QUESTIONS TO ELECTION CONTESTANTS.

Very shortly there will be an election in Goa, some or many from the current 40 MLA’s will either be denied tickets for re-election or many will be kicked out by the electorate including some of the current ministers.   Many of them after their failure to get re-elected will fall on the road without name and fame, living as unsung and unwanted heroes even though they may have money accumulated thru corrupt practices during their heydays. Their greatest mortification will be to live like commoners without police escorts, without any importance and without any official status.

Now, my moot point  here is to demand from every political party and every independent candidate to declare in their Election Manifestoes their firm stand on CASINOS mushrooming in Goa because of which the fair image of Goa is corroded.  Because of Casinos, many of the Goans from all the Goan communities are suffering. To put an end to this suffering, we will have to put an end to this Casino business from onshore and offshore.

Secondly, all the political parties contesting the next election must disclose their clear stand on VIP culture because the ruling party members lead the life of Maharajas putting unwanted financial burden on the Exchequer thereby taxing the taxpayers. Why the ministers and other VIP’s require special Bungalows, Beacon cars and Police escorts?  Once when they were Chief Ministers, Prataphsing Rane, Luizin Faleiro and Digambar Kamat were using these facilities but not now.   Are they not living as full fledged human beings WITHOUT extraordinary princely facilities? Do they get Police protection now?

UNTRUSTWORTHY CONGRESS PARTY.

Recently, when the time came for the Congress Party in Goa to take a decision to align itself with other like-minded political parties even by Seat adjustment method, Congress refused to do so.   However, during the current Assembly sessions, Congress Party proved to be untrustworthy because the Congressmen have aligned themselves in the Assembly with the other parties to push forward the No-Confidence Motion  and also for “Walk-Out”. 

On one side the Congress Party is refusing to  align itself with other like minded parties to fight the coming election to dethrone the BJP from the power and on the other side it integrates with the same other like minded parties in  the Legislative Assembly to fight against   the government and the Speaker.  Why this duplicity like that of Dr. Jackeyl and Mr. Hyde? 

By acting in such an unreliable manner Congress is digging its own grave.  From the last Congress Dharbar, it is understood  that Congress is bent on fielding all the oldies and also the defeated candidates who I am sure will again get resounding defeat because of their corrupt practices during the last so many years.    

In conclusion, as a face saving method and to keep its presence alive in Goa, Congress Party must  better  have a tie-up with the local Political Parties namely Goa Forward and  with other like-minded parties to fight the next election.  Otherwise, in Goa, Congress will be R.I.P.

SALE OF FC GOA BY SALGAOCAR & DEMPO.

This is in reference to the selling of Shares of “FC GOA" by Salgaocar and Dempo to the Casino owner, Jaydev Mody.  With this sale to a non-Goan stranger, the total ownership of FC Goa is now gone into the hands of unknown person who is become highest Stakeholder. I feel sad that the interest of Goa and Goans went into the hands of non-Goans who will never try to fly the flag of Goans high.  I am sure Mody’s interest in the long run  is not the promotion of Goan football and Goan footballers but only to gain goodwill of Goans thru which to promote his business interest with the help of Casinos which will promote nothing but sinful acts in Goa. Thru this FC Goa, Mody with the help of football crazy Goans will make the Goans to accept the sinful acts committed thru Casino business.

Till yesterday this business tycoon inspite of having millions was unknown in Goa but suddenly because FC Goa football, he became a celebrity in Goa.  So much so, even by being the world celebrity, Zico was shadowed by him when he interacted with Zico and others including some footballers of FC Goa.

I fail to understand why Dempo and Salgaocar surrendered their rights and position in FC Goa to Mody. By taking this decision unilaterally, I think they both have betrayed Goa and Goans.  Instead they should have found out if there was any single or group of Goans ready to purchase their Shares.  As it is, Mickey Pacheco informed the Goa Legislature that he was ready to purchase 25% of these Shares. If the top management of ISL was against Salgaocar and Dempo of retaining these Shares that does not mean they cannot sell these Shares to other Goans. They should have explored ways and means as Goans to see for Goan buyers. 

Secondly, if this matter was put in front of the global Goans to raise the required amount, I am sure these Goans would not shy away from shouldering their responsibility instead of selling these Shares to a non-Goan whose interest will never be Goan and Goan football. 

It looks the real intention must be the money that fetched them by  selling their Shares. After all they are good businessmen.

I am hurt that Goan football will turn into Casino football.
