The Many Hudini’s of Goa
Our security services just seem to be clueless and found wanting, when it comes to locating high profile politicians and their stooges, who are wanted by the law for questioning. This has been happening for a long period of time in Goa.
This particular incident was a very long time ago, it was around the time of the Konkanni agitation (if I am not mistaken) there was a warrant issued for the arrest for our “piggy bhai” the Great Churchill Alemao from the centre for showing disrespect to our National Flag, a man with such a huge frame and a well known personality at that, just disappears into thin air, but reappeared just like that when “all things were taken care off.”
Then there was another one, not so very long ago, the son of “the Don” Monsarate, he too disappeared, when the security men were looking for him to question him, with regard to statuary rape of a minor, during that time even the immediate family had no knowledge of his where about. The politician’s son was missing for over a month, but then he surrendered himself to the police when “all things were taken care off.”
Then again, not so many moons ago, an young aspiring politician was accused of alleged rape by a Rusputin, he too conveniently disappeared for a couple of weeks, leaving our security service men breathless, gasping and panting, but then he too surrendered himself when he thought “all things were taken care off.” Unfortunately for him things were not taken care off.
Now the latest, the “hip hop” politician, known for his liking, for super luxury cars, women and gambling, alleged to be involved in the suicide of a young married woman, has again given a slip to our security services. Most probably he too will reappear from nowhere when “all things are taken care off”.
All these guys seem to have one thing in common, they just seem to disappear and reappear with equal ease like the great “Hudini”, the disappearing period seem to be used by the Goan Hudini’s to precisely “take care of things”. And while they do it, none of our security men get the whiff of it nor reach the tip of it. Are our security services so naïve and foolish or do they think Goans are naïve and foolish ? Arn’t these uncanny reoccurrences a bit too cocky and cohesive ?
If security services cannot locate these high profile entities, who are live pigs in a haystack, how will they locate terrorists, who’ll be like pins in the haystack ? Food for thought isn’t it ? But if one takes the case of, our mining activists, Seby the Naxalite, John from Quepem and others have been so easily located, pulled up and even carried away to the police stations by our security services, does it not show how apt and intelligent they are in apprehending our high profile activists, where as our high profile politicians turn a low profile and so very easily just slip through the fingers of our security men, how come the same security services seem to come a cropper short when it comes to locating our high profile politicians and their stooges ? And why ? Just because they are politicians and politically connected ? Isn’t the law, same for each and every one of us or is it different for the privileged few ?

I am in receipt of the above letter sent on your behalf by your Secretary Rev. Fr. J.Loiola Pereira. I am deeply shocked after having gone through your above rejoinder in pursuant to my reply dated 26th April, 2010. It is rather alarming that despite making out a ground for a personal dialogue with your grace, you are still adamant to have me heard through your unknown representative/s. All this in spite of knowing that everything I have said about Fr Diogo, his deeds and shady character is right. You choose to provide a protective cover to Fr Diogo in unholy defiance.
With reference to the alleged allegations referred to in your above cited rejoinder, I need to point out that they are not at all allegations but facts which speak for themselves & that are glaring at everyone’s face. You & all those around you know for yourselves that everything pointed out about Fr Diogo is true.
As a devote Catholic I have every right and you are duty bound to give me a personal hearing, & so the question of discussion through mediations does not arise. Jesus Christ humbled himself by being born in a manger & mingling with the poorest of the poor. In contrast, you & your associates live & dictate terms from a Palace (Bishop’s Palace) at Altinho Panjim. In your above letter it quotes “His Grace would like to make it clear to you that unless you meet his representative and substantiate your allegations, he will not be able to proceed in the matter”. This is an order & a religious head does not give orders. By refusing to meet your suffering flock, it appears that you are stuck to your Archbishops chair with glue. The chair that you so are in love with but do no justice nor take the responsibilities that comes with it. You permit your flock to suffer at the hands of a rogue evil Priest Fr Diogo (Parish Priest of Colva) by shunting away from your duties. You are a contrast to the Shepherd who came back for one lost sheep. This is behavior is of the spineless.
Like how Nero played the fiddle while Rome was burning, you choose to sit comfortably & rock in your chair & provide a protective cover for this rogue Priest Fr Diogo. Your responsibility towards your flock has turned into dictatorship & you are now ordering us around from the Archbishops Palace. As in the past, when you do not want to solve a problem, you pretend to conduct an inquiry & in the process waste sufficient time to see that the issue successfully dies out. This issue will not die out & I promise you that. Some Priests (mostly those possessing a bankrupt mind), say “Won’t Calvert require a Priest to bury him? Why is he persisting with his crusade against Fr Diogo & Co.?” Well, I have no reason to keep quiet & watch when Fr Diogo is indulging in anti-Christian & barbaric activity. As a Catholic I am asking for justice and I am duty bound to have this rogue Priest Fr Diogo flushed out from the Roman Catholic setup so that further decaying is prevented.
Your Grace is unable to prove Fr Diogo not guilty because you cannot deny any of the facts that I have put forward to you. So you have resorted to cheap time wasting tactics of telling me to substantiate my claim with proof. What proof do you require? Perhaps you want to see the proof in form of entertainment (my movie Dogui Bodmas). Since your desire is not to solve the problem, you have appointed a committee. A committee that is not officially announced as required by Cannon law so it’s a futile exercise to even talk to this committee since it is assigned for a specific purpose - to act their part & see that the issue dies out. This mode of functioning as a religious head is simply hypocrisy on your part. Thanks to you and those around you, Fr Diogo continues looting & dividing the Parishioners of Colva.
In an attempt to expose other Fr Diogo’s, the suppressed good Priests are frequent visitors to my house & telephone me regularly with unsolved saturated problems. These problems have gone out of hand because of your cold attitude. As one of these good Priests put it – “It’s a pity that a person occupies the chair of a religious head only because he belongs to a certain high caste & because he’s born in a large house. With no inbuilt leadership qualities in him, this head cannot be expected to do much specially since there are more dominant ones around him and who were deprived of the No.1 chair only because of their sexual involvement with their sister in law’ and others”.
Your Grace, please tell me & the Roman Catholic faithful if any of the following facts I have placed before you regarding Fr Diogo the Parish Priest of Colva Church are false:
1.Is anything that is regarding Fr Diogo on my music CD “Dogui Bodmas” wrong?
2.Can you deny that Fr Diogo liberally allowed Church bells to be peeled on 28th December 2009 to gather crowds who were then instigated by him to damage my house and murder me? Can you deny that he misused the Church bell thereafter regularly?
3.Can you deny that after damaging my house Fr Diogo was gleefully waving out to the same crowd at the Church Square in appreciation for a job well done?
4.Can you deny that Fr Diogo further instigated Colva villagers to close down the day to day functioning of Colva Village in connivance with the dishonorable Police Inspector Edwin Colasso and the local MLA?
5.Can you deny that you visited this rogue Priest Fr Diogo through the back door of the Colva Church & later sent a letter “Gonvllic chitt” in support of Fr Diogo? This Gonvllik chitt was read out in Colva Church and its neighboring Parishes. It read “the Colva parish priest, Fr Diogo Fernandes, who “had to suffer a great deal because of the above mentioned CD: we extend to him our heartfelt solidarity,” the letter commends his self-restraint and his appeal to his parishioners to exercise the same, even in the face of the defamation he was being subjected to”. Your grace, I don’t think that you even have a conscience in writing this after you know that Fr Diogo is more then guilty and everything in the CD is correct. You are no better then our Politicians who will sell even their wives for the Chair of the Chief Minister. I have exposed a thief and a Romeo (Fr Diogo) & you condemn me because I have done that & because I am fighting for justice?
6.Can you deny that Fr Diogo used & regularly uses the Church Pulpit to -
a)Make life miserable for those exposing his thieving by instigating Parishioners against Parishioners so that they remain divided which automatically enhances & let him loot freely & keep begging for money which is never accounted for.
b)Can you deny that Fr Diogo has gobbled up all the gold that has been donated to the Colva Church by devotees ever since he took over as Parish Priest of Colva? How do you expect the sudden drought when we used to get heaps of gold before that? I can parade many such donors with a short notice.
c)Can you deny that Fr Diogo was drunk on Fama day last October at the time of keeping back the image of Infant Jesus on the alter? His henchmen say that he was dead tired due to the hectic schedule but how was the foul smell of alcohol coming from his mouth?
d)Can you deny that Fr Diogo has stopped Sunday Mass at the various village Chapels because enough money collection is not being received by him? Our elders approached you with great difficulty but you gave excuse after excuse in support of Fr Diogo’s unholy actions. You don’t even want to bend and restore the celebration of Sunday Mass’ at these Chapels.
e)Can you deny that on 4th January, 2010, Fr Diogo instigated villagers to physically stop me from attending a Panchayat body meeting by personally telephoning them? Since his plan was not working, he instigated villagers to ring the Church bells to gather crows who were then instigated to stop me from attending the said Panchayat body meeting. The attempt was sabotaged because the Police were kind enough to deploy more then 150 policemen and policewomen to help me attend the meeting. Fr Diogo was then bitterly complaining that he even telephoned the Chief Minister to unsuccessfully withdraw the Police force. So this explains that Fr Diogo wanted murder to take place.
f)Can you deny that Fr Diogo is in the process of manipulating the election process of Colva Confraria to enable his cronies to be put on the panel which in turn will help him pocket the lakhs of rupees that exist in the coffers of the Colva Confraria?
g)Can you deny that Fr Diogo has come to the Colva Parish with his lady love? He claims that he is helping this lady but how do you explain her accompanying him wherever he goes including restaurants & hotels?
h)Can you deny that Fr Diogo is having more then Priestly relationship with more then a handful of ladies (mostly widowed) and most of whom were present to damage my house on 28th December 2009? Our delegation from the village had complained to you & even met Fr Jose Remedious Fernandes (vicar general) who mocked bluntly by asking them “so what if Fr Diogo has a girlfriend. What is your problem”? I cannot expect much from a person who is obviously frustrated of having being blackmailed into submission not to lay claim to the chair of the Bishop because of his sexual involvement with women. You can keep rocking on your chair and watch all this depicted in my movie.
7.Your Grace, you refuse to act inspite of me bringing almost everything to your notice. When the “Dogui Bodmas” controversy broke out, many questioned my move to make such a CD without having dialogue with Fr Diogo. You know that I produced this CD “Dogui Bodmas” only after writing to Fr Diogo several letters spanning over three years wherein I cautioned him abundantly. The matter was also brought to your notice in writing but as usual you chose to ignore it. In response, all that Fr Diogo said was – “As long as the Archbishop is with me, nobody can even touch a single hair of mine”. Now I call upon you to sit straight, flex your muscles and act in accordance to how you are supposed to act as our religious head. You may choose to ignore but be sure that you will have stunning facts thrown at your face in form of entertainment. This is not only exposing Fr Diogo but also the passionate love affair of lover boy Jose Remedious behind “Fulancho Khuris” at Bambolim & much more. Many unholy men in white robes will stand exposed & find themselves in “No man’s land”. So keep supporting Fr Diogo and you will have many more Calverts’ mushrooming very shortly.
8.How much & for how long will you protect Fr Diogo? It now looks obvious that there are major scandals of yours & those around you that Fr Diogo knows and which he has threatened to disclose if you conduct an inquiry into his malfunctioning & if he is transferred. If you don’t act quickly, it won’t be long before many more Fr Diogos’ will be exposed. And when that happens, you will loose total control. It is high time that you use your authority & act as the Archbishop and not behave like a puppet by allowing Fr Jose Remedious & others to go berserk & function as Fr Diogo’s henchmen.
9.Today, you stand in defiance inspite of Fr Diogo completing his stipulated term of seven years as Parish Priest of Colva & after his thieving being exposed. You permit him to continue looting in the name of Colva Church where he was transferred in 2003. Regular performing witchcraft has enhanced Fr Diogo’s devotion to Satan & not to God as he is supposed to do. If Fr Diogo denies this, I will show you where he performs…
