandalous script writers ultimately suffered misery while they were alive only while others died premature death. Since the inception of Tiatros, factions among Tiatrists have developed leading to the downgrading the image of this beautiful art.

Now, because of gaining supremacy in Tiatro fraternity, Tiatists have fought verbal and physical battles, actual and tiatrical thereby creating a big scandal resulting in Zero gain. Now time is come TO STOP RETALIATION.  Actions like TIT for TAT will not do anything. Zupatti for Zupatti will lead to disaster.  There are clever brains in Tiatro fraternity and they must work for reconciliation. Huge bodied Tiatrists must not use small brain for their development.  Zupattis and scandalous Tiatros is the pleasure of third class Tiatrists who got no right to degrade the greatness of Tiatros.

We have to save Tiatro for posterity because thru Tiatros our society and community have benefitted a lot.  Because of the anger of a few disgruntled Tiatrists we cannot afford to lose Tiatro. In order to save Tiatro we must put an end to our fights otherwise our fights will put an end to our Tiatros.

RELEASING OF NEW KONKANI ALBUM "UGDDAS M. BOYERACHO"..

“UGDDAS  M. BOYERACHO” the new Konkani Album in CD as well as DVD formats produced by Jerry Cal from Calangute, Bardez, Goa, will be released  on 8^th of this month in Calangute, Church Hall,  at 6.30 PM after the Mass.  This being the Feast Day of Our Lady, the  releasing ceremony will commence in time.  The Album will be released thru the hands of Fr. Domnick Savio, the Asst. Parish Priest of St. Alex Calangute Church.

This is the second Album of Jerry Cal and it contains 12 songs of which 7 are solos, 2 Duets, 1  Duo and 2 Trios.  Of the 7 solos, one each of Olga, Marcus Vas, Bushka, Lawry Travasso and Peter de Ugasaim while 2 solos are rendered by the producer Jerry Cal;   2 Duets – one by Benny de Aldona with Bushka and the other by Junior Reagan with Valency while one Duo by Jerry Call with Benny de Aldona.  The remaining 2 are Trios by Jet Speed Composer Salvador  Silveira-Mini Mario-Pascoal de Calangute.

All the songs are very powerful but the most powerful are both the solos of Jerry Cal, one the title song where the singer details the best Tiatros of Boyer, his best songs and the best ability of Boyer to compose best of “Cantos” in his Tiatros.  The singer also displays the best of visuals of M. Boyer as never shown before namely the ones where Boyer is shown receiving top awards Sangeet Nattak and Padmashree from the Presidents of India namely Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma and Dr. Abdul Kalam respectively.  These are the rare photos. 

In the other solo “Calangute”, Jerry Cal shows beautiful and historical scenes of Calangute like Silver Sand Calangute Beach, Baga Beach and Chapel, Bom Viagem Convent,  Monuments of Abade de Faria and Dr. Jack de Sequeira, the first English High School of Goa at Arpora and the newly built bridge there.  Also shown are the new soccer Stadium at Poriat and the beautiful Hotel Goan Heritage built by the Kuwait Goans, in addition to many more beautiful scenes.

In the solo of Olga you will see one historical scene where the last Portuguese Governor Vassalo e Silva was shown signing the treaty of surrendering Goa to India and the euphoria of the crowd  in some places for Jai Hind.  Also shown photo of Salazar and other world stalwarts.  In this solo she describes the contribution of Goan Christians in the freedom movement of Goa including that of Pintos revolt initiated by the Pinto priests from Candolim.

Both the Trios,  one on “Madd” and the other on the killing of Fr. Bismarque, while watching  one surely goes mad  by listening to the contents and especially by seeing the visuals of dead Fr. Bismarque, such scenes were not shown before nor such matter was ever rendered before. The composer and singers deserve highest praises for rendering such songs so boldly.

Bushka’s duet with Benny de Aldona and her solo carry the majesticity they deserve while new comer Peter de Ucasaim’s comedy solo is nice to listen.  Both Lawry Travasso and Marcos Vas do justice to their solos. The Kunbi duet of Reagan and Valency is beautifull while the Duo of Jerry Cal with Benny de Aldona is excellent, the beautiful voice of Benny beautifies this song more.

I can rightly say that this Album in CD and DVD form is one of the best so far I came across. Historical point of view this is a big Treasure.  I congratulate the producer Jerry Cal and his his entire troupe for producing such an excellent Album “UGDDAS M. BOYERACHO”.

SEX SCANDALS OF MINISTERS.

With reference to the hot news now going on in India on one Delhi Cabinet Minister Sandeep Kumar of AAM Admi Party forced to resign on Sex scandal issue, I must admit what Kejriwal did for him to force to resign was right but why delayed?  Was he interested to hide this scandal in the beginning?

Some years back in UK when one of the Cabinet members of Margaret Thatcher was caught in sex scandal, Thatcher immediately demanded his resignation and sent him home saying “because of your sin I am not  going to suffer.  You better go”.  But that was Margaret Thatcher called Iron Lady and this is Arwind Kejriwal whose real character is getting exposed due to many ugly doings of his colleagues.  It is going to be a good lesson for the supporters of AAM Admi in Goa who depict AAM Admi Party as the most clean Party of most upright members.

Some years back Goa was afflicted with rampant sex scandals by our  Romeo type of Ministers who extorted sex in exchange of official work.  Everybody must be still remembering Sunita – Narvencar incident  and how Narvencar was forced to resign.  Likewise we have plenty of Narvencars in Goa committing the sin of “Narvenkarism” but not getting exposed because of their dealings in such activities clandestinely but creating hardship for the innocent females especially for the young job seekers.  They must be exposed to eradicate the thorns from our way. They bring bad name for their parties and their system.

BAD ROAD PROTEST MEET IN CALANGUTE.

Today starting at 9.30 AM, at the Tinto in Calangute, the village lover Calangutcars joined in good number and organized a peaceful public meeting under the banner of Calangute Panchayat to raise the issue of very bad road currently existing in many areas of Calangute.  Because of such a pathetic condition of the roads, many accidents are occurring in Calangute where tourists and locals are become victims even of the deaths.  It looks everyone responsible is sleeping leaving the roads into the hands of the nature to act the way it deem fit.  The tourism minister is the first culprit for ignoring this road when tourism is major income of Goa.  He is unfit to take the responsibility of this sector and as such he should quit this position instead of holding PWD responsible. 

Since PWD is directly responsible to maintain these roads properly, it has totally failed in its duty.  It is useless to have PWD when it is sleeping.

 The local MLA should have used his clout with the concerned government personnel at least out of moral obligation since he is ought to show his intention of doing something for his constituency.  As it is, in Parra which is his village and also Arpora and Nagoa he decorated the roads sp beautifully.   

Finally what about the local Panchayat role?  According to my information it has no power to do anything for these roads because this segment is beyond their jurisdiction. Because of the apathy of the concerned authorities, Calangute roads are in very bad condition leading to the very bad image of tourism in Goa.

The meet was addressed by some of the prominent locals including by the strong man of Calangute Constituency and the dynamic leader of the locality Joseph Sequeira.In his speech, Sequeira warned the government machinery not to take the Congottkar for granted and went further saying that if these roads are not repaired by the end of this month, he will give a call for “Calangute Bond on 2^nd October.
