Dear Kranti Editor,
Please publish this letter in your forum about the KGTS fiasco which Agnelo Barreto has already exposed. I am a regular reader of Kranti and wish to congratulate you for your excellent work for our Goan community. More power to you. Regards,
Jack Gomes, KISR, Salmiya, Kuwait.
My aim of writing this letter is to expose the horrible show of KGTS which, according to me, was a complete failure on all fronts. The artistes were found wanting in their performances. I guess this is what happens when you don't consult creative brains. Of late it has come to my knowledge that certain people are trying to promote their own friends rather than the real artistes. Katty de Navelim is a perfect example of what I am trying to explain. This is a dangerous precedent. And I implore you A. Veronica not to be part of this kind of propaganda. Publish interviews of only deserving artistes. You should maintain the high bar you have set for Kranti. You should not allow Kranti to be used as a platform to promote Altu Faltu artistes. You know them all. I don't have to enlighten you on this issue.
By publishing stories of Altu Faltu artistes you are doing a disservice to the real talent. It is atrocious to see any tom, dick and harry have his article printed in a newspaper by influencing a journalist. It amounts to nothing but prostitution. Coming back to the Show, there was too much politics involved in the event and that is why it turned out to be A KICHDI. I remember a saying which goes: "TOO MANY COOKS SPOIL THE SOUP." This is what precisely happened with the KGTS show. Talented artistes were not taken into confidence and that's why it back fired. I hope people learn from their mistakes.
