AVC KUWAIT REPLIES ON DUBAI FOOTBALL.

This is in reply to the articles written by Donald Vaz and Felix D’Souza on the Gulf Goans Cup in Dubai.

It may be noted that AVC – Kuwait is conducting the tournament in Dubai and Mr. Bonny Fernandes is providing the logistic support to us in Dubai. The tournament is being sponsored by AVC-Kuwait and whatever is being promised to the participating teams will be delivered. We are least interested in Dubai’s Goan soccer affairs. If any of the writers have a problem with Mr. Bonny then I suggest they to take up the matter with individuals concerned and not drag AVC – Kuwait in the muck.

Regarding having the tournament in Kuwait, it may be noted that AVC-Kuwait has been conducting tournaments in Kuwait every year and this year we wanted to do something different and hence moved to Dubai. It may be also noted that AVC-Kuwait has been in the forefront of soccer among the Indian expatriate community in Kuwait and have been League Champions in the recently concluded IFFK league. Our football team has also won an outstation tournament in Bahrain few years back.

We in AVC – Kuwait organize tournaments for the mere pleasure of playing the beautiful game and not for any vested interests. It may be happening in Dubai, but not in Kuwait. Our sponsors give us the backing as we are open and transparent in our dealings. The writers should have contacted the individuals organizing the tournament from Kuwait before entering into the usual Goan mudslinging. We want to conduct a smooth tournament in Dubai, hence I request all Dubai Goans including Mr. Donald Vaz and Mr. Felix D’Souza to lend us a helping hand when we reach Dubai to conduct this tournament.

We look forward to your warm and kind support. Lets us all unite in the name of Goa at least for once. For any further clarification contact Xavier Furtado on 00965 99114634 and email ID xavierfurtado23@yahoo.com or Demin D’Cruz on 0096597651460 and email ID dcruz50@hotmail.com Long live Football.

Cheers!!!!

DISGRACE ON DUBAI GOAN SOCCER ARENA.

From: Donald Vaz.

Donald Vaz has left a new comment on your post "MORE ON "GULF GOANS CUP" in Dubai.":

Kranti, would apreciate if you could please publish my letter on your blog. Kranti Blog is well connected to Goans al over the world. People open the blog mostly for political writings but now they wil get a different subject and hope they enjoy it. Let the GOAN worldwide know what is football in Dubai. Long live Kranti for the oportunity it gives for everyone to open up the wrong doings. Thank you

Dear Felix,
I knew I had hit the bulls eye but never knew that you could hit the other eye too. Cannot belive that there is so much going on in Dubai where football is concerned. Felix thank for opening up the closet of Dubai football and the Mafia's connection. It is a shame that it reached to that extent. I remember Raul Fernandes and Micky used to run football tournaments on their own which we used to love to go to watch and people and teams used to enjoy. I heard lately that Bonny used to work for Raul and Raul had to pack him off to Goa for something Bonny did no one knows yet. Where are this two guys now? Are they not capable of handling the Mafia's ? I am sure both are well connected and have resources of anything under the sun unless they are sick of Goan politics.

The football in Dubai is run by mafia from Ilhas and Bardez is a FACT. I can recollect one match at the Iranian Stadium where the organizer Mr Silvera even went to confront the reffree for some bad discision which went against his team, what a shame ( MAFIA IS THE CORRECT WORD ). It is known that he has big influence in Dubai and he uses it to his benefit. It was also talk of the town that when his team lost the Finals of Ramadan 11 -a-side the cash prize promised was forgoten but when his team wins there is always cash prize given with out even anouncing at the meeting (team manager will vouch for this ).

Regarding Casmiro Palha, i can recount one Intervillage Finals where Casmiro was playing for Benaulin where he was on the forefront of walking the team out of the field thus abondoning the final. Even the chief guest Indian Embassy Diplomat spoke to the team to continue the match in sporting spirit but of no avail. It was an insult to the Vice Consul and imagine what the organizers must have felt. The Vice Consul must have had a bad impression of Goans. After that incident I have not seen any one from Emabassy attending the Finals ( correct me if i am wrong)

If Bonny has cheated Casmiro then he deserve it for what he had done for the finals showing his class where footbal is concerned.

Regarding the football " GULF GOANS CUP" what is there for the Kuwait Goans organizing a tournament in Dubai, cant they do it there ?? are they also like Bonny ( Birds of same feather flock together ?), results wil come to know next month.

Like Felix said" LET THE FOOTBALL WIN NOT BONNY nor KUWAIT GOANS".

MORE ON "GULF GOANS CUP" in Dubai.

From: Felix D'souza.

Felix D'souza has left a new comment on your post "DONALD VAZ ON "GULF GOANS CUP" in Dubai.":

Kranti, please publish my writing in response to Donald article. Thank you for the opportunity. I am sure your blog may now flood with letters from Dubai on the subject. Let all Goans enjoy it. I was wondering where is your regular writer from Dubai Mr Agnelo, we all love his articles he got guts and straight forward articles. Since he is based in Dubai may be can open up some beans in regards to Dubai Football. Thanks....

Dear Mr. Donald,
Your guess is correct, yes it is that Bonny famous Bonny in Dubai and in Goa where football and Thiatr are concerned. He used to organize tournaments in Dubai with the promise of cach prize also and do the same as done in Goa. My source tells me that he had one big tournament organized in Goa along with Casmiro Palha (Ex International football keeper of India and also Ex Dempo) at Candolim Ground few years back with a promise of Aid for HIV affected children in Tivin ( correct me if I am wrong on the name front) but nothing happend and even Casmiro got cheated in that bargain.

Now coming back to Dubai, in order to stop the irregularities ( promise cash and give throphies )my source tells me that all the Team Managers in Dubai got together and stopped participating in his tournaments, ask any Goan team manager in Dubai and he will vouch for this. He also organized a 11-a- side intervillage tournament during Ramadan in joining hands with Goan Cultural Society (another dubious character) against the other tournament which was organized by Seven Stars or United Goans ( one of the two, names confused) during the same time.

Now I heard that he has joined hands with Seven Stars / United Goans and left Goan Cultural Society and when asked how he could do that, reply came, ask the people in Dubai what Bonny is and who Bonny is. HE IS ONE WHO WILL DO ANYTHING FOR MONEY. He does not even care for his own Blood where money is concerned and this was the talk people speak on the football ground. It is suprising that Kuwait Goans joined hands with Bonny to organize a tournament in Dubai, looks like bigger CUT but beware Bonny is Kolo ( FOX ) from Saligoa.

People in Dubai talk of the good old days where football was played for love of football with Football knowledgeable people managing teams spending their own money with football loving players, they too were spending their own money with good atmosphere around grounds but now it seems Players are paid Cash to play for the teams, teams are Sponsored by Companies and the teams are run by people who has money but does not have knowledge of football ( may be gained now after participating for many years)

Some of the managers must have not even kicked football for village teams in Goa. These people want to show off that they are someone in the society. Dubai football was and is run by Mafia type of groups. During the initial stages as the Old timers in Dubai tells Ruzai Fernandes the tiatrist son of late tiatrist Alexinho de Candolim and Salcette people were on forefront in organizing footbal events in Dubai and they are now no more involved, some left Dubai and few have passed away ( may their soul rest in peace).

Now the mafia group hailing from Ilhas and Bardez ruling while the Salcette people have taken the back seat. Salcette people dance to the organizers tunes and Salcette teams are also dwindling in participation numbers. Time to wake up Salcette people either go alone or join hands with them. Hire Bonny if you'll got money and he will handle everything only open your wallets. We need competetion in organization here where the balance can tilt. It is now for many years one side game.

Well, Good luck and let football be the winner not Bonny or Kuwait Goans.

Felix D'souza.
