CANDIDATES MUST DECLARE THEIR SOURCE OF INCOME.

It is a pity that the local politics of Panchayati Raj is gone into the hands of third class local politicians, among whom many are unfit even to be in the society. The way they talk and act it looks they are come from the herd and not from the human society. And once they are elected they think they are the kings and queens of this planet.  Then to show their power to the people only from their locality they wear the robes of Hitler. I have experienced this in my locality from the elected representatives coming from the family background of ladru – pedru because this class of people are devoid of character and discipline at home because their parents are backward.  

Being so, their parents are unable to teach discipline to them at home which means they act like wild animals thus victimizing the locals when they seek any assistance from the Panchayat. These rascals they think Panchayat is their fathers’ property to act like Hitlers. Good that they are only the local Panchas and not beyond that. These are the people who commit corruption and dadagiri in the Panchayat. Such persons should be voted out.

In my locality all the candidates tell that they will serve the locals very well once they are elected.  From the current and earlier elected representatives I have not seen much good and in future also I don’t expect anything good.  I saw in the past elected representatives went on rampant corruption thus accumulating enormous illicit wealth for them.  Otherwise they must openly declare the source of their income.  If they are real sons and daughters of their real fathers then they will declare this information openly. Otherwise they will prove who they are.

KNOW YOUR CANDIDATE FROM CALANGUTE.

Name: Mr. Anthony D’Souza alias Babush, contesting the election from Calangute Naikavaddo, Ward No. 4.  This is the second time he is contesting Panchayati election in the same Ward, earlier it was 10 years back but he was not successful then.  However, this time he feels very confident of winning from this Ward because of the social work he did in his locality  that has created a very good image of his into the minds of his voters.

He is very much concerned of the neglect of Calangute village by the current Panchayati administrators. First of all there is a fear in Calangute that due to the influx of non-Goans they are bringing different types of diseases and sicknesses.  For this reason once he is elected,   he will purchase a fogging machine and spray the locality to minimize the effect of Malaria. Then he said he will check all the government schemes some of which were purposely kept hidden by the local Panchayat from the eyes of public, he said he will disclose the same to the public to get benefit of the same.

His other ideas are development of traffic system in Calangute where currently everything is in a mess leading to the accidents. Also to control the flow of tourists in an organized manner by avoiding chaos.  There is too much red -tapism in the Panchayat which he said he will try to eradicate and give better service to the public.  He said he will set up 3 self help groups in Naikavaddo to provide home cooked food to the needy locals.  Provide help for the senior citizens by providing them with medical facilities, transport service cheaply and work  to create unity among the locals and do away with crab mentality.

He said he will see to it the corruption is curbed and discipline is  maintained in the Panchayat, no accepting bribe by any one for the services rendered.

He further said that the local MLA should stop interfering in the Panchayat election and instead concentrate on his job at Goa level.

DEMAND SARPANCH NAME IN ADVANCE.

Campaigning for Panchayat election has been started with fury in our areas by some candidates with the platoon of their supporters. Every candidate is asking you to cast your vote for him. But what is more important in this election is the election or selection of the Sarpanch and precisely because of this it is imperative for the voters to ask any candidate asking you for your vote to name the Sarpanch whom he/she will elect or select. There is a policy to avoid this question by the candidates with the answer that “let us get ourselves elected first and then will decide the choice of the Sarpanch”. 

In my village I request the Michael Lobo panel to declare now only their choice for the post of Sarpanch. This panel for a long time was under the control of former MLA but just before the last Assembly election, it was hijacked by Lobo just as the way MGP – IND – GFP to form the unethical and unjust BJP government. Where there is BJP hand involved there is bound to be corruption and bribery.  Can this panel candidates confirm with open statement that it will not involve in corruption and taking bribe?  By the way, can this panel openly state that none of its members was involved in accepting bribe and performing corrupt practices during the preceding years?  There are lot of stories circulating that some of the members of this panel  were involved in performing corrupt practices including demanding bribes.  This important question need answer otherwise voters should not vote the candidates of this panel.

It is said that this panel shifted its allegiance to BJP’s Lobo only to get personal benefit for them.  The entire panel members are unreliable; if today they cheated their former SIR then tomorrow there is every possibility for them to cheat the current SIR too.  This panel has not released its manifesto and hence it is difficult to know what they will do once they are elected to rule Candolim.

The voters in Candolim must vote for a true Candoicar who has genuine roots in this village and who knows the history, tradition and other habits of this great village of Abade Faria and Pintos’ revolutionaries.  Don’t elect Dolls who are naturalized citizens of this village nor those whose roots are Ghanttar.  Elect the right candidates who will genuinely serve you and your village.
