DEMAND SARPANCH NAME IN ADVANCE.

Campaigning for Panchayat election has been started with fury in our areas by some candidates with the platoon of their supporters. Every candidate is asking you to cast your vote for him. But what is more important in this election is the election or selection of the Sarpanch and precisely because of this it is imperative for the voters to ask any candidate asking you for your vote to name the Sarpanch whom he/she will elect or select. There is a policy to avoid this question by the candidates with the answer that “let us get ourselves elected first and then will decide the choice of the Sarpanch”. 

In my village I request the Michael Lobo panel to declare now only their choice for the post of Sarpanch. This panel for a long time was under the control of former MLA but just before the last Assembly election, it was hijacked by Lobo just as the way MGP – IND – GFP to form the unethical and unjust BJP government. Where there is BJP hand involved there is bound to be corruption and bribery.  Can this panel candidates confirm with open statement that it will not involve in corruption and taking bribe?  By the way, can this panel openly state that none of its members was involved in accepting bribe and performing corrupt practices during the preceding years?  There are lot of stories circulating that some of the members of this panel  were involved in performing corrupt practices including demanding bribes.  This important question need answer otherwise voters should not vote the candidates of this panel.

It is said that this panel shifted its allegiance to BJP’s Lobo only to get personal benefit for them.  The entire panel members are unreliable; if today they cheated their former SIR then tomorrow there is every possibility for them to cheat the current SIR too.  This panel has not released its manifesto and hence it is difficult to know what they will do once they are elected to rule Candolim.

The voters in Candolim must vote for a true Candoicar who has genuine roots in this village and who knows the history, tradition and other habits of this great village of Abade Faria and Pintos’ revolutionaries.  Don’t elect Dolls who are naturalized citizens of this village nor those whose roots are Ghanttar.  Elect the right candidates who will genuinely serve you and your village.

STOP MIGRANTS' DOUBLE VOTING FACILITY.

Very shortly we will have Panchayat election in Goa.  Due to unwanted excess influx of non-Goans into Goa mainly the migrants and other low grade Ghantis who are selling their votes to any candidate paying them the good amount, there is a big problem for Goa and Goans. It is this class of Bharati people who are a botheration in Goa.  They have no interest in Goa and Goans, their interest is only in getting maximum benefit of Goa and Goans. 

If tomorrow anything goes wrong for them, they will run away from Goa to their States.  In this way so many of them fled to their States after committing unwanted crimes and robberies. Once they go we don’t have records of their residential addresses back at their homes to trace them.  Our local Panchyats have not offered any solution to trace and track them.  They give them all the documents to reside in our localities to get the benefits of their votes.

While they are given voting rights in Goa, was it found out that their names in their localities back at homes in their States are deleted?  I understand many of them are dual voters, they vote in Goa as well as in their home States. Whose job is this to keep a check on this fraud committed by some migrants? 

I understand in my village in Candolim at Araddy Vaddo which is made famous by the local Panchayat by facilitating them to get all the facilities to have this as permanent place for them to live, there are migrants voting at two places. In the forthcoming Panchayat election they will vote in Goa and when the similar election comes in their States from where they came, they will go back there and vote.

 

This has to be stopped. But by whom?  I don’t think because concerned authority and concerned persons are not interested in putting an end to this electoral fraud because they themselves are the beneficiaries of the votes who vote twice. The local politicians will surely utilize them in the coming election to buy their votes as they did in the last Assembly election where according to one source bales of currency Notes paid to the migrant voters to get their votes.

In view of this, those who are capable to fight against this menace must come forward and thru legal means halt this double voting system.

AVOID ELECTING DISGRACEFUL CANDIDATES.

In another few days the Panchayat election will take place in Goa. In many villages especially in the coastal areas, there is too much of rush to fill the forms by the local candidates as well as by the “Baddeache” candidates who are contesting in the Wards not belonging to them. It is very dangerous to re-elect the current members because they are already equipped with the knowledge of using the Panchayat machiney for looting and making money for them.  In our locality we have such candidates who are a nuisance in the Panchayat and because of this nature of them people are reluctant to go to the Panchayat. By their rude behavior they have created a fear complex into the hearts of the people They forget to know why they are elected by the voters, they are elected to do good for the people but instead they are using their power and time for harassing the locals.  They love harassing the people because they are third class coming from worst class of family background.

The important question for the election contestants is this: Once they are elected, whom they will elect the Sarpanch?  This is the main question which the candidates must tell in advance. Later on to decide, we should not wait.  Once they get elected, they will be acting like Dictators.  Those who are not forthcoming with their answer, they should not be voted.

The biggest robbers of many of our Panchayats in Goa are the elected members of the Panchayat headed by the Sarpanches. They are the first persons in the Queue standing there in the Mamlatdar Offices to fill their forms so that they don’t miss the opportunity to contest the election. They will see to it that they are elected even by doling their wives and daughters because they are in readiness to rob Panchayat more and thru Panchayat they will rob the locals. 

Up to now I have not come across a single Panch Member who can with pride say that he has not made use of his position to make money for him.  I see Bungalows, Restaurants and Hotels built by the members of the Panchayat but I don’t see any evidence proving that they have not extorted as bribe the money from the public.  We have in our locality a few of them whose motto by contesting the local election is only to fill their pockets by taking bribe from the people. Otherwise you cannot acquire huge asset without robbing.
