Thank you very much for keeping the memories of GOAN SOCCER ALIVE ! ! ! There is nobody, I mean NOBODY is alive today to fulfil our Goan Soccer Spirit the way you are expressing yourself. Because once upon a time that was your profession playing for SESA GOA, am I right? But now a days all altu-faltu without any knowledge and big empty "petrolache dhobeancho awaz kortat".
After I read your article yesterday, I was overjoyed. You know why? When I was young say about 9 or 10 my father used to go for the soccer games, he used to take me with him to watch the games, specially when A.V.C. Soccer Tornaments used to begin in April/ May in our village Assolna during Portuguese era and the big teams like Salgaocar, Clubo Vasco, Dempo, Seza Goa, Shantilal etc. all these teams used to be on AVC football grounds in Assolna, Velim and Cuncolim.
Once I remember, you also will know, Pinho (paklo) used to shoot into the net from one end of the ground to the other end straight into the net, he was the ace scorer for Salgaocar. As I remember, there was one fantastic player from Chinchinim playing during those days named Catao, you may remember him, likewise brothers Afonso Goes and Ernesto Goes, all playing for Salgaocar, but later on one by one they left to play for huge India teams like Mafatlal, Tata etc. etc.
Thank you, you made my day and brought back memories of those good old yesteryears. This job beautifuly you alone can do and none else either in Kuwait or in Goa because you belong to that yesteryears crop of talented Goans.
I cannot wait for the world cup to begin. On July 27, Olympics will start. Before you leave Kuwait, at least go to London for Olympics, all your expenses I will bear but I would like you to go so that you will gain more knowlege which you can impart to oothers.
THE narration you narrated of KIFF and Kuwait Goan football in Kuwait is very informative. When I was in Kuwait I used to come to Sour ground to watch matches where you used to play fantastically well. Your heading, running and defending was class by itself. I dont think there is any one whom I can compare with you. You were the best among all. It is you more than others who popularised Goan soccer in Kuwait. You deserve highest Award from Goan community more than JP D'Mello and UG.
