 Pradeep Naik - Happy 50th Birthday

 

In the Tiatro circle, Pradeep Naik is the name and fame.   Among the tall Tiatrists he stands taller in performing any given role and this specialty of his is seen by the audience.  That being a Hindu he is so well known in the Tiatro world is his greatness.  In fact currently all the Hindu Tiiatrists are making a mark for themselves by their sheer high caliber.  Alexinho de Candolim carry the credit to introduce Hindu Tiatrists in his Tiatros, then came the giant among the Hindu Tatrists, Kamat de Assolna.  But the current giant among all the Hindu Tiatrists is Pradeep Naik a decent and well-mannered educated man employed at Art and Culture, Goa Government. He is the resident of Carambolim.

On Christmas Day, i.e. 25^th of this month, Pradeep Naik celebrated his 50^th Birthday and the Minister and other dignitaries seated at the dais congratulated Praddep Naik for completing fifty years of his life.  The Chief Guest Minister for Art and Culture Dayananda Mandrencar also   complimented the author for writing this Book and wished him all success.

One of the Guests of Honour was Pradeep’s Boss at Art and Culture, Prasad Loliencar who is the director of Art and Culture.  In his speech he praised Pradeep for his dedicated work in all the fields and concluded by saying that he was proud to have Pradeep under him as an employee of Art and Culture.  Similarly, another Guest of Honour Mr. Madkaikar, MLA spoke very high of Pradeep Naik and his work in the field of Dramas. Biku Nayak the man behind publishing of this book highlighted the salient characteristics of Pradeep Naik.  All the speakers praised the decent character of Pradeep Naik.  Miss Namrata compeered the proceedings in her mellifluent tongue.

Rarely one can see in Goa in the Konkani circle such a well organized function having decent outlook and elite presentation.

 

In his speech the author Pradeep Naik gave some information of this book to make the audience aware of the contents.  He was fabulous in his words to shower MLA Madkaicar with most of the credit for his success in his life.

It was surprising that none from the Tiatrists world was present there neither any writer from the Romi script.  At least to my knowledge I did not see there anyone from these segments.

GOA NETTERS MEET IN PANJIM.

 

Yesterday, 28^th of this month I attended as one of the invitees, the GOA NETTERS MEET held at Fundacao Oriente, Panjim, at 11.00 AM.  The meet was attended by members of the Goa Net from different parts of the world who  are currently in Goa. They discussed many topics of their choice regarding Goa.  Fred Noronha conducted the meet on behalf of Goa Net and he took lot of interest to co-ordinate with the members.  When this writer’s turn came to speak he spoke thus, referring to one of the female members from Bandodcar family who preferred to speak in Konkani: “Speaking on the importance of one’s mother tongue, Rabindranath Tagore said – One can reach into the sea of eternal understanding only thru one’s own mother tongue -  I am a Konkani lover, Konkani writer and Konkani speaker.  I too prefer to speak in Konkani but since some of the members may not be at ease  for not being good in Konkani, I will speak with the mixture of Konkani and English.

I come from the village in Goa that gave birth to one of the greatest men of this planet, Abade Faria and also gave birth to the great  revolutionaries not only of Goa and of India but also of Asia who were the first people who fought for their  Freedom for their land from the colonialists. It is these people from Candolim Pintos Vaddo from where I come who showed the path for others too to fight for their freedom. The Roman Catholic Priests were the leading figures in this revolution who later on when caught by the Portuguese government were tortured, hanged and killed.  Abade Faria being one of the members of this group went to Portugal before he was caught but soon from Portugal he fled to France where he told this news of Pintos Revolution and its failure to the French Revolutionaries.  Then after French Revolution was born.   

I spoke then about my past in Goa, superb sporting activities and how I was involved in conducting  operation against GRD Tata at Sinquerim to force him to employ locals and Goans at the first 5 Star Hotel of Goa, the Taj.  This was the first revolt of Goans in Goa against multinational after the invasion of Goa by the Bharat Serkar.

Then I said that being the first among Goans, Goa Net should have been the mighty powerhouse by now but due to faulty policy of its Admin to entrust the task of moderating to a biased moderator, many Goans lost the taste of Goa Net.  Because of this Goa Net has lost its earlier importance. In fact I am searching for this moderator in the city with a Lighted Lantern in my hand during the day time when the sun is directly overheard, like that Greek Philosopher Diogenes.

Then I said how I sowed the seed of Konkani movement in Kuwait and how we from Kuwait helped develop Konkani movement culminating in the recognition of Konkani thus facilitating the granting of Statehood on Goa.  While we from Kuwait were supporting Konkani movement in Goa, worldwide Goa Netters were looking at us instead of their contribution  which was very imperative at that time.

Finally I concluded saying not to sell their old houses to any Altu Faltu, not even your “Kombiancho Gudd” and for God sake not to gift any of your properties to the Church taking into consideration the policy of the Church to sell the gifted properties to our enemies, example Sale of Vanxim land by the Goa Church to the builder for unchristian purpose.

KEEP ALIVE THE STRUGGLE OF FR. BISMARQ.

 

Reformist Martin Luther was the creation of the then Pope while Fr. Bismarq was the creation  of the current Bishop of Goa.  Martin Luther revolted against the Pope for selling Bulls for the remission of sins while Fr. Bismarq revolted against Bishop for selling Vanxim Land.  In both the cases, collecting of money in the name of furthering Church activities was the reason.  The money collected thru the sale of Bulls was to utilise for the construction of St. Peters Basilica in Rome while the money collected thru the sale of Vanxim property is to be utilized as per the information, to repair the Santa Monica Convent which is located at Old Goa among all the protected Church edifices.  Since these edifices are of historical importance, they fall under the jurisdiction of Archaelogical Department of India for their repairs and maintenance.  In view of this, it looks the purpose of Goa Church of collecting money for repairs of Santa Monica Convent is wrong.    

Goa  debate of selling Church land of Vanxim would not have been so much of noise making debate if it was not for the alleged murder of Fr. Bismarq who was opposing the Bishop very ferociously. In order to fight this case he even had to  sacrifice his priesthood when Bishop as given to understand Red Carded him from Priesthood.  It looks in his death Fr. Bismarq has become more powerful than when he was alive. Greek philosopher Socrates warned the authority of the consequences of his killing but his warning was ignored and worst has happened over the dead body of Socrates.  Fr. Bismarq also warned of similar  consequences but nobody paid attention resulting in launching a movement in Goa of exposing all the culprits involved directly and indirectly in this crime. The main exposures of the alleged murder of Bismarq are Goa Church, Goa government and the entire machinery of Goa government.

Bishop of Goa has made a big mistake by selling Church property against the Biblical and Canon Law instructions.  If the Vanxim land becomes operative in tourism development activities then Vaxim will not remain as original Vanxim but it will be converted into a Sin City.  Who will be responsible for the spreading of Sin in Vanxim?  Will it not be the Goa Church headed by Goa Bishop?  Surely he only whose  doctrine of eradicating Sin to help the souls to go to Heaven in a Christian principle will be defeated.  It will be a defeat for Christianity.

The presence of Fr. Bismark in this world was the greatest obstacle for all who want to have total control not only over Vanxim but also of entire Goa to destroy Goa’s ecology, culture and Goanness.  For this reason immediately after liquidating Fr. Bismarq, the Invetment Promotion Board has given green signal to all the projects in Vanxim.  Also the anti-Goan old Regional Plan was brought back.  In view of this, to fight the government dadagiri,  Builders dadagiri,Bishop's dadagiri and dadagiri of others, all the supporters and followers of Fr. Bismarq must join together and take up all the issues Fr. Bismarq was fighting.  With the demise of Fr. Bismarq the demise of his  struggles should not be allowed.  In this direction last week at TB Cunha Hall a public meeting was organized by Bharat Mhukti Morcha whose president in Goa Maggie Silveira vowed to fight the menace of Ozones – Gaunekakrs – Bishops and others.  My full support to Bharat Mukti Morcha.
