KEEP ALIVE THE STRUGGLE OF FR. BISMARQ.

 

Reformist Martin Luther was the creation of the then Pope while Fr. Bismarq was the creation  of the current Bishop of Goa.  Martin Luther revolted against the Pope for selling Bulls for the remission of sins while Fr. Bismarq revolted against Bishop for selling Vanxim Land.  In both the cases, collecting of money in the name of furthering Church activities was the reason.  The money collected thru the sale of Bulls was to utilise for the construction of St. Peters Basilica in Rome while the money collected thru the sale of Vanxim property is to be utilized as per the information, to repair the Santa Monica Convent which is located at Old Goa among all the protected Church edifices.  Since these edifices are of historical importance, they fall under the jurisdiction of Archaelogical Department of India for their repairs and maintenance.  In view of this, it looks the purpose of Goa Church of collecting money for repairs of Santa Monica Convent is wrong.    

Goa  debate of selling Church land of Vanxim would not have been so much of noise making debate if it was not for the alleged murder of Fr. Bismarq who was opposing the Bishop very ferociously. In order to fight this case he even had to  sacrifice his priesthood when Bishop as given to understand Red Carded him from Priesthood.  It looks in his death Fr. Bismarq has become more powerful than when he was alive. Greek philosopher Socrates warned the authority of the consequences of his killing but his warning was ignored and worst has happened over the dead body of Socrates.  Fr. Bismarq also warned of similar  consequences but nobody paid attention resulting in launching a movement in Goa of exposing all the culprits involved directly and indirectly in this crime. The main exposures of the alleged murder of Bismarq are Goa Church, Goa government and the entire machinery of Goa government.

Bishop of Goa has made a big mistake by selling Church property against the Biblical and Canon Law instructions.  If the Vanxim land becomes operative in tourism development activities then Vaxim will not remain as original Vanxim but it will be converted into a Sin City.  Who will be responsible for the spreading of Sin in Vanxim?  Will it not be the Goa Church headed by Goa Bishop?  Surely he only whose  doctrine of eradicating Sin to help the souls to go to Heaven in a Christian principle will be defeated.  It will be a defeat for Christianity.

The presence of Fr. Bismark in this world was the greatest obstacle for all who want to have total control not only over Vanxim but also of entire Goa to destroy Goa’s ecology, culture and Goanness.  For this reason immediately after liquidating Fr. Bismarq, the Invetment Promotion Board has given green signal to all the projects in Vanxim.  Also the anti-Goan old Regional Plan was brought back.  In view of this, to fight the government dadagiri,  Builders dadagiri,Bishop's dadagiri and dadagiri of others, all the supporters and followers of Fr. Bismarq must join together and take up all the issues Fr. Bismarq was fighting.  With the demise of Fr. Bismarq the demise of his  struggles should not be allowed.  In this direction last week at TB Cunha Hall a public meeting was organized by Bharat Mhukti Morcha whose president in Goa Maggie Silveira vowed to fight the menace of Ozones – Gaunekakrs – Bishops and others.  My full support to Bharat Mukti Morcha.

FC GOA UNITED THE GOANS.

Where Esperanto failed,  the game of foot-ball succeeded.  In the recently concluded ISL soccer tournament Goans forgot their differences and followed with deep reverence the game of soccer unitedly with the slogan  “FORCA GOA”. Every Goan understood the other Goan thru soccer.

The greatest achievement of ISL in Goa was the sense of oneness it created  into the minds and hearts of the Goans. The loss of FC Goa no doubt was a shocking but credit must go to Chennai for inflicting this loss on Goa by playing the right mode of soccer at the right time.  A team leading by one goal till 2 minutes before the final whistle  cannot hold its opponents for 2 minutes only has no right to win the match.  As a footballer of caliber during my younger days I suggest FC Goa team members, management, followers and fans to accept this otherwise unacceptable defeat sportingly.

FC Goa lacked dependable defense since Lucio and Gragory lacked their previous physical efficiency and mental alertness.   FC Goa also lacked a midfield maestro to orchestrate all the moves cleverly and in the forward line FC Goa lacked a first time finishers specially from the box.  Keeping the ball on one’s feet for longer period is a  big mistake our forwards committed instead of releasing the powerful footer in Portuguese Eusebian style.

As pointed out by Zico, allowing only six Indian players  to represent each team is a mistake because it does not help the promotion of local talent instead it shadows local talent from developing.  In Italy in the Seria A division only 2 foreign players are allowed per team. This was done by Italian soccer authority to give impetus to the local soccer talent in greater number.

The last fiasco  between Elano and Salgaocar was a black mark on the otherwise successfully organized this year’s edition. I don’t say Elano was innocent but in the absence of his version of what provoked him to act thus, I am unable to inflict the whole blame on him. Since a long time now that I am watching him on the field, he looks to be a decent man unlikely to act rough.  By listening to one side of the story only and blaming him is not correct though what he did was wrong.

GOA STATE CULTURAL AWARDS PRESENTED.

 

GOA STATE CULTURAL AWARDS 2014 - 15.

Yesterday, 20^th of this month, at Institute Menezes Bragana Hall, Panjim, at 4.00 PM in a specially organized function, Goa State Cultural Awards were presented by the Directorate of Art and Culture, Government of Goa, to the 12 prominent artists who excelled in different fields of Art and Culture.  Two of them were Tiatrists, namely Rita Rose and Joe Rose, one my colleague in Konkani movement  Dilip Borker a literary figure with whom I participated in the Hunger Strike at Azad Maidan Panjim during Konkani language agitation 30 years back and Mahendra Alvares for Fine Art/Craft who is the owner of Big Foot – Anchestral Goa – at Loutolim.

The chief guest of the day was renowned Film Actor – Writer – Filmmaker Nana Patekar felicitated the Awardees while the guest of honour Dayanand R. Mandrekar –Minister of Art and Culture – presided over the function and Sidharth Kunkolienkar MLA was the guest of honour.
