What is the use of having 87% literacy rate in Goa and for being the third ranked literate state in India? We Goans are forced to bow our heads in shame for the disgusting developments taking place on the political front in Goa. Couple of months ago two of the many uneducated politicians allegedly resigned from the goa cabinet as ministers and also as from the Congress party. The reason is one of their siblings have been disqualified from contesting elections for Youth Congress post. They realized their ignorant folly when the local command did not budge in their antics, and rushed to Delhi to meet the high command. After an alleged reprimand for their shameless actions by the high command in Delhi, returned back to Goa stating that the high command have requested them to withdraw their resignations.
Now it has been given to understand that there were no resignations submitted and this was confirmed by CM. The biased press in Goa has been shamelessly reporting this ugly incident in local media. We can understand the plight of these two ministers, who without power are like fish without water, but Valanka is given to believe to be an educated person with law as her specialty. On return from Delhi she stated that she will build the congress party. Does she know the real architect of the congress party collapse in Goa all these years? Remember PDF?
She says her father is a pillar of the congress party. Four years back this pillar was holding some other party in Goa. Remember Save Goa Party??? She confesses that someone is back stabbing her and she has been framed. Does she have the guts to name the person? Valanka being a lawyer should stand up and declare what she says in public. Valanka should know by now that her family has vanquished all knives and frames by backstabbing and framing goans and thus famously mastered this trade. It seems social worker and a winning candidate and she may be right as her family has the money power to win her the elections. But what has she achieved so far rather than sharing the spotlight with her father in self sponsored activities?
Valanka being a well educated person should realize that some goans are highly educated than her and will not fall prey to her whims and fancies. Show your true will and power as an educated person and we will support you all through, but if you toe the line of this present uneducated lot then doom is not far away. All these hue and cry due to the forthcoming elections will not gather any momentum. MLAs think that by providing roads, electricity and water they have done a favor to us. For what are these rogues elected by us. To go to Delhi and have fun at our cost? Who spends for their trips to the national capital? What is that they want to provide for us goans by getting elected once again?
Churchill was on record to compare goans with whining pigs. If he is elected again in Goa than we can all assume that his electorate are indeed pigs? Digambar Kamat has publicly stated that he does not need goan voter’s votes as he has gathered enough migrants to do the honors. Now it’s time for the electorate to wake up as one of the social activist wrote on goancauses that these pigs will be coming to our doorstep to beg for votes. Goan voters, elect sons of the soil and not any crook who promises doles of ill gotten wealth. If not, then like the present lot we will have once again uneducated ministers manning PWD, Urban Development, Education, Home etc.
PWD is used to build unnecessary and fake bridges so that 20% commission is received by the minister. Urban Development is used to sell prime Goan land to foreign builders and fill their coffers. Education ministry has lost its credibility with the recent developments of declaring bungled results. Home minister has prospered due to the deliberate inefficiency of goa police in curbing drugs, prostitution, rapes, extortion etc in which the minister and his family are deeply involved and benefitted. All these portfolios have created havoc and ravaged Goa. They should know that God is watching their misdeeds. His wrath will be so severe that none of these rogues will see the light of the day. They can fool people by kissing the Bible, but not God.
Why kiss the Bible in public and have it photographed when at home they forget about the Holy Book. The media in Goa is threatened by Churchill if he or his family is not covered extensively in the press and this was recently reported by the editor of Herald. One close friend of mine who compeers shows in goa was once pulled up by Churchill for a function as my friend did not give due publicity to Churchill who attended the function like many other guests. This is the level of our politicians in Goa.
In Kuwait also we are obsessed with our MLAs for the doles. Early this year one of the MLA was brought to Kuwait to attend a football tournament, but was dismayed by the lack of support shown towards him by goans from Kuwait. According to the organizers their MLA was deeply hurt. The organizers failed to realize that this MLA is a non entity in Goan politics and they foolishly expected goans to grace his presence in Kuwait. In Goa these types of MLAs organize rallies and meetings by doling the attendees, but it does not happen in Kuwait. When people fail miserably in their organizational capabilities they seek support from these failed politicians for the dole and then cry hoarse when rebutted by general public.
In Kuwait we have goans who crave to be photographed in company of the visiting politicians and then publish it on self glorified print media and internet forums thereby putting real goans in Kuwait to shame. In Kuwait we have mutants who attend fully sponsored functions in Kuwait and outside and proclaim themselves as goan leaders. These people are not even known in their own villages back home but here due to false coverage given to them by few internet forums and print media they call themselves goan leaders, but in reality are paupers. Print media and internet forums are being selectively used to portray these politicians as godsend. When these politicians are caught with their pants down then the same print media and internet forums go into hibernation. In fact the owners of these media print and internet forums are scared of these rogue politicians and some are even beneficiaries of their illegal dole. These media forums are least interested in our homeland affairs, but more interested in self glorification by portraying themselves as writers and social activists.
Kuwait goans from Navelim Village were up in arms four years ago against Churchill when he defeated the son of the soil Luizinho Faleiro. Now four years after, these same people are glorifying Churchill and have forgotten Luizinho Faleiro. I do not have any personal enmity with Alemaos or any other politician, but I am ashamed by their deeds as we educated goans here in Kuwait are branded as illiterate by fellow Indians due to their disgusting behavior. If anyone writes and exposes the dirty deals of these politicians then knives are out to slit the writer and this done by us goans who have fallen prey to these politicians. How many of us love and care about our homeland Goa? How many of us have the guts to antagonize these politicians with our writings and deeds? How many of us are willing to awaken our brethren about these illiterate politicians who have ravaged goa? How many of us are willing to come forward and see the change in Goa? I am willing and ready. Are You?

IT WILL BE THE AAM AADMI CALLING, NOT AMMA, NOR ANNA.
At the moment, the Congress government at the centre looks to be staggering and going around in circles, trying to find it’s own tail in broad daylight, in handling the issue of corruption, which has stretched and swelled in it’s own ranks and foundations and even the handling of the old army boy, Anna Hazzare, certainly lacked prudence, as well as foresight and has indeed left much to be desired. A party of stalwarts and legends in Indian Politics, Congress has been slipshod and incompetent and very much ineffective, to say the least.
Right from Independence, the Congress has been smeared in scams and controversies but in the last decade, it has escalated into a free for all orgy, where not just crores but thousand of crores have been waylaid, siphoned and redirected through the political conduits into their own personal holdings in India as well as abroad, which has now become the major caused of social and political turmoil in India.
Over the years corruption has reached unprecedented heights in India and our Political and our bureaucratic Babus, have been wholly and solely responsible for the ascendance this unholy malevolence. If not for the “ghaplas” and “gotalas” the old army man, Anna Hazzare would not have been heard off, but today whole India is moved into a tsunami, supporting his fight against this social and economic evil. There may be thousands like me, who have high regards for Anna, but is this the process and progress of a healthy democracy ? Will people have to take to the streets every time they want to voice their fears and concerns, putting the lives of innocent people at stake ? Is the end result more important than the means to get there ?
On one side we all say Anna jai ho ! In support of Anna against corruption but on the other side, we still elect the same corrupt elements for a few notes and goodies. How is it, that the very same people baying against corruption one minute, loose their pragmatism the next ? The corrupt elements are not new, they have been elected term after term by none other than our corrupt selves, so what logic do we espouse in supporting Anna against corruption, if we ourselves are corrupt in electing the corrupt ? What good will it do if we have a fortress of a Bill but elect the same Johns from the brothel ?
A lot of luminaries say that even with the implementation of the Lokpal Bill can anyone guarantee that corruption will cease to exist ? I don’t think even Anna would be able to answer that in the affirmative. There is no doubt that we need a strong Lokpal Bill, but more than that, first, we need incorruptible Indians, because without incorruptible Indians there just cannot be incorruptible elements in the Government, it is only because we are corrupt that we have corrupt politicians and corrupt bureaucrats. So no Lokpal Bill will change the system if we ourselves don’t change. Like Gandhi-ji said let’s be the change that want to be.
It amuses me to no end, when the PM of our country says, Lokpal will not stop corruption, a statement from a renowned, revered and respected personality, whom people still believe to be incorruptible though a lot has been said about his spine or rather the lack of it in handling corruption. The Home minister says that laws are not made in parks in a democracy but in Parliament, right, but when the Parliament itself is desecrated and it’s sanctity reduced to that of a brothel by its very inhabitants, what are the people suppose to do ? If people have the right to elect our babus to Parliament, they also have the right to show their displeasure too. It may not be the best way but may be the only way left at their disposal.
Corruption in India will not be blown out like a candle in an instance, it will take a long process to change the present opaque system and a strong Lokpal Bill can be just the jump-start that needs to get the process moving forward, rest can follow and if we all Indians can change our mindset and be incorruptible ourselves, it will not be impossible to weed out corruption from India and the same goes for our beloved Goa.
I would like to remind our Home Minister and all his political and bureaucratic Babus that if things do not change and continue as they are and if push comes to shove, it will not be Amma calling from the hospital, nor Anna from Tihar jail, but the Aam Aadmi from the street, do not ever underestimate the power of the people, world around has been witnesses to it in recent times, which India and Goa could very well do without !
