UNHYGIENIC FILTY CONDITION AT GMC.

There is a saying in Konkani, “Kharveank nhoi Ghorvam ani Rendrank nhoi Tarvam”.  This is what it is happening in India’s political administrative  system while it is not in USA where every portfolio is allocated by the President to the best person available in his particular field.  During the Gulf War for the liberation of Kuwait, the defense portfolio was held by Dick Cheney who was an expert in Arms and Ammunition that resulted in the appropriate usage of appropriate weaponry for the victory in that war.

Krishnan Menon and Manhohar Parricar turned out to be the biggest IDIOTS as Defense Ministers of India because under the former India suffered the worst defeat from China and under the latter the most humiliating attacks by the Pakistani terrorists. Raj Narain was responsible for bringing disgrace on Health Ministry of India during the rule of Janata Party when he held the Health portfolio inspite of being ignorant of this subject.

Now it is the same story in Goa of Visvajit Rane as Health Minister. I don’t think he got any knowledge of health requirements and yet he demanded this portfolio for him for its lucrativeness and not for the promotion of Health care of the Goans.

During the last six months I was admitted to GMC Hospital twice, first time for the operation of Cataract and now last week for the Chest pain.  During both the occasions I found the Servants, the Nurses and the doctors are doing excellent job.  But the worst thing there you will find is the Toilet and Bathroom facilities. In Ward No. 142 where I was admitted both the Toilets lacked the proper door facilities, both were dirty and stinking, dirty water flowing on the ground, there was no Bathroom nor changing room, both the toilets were common for both the genders.  The entire area around Toilets was nauseatic and unbearable for human beings.

I was told by a reliable source that inspite of getting good treatment free of charge, more Goans prefer to go to Private Hospitals by paying huge amount undeservingly and leaving migrants and non Goans to use better medical facilities of GMC. Goans dislike BMC more because of its filthy hygienic condition.

The Health Minister if he is a real civilized person then he will investigate this matter and rectify the flaws existing at GMC.  He is known to simply boast  saying he has done this and that for the improvement of Health service but in reality he has done nothing. Like his father, he took false credit for himself for doing nothing.  To supervise such a massive hospital like GMC is not a joke especially for a man who got Zero knowledge of  medical science.  You require experts and knowledgeable persons to run this hospital and not Babas and Babus.

COMPETITION TIATRO "TU MHOJE SUKH"

COMPETITION TIATRO “TU MHOJE SUKH”

One of the lovely pairs seen acting

On 25th of this month, at Kala Academy Panjim, starting at 7.00 PM, I saw the Tiatro “Tu Mhoje Sukh” presented by JJ Production, St. Cruz and attended by a good number of attendees.  This was one of the best Tiatros of this competition so far where every artiste peprformed well.  However, especial mention must be made to the roles played by Clint and Antonette as husband and wife and Sybil as their elder daughter. Velony Dias played her role well too  In the comedy roles, both Valanka and Rod did well but the former did extremely well.

IS YOUNG GOAN BOY "A MESSI IN THE MAKING IN USA?"

8 year old Goan boy Jayden seen practicing at Barcelona

Rarely I heard a Goan making a mark for himself and his community in the West in the sports especially in soccer when soccer is in the blood of Goans even though innumerable Goans are born, brought-up and settled down in the West.  However, in the academic field Goans have shown very good results. But why not in sports when this field is of great love for Goans and when there are so many facilities at their disposal in the West.  In UK, Germany and Portugal there are innumerable Goans born and brought up there only and yet there seemed to be no interest shown in soccer in these countries by any Goan.  Even during the colonial days in Goa, not a single footballer neither a promising nor a fully developed Goan was recruited to Portugal to play for the Portuguese teams when the two greatest negro footballers of Portugal namely  Eusebio and Coluna from Portuguese African colony Mocambique  donned the colours of Portugal.  Morevoer, Coluna was appointed as skipper of Portuguese National team in the World Cup tournament held in England in 1966 where the great Black Panther Eusebio was declared as the highest scorer of the tournament.

Now, according to my latest information, Goans like me should be happy to know that one 8 year Goan boy in the USA is fulfilling the ambitions of Goans by climbing the ladder of soccer in the USA and in Spain at Barcelona Club.  It looks to me that this Goan boy is “in the making of Goan Lionel MESSI”, let us all soccer loving Goans spread all over the World pray to God to help this boy to come up to that highest level and turn not only into another Messi but better than Messi. With the encouragement of his parents, both mother Vailia Fernandes and father Jerome Fernandes presently settled down in the USA at Cincinnati, Ohio, their 8 year old son Jayden R. Fernandes I am sure will surely reach to the pedestal of soccer either in the USA or at Barcelona or anywhere in the Western Europe.  The youngster Jayden is the grandson of well –known Goan personality Remedios and Suzana Fernandes both from Calangute and currently in the UAE at Dubai.  Remedios is a well-known Stage artiste popularly known as Remy or Young Fernandes who was my colleague at St. Xavier’s College Mapusa and a great lover of soccer and admirer of my sporting prowess

Young Jayden is currently living in the USA at Cincinnati – Ohio and is a 3rd Grade student St. Margaret of York School.

With regards to his football prowess, last year Jayden attended a football camp comprising 5000 boys  and girls in the USA from different parts of the World, this camp was organized by ISL Futbol with FC Barcelona official Coaches in his hometown at Cincinnati, to be a part of the All – Star Team to be trained at the FCB Escola HQ, in Barcelona, Spain.  Out of these 5000 boys and girls selected from 20 FCB Football Camp locations across USA, less than 10% of the players got selected to join the All-Star squad. The All-Star Training camp was held in Barcelona in last November 2016 for a period of 10 days where Jayden got selected due to which he got an opportunity to train at the World class facilities of FCB Escola where he was made a part of “Team Messi” which was a great honour for him and along with other selected players Jayden participated in an advanced intensive training programme based on the FC Barcelona methodology.  Besides, Jayden got also an opportunity to play against the local Spanish Academy teams like Poble Sec, Escola Pia and Club Esportiu Mercantil. He also watched a FCB La Liga game at Camp Nou, the home ground of FC Barcelona.

This was truly a remarkable and unique experience for an 8 year old boy. He enjoyed every minute of it and got to meet some famous players in the process. Even more amazing was that Jayden was selected for the All-Star Team for a second consecutive year in 2017, and recently returned from Barcelona in September where he played more games and trained at the next level.

He was also selected to train at the Manchester City FC Academy in Manchester, UK but he will be unable to participate this year due to conflicts with his school schedule.
